Yelp
This remains one of my go to spots for Greek food in the WS area, a city with a wealth of Greek choices, and it has been that way for many, many years. Beginning in the early 1900's a steady flow of Greek immigrants came into the Triad area, from Burlington to Winston Salem, in particular.
Many of those immigrants worked initially in the restaurant area. Many eventually opened their own restaurants. and gradually added more and more traditional Greek dishes. This place opened in 1970. and my first visit here was in 1989.
The menu here is broad- offering several soup and salad choices, a few appetizers (Greek) and otherwise), Greek Specialty platters and sandwiches, pasta dishes, hamburgers, hot dogs. and even pizza.
I have over the years tried a great many dishes, and have liked the vast majority of them. The Chicken Souvlaki (sandwich or platter with Greek salad) is my favorite and is not topped by any version I've tried in this area, and only one is in the same league. The chicken chunks are well marinated and well grilled on skewers. The salad is very nice when doused with their house made Greek dressing.
I can recommend the hot dog, burger, Spaghetti with meat sauce, and all the sandwiches are good.
The only dishes I can not recommend are the Veal Parmesan (meat has no texture, very mushy, little flavor) and the Gyro. When I first ate the Gyro the meat was in chunks, was a medium brown in color, and had flavor and some tenderness - posted a close up picture on Yelp years ago. Now the meat is cut in rectangular slices, is black in color, and is tough and tasteless
The service here is generally good, though it can be a bit hectic at the peak hours.
