Great Wall

First time in Murfreesboro and we were craving Chinese takeout and this was so amazing! Plain lo Mein noodles, sweet and sour chicken, and broccoli w/beef were so flavorful! Don’t even get me started with the crab Rangoons!! We were so happy to find this place, absolutely made our entire trip!

My husband and I were excited to try this place as most of the reviews are 4-5 stars(even though they are not leaving comments) leads me to believe they are paid for. We order Beef & Broccoli it has no flavor it was just bland and the meat if very chewy. The Shrimp Egg roll were not bad but only 1 shrimp in each one. The fried rice has almost NOTHING in it but a few peas and a few carrots and was hardly fried. It was very mushy. The Boneless Spare Ribs we ok, it was a large portion, but very chewy. Even the Fortune cookies seamed to be stale. Will have to keep hunting for a good Chinese Restaurant.

i have since moved to florida and this great wall has ruined lo mein for me. their lo mein is SO good that everywhere else falls short, my family still misses this great wall. run by a really nice family, *never* had bad food here.

I ate here for lunch on 6/18/24. I ordered the Hot and Spicy Chicken off the lunch menu. The food was excellent. Hot and tasty. I would recommend this restaurant.

I ordered beef lo mein via Uber eats, and while in the middle of eating, I noticed a dead bug in my noodles. Definitely will stay away from this place and will tell everyone to do the same.

I love this place and stop here for soup and dishes at least three times a week!! The food is delicious 😋

I was out here doing a pet sitting job and needed some food close by and I was excited when I saw the Great Wall. Absolutely the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. I ordered beef and vegetables and I’m really not sure WHAT kind of meat it was because it was light brown, not dark like beef, and looked all chopped up, it was bland and had no flavor. It was weird and I hesitated eating it at all. I’m sorry but it’s true. I also ordered hot and sour soup….again terrible and had no spice whatsoever. Hot and sour? Nope. Just bland until I added stuff. I usually don’t take the time to leave reviews and am usually easy to impress, but this food was a waste of money. Compared to most of the Chinese food I’ve ever gotten, this was terrible. I’m like…”where is the flavor?” If it weren’t for a BUNCH of soy sauce and duck sauce, it would’ve had no flavor at all. I ate it because I was starving. I’m really sorry to be so negative but it was really bad.

We were feeling lazy after a long weekend and got takeout for dinner. I ordered ahead and when I arrived 20 minutes later, the food was there waiting for me still hot and smelling delicious. Everything was packaged neatly and there weren't any casualties on the way home. A lot of takeout places will haphazardly throw stuff in your bag and leave you with a mess to clean when you open the bag, but not this place. The food tasted great and we only had one issue, the rice in our fried rice was undercooked and had a noticeable crunch when bitting into it. We also got the kung pao chicken, Mongolian beef, and lo mein. These were all good, but the beef in the Mongolian beef lacked flavor. They try to put their own spin on the dishes they serve and it makes for a delicious meal. Definitely give this place a shot if you're in the area and craving some solid Chinese.

Came by here the other day for some boneless short ribs! They were yummy! I haven't been a big fan of the Chinese food out here in Tennessee. It's much different than the Chinese food in California and China for that matter, but I did enjoy the boneless ribs very much

This review is going to reflect cleanliness the rest of our food was fine but in no way shape or form should there be any contaminants or mold in any food at all!

Ordered the shrimp + broccoli, fried rice and wonton soup. I am very happy that they did not skimp on the shrimp and they were very large in size, however the main dish seriously lacked in flavor. The wonton soup and fried rice were great though. I would order again but maybe try something else?

Food was sub par. 6 tiny pieces of chicken in the lunch portion of hunan chicken which should have been spicy and it was not. fried rice was watery I suspect it was white rice with just soy sauce. Vegetables we way overcooked.

Bourbon chicken, Orange Chicken and Mongolian Beef are great. Crab Rangoon and Dumplings are fire!

Great Wall is a good choice for Chinese Food. The food preparation is done in your view and everything is always fresh, hot and made to order, and it's never a long wait . I have always ordered to go but they have a dining area also. So I absolutely give them all 5 stars.

Best Chinese food we've found here so far. The food is made to order and not at all greasy. Love the plain lo mein and sweet and sour shrimp it's very heavy on the breading so I prefer the fried shrimp instead much better for my taste. My husband loves the hunan options. Give them a try they are worth it. Sorry it took us way too long to find this place. We've lived in the area for years and found this place less than 5 miles away from us.

Good food may take a little long after 5pm but it's really good the crab Rangoon is good

I had a hankering for some Chinese food when I was in Murfreesboro. The Great Wall had some of the best reviews of chinese restaurants in the area, so I was super excited to give it a try. The place itself is very minimal and tidy Small seating area with about four tables. We ordered the Mongolian Beef, General Tso's Chicken, and Crab Rangoon. We were served within 15 minutes. And portion sizes were generous. I'm giving this two stars. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the place. The food was just, lackluster. Also service could be better. They forgot about someone's order who came in before us, and she sat there about 30 minutes as a result.

The food is good but they have trouble with reading. For some reason getting sesame chicken even though they offer it is a problem. Two orders and both times they brought sweet and sour sauce and a carton of fried chicken dry. Good food but idiots running the place.

We chose this place due to the proximity to our home. Chose a variety of stuff to try only liked 2 of the items we ordered-The Mongolian beef and the vegetable lo meinwere the only things I enjoyed (my daughter liked her sesame chicken- I did not care for it). Friendly lady at the counter, waited about 15mins for our order. Not sure I'll be back

We've eaten from here several times. Our first experience wasn't the greatest, but we love Chinese and it's so close we decided to give it another shot. So glad we did!!! The food is truly really good. We've had so many things off the menu, but the Singapore Chow Mei Fun is AMAZING!

Love the great wall! Food is very good served hot. Our favorite place for takeout. Service is great and the wait is short for takeout. Always ready when I get there to pick up. ( only live couple miles away) we get the chicken on stick, fried rice, egg drop soup, egg rolls, chicken and broccoli, wonton soup, fried wontons. It's always consistent and very good.

Not the best I've ever eaten but not bad. Service is fast. They are doing well to keep any passing of germs between themselves and customers. Not bad on prices and quantity. The Econo Combos are nice since you get to choose 2 entrees, choice of rice and soup or egg roll. Probably will go again but no hurry.

Surprisingly good, most authentic NYC Chinese Food in Murfreesboro and surrounding areas. We tried it once a couple of months ago and visit once a week now. Owner is very nice and respectful. Definitely a family favorite, I love the wonton soup , kids enjoy lomein and house special fried rice mix. After 4 years of searching for satisfying Chinese take out, we are so happy to have stumbled into this place .

Until Great Wall, I hadn't found good Chinese take out in the Murfreesboro area. The combos are a great deal. The lo mein is excellent as were the sweet and sour chicken, fried rice, egg rolls, and General Tso's chicken. The prices are very reasonable, the staff was very kind, and the food was hot and fresh. I'm glad to finally find good Chinese food close by.

Went around mid dinner service. Ordered a couple meals to go and everything was hot and ready fast for pick up. Food was delicious. The whole family was happy.

I moved to Walter hill about 6 years ago and this place was the absolute best! I mean I would order the Buffalo chicken wings so much that the owner (a woman) knew my phone number by heart. Lol , I'm not sure where she has went but I ordered them last night and they were disgusting, my wings and lo mein were dry ...I haven't ordered in a couple months so maybe they have new cooks now but they should definitely get the old cooks back

This is close to us and the food is better than thw other similiar places we've tried.

Hidden gem in Walter Hill! Best crab Rangoon I've ever had. Their prices are a little more than normal, but it's worth it to me.

FINALLY!!! I FINALLY found some decent Chinese take out in Murfreesboro! I can't believe I waited so long to try this place! I ordered chicken with broccoli, chicken fried rice, lo mein, and some egg rolls for the family to try. We loved it! It tasted amazing and the flavor was on point. I am very picky about my Chinese food because we have an amazing restaurant in my hometown and I just couldn't find anything that compares, until Great Wall! Give it a try! You won't regret it!

I ordered house lo mein and chicken lo mein and both had a very good flavor; however it had no meat in it at all. I would not recommend this place at all.

Decent but not the best . Food was made quickly, fresh but lacked flavor . I have definitely had better fried rice . As a whole it would be a good go to spot without driving into Murfreesboro . This was my first time I will try again to get a better idea .

Not the best but it's good for late night when everyone else is closed. Chicken wings are pretty good. Orange chicken is the best thing in their menu & veggie fried rice is okay too. Typical fried food odor when you walk in. Spring rolls are super small & could improve on size but have ok flavor. Service is good, no real language barrier. Never had trouble here.

Best little Chinese restaurant in The Boro. A little out of the way and really easy to miss if you're not looking for it but worth the trip!

Good food, fast & pleasant service! We order takeout from here once a week (we live in Walter Hill), but definitely worth the drive if you are coming from further away. As I write this, my mouth is watering for some Cashew Chicken....they will be open in 10 minutes-I'll go ahead & make that call...

Great and convenient Chinese take out place! The lunch specials are reasonably price. My regular dishes are usually general tso's chicken and Hunan chicken and it's always cooked right! Their hot and sour soup is good and they give a big portion too. Fast and friendly service!

My wife loves this place. I'm not so much of a fan. Great service and food is fresh, I just don't like the way they cook the fried rice. Not my cup of tea. But it's great for some people so give them a try!

Great Chinese take out. The steamed dumplings are really good. My brother likes the chicken on a stick. Sweet and sour chicken and pork are always a family favorite.

This is the best Chinese food in the area!!! We have never been disappointed with anything we order from here! If you haven't tried Great Wall yet, you absolutely must. You can order online through Beyond Menu, too.

Out of the way and should stay that way. Egg Foo Yung that was burned on the outside and not cooked on the inside. Soup was flavored water. Shrimp roll had one shrimp in it. Next time I have a hankering for Chinese food I will go elsewhere.

This little place surprised me. Since moving to the north side of Murfreesboro, I have been on the look out for a great take out place. While out exploring the local neighborhoods, we ran across this place. Not knowing what to expect, we ordered the basic sesame chicken with noodles and an order of sweet and sour chicken with fried rice. The meal was cooked thoroughly. The sweet and sour chicken had a nice toast to them, the noodles were not drenching in oil, and the sesame chicken was cut in great proportionate sizes. If you live off of Memorial, make the call to Great Wall. It is worth the extra miles to Walter Hill.

Great food and great service! Always hits the spot! Especially like the crab rangoon, vegetable lo mein, and the orange chicken!

nasty place, not clean, I saw they using other customer leftover eggroll re fried, put in the new bags to serve new customer, never never never go back.
