"Greco is the ultimate casual lunch on Newbury, perfect for when you need a quick refuel but don’t want to sacrifice flavor to speed. Owned by Greek hospitality group Xenia (which also owns Krasi), Greco has gained a reputation on Newbury for delicious Greek pitas, plates, and salads, assembled to your liking with options including pork, chicken, or lamb gyro, meat-free proteins like halloumi or squash fritter, and sides including zucchini chips, lemon pilaf, and Greek slaw. If you need a sweet treat to top off your lunch, order the loukoumades (Greek style doughnuts)." - Anna Darrow

"Greco, a fast-casual Greek restaurant, has opened a new location in Boston's Financial District. Known for its gyros and loukoumades, the venue also offers Greek salads, soups, coffee, and imported retail items from Greece. The new location is open for lunch and dinner Monday through Saturday, with plans to expand to Sundays." - Rachel Leah Blumenthal

"Back Bay’s popular fast-casual Greek restaurant Greco (225 Newbury St.) announced plans late last year for an expansion to the Pier 4 office building in Boston’s Seaport District. While that’s still in the works, the restaurant announced another planned expansion this week: 1 Milk St. in Boston’s Downtown Crossing at a development called One Milk Street. Greco’s original location debuted in early 2017; the Pier 4 location is expected to join it next month, with the Milk Street location following in fall 2019. The growing restaurant group serves a counter-service menu of Greek staples such as gyros and pitas, not to mention loukoumades and a variety of non-alcoholic drinks, including foamy Greek iced coffee (frappes). The Seaport District location is aiming to serve wine and Greek beers, too." - Terrence Doyle

Google
This was a pleasant find. I was looking for something healthy and yummy. This was a great choice. I highly recommend coming here. Great fresh Greek food, clean, wonderful staff, healthy quick options! Overall, my new favorite Greek place to eat. Manny was so awesome! The Greek salad was perfect for a hot summer day. I added chicken to mine and I don’t tend to like chicken, but this was so good! My friend and I really enjoyed the food and service. Two thumbs up!! 👍 👍

Google
Honest, delicious food. We had the rice plate with pork, the chicken and pork skewers, zucchini chips and the mini donuts with honey. Everything was wonderful.

Stephen McD

Google
Had the lamb chop plate... perfectly seasoned and cooked, paired well with the tzatziki and roasted egg plant sauces, you'll enjoy nice evening snack for two, took a bite b4 taking the Pic 😋, plenty of other plates under $20

Google
My friend and I had some great gyros here. Gyros are customisable. I had the pea protein which was a very nice vegan option. Staff were friendly and chatty and to our surprise threw in some dessert for free. We highly recommend this place. Plus, the restaurant is on the site of the birthplace of Benjamin Franklin - so a cool historic touch too.

Google
This is my first time ever reviewing a chain restaurant, but I felt compelled after Greco has consistently outperformed expectations for fast casual Greek. Lord knows there's a zillion Greek lunch spots in downtown, but at Greco, the menu is constantly changing, the presentation of the meals is way more beautiful than it needs to be, and the service (especially takeaway) is on point. Food is fresh, and interesting, with new combinations than you'd normally find at a Greek place (eg brussel sprouts). Get the fried zucchini chips!

Magdalena Andromak

Google
My goodness was this place a decision well-made! The staff were so friendly and the food was amazing. Zucchini chips to die for!

Google
We got this through Door Dash at a nearby hotel. It was delicious!!!!! Just what we needed. Fresh and hearty. Veggie packed. Delicious meats. Incredible dips!! Incredible!! Would wholeheartedly recommend. In fact, may order them again during our stay! Thanks so much!

Google
I had a lamb wrap that the pulled lamb perfectly cooked. The complete wrap looked interesting to me that they put French fried top on the lamb. It looked heavy but it actually wasn’t. I enjoyed it very bite. Ambience is great but the store is small so it might get crowded fast. I would come back again.

Nancy V.

Yelp
Excellent "fast" Greek food. I had chicken wrap & the husband had chicken souvlaki. It was just like the food on the Greek islands. The 2 employees were super polite & efficient. The price was reasonable. Highly recommend if you like Greek food.

Srinithi R.

Yelp
This place is great for a quick bite. I got the lamb plate and the Greek baby donuts. The mini donuts are filled with oreo, hazelnut praline and powdered sugar. There's seating but it's minimal. But they do have a large table that many people can sit at. The service was very fast and friendly.

Olivia M.

Yelp
I just ordered Greco for lunch- the zucchini fritters were clearly in oil that was way too hot, they are completely raw batter on the inside, and there was a hair in my bowl!

Alex M.

Yelp
I was please surprised with my Greco experience! This Mediterranean fast casual restaurant was very tasty and fresh. The workers were also friendly and were explaining to the previous customer before all of their options in detail which was made me excited for my food. I got the chicken plate with spicy feta and rice and a side of zucchini chips both which I would recommend. Portions were also very generous which does make the price point a little more reasonable. If in the seaport area, I'd recommend giving this place a try for a Mediterranean lunch!

Joy G.

Yelp
Solid lunch spot with plenty of options, all relatively healthy. I work close by and needed a hearty lunch in a pinch, so checked out Greco - ordered the Delphine salad bowl with chicken and eggplant sauce. It was a good sized portion that kept me full without feeling bloated but wow, talk about inflation. A salad + drink was about $18. Not to bemoan days that have long passed but I remember being able to get something similar for under $10. The chicken and sauce were on the salty side, I was chugging water after. Inside was clean with plenty of seating. The food here won't blow your socks off in terms of the best Greek/Mediterranean but it was tasty and fresh for when you're not in the mood for Shake Shack next door.

Stuart B.

Yelp
Fantastic Greek food. Had the lamb pita. Lots of seating. Fast and friendly service.

Savannah H.

Yelp
First time at Greco bc I was craving halloumi! Got the halloumi plate with rice and the spicy feta instead of parsley for the sauce. Ordering the guy was so friendly and nice and the rice was cooked fresh! Only took a little wait I was happy to do. They have my fav sparkling water MastiH2O. The plates food serving is huge. I'm definitely stuffed and glad I've never stopped in before when I was just peck ish. It's very good, personally too salty for me to the point that salt is the only seasoning I taste when I see others!? But still good. Not gross salty. And maybe it's a me thing. The halloumi hit the spot. Inside is very pretty and I like their decor and little trays!

Alex G.

Yelp
This food is gross and NOT REAL GREEK. I kept giving it multiple chances and trying different kinds of gyros but it was all bad as hell. And the spinach pie was dry and so salty it was inedible. The frappe was not cold at all... And they charge for extra sauce. Won't ever go back to a Greco again.

Remi W.

Yelp
This place is a good staple but not outstanding or memorable. The fries are tasty. The chicken plate is fine as well. It's a good serving portion of food. The bougatsa was a little disappointing. If you go here, you won't be disappointed. Personally, with so many things in the area I would be more likely to try somewhere else next time.

Bethany S.

Yelp
WOW! That's how I'd describe the food, ambiance, and service at Greco. The gentleman who helped us was so kind and helpful. The kebabs, salad, halloumi, tzatziki sauce, and donuts were all amazing. I'm definitely have to go here again before I leave town!

Tricia W.

Yelp
when working in the city there are a plethora of easy convenient options for lunch that can be overwhelming. I forgot to pack lunch today so needed something fast, easy, and delicious to carry me thru the rest of my day. I did a bit of yelp searching and found high praises for Greco. It was an easy walk from the office and was not packed as some places I passed. I worried that at noon time in the city without a big line I might end up being disappointed. I was not. I opted to order the standard lamb gyro. They have many other options from salads to plates etc, but I thought if they can get the lamb right then I will come back to try other options. The was a huge gyro with plenty of meat. The tzatziki was divine, smooth, rich, creamy. the lamb was succulent and to my happy surprise cooked beautifully and even the crispier bits were good! I know some greeks put fries in the gyros, but I had yet to have one with them included. It was nice. they were super well seasoned, but I dunno, not really needed? I would have maybe liked a bit more red onion, they were sparse, and the tomato was sliced, not diced so kinda not fun to get a huge slice in a bite. I almost got some of the greek donuts or later, but gosh I am glad I didn't because I am so full. Well priced for the city, well decorated, and very clean. As you can see, yes I recommend it! I could write more but will leave you with this now.

Medgy R.

Yelp
Ordered the chicken Pita ($12.31), it was delicious and full of flavor. Made this order through their app, the service was fast and inside if this restaurant was very clean. 10/10 highly recommend

Shaun L.

Yelp
I really like to eat plates because I like the mix of rice, a side, and the main course. I regretted it after I had a bite of my wife's gyro. Next time just get the gyro! I also got the lamb, which was a little too gamey for me (I like lamb) and wifey got the pork which was delicious. It's tucked away on milk street, close to washington. If you're on milk and hit shake shack, you judged missed it. I definitely recommend folks to give it a try, it was clean and had a few options. I think it's better than falafel kings pita, but I wouldn't say it is as good as Zo's but it's not very far off.

Anju P.

Yelp
We were in Boston and were looking for a quick place to grab lunch and we decided to try Greco at Milk St because of the good reviews. There are a few tables to sit down, and as it was not peak busy time of the day, we decided to dine in there. We got our food ready promptly. There are good options for vegetarians and vegans, more importantly the gyros I tried are super flavor that I really miss their food. My family likes the meat options here. The place is super clean. Overall I highly recommend the place.

Perla R.

Yelp
the food was amazing and the price was reasonable. definitely recommend it a good bang for your buck! Very nice experience and amazing staff!

Julia L.

Yelp
Loved my experience at GRECO. It was a seemless experience from ordering to getting my food. I got a Pita that was delicious. The place was very clean and modern. Favorite new lunch spot and good value for your money.

Frank B.

Yelp
The food was acceptable, but nothing remarkable. The lamb pita was moderately spiced and the meat was a bit tough. Chicken skewers were also less spiced than I expect of quality Greek food. The spanakopita(feta and spinach roll) was terrible because they used a pie crust as the wrap instead of phyllo dough. The environment is very industrial and moderately clean. With so many Greek restaurants in Boston, this is currently on the bottom of my list.

Kim Nhat H.

Yelp
I loved the food! I had the pea protein meatball plate and it was delicious! My meal felt very filling and definitely worth the price. My companion had the Loukaniko platter and he thought it was good, although there was only one slice of meat and he felt it was a not enough. The location is very nice and the store itself is very cute :)

Carol B.

Yelp
So clean and very friendly. My salad was delicious. I didn't realize it was a chain until I looked to give it a review. I thought it was a family establishment. I would go out of my way for this place again..

Andrew J.

Yelp
Helpful tip: the portions are perfect! Review: like others say this place is a must if you like Mediterranean food. Not only does the food make me happy but the staff was great too! They knew that my meal would take 5 min to make so they offered to hold my friends order until my order was closer to finishing. We were able to eat together and enjoy the fresh food! I know they're famous for their dessert donut so I will definitely have to come back and try this place again!

Anna F.

Yelp
Quite fresh. Got a salad with lamb and tzatziki. Afterwards, I saw the spinning piece of meat that it was cut from, which was cool. As I went through the line I eventually saw the chicken too, which looked awesome- will have to try that next time. Seems like a very good option for work lunches. Quick, quality ingredients, elegant.

Wern O.

Yelp
TLDR: Another great spot! I've eaten a fair amount at the Greco on Newbury and this location does a great job as well. The inside is much bigger than the other Greco and has the sleek white color of fast modern restaurants. Food is great as usual. I generally go for the chicken plate with a side of zucchini chips. When I'm feeling really munchy I'll get the donuts as well which are incredibly soft and not too sweet.

Lindsay K.

Yelp
I ordered a salad with gyro meat that was really good. I have no complaints here! Great food, nice people, and clean. The zucchini chips were wow!

Josh M.

Yelp
That's some mighty fine Greek. Had pork gyro. Great pork. Really great tzatziki. And, believe it or not, the fries they put in there were really good, as well. Onions included. Flavorful, sat well, and fresh. Also had the avgolemono. Pretty good. Kind of thin with a starchy taste. I got the impression it was cornstarch thickened and didn't cook enough to gel. Still tasty but is probably better most days than what I got. My friend got the zucchini chips. Wow, those were good. Service was very personable, helpful, and even let us try the zucchini chips before buying. Great quick service. All said and done, I think I paid ~$15. We'll be back.

Alaina M.

Yelp
Greco is great for fast, yummy Greek food. I wish the tomatoes came diced or sliced, as these were hard to eat when making my own gyro with the pita, and wish the chicken was sliced not pulled when making my own bowl. These fries and the homemade honey mustard are AMAZING - would go back just for this combo. The staff was friendly and the place was really clean!!

Megan W.

Yelp
Pretty good for a fast food type of place. In a good location. Employees were very nice. Food was good, tastes pretty good.

Lenny C.

Yelp
Amazing food! Great service as well. The food is high quality and the menu items were all so delicious. Thank you Manny for the baklava!

Christine H.

Yelp
Spacious place with great food and service. I've always loved the Newbury street location and was glad they opened up one downtown. Their lamb gyro always hits the spot and is very filling. I also love the salads that they offer. The interior of this location is big and has plenty of seating. Will def be frequenting this place often!

Michelle L.

Yelp
Jordan was sweeping when I went in to order the chicken souvlaki plate. He was so diligent, great at multitasking and amazing with communicating with the female coworker in the back. The restaurant was as pristine as his welcoming vibes. He gives a very fair amount of french fries and even recommended a side of sauce when I shared that I love spicy dishes. I genuinely love the food, but his service outshined the kebab's quality. I'll be back, and he totally deserves a raise!

Vaishu M.

Yelp
This was my third time having Greco in 3 days... and I absolutely loved it! I had the horiatiki salad with lamb and spicy feta sauce. I'm addicted to the spicy feta sauce - it is so good! I only docked a point because serving sizes here are smaller than they are at other locations. I didn't have enough spicy feta sauce for all of my pita, and I was served a small piece of feta with my salad. Still; the food was very good, and there was seating inside. Please please PLEASE open a location in Atlanta!!

Peter Q.

Yelp
Surprisingly delicious. The Olive oil was superb! Fast and friendly service with food at a reasonable price. Really comfortable seating with pleasant music. Greek fries were excellent. Clean. I will return.

Allan S.

Yelp
Excellent alternative for a freshly prepared lunch. A lot of great options. Service quickly and accurately.

Zack M.

Yelp
I was looking for a healthy Greek meal and saw this place as highly recommended. I totally agree and this hit the spot. I got the chicken and spicy feta with the tzatziki sauce on the side with pita bread and it was amazing. Great portion and unreal flavor. I went back just recently and got a side of fries that they serve with feta on top and I think it was one of the best styles of fries I've ever had. Highly recommend if you like Greek food.

Rebecca K.

Yelp
I love Greek food! This is authentic Greek food... think wheat, olive oil, and meat, including lamb, chicken and pork gyro. Their vegetarian option (which is what I eat) is squash fritter, which is SO delicious and something I wouldn't know how to make myself. They also have a vegan option, which is something I have never heard of and didn't try but I love that they have a vegan option! It's Pea protein keftedes, and per the dictionary that's small meatballs made with herbs and onions. Sounds good to me!! I love their zucchini chips. They are a somewhat healthier version of fries because they are fried but they are light and slightly crispy, not over-battered at all. So, all in all, the menu can't be beat. It's amazing. The location itself is cute and located in downtown crossing, so very convenient for all that work in the financial district and tourists that come through downtown, just off the Freedom Trail. The place is roomy enough to have a decently sized area for small tables to sit down for lunch at. Check it out... it's delicious and service is great!

Joe G.

Yelp
Above average fast casual greek. The vegan meatballs are really good. The food is simple and the staff is really friendly!

Peter O.

Yelp
You're in a rush- you want something thats going to satisfy your taste buds and is fairly cheap for Boston prices. GRECO is a great option for that cause I feel like the portions are generous and the food is made hot and quick. I like that they opened up this location in downtown cause it definitely stands to be a possible lunchtime spot when figuring out what to eat! I like the bifteki the most and recommend that if its your first time trying this place out!

Davetta K.

Yelp
My school introduced me to them and it's been love every since. I prefer the chicken but the veggie is good too. Not a fan of the lamb. I ALWAYS get they spicy feta and the tzatziki sauce because it's AMAZING & only a buck extra. Try it out , it'll be worth it!!! It also gives minimalist vibes which I've come to love even in my own lifestyle. It's peace and the bathroom is wicked clean!

Kathy K.

Yelp
Tasty takeaway. Lamb giros with tzaziki. Fries with feta. Will definitely try for to- go again. Staff was friendly and helpful. Place was very clean.

Robert V.

Yelp
Obsessed with this place! Best gyros (I didn't take a picture) and salad I have ever had and the staff was super friendly. I also had the greek donuts and let me tell you, they don't disappoint.

Dan G.

Yelp
Chicken gyro is terrible. Kebabs are super dry. Not sure what the actual star product is here. It's good that they give you very little chicken in your gyro because it saves you from that terrible taste

73and9 7.

Yelp
Usually like this place but did delivery and super disappointed. They have an obviously stale and dried out skewer and then didn't include any utensils. Like how cheap do you have to be to not include any utensils. And no there was no option to request yes or no for utensils. Poor experience will not plan to order again, if it was good would have ordered at least once a week bc I have liked their product in the past.

Fud S.

Yelp
Got take-outs a couple of times from the Downtown Crossing location. The pork gyro/plate was good both times, but the real good stuff is the LOUKOUMADES/Greek style donuts. The Classic and Yaya's were very good.

Ellen K.

Yelp
I've been craving Greek food for the past few months & I've only heard amazing things about the Greco branches in Back Bay and Seaport so I had to give this location a go. Came on a sunny Saturday at about 1:15pm and the shop was pretty much empty save for 3 individual customers each occupying a small table and enjoying their meals. My first impression was that GreCo has a very nice ambience with its white, clean and nature-themed interior design. I would think that it's a nice location to come with a significant other or small group of friends but could become crowded for multiple large groups to occupy. There was no fuss when it came to ordering & I was in and out with my takeout order of a chicken gyro and the classic loukoumades in just 5 minutes since there was no line. The staff taking my order was friendly and efficient. I think he may have been a little too nice in stuffing my gyro though as I could barely hold it all together even with the paper wrapper. The loukoumades came in their separate takeout box while the chicken gyro came in a paper bag. THE FOOD: Perhaps my expectations were a little too high? Or maybe I should've gone for the lamb or beef gyros... Honestly, my chicken gyro was disappointing. The fries inside the gyro were seasoned very well, but obviously they lose their crispiness when mixed into the gyro. The chicken had a subtle grilled (?) or smoked flavor, which wasn't bad, but it was also not impressionable. I think the issue overall was that the chicken was dry, which I think could've been covered up if I had ordered a side of the tzatziki sauce or some other sauce to dip and eat the gyro with. Instead, I got the gyro with honey mustard because that is what the staff offered during ordering & I did not give it a second thought or ask what other options there were. My mistake. On the plus side, the food is perfectly instagrammable :) I really wanted to like GreCo but I'm meh about it. I might give it another go to their other locations if I'm in the area. In the meantime, if you're craving something sweet, try their loukoumades (fried dough) because they are sweet, sticky, fluffy heaven in every bite.

Eren Ç.

Yelp
I love Greco in newbury and seaport and I tried almost everything they sell. But today was disappointing because of the raw bifteki. The staff was very friendly though.

Tracy A.

Yelp
Great food choices and friendly staff. Favorite lunch place in DTX. Highly recommend!

Dawn A.

Yelp
This place is fabulous!! Everything about it! The lamb chop plate and zucchini chips are my favorite, but I also love the chicken gyro, I think it's the best in town, so authentic! If it's cheat day then I'm definitely having the bougatsa loukoumades (had to check the menu for the spelling lol), little donuts of heaven with delightful custard (not too sweet), phyllo and cinnamon (they should really sell that custard and grocery stores, it's sooo good!!). If you're hungry, or just want a little snack Greco is the place to check out, you won't be disappointed, I never am!

Colin W.

Yelp
Ooh a great spot for authentic Greek gyros. I got the lamb, which was a delicious treat for me.

L T.

Yelp
This place is ok. The Bifteki was cold and fries weren't crispy. But, the zucchini chips were delicious. The music at this place was so loud, it was very difficult to place an order. Not sure I'll be back when there are so many other fast food places around the area.

Matthew B.

Yelp
Food, service, and ambience all 10/10. Authentic Greek food made fresh right behind the counter. If you have never been and you're thinking about going. Go.
