Nestled in an airy space with ample sunlight and a cozy kids' nook, this nonprofit coffee shop serves up excellent brews and pastries, making it a local favorite for work and play.
"Green Bean Coffeehouse, Phinney Ridge Greenwood by Modern Species. The Green Bean is a non-profit coffee shop with a community soul – partnering with a another non-profit each month to raise awareness, and then donating 5% of that month's profits to that cause. Since 2005 they have donated over $60,000 to organizations like World Relief Seattle, Fare Start, and Sustainable Seattle. So drop by for a great cup of coffee or house-made pastry, learn about a cause, and feel good about the fact that each delicious sip or bite is helping people in need."
"If you need a spot that feels like a mountainside small-town book nook, Green Bean is your place. There’s an assortment of armchairs as well as personal and communal tables (vulture-stalk to get one by a window). The coffee here is served in mugs that you’d mistake for ones from your own home, and everyone tends to be really warm and friendly in here. photo credit: Erin Lodi" - Aimee Rizzo
