Best Breweries in Houston | Eater Houston

"This GOOF-based brewery opened in the middle of Hurricane Harvey in 2017, and once the waters subsided, a neighborhood institution was born. Great Heights focuses on crafting cleanly fermented ales, offering a rotating selection of approachable brews that range from crisp lagers to hop-forward IPAs — all served in its laidback taproom and on the dog-friendly patio. The brewery opens at 7 a.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. on weekends, serving Cake and Bacon pastries baked fresh daily." - Brianna Griff

21 Essential Breweries in Houston

"With 12 beers on tap, including hoppy IPAs, lagers, stouts, and ciders, this GOOF area brewery prides itself on sustainability by packaging and donating grains spent during production to local farmers for livestock feed. Pair a cold one with great food from a rotating list of trucks parked outside the brewery." - Sean Hekmat, Brittany Britto Garley, Megha McSwain

I came for the beer but will be coming back for the cold brew! This brewing company absolutely exceeded my expectations. Their cold brew coffee was smooth, bold, and had the perfect balance of richness and caffeine kick—easily one of the best I’ve had. I paired it with an almond croissant that was flaky, buttery, and just the right amount of sweet. My husband had one of their beers, which was crisp and refreshing, perfect for a laid-back afternoon. On top of the fantastic drinks and food, the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Whether you’re in the mood for coffee, beer, or a tasty pastry, this place is a must-visit!

We rented the barrel room for a co-ed baby shower. About 70 guests came and were very comfortable. There was space for a gift table, dessert table, photo spot, buffet set up, and plenty of seating. They have a blue tooth sounds system you can use for your own Playlist and a projector and screen for video presentations. The room has its own bar and bartender. It was absolutely perfect and very reasonable! We enjoyed April, our bartender, very much! I will definitely be planning more events here!

Excellent IPAs and Sours. I liked the chill atmosphere and it was a great place to work after getting into Houston. It’s in a cozy part of town and there’s another brewery nearby so it makes the trip a no-brainer.

A patron since they opened after Petrol Station closed. Always a B+ brewery but after the head brewer change of a year ago...wow, their beers may be the best in the city. Before they were dependably solid, but now it's next level. Photos of Stella WCIPA and The Drip.

Tasty beer and great atmosphere! Blue Tile IPA was one of my personal favorites! Loved the murals and the covered patio!

One of the better ones in Houston - anywhere that can coordinate a fresh hopped IPA knows what they're doing. You'll have to bring your own food or luck into a food truck. Neat hidden garden.
