Today, my experience at the restaurant was dreadful. Despite our love for the food and the usual kindness of the staff, we encountered an extremely rude cashier. When I simply asked for recommendations on popular dishes because I'm not familiar with the menu, she bluntly refused, saying, "No, I will not help you. You must choose whatever, and I don't care!" After I open my food I realize they she also placed me the wrong order! My kids feel extremely sad! They only love 叉烧肉 but we end up with this!

The best char siu in Chinatown! Duck, chicken and pork belly are also very good. Scallion dipping sauce is a must. Service can be a bit brusque at times but don’t let that bother you. The food is well worth it. Take out & cash only. Highly recommended.

Amazing !! These are qualities. I love these canton aunties and all of food are highly recommended. Yes, this place is only for take out. The food is first come first serve so I suggest the visiting time could be before 5:30pm.

First time purchasing char siu and soy sauce chicken from Great BBQ. Lots of construction in the middle of Hudson street but worth the trip. There is only take away. Very happy with the quality.

Google
Roasted duck with duck sauce was phenomenal - the authenticity I’ve been looking for! They only accept cash and there is a slight language barrier, but very nice and friendly people. This is the 3rd duck place I’ve had in China town and is by far the most authentic and flavorful duck I’ve had. They don’t have rice plates, but the roasted meat here is very good!

Google
Never gave below 4 stars, but the roasted duck is very disappointing. Over baked. Thin. Lots of bones. Half box are as dry as charcoal. No meat. If it’s me ordering, I would’ve immediately return it. I normally go to 香港小食 or 肥仔烧腊 for roasted duck.

My boyfriend is Chinese-American and got excited to see somewhere local he could pick up duck. We live on the cape so it’s just not accessible for us typically. Even though he speaks Chinese fairly well, he maybe misspoke about asking for duck. The guys looked at him like he was an alien and then after my boyfriend pulled out his phone to look up the proper word for duck, one of the guys here yelled at him as if he was being super rude “no duck, sold out!”. Imagine being excited for something and then getting yelled at like you’re a problem. I work in IT support for all ranges of language barriers and capabilities. I just have no patience for people who act like this toward people, especially for doing nothing wrong. He didn’t deserve that. We will look elsewhere for duck.

I chose this place for my first roast duck in many years. I ordered half roast duck and omgosh so good!! Normally when I have to choose between roast duck or soy sauce chicken, I go for SSC so I haven't had duck in so long. Well now this place has reminded me that roast duck is a major contender lol. This is a very small spot that if it weren't for the yellow sign, you might miss it. It's a different set up of having to go downstairs and it has a steep ramp when you get inside. But the duck was very flavorful and not overly salty for me. It has the same issues that SSC does, the tiny bone bits you gotta be careful when you eat. Ah well, it's very worth it. They cut it up for you and it was packaged neatly considering how messy it really is. They do cash only and there isn't really much seating available but it's fine, their food makes up for it.

Yelp
The crispy skin pork was not good, the meat was dry and the skin was very chewy. It also didn't really have any flavor. The bbq pork was amazing on the other hand. They put on a smoky sweet glaze on it that was really tasty. The meat was a good balance between fatty and lean. This place will probably be my go to bbq pork place.

Yelp
One of the juiciest and fattiest chicken soy sauce chicken that I have had in a long time ! It's pricy at 32 dollars but is very delicious ! Also the crispy pork has crispy skin and actually moist and tender meat. Well worth the visit. Bring cash and soak in the back in Asia vibes. Live deliciously !

Yelp
Got a char-siu and soy sauce chicken with rice and vegetable takeout from Great Barbecue and it was a great deal. Meat was nicely seasoned and tender, and I can't believe the whole meal was only 9 dollars. Really amazing find!

Yelp
I finally ventured to this place for some Cantonese roast duck n crispy pork. The store is below ground, kinda like Wai Wai but much cleaner n more room for you to move around. Half a roast duck and a little over a lb of crispy pork came to $23 and change. Taste wise, it's good. The crispy pork actually came with crispy skin a la chicharon. Nice. Duck taste good too. The fact that they use meatier duck with less fat is a huge plus. I definitely love that. The sauce that came with the roast duck is great. My only complain is that the skin is soft , and does not have the nice crispy skin which is the hallmark of a good Cantonese roast duck. Also bought a 3/4lb of Chinese cured pork - all lean meat. They sell it for $10/lb. They made that in house. Love the fact that I can just buy the lean meat instead of the streaky pork belly cured meat. I know I am strange that way but I just don't like eating fat. Overall, the food is great. Just thought that it was strange the lady owner refused to give me any ginger scallion sauce. She said that she will have to charge me 50 cents per a small sauce container for it despite me spending over $30 at her store. Definitely not a friendly manner of conducting business. The other places gave it to me for free whenever I spent over $30 in purchase. Not a big deal but just thought I should mention it. If you are like me who is accustomed to getting complimentary ginger scallion sauce and can't go without, I suggest that you go elsewhere or bite the bullet and pay them the 50 cents for a tablespoon of ginger scallion sauce.

Yelp
I decided to write a review because there's not much info on this place. All you need to know: $6 bucks for a good amount of meat and rice (beef, pork, or duck). Other places in town have raised prices to close to $10 (ie. Chinatown Cafe). The food is solid, especially for the price! Meals: The crispy pork was tasty. I tried the cha-siu for the first time per another recommendation. The outside had amazing flavor, although the inside was dry. I don't know how it's traditionally served but if you like beef jerkey you'll love it...if you enjoy juicy meats, you'll end up sipping water between every bite. Other: When you walk down stairs and in, the place is tiny but looks relatively clean. The guy definitely doesn't know customer service or speak English and everything is in Chinese. Therefore, you either point at the hanging meats and he'll get mad and tell you what they are, or you stick to the English basics like "bbq beef with rice." They also sell meats by the pound. That's all folks!

Yelp
You see quite a few places with ducks, chickens and slabs of pork hanging in the window is Chinatown. The questions is which is the best? Some of these places offer extensive menus, others are specialty shops that are exclusively take-out, while others have only BBQ but you can eat there. I prefer to get my BBQ for take-out, but taste, quality and cleanliness are my deciding criteria. Great BBQ is the Best in my opinion. * very clean * BBQ pork is especially good, but I'm more likely to get the duck also with my order. * the cleaver dude can be cranky at times but everyone else here is friendly.

Yelp
The salty chicken was super tender and flavorful. My family said the roast pork and crispy pork were moist and crispy (I don't eat pork). Definitely keep them on my list for future rotisserie cravings.

Yelp
Great Cha-Siu! And they were friendly and courteous the first time I wandered in aimlessly off the street.

Yelp
The guy at this place does not understand what is customer service. He is simply rude. He does not explain what options are available but simply just want to cut the meat for you. Their product is very fatty and hardly any is actually edible. I do not recommend this place.
