Always consistent. Great for a quick lunch if you have cash or want to use the ATM. Staff are friendly and accurate when serving food. The decor is nothing fancy and hasn’t really changed in decades if I were the stop and think about it but I also don’t come here to look at the decor and take in the atmosphere. Not where I would want to go on a date but if my date wanted to grab take out and have a picnic and enjoy the OU campus and surrounding area it’s a win.

Google
As I walked in I noticed a nice aroma from the rotating roasting meat behind the order counter. I ordered the gyro plate, tea, and baklava. I was given a number and sat and waited. Looking around I could tell the inside decor was a little bit banged up and aged but clean. Order came in short time and the amount of food was huge! It came with gyro, pita bread, fries, and salad. Everything tasted wonderful especially the baklava. The portions were more than I could eat at one seating and had to take some home. This place is less than a block away from OU and is very popular with students. Great place for a quick filling meal.

Google
Best experience everytime. Best tasting food. Great customer service. Wish it was closer so I can go more often.

Church Of Karst

Google
Food is great I really like this place. My only complaint is that they only do cash. They have an ATM but it has a $3 service charge. So whatever your order expense, add $3. Like seriously, it’s 2025, running a credit card is super easy. The kids that run the lemonade stand in my neighborhood even accept card payments.

Google
I wanted to say thank you to this amazing business. I had a horribly rough day yesterday and the man working took care of me and made my day! And to top it off, the food was DELICIOUS and the portions were HUGE. The price was even better. I have never had a better gyro in my life. These are the types of businesses that people should support! They make great food and they genuinely care about their customers.

Google
I ordered to go for the first time. I’d never eaten here before. The gyro sandwich with tzatziki sauce is amazing! It has a lot of meat in the sandwich and would be enough for 2 people to split. The service was also quick, the building was clean and the price is great. The only downside is they don’t take debit/credit card.

Linda McCarty

Google
I would give a -10 for service if I could. The person working the counter (assuming he’s the new owner) literally yelled at me the whole time I was there to pick up our order. He yelled at me for taking more than 10 min to get there; he yelled at me when I opened my wallet to pay because he thought I was getting out a card and then he yelled because we ordered extra sauce. I can’t stress how terrible the service and his attitude as. I was surprised there were only a couple people dining during the lunch hour, but now I understand.

Google
The Greek House is a no frills Greek Restaurant. The shaved Gyro meat is the best I’ve ever had. This restaurant is cash only, they do not take credit or debit cards; the menu is very affordable. Be advised if you order a salad the lettuce is iceberg lettuce. I also ordered falafel and baklava which were very good, if you like Gyros or Gyro meat this is the place to visit. I highly recommend the Greek house.

Yelp
Five stars, no question. They absolutely loaded this gyro. Meat was hot, flavorful, and stacked way higher than I expected. Pita was fresh and soft--not dry, not chewy, just right. I got the sandwich, a drink, and extra tzatziki and still walked out for under $15. That's basically a miracle in 2025. Staff was cool, food came out fast, and it was all exactly what I wanted. Nothing fancy--just good food made right.

Yelp
Excellent food...large portions! Don't expect any fancy ambience, but just enjoy the authentic smells and tastes! A true value dining experience!!

Yelp
Greek House is my favorite for gyros. We always get a pound of meat & extra sauce to go so we can eat it again when we get home. The fries are usually crispy but this time was not. But the gyros still the same - tasty! The man who took my order & carved the meat was not the friendliest but the rest of the staff were nice.

Yelp
The Greek House has been a popular lunch and dinner spot since 1979! Renowned for serving delicious, authentic gyros, you are sure to leave this restaurant satisfied. Try a flavorful gyro with meat, lettuce and onions piled high on pita bread, or opt for a gyro plate FILLED with meat, Greek salad, fries and pita bread. A smaller "child's plate" option is also available. The tasty tzatziki sauce that's served on the side perfectly rounds out the Greek House dining experience.

Yelp
Recently moved to the area and needed a gyro. Did a search and Greek house was the #1. We gave it a try and it didn't disappoint. A lot of food for the price. My wife and I could have spilt a gyro. The plate seemed to be the most popular and came with a good salad. Highly recommend.

Yelp
IM BACK! I think this place hits. They give you so much meat that I always have left overs! Similar to a quick service restaurant. My only downfall is how dirty the place is... the workers would be eating, licking their fingers and then touching your food. You can clearly see since they are right in the front. I've seen the cashier handle cash then go directly touching the fries to fry them. Maybe that's why the food always hits? From the extra flavor but it's disappointing to see it.

Yelp
Always have to stop at Greek House for lunch every time I'm in Norman. The people are so friendly and you never have to wait long for your food. Prices are reasonable and the inside is always clean! The portions are huge, so I always get the child's plate and it's more than enough.

Tracy

Yelp
This is one of my local favorites. The gyro plate is so good. I love the cheese and olives and salad. It's been a long time favorite.

Yelp
First time trying the Greek house and now I understand the hype! I got the child gyro's plate and it came with the meat, friends, salad and the tzatziki! It doesn't come with the pita though. Also their prices have changed a little bit I forgot to take the photo of the menu. So this plate is around $11.49, but the portion is huge :)

Yelp
Hello, game day Boomer Sooner! This little family owned gem is a block away from the college stadium. It's a cash only restaurant and does get very busy. The food is amazing and portions are very large. Ordered a gyro only. The fries looked good but only bought a gyro. Took 1-1/2mins to get the sammich. The atmosphere was busy and a lot of people wanted Gyros haha. Thank you for the delicious food!

Yelp
I'm not sure what's going on but I got my food in like three minutes. You were usually here for 15 Good minutes waiting on your food so I'm not really sure why the service is not as well? pretty sure they double fried my french fries may be too long because they're golden, also the food doesn't smell the same. I stood at the counter 30 seconds while the man was finishing whatever he was doing on his phone, sitting before he even looked up at me to see that I wanted to order. He heard me come in because there was one man in the restaurant literally one drinking a lonely, green bottled beer. Also, why did they put a rubber band on this package like it wasn't gonna stay closed? The food does not taste the same my french fries clearly Overcooked because they were cooked more than once. The food just doesn't taste the same and nobody makes iContact I mean they didn't pass, but seriously if you're going to serve, crappy food, at least be polite! Now I know why it was empty. don't continue to sell things because you know they're iconic. If you're not gonna serve the best product available I mean literally people work hard for their money and you're just crapping all over it by not providing good service or good food and don't ask me if I need a fork, give it to me, you know I do and napkins and ketchup..

Yelp
First thing. CASH ONLY! There is an ATM inside but just make sure you are prepared. The gentleman who I am guessing is the only isn't rude but he is straight to the point and doesn't present himself in the best of light. The lady who was serving people their food was very nice and sweet. Two thumbs up for her and her service. The restaurant is very tiny and parking can be a bit of an issue at times I would say. The food is delicious. The gyro meat is cooked nicely and not over cooked. Very flavorful. The salad is super simple and I would like to see something more done with it. It's iceberg lettuce, two slices of tomato, a cube of feta, white onions and oil and vinegar. Oh and I almost forgot 1 olive. I don't think you need More Ingredients just more Of them so each bite has a more uniform flavor. Portions are large and you will get your moneys worth for sure.

Yelp
Ohhh myyyy goooooodnessss this place is sooooo perfect! When you think of this place after eating here, it'll make you droooool. The service is efficient and fast!! The smells, the close contact, the small tables, all of it makes you think of this place often. Never forget the sauce!!

Yelp
This place has always been so delicious, I've been coming here since I was a kid with my grandmother and it still never disappoints!! Remember to bring cash folks!!

Scarlet S.

Yelp
Best restaurant in Norman absolutely hands down no cap frfr Been coming here a long time everyone all the boys love it too
google avatar

Hannah S.

Yelp
I always get their gyros plate. My family as a kid always would get a few for dinner and split them. I remember eating on the meat for days. Now as a senior at OU, I've never stopped going and will continue the tradition with my future family. Love this place. Very simple interior, take it to-go. You won't be disappointed! Order extra pita
google avatar

Yelp
Great hole-in-the-wall place to get some delicious gyros. I got the full gyros plate, and it came with a mountain of meat. I took what I could t eat home to eat for lunch the next day. The meat was flavorful and went well with the pita and tzatziki sauce. I am used to a thinner sauce than what they have. It was still good, but I do prefer a thinner sauce. The plate comes with fries and a salad with some pita bread. The pita bread was nice and chewy how I like it and I enjoyed the fried as well. Of course I would like my fries a little more crisp, but tasty nonetheless. Hey portion for the price, next time I'll get the child plate though.

Jennifer P.

Yelp
Fantastic! Omg! Literally still eating and couldn't wait to write a review. My husband grabbed us two gyros each because we usually have to order two at other places haha! But man we over ordered because the meat portion was huge!! Which is such a good thing! I am halfway through one sandwich, and this half still has more meat than any gyro I've had. We just moved here not too long ago and I finally have my favorite food driving distance! You won't regret going here. Thanks so much!

Yelp
Best Gyro on the planet! This place is super authentic. Although the original owners aren't there anymore, I don't taste a difference in quality. I no longer live in Norman, but I ate here last week for old times sake. I used to come here all the time when I was in High School. Every bite brought back great memories and nostalgia. I savored each and every fork full. This place is still in my top 5 favorite restaurants in Norman. The Gyro Plate is enough food for 2 people. I normally get the Child's Plate. It's still a lot for 1 person to eat all at once. Great portion sizes! For the first time ever, I ordered their baklava. It was everything I had hoped it would be and the best baklava I've ever had. Despite my glowing review, I think it's absolutely RIDICULOUS that in 2021 this place still doesnt accept credit cards. No one wants to use your ATM machine in the back. Also, this Hole-In-The-Wall restaurant has been in desperate need of a remodel since the first time I came almost 20 years ago. This place always has a constant flow of customers and you will easily spend $10 plus a person. You can't possibly tell me the owners can't afford to remodel or purchase a credit card machine for their register. For these reasons, I gave them 4 stars instead of 5.

Yelp
Great gyros came from houston hoping to find a good gyro spot did not disappoint will definitely be going again!!!!

Yelp
My spouse and others recommended. The food was prepared and brought out to us quickly. Delicious.

Yelp
I've always heard great things about Greek House and finally had a chance to visit. Oh wow! I can't believe I've lived this whole time and not eat here. I'm glad I came and I really enjoyed the food! I got the gyro plate. The lamb is perfect and just amazing. It was so tender and very flavorful. The pita bread was warm, and just delightful! Fries and salad were as fresh as can be. In addition, I also ordered the spicy feta dip with pita chips. So delicious!!!! I would highly recommend getting this appetizer with your meal. Make sure you have CASH handy. Your gyro plate is huge and will come with lots of food. You could opt for the kiddie gyro plate or share the regular gyro plate with someone. It's definitely worth the drive and worth every penny. Go try them!

Yelp
Slow service. Not too friendly. Food was marginal. Tabouli was almost all parsley & I love tabouli but I couldn't eat this.

Yelp
Best Greek food!! Great service!! Friendly staff!! Highly recommended!! Nice location

Yelp
Always delicious. Service great. Best gyros anywhere! French fries great too. Love the tzatziki sauce, too!

Yelp
I've enjoyed this sorta clean, hard to find a place to park at & find a place to sit at -dive for decades. Very consistent good food with enormous servings. Only takes cash (hmmmmmm) but I don't care. I always get the gyros plate and never am disappointed. I can still remember parking several of my race cars out front - decades ago. Wish I still had them :). but hey- good nostalgia and good food still ROCKS. I definitely don't drive 55 and don't care if the Greek House only takes cash. They get the only pass. Virtually any other restaurant that only took cash would be fired and never see ten cents from my very fat wallet.

Yelp
Updating previous reviews. 10/15/2022 Ate there today. Service was even worse. Nobody acted like they even cared about anything. I told them there was no ice and they didn't do anything for over half an hour. People were getting it out of the ice machine on their own and they were not being sanitary if ya get my drift. Food has fallen even more and was some how even worse today. The feta cheese was hard as a rock and looked and tasted old. And the dead mouse that was left in the trap in the bathroom has sealed it. After 31 years I'm not eating there any more. This was my game day tradition and a place I would go to several times through the year even when it wasn't football season. No more though.

Debbie T.

Yelp
Just remember it's a cash only restaurant. Great food. Love it.Gyro Sandwich I recommended this place lots of seating Not much parking

Yelp
Want a gyro in Norman? This is your place... so good. This place is a dive - probably hasn't changed much since the early 90s. Maybe earlier. And why should it - small and situated across from the University, just east of Campus Corner, its a staple that's been there for decades. When sold, the owners and staff stuck around for a full year to train/make sure it would be done just the same as it always had been. This place feels more like it is a family than a business. Love.
google avatar

Nathan L.

Yelp
This is the best place to get some righteous Greek comfort food! I would definitely recommend the gyro dinner and the baklava with it's flaky, gooey, sugary goodness! It's cash only, but there is an ATM on-site. This place is legendary!

Lee H.

Yelp
The rating is mostly due to service. I do not believe the food manages to make up for that. Sadly this place has steadily gone downhill during and since the pandemic. The original and longtime owners left, hopefully into a pleasant retirement and then one or more different groups took over during the pandemic and (I assume) went out of business. Whoever the current owner is, the entire crew is different and the person running the place doesn't seem to understand customer service... or cash registers. She was certain a customer had NOT paid for an order (they had, we saw) and loudly tried to get them to pay again in a rather bullying fashion. Another customer politely stepped in to help and pointed out on the cash register's hardcopy where the person had paid. She then got mad at that person as well. The food is okay... it is hard to mess up Kronos supplied meat heated on an "autodoner." If you get a "plate" the fries are plentiful and similar, though not as tasty as McDonalds. The salad that comes along with the plate is small, but does have an olive and a tiny piece of feta. For those that get the sandwich, it is fine. The tzatziki sauce is good, but not quite as flavorful as "Ole Towne Gyros" on Porter. For dessert they have the obligatory baklava. The bottom line: You get your standard, good gyros plate or sandwich with the usual good-sized portions that most gyros places tend to have. But there is absolutely nothing to set this place apart from any other gyros place... except poor service. Which is why we left the line last time and went to one of the other gyros places in town.

Yelp
Delicious. A Norman staple. Seems a bit different since original owners left, but still good

Janie L.

Yelp
Never used to like this style of food as a young person. But my friends and partners would always eat here. I guess over the years the smells finally got to me and now I'm a convert. I love the silly price updates on the stickers and the fact they only take cash. Same place it's always been, delicious. Gyro Plate + side salad + extra pita. I can eat on it for days. The prices have gone up recently but that's pretty much everywhere now, so no complaints, still amazing value for what you get. ~$21 gets me a gyro plate, small salad, and extra pita. Enough for 3 meals easily. So about $7 a meal for fresh high quality ingredients. I'm only sad it took me a few decades to learn to love this place!
google avatar

Beth M.

Yelp
If you're looking for the best ma and pop Greek food in Norman, look no further! This no-frills spot right by Campus is our go-to for great gyros and huge portions (two kids plates is more than enough for our family of four) and is worth the extra effort of this cash-only gem. With only a few tables in this tiny place, there's no room for social distancing, so we get it to go. Be sure to request extra tzatziki sauce and extra pita!
google avatar

Bobby A.

Yelp
Who would not recommend this place?!?!?! The best greek food in Norman/Oklahoma City. We always get the "child's plate" and extra meat.
google avatar

Beverly G.

Yelp
Best gyros in town! A child's plate is plenty of food for me. Besides the gyro meat and pita bread, it comes with a salad and French fries. So delicious!

Rob B.

Yelp
I have gone to this restaurant since my senior year at OU in 1980. The original owners were from Greece and the food and service was outstanding- my in-laws, wife, two sons, my daughter in law and grandchildren have all eaten there- it was a pilgrimage for us. But not anymore. The current owners changed the meat and have gotten chinzey on the salads. I don't care about the price and that's it is a cash only spot - the food just isn't as good as it was 8 years ago. Sad- it was my favorite restaurant of all time but it isn't even close now.
google avatar

Ashley J.

Yelp
***Cash Only*** they do have an ATM onsite but obviously charges a fee. Great indoor seating options. Limited menu - was a tad confusing menus were not the same or updated at the counter so I ordered a "Supreme Gyro" as stated and there was some confusion as to what that was or what came on it per their menu. The falafel with hummus was pretty good. The hummus was probably my favorite. The half order of fries was essentially a large order - they were pretty good as well. Now let's talk about this Supreme Gyro - it was one of the top gyros I've ever had. The meat was thick, juicy, flavorful, all around perfect. The pita was melt in your mouth and flavored perfect on its own or combined with the tzatziki sauce or the hummus :) the olives were so yummy. The feta cheese was interesting - it was rather large chunks of cheese vs crumbles of feta. Onions & tomatoes were super fresh! I'd recommend an extra tzatziki sauce if you like it more on the drenched side and enough for top to bottom. If I remember correctly from the sign Gyros are 10oz of meat. Huge! We had 3-4 people in front of us and only waited about 10min for our meal. For only having 3 staff on board and a small area they moved pretty quickly! Staff was friendly. Restroom, ATM, lots of sitting choices. Will be back for sure. :)

Yelp
The internet told me that the Greek House sanitized after every customer and all of the employees wore a mask. When we arrived the man behind the counter was the only employee and he was not wearing a mask. I tried to very nicely say that I was disappointed because he was not wearing a mask since the internet told me that the employees would be wearing one. He told me in a very loud angry voice at least five times that if I didn't like it I could leave. I left.
google avatar

Yelp
We enjoy the Greek House where you'll experience simple, Greek euros, salad and fries every time. The family owned and run business offers friendly and quick service. Don't go for the ambiance ~ simply focus on the food.

Yelp
Fantastic. Small hole in the wall, vibe but very clean, family atmosphere. Cash prefered
google avatar

Desirae N.

Yelp
I would have liked to eat here and tried to but when I got here they told me cash only despite yelp saying they take all forms of payment and I'm not about to pay $2.25 ATM fee. It's 2022, take card.
google avatar

Faye L.

Yelp
Ok, first off, I'd like to say it's not my fault for taking so long to review the greek house. Unfortunately anytime we drove by it, it was packed with a line out the door. WE GOT LUCKY TODAY!! It's a cute little spot, parking is not perfect. But learning today they get people in and out pretty quickly for the most part. Doesn't matter if you dine in or take it to go. We didn't know they only take cash. So mistake on our part. They do have a ATM you can use so you don't have to leave. If you're in Norman, go check it out if you can. They're easily my top 3 greek restaurants in the metro. Their menu is simple and prices are right. The smell hits you as soon as you walk in. The perfect comfort food! The gyro meat isn't dry or tough. The vegetables are fresh and not soggy. And the naan bread isn't burnt! It's fluffy and so tasty! And always, the falafels are soooo goood!!!

Mary J.

Yelp
Worst part is comparing it to what it was like when the old Greek owners had it . Prices have almost doubled, quantity has gone down and amount they give you has declined. I got one piece of feta cheese with my salad, lettuce isn't as fresh, sauce is thinner and used to taste better. We still go occasionally but always sad when we think about what it used to be like.
google avatar

Alex G.

Yelp
I've been visiting this establishment since the 90's. Despite the original owners departing, the Greek House has remained near its exceptional quality. The food is some of the best around. Definitely superb comfort food! My only suggestion is that the allow for more payment options other than cash.
google avatar

Rita E.

Yelp
This place has the best & biggest gyro I've ever had. Their fries are amazing. Fried in the grease from gyro meat. It's worth a drive from Edmond to Norman for sure!
google avatar

Judy N.

Yelp
Our go to place!! Friendly, down home kinda place with superior gyros. We watch calories and it's easy to do there.

Yelp
Food was good but the restaurant had a lot of gnats flying around which was gross when you're trying to eat.
