Great Lakes Pot Pies

Stopped in today after driving past for years Chicken pot pie: 5/5 the herb crust was top notch. The sauce was really good. Would pick up again. Apple pot pie: 3/5 the crust was great and the apples were good. But together they did not bind well. The sauce may have needed to be thicker as well as the apples sliced thinner. Overall great savory pot pie. Would get again, but would pass on the apple pie.

These are the kinds of random places I discover on Tiktok. Not a sit down place. Picked up a chicken pot pie they had ready and it was absolutely delicious! Also grabbed some frozen pasties/pies. One is labeled "Thanksgiving in a pie" which I eagerly look forward to. They also have some sweet stuff I'm coming back for. Just 2 dudes in the back making pies all day. Perfect fall food.

These pies are amazing. I have served them many times - always getting rave reviews! They are great for entertaining - book club, card parties, as well as an easy weeknight dinner for the family. Great Lakes Pot Pies taste like homemade!

The vegan pot pie is absolutely delicious. The crust is very buttery tasting and the inside is full of vegetables, although I wish there was a mushroom-free option. Purchased frozen and took slightly longer to cook than the instructions on the package, the result was amazing. I will definitely be back. I recommend for vegan / vegetarians!

A MUST TRY! I stopped here on a whim while driving home. Someone immediately came from the back to greet me, walked me through the menu, how they’re prepared, etc.. I walked out with a chicken pot pie for me & thanksgiving for my sis. SO GOOD!! It’s the upgrade you never knew you needed. Can’t wait to order from these wonderful ladies!

When we saw the chicken pot pie in our local Meijer, we decided to take a chance on a premium frozen pot pie. We were delighted to taste seasoning in the crust and encountered shredded, not cubed, chicken within, surrounded by tasty vegetables. Simply put, we can never go back to a cubed chicken product again. We placed an order for a beef pot pie and misc hand pies, in order to try them all, and we pick them up this week. Can hardly wait. Thank you for such a simply lovely product.

Brenda came into my store couple weeks ago and still had a couple pies left. Man were they good. Comes in today and boss says he's buying me lunch😋 So chicken pot pie & cinnamon sugar pie chips. So yummy. Didn't know you had to call it 1 hour advance for them to cook it but I am so thankful that they already had one cooked.

These are delicious and a healthy easy lean. Their dough and spices are what makes it so yummy!!

Great place if you like pot pies and dessert. So I bought a variety of pot pies to try so I'll share my reviews of each: The chicken pot pie: Really good the pie crust they use is top notch and is packed with good portion of large chunks of chicken and veggies. Chocolate Pecan pie: was amazing def recommend pairing with the above chicken pot pie for dessert. Taco Pot Pie: gotta say this was really good unique creation with great taco seasoning making it well worth trying. Thanksgiving in a pie: Well another unique very tasty pie. The cranberry really gives it a nice sweet to go With the savory turkey . Well worth trying. Meatball Pot Pie: meh. This was truly lacking flavor and texture I would expect. Very bland marinara which was watery with chewy bland meatballs that needed breadcrumbs in them. Not something I recommend trying.

I love the broad selection of very tasty pot pies! Will I return? Absolutely, yes. Tip: GroupOn can save you a few dollars.

Solid pot pies here, although their crust is just a little heavier than I like. We tried three pot pies: meatball, chicken, and beef stew. The ch Ike's pot pie was a little bland for my taste, lacked something to really make it pop. The beef stew pot pie was very good, and I enjoyed it for many days! The meatball pot pie was the overall winner for the evening: the 12yr old, 16yr old and two adults all agreed that was the overall favorite. Would I go back? Sure!

OMG my family is obsessed with these pot pies- Tips: -Start with the meatball pot pie. My husband found the 9" in the freezer and made it for himself and then couldn't stop eating it. He said it was the best pot pie he's ever had in his life. (And he's tough to impress in general- he's not a foodie normally) - the hand pies can be microwaved so perfect for kids, hot days/no oven or elderly. -the 5" pies are perfect for a dinner party and all you do is pop them into the oven. Serve with salad and you're done. -order online to make sure all the flavors are available to you. These are popular and sell out. -check back for specials! They have chili pot pies right now!

Food is great. Service is lacking. I was left to sit while a personal call was answered. They offer a rewards system and get irritated when you try to use it. Counter staff needs to be friendlier and less frantic.

I stopped by here the other day, as I had won a gift card from an Instagrammer I follow. I live in Clawson and had seen the store before, but have never stopped in. I don't eat pot pie very often but I do enjoy it. I ended up buying both a 5" chicken pot pie ($9.50), which can probably feed 1-2 people, as well as a 5" chocolate pecan pie ($7). I haven't had the chicken pot pie yet at the time of this review, but my mom and I split the chocolate pecan pie this weekend, and it was DELICIOUS. They also have meatball pot pies, which I think my dad would like; vegetable pot pies; and even gluten-free pot pies. Most of the pot pies (the savory ones, at least) are frozen, and you just pop it in the oven for 50-60 minutes to cook. I did see on their website that if you want your pie to be hot upon pickup, you can call them at least an hour beforehand, and they will have it ready to go for you. Service was friendly too, and I'll definitely be back at some point after I eat my chicken pot pie!

The service was great. And when I got home and cooked my chicken pot pie it was a great ad the service.

OK, I get that people like the meat pies, but for those of us who are vegetarian (or vegan or gluten free -- they have those options too), it is a very rare find. Great Lakes Pot Pies has options for all of us, which is quite a treat. I drove a half hour just to test this place out (based on their radio plug) , and I am SOOOO loving my dinner. Those of you out their who crave non-meat pot pies reallly need to support this place (although, I am sure when my meat-loving husband gets home, he will want to try that version, as well. I just can't speak to that option, but I'm sure the crust is the same, and it's terrific).

if you want a real treat. you're going to love these homemade pot pies.come fresh frozen..just pop them in the oven for a hour and you're house is filled with a aroma of down on the farm goodness...I can't speak enough about them..the staff is friendly helpfull a must try

My wife and I have been getting pot pies from Great Lakes Pot Pies for a little more than a year now. Everything we have had is delicious. One thing I have to point out is, in the fall you have to try their Thanksgiving Pot Pie. IT IS AMAZING!!!! We started getting them at the Royal Oak Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. Now we can get them at their store on 14 Mile in Clawson. Stop get a couple different pies and put them in the freezer for that day you don't know what to fix for dinner.

My mother and I stopped in today. She was looking for some meals post surgery for her and never heard of the store. ( I'm out of state). She is allergic to anise/ fennel ( in addition, it super messes up with high blood medications). She wanted the Italian meatball pot pies, but I was worried about fennel that is found in sweet Italian meatballs. The guy at the counter didn't think so, but asked the staff out back. I read the ingredients on the package and saw they listed individual herbs and no fennel. But the counter guy insisted we wait until the third confirmation that there was none in the recipe. There was none. Bonus! Excellent customer service and excellent pies. I found out later my local brother has purchased from here, so my mother will have a source for future pies. We all need a great pot pie.

There's not much to say; the pies are fantastic, everyone inside the business is kind and attentive, and it's a quick in-and-out trip whenever I've been in there. I've never been let down by Great Lakes Pot Pies, and I will continue to buy their product until I can't. I've been eating the pies for years now and I've never been disappointed, always satisfied and excited to eat one as soon as I get home.

I purchased a Great Lakes Pie at the RO Farmers Market. The small pot pies are around $10 and we turned it into a 'light' lunch for two with a small salad or something on the side. You could easily eat one on your own, but it would be a filling meal!! The pies are vacuum packed and easy to heat up. It does take some time to reheat.. about and hour, but worth the wait!

There may be other places to get a pot pie, but there are none that I have found that can remotely compare to any from Great Lakes Pot Pie Company. Fresh made daily by a large masked staff madly assembling deliciousness within a tight, few hundred square feet behind the counter. It is a sight to behold. So much good eats are stuffed into each pie, so much butter in a flakey crust, you will rush home to anxiously "await the bake". We have enjoyed about 6 pies so far with a new one (Thanksgiving Pie- a specialty) in the freezer for dinner tomorrow. We found them through Groupon but haven't let that deter us from a delicious full priced pie...they are that good!

Stopped into today to pick up a chicken pot pie because I had a Groupon for it. Neither my husband or I liked it. It had some type of seasoning in it that ruined it for us. I also bought my husband a pasty with gravy on the side. Hoping that is better.

Well damn! How did I not know about this gem sooner! I ordered a holiday potpie, a small meatball, and 2 hand pies as meal options to get my husband and I through the most recent lockdown. All winners! And the customer service was spot on. While you can microwave the hand pies, I very much recommend baking as the crust is so flaky! I will be buying again for sure. These are great low-energy dinners to have on hand.

I recently purchased over $100 worth of pot pies. SIx chicken, two beef, and two thanksgiving pot pies. The chicken pot pie was filling but, the thanksgiving one was very disappointing though, sad to say. It barely had any turkey at all, and I don't think it was worth $15 dollars. Haven't tried the beef yet, but will be soon. I like this company but that turkey one upset me, it should have been more actual turkey instead of 4-6 tiny cubes of turkey inside.

We felt super fortunate to get their last chicken pot pie last night. It was exceptional! We can't wait to go back and try their Thanksgiving, vegan, and vegetable pot pies.

Well, my aunt brought me down a meatball pot pie to TN from GLPP and it's my new must have when I'm back in MI. The pie was perfect! The meatballs were amazing, the marinara was on point and the crust and cheese were delicious. I'm a foodie and I wouldn't change a thing! I can't wait to try the broccoli cheese quiche hand pocket for breakfast tomorrow! Delicious!!! Move to Mount Juliet, TN please!

I drove by and saw the sign for this company. I can't tell you how excited I was to see that they were opening a store. I have bought pot pies from them several times at the Royal Oak Farmer's Market. Their pies are the best that I have ever eaten! They have several varieties in addition to their original Chicken Pot Pie including Meatball & Cheese and vegetarian. My favorite is their thanksgiving pie which has turkey, stuffing and veggies in a cornbread crust. I stopped to visit the store but they're not open yet. It looks like they're getting close. I can't wait!

OMG this as good if not better than my wife's and that says a lot. Eating a 5" beef stew and I cannot stop. I bought 1 of each flavor and I guess I've got dinner for a few nights!!

Saw someone posted on Neighborhood Watch. Not much to do today so took a ride. Bought a Chicken Pot Pie for ourselves and several more for friends Preheated oven to 400 put frozen pie on cookie sheet as directed baked one hour as directed. It was delicious. Took a lot of restraint not to finish Pie with my wife at one sitting.

Ordered 4 hand pies (2 chicken and 2 beef stew) and a small chicken pot pie at the Farmington Farmers market today, and my husband and I both ate a hand pie for lunch. We loved them! The crust is flaky and delicious, and the filling for both were seasoned great! We loved these and will definitely be getting more soon

We ordered their Thanksgiving in a Pie for our meal yesterday and it was extraordinary! Absolutely delicious! Even the thick part of the edge of the crust was scrumpteous! This has been such a sad year for us all and this pie was so comforting, so easy, such a treat! Thank you Great Lakes Pot Pies for putting out such a wonderful meal! Earlier in the fall we had purchased their chicken pot pie and that was wonderful as well. If you are looking for a quality, delicious, comforting, nourishing meal....look no further! Let's support our Clawson small businesses and be good to ourselves! GREAT place! Will order again (and again...lots of options we're looking forward to trying). Hope they come out with a customer loyalty program once things get better........
