We hosted our wedding in their private barrel room on 11/01/2025 and it was perfect! We wouldn't have changed a thing. Thank you, for the outstanding customer service throughout the booking experience and the actual event. Everyone was fantastic and ready to help. The event space was beautiful and just perfect for what we wanted. We were so pleased and we highly recommend GWR for your next event. We chose the private event space for our wedding because we love coming here on Sundays. The pizza is delicious, we love the relaxing environment and great beverages. Plus it's always clean!

Less talked about (at least seems to be) but has some of the best cocktails in Charlotte. Pizza is solid too. The staff is always nice, welcoming and atmosphere makes you feel at home.

Wonderful inventive cocktails, outdoor patio, live music occasionally, dog friendly, bar gal is amazing, fairly good parking but I would ride share here so you can have fun and be safe. Oh, one of the best things is they can sell bottles of their spirits on Sunday in case you missed a trip to the liquor store during the week. They have food available also. We love supporting local. The pizzas are yummy. We were here on open mic night and Bobby was the best!

This place is fantastic! I missed the chance of going when it was located down near Sugar Creek Brewing and Queen City Social so I am so glad I found this location while searching for good drinks! My friend and I went on a Tuesday night and I believe our bartenders name was Emily, who was also wonderful and patient with us as we stared at their impressive drink selection for probably too long. She even offered to whip up a mocktail for my friend! We ended up choosing the lavender lemonade, a peach whiskey sour, and the key lime mule. The mule was probably one of the best drinks I’ve ever had! Will be back for that drink alone and the friendly staff. They had music trivia that night and the host was fun and kept the crowd laughing! The outdoor patio is gorgeous, plenty of parking was available and the food was delicious! While the pickle pizza wouldn’t hold up to Rhino’s in New York - it came in at a close second! The pretzels and beer cheese were next level!! TLDR; fun drinks, friendly staff, phenomenal food - go try them out yourself!

Great spirits, cocktails, beer and pizza. We like going on Wednesdays for open mic night. Our bartender Bobby does excellent Guinness pours. Was busy tonight and we did not wait long for our drinks. Plenty of parking.

Went on a Sunday afternoon. Not too crowded. Sat outside where they had music playing and sports events on the TV's. Nice relaxed atmosphere with many people bringing their dogs for afternoon cocktails. We didn't do a tour or a tasting . Tried their Quinn's Old Fashion which was delicious but a little pricey for a local distillery in my opinion. My wife had their Manhatten which she absolutely loved. They have a good menu of apps,salads and pizza. Nice cocktail list along with flights. Bottles are available for purchases. Would love to do a tour and a tasting next time in the area.

Awesome place! Went to see live jazz music which is held in the back. The pizza was sooo good! I added sausage to the pizza that had cheese and a white sauce and I can't wait to try it again. They had a lot of great options and one pizza is enough for 2/3 people to share. Our bartender was really knowledgeable and friendly. He gave a lot of recommendations for specials and they were affordable and delightful.

The service was EXCELLENT! I went during my visit in Charlotte NC and they were so kind to me. The drinks are DELICIOUS, the ambiance is casual. It's perfect for those who live nearby and want a night cap or nice hang out

Okay I really liked this place?? Felt so tucked away, I've lived a mile or so from here for a year and had no idea! They have good vibes, seating both inside and outside, dogs could hang, drinks were 10/10. I noticed they had an espresso martini tree / flight situation so I will definitely be back !!!! My drink was like a bees knees with Irish moonshine and it tasted like a sip of spring. Bartenders were friendly, bonus points for cool accents! They have food options as well - we all know we should have a snack whilst drinking. You can pop in with a quick walk from 36th St light rail station. There is street parking if that's your thing. It's in Noda, though felt a little quieter than the main strip! So glad we stopped by, just wish we had sooner!

Great Wagon Road has a large selection of cocktails to select from. I had the salted caramel Irish coffee. I enjoyed it . My husband tried the deconstructed lemon sorbet martini. It was unique , tasty and and presented in a unique way. And my son had a hot toddy. The drinks were all very good. They offer a variety food offerings and the pizza seemed to be the popular choice. There was live music which was very good. A comfortable environment to enjoy music and cocktails.

Now this is a better business I've added manually! So one thing I like to do when getting food or drink from international airports is I like to look for places where I can't get this kind of thing at home. Thankfully with Charlotte, you can just look for the "CLT" to look for Carolina Original spots that opened up in the airport. My bigger reason for coming here though is because back in 2023 when I played over for like 6 hours at this airport, I came here when it was The Broken Spoke and got a Campari/Perrier mix-up to start the lay-over. Since my last visit, this place has gone under new management and has now become Great Wagon Road Distilling Company. However, they do have a drink called "The Broken Spoke", and given the memory of what I had the last time I was here, I went with that. Honestly, I wasn't expecting this to be quite so strong as it was, but I had 2 and this led to me being buzzed pretty much the rest of my layover. In fact, it even led to some drunken ordering that I will speak about in a couple other reviews. This drink has RUA Single Malt Whiskey, Benedictine, Amaro Montenegro, and a Zested Orange Rim. It was good, I just did not expect it to hit that strong. I'm sure everyone in Charlotte loved seeing me prance around the terminals like an idiot. Actually, let's talk about my bartender Isabela for a moment. So when I had told her my order, she originally wasn't sure it was even on the menu. Luckily for both of us, she'd checked to see if she had the ingredients. Turns out, she did, and she was able to get it done. She's actually nice bartender, and kind of like what I was saying in one of my other airport reviews, I applaud anyone who can keep their demeanor in an airport setting when people have to board flights to anywhere. She was actually the one to tell me about the name change which I actually appreciated as it was a confusing sight for me when I had landed in Charlotte. All in all, a good stop if you have time between flights. Just make sure you finish your drinks well before boarding, and don't let the name change scare you.

Just stopped in since Salud Cerviceria served their beer for a Boilermaker. They don't do tour but happily offered a taste. They have great daily specials. The bartenders Shawn and Delphine were very friendly. Will definitely return.

Omg! If you ever need to host a private event, this is the place to do it. Affordable, allows catering, amazing drinks provided (Bartender Collin), accommodating and helpful host (Ashley). Throwing my mother's surprise 65th birthday here was a dream! 10/10 would recommend.

This was a very nice spot to grab pizza and drinks from. My friend and I both enjoyed their pretzel,salad and meat lovers pizza! I highly recommend this place for a quick bite to eat or pregame in noda. Our bartender was very friendly and the inside is pretty spacious! I enjoyed my time here. Will return on a Sunday for their specials!

I can't say enough fantastic things about Great Wagon Road Distilling. I was initially looking at the venue to rent out the back-barrel room for a company cocktail meet-up. Ashely was so quick to respond, friendly, and accommodating. Our team wanted to expand the idea into a cocktail-making class, and the Great Wagon team made it incredible! They set up the barrel room to be cozy and comfortable. They took our group and created small groups for tasting, educating, and drink-making. The food was delicious and so accommodating to dietary restrictions. Thank you guys so much!!

Great venue. Live music Televisions for March Madness! Service by Adam was above five star. Adam offered to take pictures of our family. truly appreciated! The pizza is amazing! The dough is awesome! As a New Yorker, this is sLome good ass pizza. There was a live band playing great music of a varof genres. The beer, I had, Juicy Jay, was enjoyable, a great IPA! GOOD VIBES ALL AROUND!

The Great Wagon Distilling Company is a local distillery known mostly for their malt whiskey blends although they also dabble in other spirits including gin and vodka. You can find their products around the city, but if you care to go to the source then you can their main location in the NoDa area, a little ways past NoDa proper and not too far from the Sugar Creek Station. It is definitely worth the trip, because if you feel like hanging out, they have live music during the summer along with delicious pizzas and a fantastic cocktail menu. I have been several times and think their cocktails are some of the best in the city, and the pizza hits the spot! I also really enjoy their signature whiskey Rua and have gifted it to several family friends and family members so that they could enjoy a taste of Charlotte. Even if you only have time to pop in to grab a bottle of spirits, I highly recommend making the trip!

Huge thanks to Great Wagon Road Distillery for helping make my husband's birthday a wonderful and memorable night! From the events planner, Ashely, to the bartenders and staff; everyone was friendly, helpful, and attentive to ensure we were happy. The Barrel Room is divine! It feels like you have been transported to the prohibition era; hidden, big yet intimate, charming, masculine, just perfect! There are tvs, music playing to your liking, pool table, and ample seating. The drinks were also superb! My husband enjoyed every whiskey drink he tried. The margarita and mules were also delicious! Whether hosting an event, or stopping in just to hang out I highly recommend Great Wagon Road. It's like no place in Charlotte!

I recently seen this place on fb and it caught my eye. So hubby and I stopped in for a drink and was really impressed. The bartender was super friendly and helpful and very quick at making drinks. I could not resist trying the deconstructed raspberry sorbet martini and it was so fun and refreshing! Hubby enjoyed his old fashion as well. On sundays if you buy 2 signature cocktails you get a free pizza! We did not know this and already ate before we came. But next time!!

Pizza and slushees!!! What's better on a Friday night? These pizzas would be perfect to split, but we didn't know that and ordered two pizzas. Loved that there was the option for vegan cheese! Pizza leftovers heated up well too at home. Noticed an excellent lineup of specials! Good chill ambiance - I really enjoyed the comfy arm chairs. Looking forward to trying some more of their cocktails, but they also had a good lineup of beer options!

Enjoyed my first visit to Great Wagon. The bartender was was welcoming and knowledgeable. Explained the distilling process and what made their spirits unique. I started with the grapefruit mule. It was refreshing and tasty, but didn't have enough alcohol. It was also kind of pricey. I also had a gin and tonic which was part of their daily special. There was ample outdoor seating. Overall, a good experience.

I really enjoyed this spot! I went on a Friday evening and it was fully adorned with the holiday spirit, including a tall Christmas tree. Food and drinks are "order at the bar" style with a buzzer for food. The bartender was super friendly and helpful when I told him my whiskey cocktail preferences, and the drink was both strong and tasty. The pizza was the traditional brick-oven thin crust floppy type (yum!)...perfect for a night of drinking. And definitely enough for 2-3 people to share. They played some nice contemporary tunes in the background and had the dimly-lit nighttime feel. I enjoyed the vibe and would totally god back!

Was in town for work and searched out an open mic night to hear the local musicians. Tried their Rua whiskey and really liked it. Reminiscent of a great Irish with an American twist. "Noda Funky" Pizza was amazing and perfectly cooked. Crust was an amazing a New Haven / Neapolitan style. Perfectly crispy but soft. Cooked well and not over done. Also, good price for what you get (on the large size). Bartender Bobby was superb and knows how to pour a proper pint of Guinness.

The cocktails are on point here and I love the live music but I wish they still had the food options that they used to have.

I ordered a "caprese salad" yesterday and this is what was served. The price was not on the menu and it turned out to be $15 for this.

Do you love not knowing prices? I hate it. Every single menu here has not one price listed. So rude and so annoying. Enjoy the face of your bartender as you ask for the cost of every drink? No thanks I'll just suffer the consequences of my tab and then never come back. Luckily the drinks, bartenders, and environment is good.

Our first of many stops on our weekend adventure. As we approached the entrance to this establishment, we noticed a stage set up with equipment for a group performance. To our delight, a duo was scheduled to perform within the hour. We ordered drinks and a pizza and waited for the performance which was outstanding! During the spring/summer months, there are weekend performers scheduled. If you find yourself in Metro Charlotte area - NoDa (North of Davidson) check this place out. Great selection of craft beers, ciders, and spirits.

Our first visit here upon visiting Charlotte. The ambiance is casual and cool. The weather was good, so the interior was open to the outside. There is ample space outside on a newly constructed patio, which also housed a small performance stage. Although they are a spirits maker, they had beer on draught too. My wife had a dark beer, while I had their Quinn's Whiskey. It was an excellent suggestion from the bartender. It is very similar to a bourbon. We ordered a 12" pepperoni pizza. It came out quickly and was very good. The crust was just how we like it, thin and a little chewy. As we sat outside, the act they booked began to play. It was a woman from Virginia and her boyfriend. They were outstanding! We watched as the staff frequently disinfected the tables as each guest left. Great service, friendly staff, good food and drink. Highly recommended.

This was a really nice spot for some whiskey, Mixed drinks, and appetizers on a cold, rainy Saturday. The whiskeys were all good, though I was partial to the Irish moonshine (poitin). The hummus trio was great, but would have benefited from more pita and cucumbers for dipping. I didn't try the pizza, but it looked amazing. Only set back her OS the cost, particularly of the mixed drinks, which will run you about $15 per.

My fiance had originally wanted to go here with it being known as Broken Spoke, and as we were parking, we realized there was no Broken Spoke in sight. We eventually had to google map it and realized that they had changed their name to Great Wagon Road. Once inside, my fiance had ordered an old fashioned, and I had ordered what I can remember, a tequila based drink. Both drinks were delicious. We were sitting in the indoor section for quite some time until we realized someone had gotten up from the firepit. For the place being half indoors/half outdoor, the indoor section was actually pretty darn cold. We immediately darted towards the firepit to warm ourselves up. I love love the firepit aesthetics to this place, and with Covid going on still, I wish they added a few more firepits to the place as it's really cold outside lately. Nevertheless, the drinks and vibes were awesome, and I definitely plan to return in the future. After it gets warm though :)

We went here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We were the first ones there. We ordered an old fashion and their seasonal spicy margarita along with the Noda Funky pizza with added pepperoni. The space is open inside with a good size shaded patio. They have live music on weekend nights. The pizza was tasty and unique. The crust was delicious and it's all handmade to order. Staff was super friendly and pets are allowed outside. They serve drinks and cocktails which is perfect for my husband and I because I don't drink beer. Must visit distillery that is walking distance from the bustling heart of NoDa.

I came here with my friend during the covid area. We were looking for great cocktails outside and a place that wouldn't be packed. This place didn't disappoint from the drinks to the food. Would highly recommend. I had a basic cheese pizza with bacon added and it was absolutely delicious but also massive so would recommend splitting it with a friend or definitely getting a to go box. My drink was also delicious and refreshing. It utilized the gin made in house and I definitely purchased a bottle to as it was both delicious and a local distillery.

Love this place!! Great place to hang out for a few drinks. This is also the best pizza I've had in Charlotte, which is surprising for an Irish distillery that just happens to do pizza!

This place has good whisky and good food. It needs a little more vibe inside for the Noda resident. Pizzas are a hit but also a slight miss. Chicken and waffle amazing, they use spring water which gives the dough a very nice texture. Pepperoni was too cheesy, too greasy, and too saucy. Crust couldn't hold up. Easy tweak. I will be back. The drinks... They always have a barrel special and it's usually top notch. All they need is a little more atmosphere, another TV so we can watch some sports...outside and in. Maybe a slight tweak in their ratios on food so that grease doesn't overpower their amazing crust. Bartenders are amazing! Super friendly and professional. I promise you, there is greatness here, just needs to be unveiled.

One of my favorite places for socializing with a few cocktails and some of the best bar food anywhere. We spend a good deal of time in the Charlotte area and this is my go-to when a group of us go out. There is so much to explore in the NoDa District, but this is always our rendezvous point when it's time to eat. Everything on the menu is made fresh to order and the Pizzas are a must try. Our favorites are the Dill Pickle, the Chicken & Waffle, and the Hawaiian. This is also a working distillery and their Rúa Single Malt is one of my favorite whiskies. All Cocktails are made with fresh ingredients and they've now added Cheerwine/Quinn's Whiskey and Sundrop/Salamander Vodka Slushes. I usually stick with Rúa with a rock, the Broken Spoke, Old Fashioned, or the Gold Rush, but the Key Lime & Cherry Limeade Mule, Gin & Tonic, and Gimlet are family favorites. They also serve an impressive selection of local and big name beers and wines. With only an exception or two, we've found the bartenders to be some of the best and most personable around. They boast Large TV's both inside and out as well as a stage in their covered outdoor area for live, local music. Picnic tables, outdoor furniture, corn hole boards, and fire pits provide plenty of seating/entertainment for large groups. They are pet and kid friendly. They have an event space available to book for any and all types of parties, and a small FREE parking lot. This place gets my highest recommendation.

This place is awesome! The cocktails were yummy. Food was also super good. It all came out really quickly too. I loved everything. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. She had great recommendations. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, as well as parking options. Although I did not see dogs there, I am guessing it is dog friendly outside. I will definitely be returning for the Sunday special with my pup for some pizza and drinks!

Our son and daughter-in-law wanted to bring my husband and me here for the tour. Reservations are made in advance. The tour doesn't take very long at all. Husband has an affinity for the art of distilling whiskey as he was taught by his grandfather who came over from Slovakia in the early 1900s. It was kind of cool that the owner of this distillery was taught by his Irish grandfather. The guide gave our small group of six people a quick explanation of the distilling process and the history of how the company came into being. Also, he was willing to answer any questions. Our group is pretty knowledgeable when it comes to making whiskey. At the end of the tour, we were given the opportunity to try three tastings. The Rua is the popular choice. Very good sipping whiskey.

We each did a flight board featuring their distilled products and loved all of the flight! 3 out of the 4 of us went the whiskey flight. We agreed that the Quinn and Poitin were our favorites! After the flight 2 of us enjoyed the feisty Irish margarita and the other two enjoyed old fashions. Although delicious we found the old fashions to be a bit steep in price ($16). This seems like a great place to come and hangout. I definitely think we will be back in warmer months to enjoy the outdoor seating!

Came here with friends last night. (Saturday) It's a nice new setup and vibe. Had the bourbon flight and an old fashioned. I enjoyed the flight especially, as the bourbon was quite smooth and tasty! The Bartender was pleasant, professional , and fun. Will definitely be back!

Great distillery amongst several breweries in the area. The night I came in, there was live music-it was amazing-loud enough and It's right next to sugar creek, and across the street from OMB. I didn't do the tour because it was fairly late, but I did get to try a few things, and there was a great crowd even on a week night. The place is pretty-upscale but still casual enough not to feel stuffy. There's a bar and "lounge" area separated by a small wall, and I believe if I remember correctly there was a second floor for seating (could be totally wrong there-it's been a few years). The staff was accommodating, and there was parking right outside (although definitely close enough to Uber from downtown). Add this to your stop-you won't be sorry you did!

Brooke was super cool. I went in with just cash, she poured my drink and once advising it was card only - she said the drink was on the house and 'welcome'. Great spot, better service. Thanks Brooke!

Perfection. Handcrafted spirits made with local spring water and no artificial preservatives, additives or junk. Amazing venue supporting local musicians. Fantastic Pizza, pretzels and Sandwiches. This is what local community is all about - genuinely awesome staff. We are so lucky to have these guys in NODA!

Stopped in to check out the distillery and get a tour. Tour times are pretty limited but we were fortunate enough to have one of the guys take us. Tour cost is $5. Tour time minus the tasting time is 5 min or less. We basically stepped into the area - then he pointed out the pot still and column still, walked past where they were bottling/labelling bottles and that was it. The mash bill is made up at the brewery across the street and the fermenters are the ones from the brewery.. none in this facility so they take the fermented mash and distill it. It makes sense to do it that way... just makes for a short tour. It is all in one room before you go back to where the barrels are stored. The tasting was pretty good. There were two clear liquors that I don't remember and two brown whiskey ones. The Rua was actually pretty good- normally craft distillers push whiskey out as soon as they can and it is usually not very good (IMO) but this Rua was good and the price for a bottle was not cray high.. very reasonable. We got one bottle of it. Save the tour cost and just try the whiskey. If you like it, you can buy a bottle there or at local liquor stores.

Is there anything better than locally crafted whiskey? Crafted Gin! Crafted Vodka, and it's all so good! Friends seem to prefer the Quinns but my favorite is the Rua which will remind you of a Smokey single malt scotch. Haven't had anything here I didn't like...

Wheel, as a whisky aficianada; I'm a fan. Lendel is a wry treat at the bar. No, you can't buy more than one bottle per year directly from the store and only after a tour as a souvenir and after they scan your license - thank you #NCABC #STATEOFNC for saving us from ourselves? #bottomlines. I had discovered Rua whisky at another bar and had already purchased it for my home bar. I'm so excited that Charlotte has this great distiller and I know Rua holds up to finer Irish Whisky's such as Powers Gold and Knappogue Castle. I tried the Quinn which has quite the bite and imho better suited to a mixed drink. And so... The menu seems solid from a tapas/shared plate view. Good choice of meats, etc... Tho nothing tried at this first visit. *UPDATE* On a 2nd visit tried the Sausage Rolls! They were very tasty, although the little chunks of sausage kept falling out and made it messier than it needed to be. The dilled mustard dipping sauce was really good. Lounge seating for the most part. Probably quite crowded at busy times. Nice long bar. Try all of their offerings, 2 (or 3?) whisky's, 1 vodka first and then move on if you must. Quite special on the libation scene in Charlotte. I recommend the small box of Rua whisky European-style chocolate cordials for a take-home treat. Looking forward to many happy returns (by Uber) ;). I wrote this same review for The Broken Spoke and wanted to make sure I covered both bases.

Great Wagon has been our go to since learning of their existence 2 years ago. Never a problem finding parking which is a huge plus for me near Noda. Also very dog friendly. We usually get the pretzels with beer cheese or a pizza. Their pizza is excellent - and that's coming from a northerner with very high pizza standards. Bar tenders are always so knowledgeable and friendly. Taken me two years to review but they are so deserving of 5 stars and more recognition!
