"The Great Barn Taproom in New Hope serves up beers on tap brewed at their Great Barn Brewery in Kintnersville. Sip a double IPA or dunkel as you snack on a chili hot dog, pulled pork sandwich, or pierogies topped with caramelized onions and enjoy the scenic views at the location along the Aquetong Creek." - Kristen Kwiatkowski

Went to look for an outdoor bar in Doylestown to watch the eagles game today and decided to checkout the garden bar at Puck. I am a local but haven’t had a chance to visit this spot. What I experienced was very disappointing. Half of the beer on tap was not available due to a “Friday night party” the night before. This was a beautiful Sunday fall afternoon and what we witnessed was an empty outdoor space with terrible food and one bartender who was absolutely miserable to be there. It’s a shame because the outdoor space is great, but the atmosphere, food, and customer service was so disappointing.

After walking around New Hope for a while, Great Barn Taproom is a great place to take a load off. The location is awesome as it’s right near the canal and outside seating has you looking out towards the Playhouse and Delaware River. The staff is really friendly and the selection of beers is terrific. They have a great menu that describes the beers and gives you the percentage of alcohol. Go for the flight and get a good taste of a bunch of beers. Prices are very reasonable. I will definitely go back to try some new suds next time.

Google
Great location and this place have so much potential to do way better but for some reason they decided not to. Food presentation is not very good and they don’t offer a lot of variety but it tasted fine even tho you may not want to try after looking at it. Good little selection of beer. Hope they can improve it and take better advantage of their location

Google
This is a cute new place in New Hope, nice concept farm to glass. Its a great location in warmer months if you can find seating, right across from the playhouse. We tried 2 flights (4 beers each) but I wasn't in love with any of the beers they offered. The barstools aren't that comfortable, and the only food option is a tiny bag of mini pretzels. I did see a table of people who brought their own snacks, I guess they've been here before to know they can bring outside food. The place has a tv and the gentleman working there was informative and friendly. Not sure I'll be back though.

Google
Really neat place with a view. Good beer, cider was good, too. Friendly staff. Thank you for finding my phone.

My husband and I held our wedding welcome party at Great Barn Taproom and they were absolutely fantastic! The person we worked with to schedule our private party was very responsive and easy to work with. The staff who worked our event were so kind and fun! The atmosphere was great and the outdoor patio area was so pretty. Beer and cocktails were all great as well!

Google
Nice spot to stop and grab a beer. My IPA was ok but we really liked the Buckthorn Pale Ale. Nice to relax outside and have a drink by the creek behind the tap room.

Google
First time coming in because the outside always looks like a nice place to chill. I should've requested a sample of the because I didn't care for it and took 3 sips and left it. My fault. The Bees Knees tasted like straight concentrated lime juice. Didn't drink it. We do patronize craft breweries but this one missed the mark for us.

Michael L.

Yelp
Really disappointed with this place. The taproom entrance was this cool back alley hidden entrance and the inside was all decked out. There's a back patio area along the water and kids were fishing. I had some high hopes! When I ordered the flight, 2 of my glasses were not really filled up. In the picture - I haven't touched them. For $12, I really want to see them filled better. The IPAs were mediocre too. Nearly impossible to distinguish one from the other, even though they were described in very different ways. My fave was the PB Dunkel. I'll probably check back in a future trip, but not going out of my way to go here again.

Vince S.

Yelp
Pro-tip: food only offered here on Sat and Sun So yeah, I kind of wanted the pierogi, I even skipped ordering stuff at previous places just to have room. But this was a fun part of a bday New Hope crawl. As designated driver I only was able to have one beer. My friends enjoyed their flights and I'd try to do that on a other visit( Fyeah it will be a Sat or Sun!) I'm slightly rounding up but have to say decor and location wise, it's a cool spot. That goes for customer service as well. The outdoor seating would be great on a nice and touristy day. I REALLY like that this brewery grows most of the grain that they use. Hope to be back and update about the food.

El K.

Yelp
My first time in New Hope so I wanted to try a new beer joint. I thought this place was interesting enough since they are locally grown and brewed craft beer. We opt for the flights and the taste is not my fav. I've tasted many IPAs in my life but maybe my tastebuds didn't appreciate the "organic" brewed taste. Price: reasonable Ambiance: nice outdoor seatings Service: AWESOME. The owner was extremely accommodating by allowing me to use his phone charger and was attentive to us.

Rob L.

Yelp
Great location and really good beer. Lots of celebrities frequent this place. Can't believe Neil Young was there.

Kenneth N.

Yelp
I attended a private holiday party at this location, thought it had its charm next to Nektar this bar backs Into a smaller stream with outside seating and smoking area. We catered the food to the event and brought servers for the party. Cool venue to host a private party

Kelly S.

Yelp
If you like a good view, to people watch, and beer...this is your bliss. Bartender was sweet and welcoming:)

Patricia P.

Yelp
We love stopping at Great Barn Taproom any time we are in New Hope! It is a great farm microbrewery sitting right by the Delaware River bank; relaxing, great beer and views! We have been here a few times and have seen a few favorable changes with time... They have added sausages, pretzels and other light fares to accompany their beer selections. They have also added a few tables that almost reach the water... Among my favorites, (dark), I enjoy their peanut butter/chocolate beer! Yummy! I also enjoy their Trailer Juice milk stout! Winner! Overall, a great spot to stop by either before or after dinner in NH!

Christy C.

Yelp
Great little place to grab a drink and relax in a country setting. The beer was good, and I would definitely go back for another round.

Steve J.

Yelp
Great selection and tasting beers. Farm to bar! The dunkle was great along with the stouts and pilsners and cherry pie cider (7% ).

IM H.

Yelp
Tasty brews in a chill environment. Even the sangria was delicious. I went with the red.

Garrett S.

Yelp
Amazing all around! Great variety! Quick efficient service. Friendly knowledgeable bartenders. Beautiful view outside with a nice outdoor area.

Yelp
Hey hey Adventurers! This place is awesome ! The gentlemen behind the bar were friendly, helpful and entertaining! Though I think I was just so excited to be there half the jokes went over my head haha. The place is down an alley way and has 3 different entrances since it takes up the entire basement of the establishment. Very open spacious bar area; they don't serve food just snacks. However this is a great place to stop before actually grabbing dinner---which is exactly what we did. There are flights of 4 beers for $9 ! You have 8 flavors to choose from. My friend and I chose the 4 we liked and sorta just shared the tastings. I really enjoyed the stout and the one that tasted like grapefruit. Trust me they have a beer for everyone! Outside is a small spaced out seating area; dog friendly (outside) and about 5 tables that seat 4 each. You have a view of the canal and twinkle lights to the right from other restaurants. Again we had stopped by here before moseying over to Nektar. We have a very pleasant experience here with superb quality overall. Will definitely be back again!

Yelp
I stumbled upon a micro/ brewery in New Hope after going into a 70's store. It's right next to it. It's not a big place but it is cozy with a country feel. Lots of woods and interesting collections on the wall. When I walked in I saw a mannequin all dressed up in a revolutionary style costume and wig. There was funny paintings on the wall too. They had a 3 piece band playing which was ok, but that's not why we came. Known as the first farm brewery in Bucks County, Great Barn is the brainchild of married couple Maryana and Steve Ferguson. A lot of the artwork and paintings were done by Maryana.. The bartenders were very helpful in guiding me through their selections of beers. I decided to try their Lemon Basil Saison Beer. It was really good and I throughly enjoyed it. The combination of lemon and basil gave this beer a great taste and it was very refreshing. My friend tried their sampler of 4 different beers of his choice which he really enjoyed. All the beers are either 16oz ,and up unless you pick the samplers. They even have growlers you can purchase. All the malted beers are brewed locally in Bucks County on a 40 acre farm just north of Doylestown. You will not see the beer brewed at this location. These beers come from the creative mind of Christopher Bowen, an award winning brewer who is officially recognized as a beer historian. Their philosophy is Farm to Glass Essence. Going back to the land and honoring the ingredients that naturally grow in abundance. They don't serve food, but I was told this is a BYOF ( bring in your own food) They have a nice outdoor patio for relaxing which is located across the street from the Delaware River that runs through the city. While sitting outside you can see this and the top of the bridge. What's unique is there are two different entrances depending which side of the building your on. I sat on their very comfortable and cozy brown leather couch. I felt like I was in someone's home with a bar. One of the bartenders even came over to me to hand me a sample of a beer I wanted to try. I thought that was very sweet. If your looking for something a bit different, and like the idea of everything locally sourced then this is your place to try. I will definitely be returning.

Yelp
I stopped in yesterday on a cold day after wandering around Lambertville and New Hope. It sits off of Main Street. The owners, Steve and Maryana, were doing some work. I thought they were closed. They invited me right in and chatted with me while finishing their chores. Steve told me the history of the family farm and how they grow their own barley for the beer. Neat and cozy little place that sits right by the canal. I tried the Dry Irish Stout, the Kolsch, and the New Zealand Hazy IPA. I enjoyed them all. The stout was dry and malty and served with a nitro pour. The Kolsch was light and crisp. Made me look forward to the warmer months. I'm not a big fan of IPAs, but Maryana gave me a sample. It was the right amount of hops with a touch of sweetness. Would definitely be a fun place to hang outside in the warmer months. I'll definitely return.

George B.

Yelp
Its small and kinda hidden. Which can be good if youre the one who knows where it is! The beers are very good. What a nice spot sitting outside on the canal too. If you enjoy craft beer give em a try. They also have some inexpensive bar food, save some cash eating off of mainstreet.

Veronica K.

Yelp
This brewery probably warrants another visit from me, but I'll reflect on some of my first impressions. It's in a strange location and somewhat hard to find, but follow the signs that lead you through an alley. I wasn't super impressed with anything they had on tap in terms of originality, it all feels very 'safe'. I had their stout and wasn't that into it. It was generic and forgettable. However their DIPA was actually outstanding, very juicy and mildly sweet. To be honest, there was nothing else on tap I was interested in trying. Factor in that it's a bit pricey and I'm just sadly not impressed. I'll try them again, but this place just doesn't stand out in a world of microbreweries.

Ed G.

Yelp
Located next to Nektar restaurant this brewery has been open since August according to the barkeep. Place seems to do good business on Saturday afternoons. The beers offered are very good. Flights are $9 for a choice of four. They had eight to choose from on our visit. I only had four, and all were good. We were told the actual brewery is located in Kintnersville, about 20 miles North of New Hope. Outside seating is available, weather permitting.

Master C.

Yelp
Eh beer is ok. Service is not so much. I actually think Triumph has better beer and The Landing has way better atmosphere. They have a 2xNE style IPA on tap it pours a dark tan and has a higher malt profile, I've toured breweries all along NE and this is not even close to NE fresh. There is a lot of competition in the craft market these guys need to seriously step up their game, I've been in there a half dozen times already every time there are less patrons, and no improvements - they were down to three most recent visit. I want to see these guys do well but so far it's just not happening. Free Will Brewing in Peddlers Village is about 10 minutes away - their beer is way better and worth the trip, in that radius they have what I'd say is the best beer around - review on them to follow.

Tracy T.

Yelp
Yas! I'm excited for a new brewery in town. Sorry Triumph. They have 8 beers on tap. You can order flights or pints or growlers. There are two flights listed on the beer menu to choose from or you pick your own brews. A flight has 4 x 4oz glasses for $9. It's very reasonable. I tried all 8 beers available, there wasn't one I didn't like. The only thing that's missing is food. But there's plenty of restaurants in town to go to after. I look forward to going back!

Matthew B.

Yelp
This beer is NOT awful. Don't listen to the other reviews. Maybe some of the other people on here are used to just drinking Coors light, but I like bold, flavorful, unique beers, and as a Minnesota Beer snob, where we have a craft brewery on like every street, I highly recommend this place. The patio is right on the canal too. It's absolutely awesome! That's all I have to say.

Victor B.

Yelp
While they say they are dog friendly the reality is they only let you sit in the grass, not the regular outside seating, which would have been fine if the guy working behind the bar was nice. Beer was good, but based off my interactions with the employees I will take my money elsewhere.

Dee ..

Yelp
Loved the beer here. Huge selection but we came too late and had to rush. So we guzzled down the samplers the licorice beer was the best!

Simon S.

Yelp
This is exactly what you are Looking for in a NE brew pub. Their beers are out of this world. The "where the Delaware am I?" iPA is simply a perfect balance without being too hoppy. The hazy acres ipa is just so smooth. Try the dunkel Shaun for an unusual delight (peanut butter? - it WORKS!!!) In the mood for something more groovy? Try the. Cucumber kolsch for a new world take on a classic. The strawberry fennel hef is - oddly enough - amazing. In one place you can drink the history of the USA (but no Trump bitter yet) - a few miles north of Washington's historic crossing its easy to see why the Prussians surrendered!! While there is no food, the beer selection is amazing on the historic banks of the Delaware. A beacon for revolutionaries and continentals everywhere!!

Pati C.

Yelp
Beautiful location. Awful beer. We got 2 flights, so we had 8 out of 10 of their offerings. We didn't have the cider and the Hefeweizen. Out of the 8 we drank, only the kolsch was good, while the barrel aged one and the peanut butter one were drinkable. So sad. Also, there's no food, but you can bring in your own. Highly recommend the Mexican joint around the corner on Main st.

Sue S.

Yelp
Let me start by saying we drink a lot of beer and could do a brewery good! Made the trip to New Hope just to try this place and walked in totally ready to relax and enjoy. And spend some money. And come back multiple times. Alas... The beer was decent and decor nice, but the positives stop there. The "barn to table" antipasto platter was pre-made, packed in plastic and self serve from the cooler...for $16...lost points, sorry. The worst part was the awful...AWFUL...bartender. My husband ordered the nitro, and after the bartender set it down in front of us, it settled quickly to just over half the pint glass. We hoped he would notice and offer to top it off, but he was too busy on his cell phone around the corner from where we were to notice. Hubby drank the half pint and would have ordered another...but the bartender was still on his phone around the corner. I enjoyed the four beers in my flight and would have ordered a pint of the hazy ipa...but the bartender was still on his phone around the corner. We got up, paid, and walked down the street to another brewery...where we had food and three more pints. I'm no mastermind, but if someone is trying to maintain a small brewery and compete with the big boys, they could do more to secure beer drinkers' business.

Jasmine R.

Yelp
The service was great; the bartender helped us choose unique brews and the prices were very affordable. The peanut butter chocolate beer was particularly tasty and it was the first time I have ever tried a juniper beer! The outdoor seating had beautiful views and it was a nice pit stop for me on my bike journey through New Hope!

Megan L.

Yelp
Great place. The Dunkelshaun - peanut butter chocolate - was out of this world! Parking is difficult anywhere around this area...and I would have walked right past it if it weren't get out Uber driver. It's on the lower level of a street level building. Once you reach the store there is outdoor seating on the river it's a great spot.

Brittany B.

Yelp
So I bought my boyfriend a Groupon to come try out this brewery. When I first walked in, although small, the space was nice. The one side of the room was all windows that open up to view the water which was nice. That was about the extent of my praise though. The picture I attached shows a flight of beers before I even took a sip, after the foam settled I was left with 2 half full cups and no way of knowing which one was which. The bartender had us yell across the bar which beers we wanted and didn't even know how to pour. The beer was lacking as well. Definitely not my favorite place. It was really quiet and almost awkward to have a conversation and the slow boring music was not entertaining. The staff could have been friendlier as well...

Dan B.

Yelp
Great Barn Brewery is a great new hidden gem located in the heart of New Hope. Right around the corner from Main St. Great Barn Brewery is the new brewery in town and it's very good. This place is great place that brews it's on beer locally. I really enjoyed the Betty raspberry berliner, it had a great smooth flavor with a nice hint of raspberry. The other beer I really liked was the rye pale ale, they offer 6 other beers that are are locally made and I'm sure for tasty. The atmosphere is also very cool, you are able to sit outback to sit right on the water and drink your beers which is a great thing to do on a nice night in New Hope.

Kendra C.

Yelp
They finally service some cocktails! I cannot comment on the beer, but my man likes them. Food is good, total bar snacks, cosmo is great. Definitely worth the visit. It's a great way to try lots of different beers

Lauren H.

Yelp
We just hosted a private birthday party at the Taproom, and everything was amazing. Not only is the space perfect for a small/medium party, the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Party guests raved all night about the beer selection, the food and the cool indoor/outdoor space! Definitely recommend the Taproom if you're looking for a unique party spot.

Anna Z.

Yelp
Came here early last Saturday evening since we were in the area celebrating a friend's birthday. Decided to sit outside and enjoy a flight on the patio. Beer was decent, I wouldn't say there was anything extraordinary or particularly memorable. The bartender serving us didn't bother writing down the beers on the flight for us, nor did she tell us which was which, so we had no idea what we were drinking. Service was decent besides that, but again, nothing extraordinary. Wasn't very busy for a warm Saturday night. Prices were higher than comparable breweries/tap rooms, which was a little disappointing. Ambiance inside the taproom was sort of non-existent, but it was nice outside on the patio. Overall, it didn't meet my expectations based on the reviews I had read, and I don't know that I would return. Just felt like another popup taproom.

Kyle D.

Yelp
We stopped in for a quick drink on a rainy day , we were the only ones in there the bartender was so polite and helpful and great conversations the beer we had was delicious and she recommended a dinner spot that was delicious, would definitely go again

Ben B.

Yelp
Great beer, humble owner, and wonderful stories. Farm fresh beer really has a meaning in this wonderful establishment. The owners produce their own ingredients in order to give us a true taste of Bucks County. Not a single beer had a flavor that overpowered the underlying brewing styles. Surprisingly the cucumber and lemon basil were my favorites. I would recommend this establishment to anybody. Especially those that support local farms, breweries, and good ingredients.

David L.

Yelp
Great Day, Great place to relax and have your favorite Bre- The Great Barn Taproom was our final stop for the Bucks Co. "Ale Trail". Waldo's was here.

Kait V.

Yelp
I've been to the majority of breweries in bucks county and the surrounding area, so I was excited to add Great Barn to the list. I wasn't super impressed, the beers were okay, nothing special. I like the outside seating area and it's a nice spot in New Hope.

Laura L.

Yelp
My husband wanted to come for a beer. I am not a beer drinker. I ordered a Bloody Mary it's delicious!! Nice place you can sit inside or outside!! It's a beautiful day we are sitting outside. I highly recommend!!

Christopher L.

Yelp
Honestly the beer here was pretty average. The peanut butter dunkel was the best but nothing to write home about. IPAs below average. Ambiance was the only thing keeping this place at 3 stars. Overlooking the creek was a nice touch. Sorry to be harsh but bar prices for beers means a different bar needs to be set.

Penny P.

Yelp
This taproom is the best I would give a 10 star, beers are awesome, staff is the best. Chris and Steve are awesome. Try them out great local brewed beers. Best of luck in your New Hope location!!!!!

Rose A.

Yelp
I wouldn't recommend the cider but their beer selection blows Triumph out of the water. Been here multiple times and bartender never remembers which beer is which when I order a flight.

Bernard G.

Yelp
Loved the experience at this perfectly set little joint with naturally handcrafted beer that was just delicious. People very friendly and the vibe was cool .. fire pit goin chairs to sit and look at the water .. heading back here for sure.

Tifane R.

Yelp
This is a cute new place in New Hope, nice concept farm to glass. It's a great location in warmer months if you can find seating, right across from the playhouse. I did see a table of people who brought their own snacks, I guess they've been here before to know they can bring outside food. Eric G.

Yelp
Finally a business is utilizing this cool zone on Aquetong Creek! Very simple and chill. I don't even drink, but my girlfriend does and she said the beer was very good. You can mix and match flights or just get pints! Cheers and thanks for the cool digs!

Ellie H.

Yelp
Interesting selection of good beer from a local small brewery, offering tasting flights as well as pints. For non-beer drinkers, they also have wines from Buckingham Valley Vineyards and delicious local cider! Not a lot of atmosphere inside, but a nice outdoor area by the creek, and I think the indoor space will warm up as more people discover this spot and it gets a bit busier. This is a great place to stop for a drink before or after dinner, and they're happy to let you bring in take out (for which there are lots of options nearby) if you'd rather have your beer with food. It's a bit tricky to find... the space is in the back of the building so you have to walk down one of the alleys next to the building to get to the entrance.

Doug M.

Yelp
This is a brand new brewery in New Hope; what a great place with friendly staff and beautiful setting outside. But enough of the frilly horse shit aside, the beer is excellent! I highly recommend the thousand-year-old Finnish Viking recipe called Beerbarian.

Tee K.

Yelp
I've been here five+ times in the last three years. Was good. Last year I asked about the NE IPA changing and was told that the brewmaster changed. They need to get the old one back.

Anna K.

Yelp
Without doubt now one of the favorite tap rooms (or even bars) I have ever been to. I am native to Philadelphia, but moved to Chicago, and when I come home I always make time to visit New Hope. Well, my last visit pleasantly surprised me - there was a new tap room - and I LOVE LOVE LOVE GREAT beer. So I had to try it. We were warmly welcomed by the owner who was super friendly and chatty - but not in overwhelming kind of way. The atmosphere of the tap room is so special that it really felt welcoming, comfortable, and relaxing me. Its location is convenient and SO beautiful. And everything inside is decorated by hand!!! And beer... THE BEER... It was DELISH, fresh, bubbly cold, awesome bold flavors. As I type this in a far away Chicago - I think I can still taste it. You cannot call yourself a beer drinker and not try their home made beers! My personal favorite was an Oatmeal Stout. Dark, chocolaty... Perfect Winter beer. This experience was true sample of excellent hospitality and amazing beer!

Trot F.

Yelp
Beers are average at best, Id rather drive 20 minutes to lone eagle, vault, or even flounder. They dont make a lot of new beers either, been the same since opening. Sours would be a great addition too

M B.

Yelp
Beer was ok. Nothing great for the price as was a 3 other micro brews over the past few days. In addition on the nitro the pour was half. Asked for a top off but maybe next time hold the beer and top off BEFORE you serve.

Leah B.

Yelp
Great beers and great service. Chris is awesome! This is a great place to get a good beer in New Hope.
