How I heard of this place: When Green Bean closed, the entire neighborhood was curious to see what would open in it's place. We needed the local coffee shop with good seating (a space for kids at Green Bean was a huge bonus), but weren't sure anything could survive through covid-19. Then there was Coffeeholic!
Type of cuisine: Vietnamese coffee with so many novel and beautiful flavors, as well as an assortment of sweet and savory pastries.
Ambiance: An amazingly beautiful setting full of luscious greens and stark white backdrops. It's warm, cozy and comfortable; an inviting space where friends can meet, families can share a treat and individuals can savor the moment with their beverage and/or pastry of choice.
What I ordered: My first visit included the most popular item - Coffeeholic Dream. An exquisite combination of ube sweetness in a robust coffee, topped with a slightly salty cheese foam. Not only did it look picture-worthy, it tasted like...a dream. On subsequent visits - there have now been countless - I have tried most of the pastries, the Ube Latte, Purple Haze, Strawberry Milk, Bac Siu, and seasonal specialties like the Ube Monster and iced Mango Green Tea.
What I loved: The garlicky grilled cheese sandwich they had early on was truly the pastry case favorite, but it seems to have been discontinued. Savory buns (pork & green onion) are also high on the list. Of the beverages, I've recently taken a strong preference for the richness of the bac siu, but the Dream always haunts me, pressing me to return for a daily dose.
Why I loved it: The space is warm and inviting, like a vibrant and bright jungle. The beverages truly are crave-worthy and the staff friendly.
