"La Mela Verde, a nondescript artisanal shop, sits right on the Rio di San Provolo canal. Inside, the Granny Smith–green space is standing room-only, with a case of around a dozen daily flavors. La Mela Verde makes its gelato, some of the creamiest in Venice, using whole Italian milk. Flavors include ricotta with Sicilian pistachio and seasonal sorbets like candonga strawberries in spring or saturn white peaches in summer. Probably the best tangerine and grapefruit sorbet ever eaten! Used real fruits and tasted like the actual fruit itself with pulps in it! Definitely worth a visit in Venice!

We got the pistachio gelato here. It was creamy and had a good pistachio flavour but it wasn't anything mindblowing that I would go back for.

We tried a few different kinds of gelato at La Mela Verde while in Venice. They were all very tasty, were loaded with natural flavor, and had great texture. We especially liked the pistachio! We also lucked out and got to try the vegan banana cream one evening. Wow! It was loaded with real banana flavor. Plus, you'd never know it was vegan if not for the sign. The service we received was friendly and the prices were reasonable. I definitely recommend giving this place a try!

While their gelato certainly is good, i really don't see why this is often mentioned as (one of) the best gelateria in Venice. Sampled 6 flavours among the 4 of us, and neither was outstanding in any way. I recommend Gelateria Gallonetto (not far off) instead. Had expected more from all the accolades in the international press, Tripadvisor etc (see photo)

Best gelato in Venice ! Stopped by for a few scoops and was super impressed. They have the Italian classic flavors, and then some really interesting and unique ones too. So creamy and so delicious. I’ve eaten a lot of icecream, and this is the best. It’s also in a really cute area, not so crowded or touristy. Will be going back for more.

Definetely reccomend coming here for Gelato when in Venice. I tried the Nocciola and it was absolutley delicious. Also loved the dakr chocolate and salted caramel. In Italy there are a lot of bad gelato places but this place was authentic and delicious!
