Google
I love it here! Super helpful staff and friendly patrons. Was initially my back up comics store, but the willingness to help, friendly disposition of the staff, and great stock have won me over, and now I call here first. Go check them out!

Me and my girlfriend just started going here a few months ago, it’s a great comic shop with a lot of titles, the owner is very nice too!

Google
truly a staple of Michigan comic shops, & one of my favorites. Everybody working here really knows their stuff & the sheer multitudes of media cater to every type of comic book reader imaginable. Such a fun & funky space, I love losing track of time flipping through their wares. I will continuously go out of my way to visit this store, gives me the same nostalgic feeling of being a kid in a comic book store for the first time, every time.

Google
Cool place, I've been reading comics for 35+ years and have always wanted to check this place out, finally got a chance while working nearby and I was thoroughly impressed with the selection they have here, i'll definitely be back.

Google
This is my favorite comic book store. I go there both to get my weekly Spider-Man fix but also to discover new things. (For example, until I walked in, I never knew that there was a James Bond comic book series.) Green Brain has TONS of comics, collectibles, and graphic novels in stock at reasonable prices. More importantly, the staff all seem to be comic book nerds themselves. They're very knowledgeable and eager to help.

Google
Awsome place. great owners. Never dissatisfied. Love to call this place my comic shop.

Google
What a great place, tucked between some nice restaurants in the heart of the district, Green Brain is your one stop comic shop. You WILL find something interesting to read here, there's a little something for everyone.

Google
Always Friendly and Helpful. They have a Great Rewards Program for Discounts and Awesome Events every month. You won't Find another Comic Shop with Staff as Warm and Welcoming then you do at Green brain Comics or anywhere else for that matter. At one of their events I even had a painting of me given for Free which was Unexpected and Much Appreciated, it blew me away! They also have Very Cool Accessories for storing your comics!

Yelp
Fantastic place! Great selection of comics and graphic novels, great staff and great customer service - this store is a true gem of the metro Detroit area!

Yelp
Pretty nice and quiet comic book store. Lots of graphic novels and past issues too! Right off Michigan avenue.

Yelp
I've only been here once, and that's when I was shopping for a gift for someone. I don't read comic books nor did I grow up reading them so I definitely appreciated the helpful sales associates. I was able to choose a couple of perfect comics for the birthday gift.

Yelp
Aah, the simple pleasures! What a treat to peruse shelves and shelves of comics in June 2020 even if myself and the proprietar, the only ones in the store, had to wear masks for pandemic protection. Green Brain has adequate selection of Marvel (huzzah!) and DC (meh! I might mess with some Batman though). They've got floor space dedicated to kids - no comments from the peanut gallery about all comics being for kids please. Exhibit A backing up my previous statement is their selection of graphic novels. There's a smattering of indie comics and a stray zine or two as well. The discount racks are pretty dismal. Yeah, I know they're discounted for a reason, but I've had some success at other shops unearthing diamonds in the rough that I haven't here. Too much wannabe Marvel / DC pollute the stacks here. Not smart stuff like Image but real dumb ass stereotypical genre dreck. It's easy to avoid that part of the store, to be fair there's enough elsewhere but I can never seem to poke my head through there just long enough to be disgusted, especially when "Big Gretch" had comics shops shuttered for months. Green Brain used to occasionally have artists come in for signings. I got a little signed sketch of Jared from Superjail! executed by one of the show's animators to prove it. (Yeah, I'm a jerk; I forget the guy's name.) I'm not sure if they still do stuff like this. My travels don't often take me to Dearborn, but my sister lives over there so GB is a fun place to pop into if I go over there. My last visit I scored an X-Men collection from the early 70s featuring X-Men appearing in other Marvel comics as their title was cancelled for awhile due to low sales, only available as reprints. It's got a number of Hank McCoy escapades and most notably Wolverine's very first appearance when he squared up as an adversary for the Incredible Hulk. I also scored a collection of comics about the Rolling Stones, a Hawkeye compilation and a couple of solo Wolverine comics. Not to brag, but the masked man behind the counter said I made good selections. And you know how fussy those guys can be! Like even more opinionated than Yelp reviewers sometimes...

Yelp
This shop is kinda far from me but I've been visiting this place and previous locations for about 15 years. At first I was attracted to this place because of the wide variety of indie and local books and they also had great signings. I now stop by every few years and when I stop by I remember why it takes a few years to come back. Long story short, the owner Dan is either not a people person or I just happen to catch him on his bad days. While talking to him he either ignores you or he's dismissive of what you're saying. I live pretty far from this place and if I come here I'm looking for certain things. Shops around me don't carry a lot of indie. I went in looking for a book for me and a friend. I found it so I grabbed both covers for me and 1 copy for a friend who knew I was coming here. When I went to pay for my books, he was ringing me up, I tried to complement his store by saying, none of the stores by me carry these books...and he cut me off by saying "yes I still have these books in stock because I have a 2 book limit for my customers". I said okay, no problem. My cousin bought a book and I actually convinced him to buy another book (that I actually could have gotten for him at 25% off from my local comic shop) and he ended up grabbing the book for me (my friend). Is it good business to deny a customer to buy a book when that book is going for under cover on eBay or at cover at the website of the publisher? I like supporting comic shops. I'm not a reseller. This wasn't a rare exclusive I was trying to horde. I say skip this shop there are plenty of other good comic shops on the metro Detroit area that have better customer service. I'm nostalgic for the good times I had here and Kate, the co-owner is pretty nice...actually now that I think about it, I bought 2 books from a creator there during a signing and he was totally okay with it and she jumped in and made a scene "only 1 book.." until the creator said he asked first I said it was okay.. and then Kate tried to say something about reselling the book and the creator signed them and handed them to me anyways. That book went to someone who couldn't make the signing. Hmm..why do I keep coming back? Probably won't. Great selection and store set up, bad rating for the customer service.

Yelp
I used to be way into comics and spent much of my cash earned as a kid on them and most of it was at this store which used to be called Comics Plus which was located a few doors down. It has since had new ownership and a name Change to Green Brain Comics. With the change in ownership and store front came a change in style. No longer is it a cookie cutter comic stop carrying a majority of titles that are from DC and Marvel, it has become a shop that has comic titles from lesser known companies and store with personality. Green Brain carries some collectibles, graphic novels, and as I mentioned before many different titles from many different companies. The store itself has a cool look to it with a unique accent wall that features a Green Brain. As for the staff, they have always been very kind, helpful and friendly. I no longer frequent comic book stores like I used to but do take my kids every so often and I must say that this one does stand out from the others. I would suggest going here to anyone looking to pick up a comic or take their kids to a cool comic store!

Yelp
Lovely place. Lots of grafik novels and comics and games. Young staff was very friendly and helpful but the older guy, maybe owner?, was like a mean hawk watching over his nest. Ick. Anyway I will still shop there

Yelp
Very nice place with a friendly staff. They have a very large collection of new comics, graphic novels, manga, etc. It is well worth a visit if you are in the area. If I lived near it, I would make it my go-to store.

Yelp
The owners of this comic shop do more to promote independent books than anyone I have ever met. I think between them they read every single release they stock, and they have a huge stock. It's a pure comic book store, in the sense of they stick around solely off selling books, not by selling out and stocking a ton of tons and other pop culture items. I mean don't get me wrong, I love pop culture, but that this remains a purely comic book store, adds to the charm. Since moving to this location the store is better than ever, and I love that is literally shares the inside space with Stormy records. Two completely different store, yet sharing space in a very unique way. I love it. There are few indie books they don't stock, and those can be obtained on order here. When not running the store specifically the owners put on tons of shows and events, both in the store and in other locations. This store is celebrating 30 years in business this year, but they remain relevant and on the cutting edge of the industry. If they keep this up there is no reason to believe they won't make it another 30 years. Do yourself a favor and check out the shop, even if you don't frequently read comics. They will find something that definitely suits your interests.

Yelp
Not my home shop(Big Ben's Comix Oasis) but great shop to visit. Great place to pick up your new books. Knowledgeable staff, that treats everyone with respect. Weather you looking for your first book or you 1,000,000 book this is a good place for that. Friendly staff will help you find what you are looking for and will try to get it if they do not carry it. Not a huge back issue selection. FYI

Yelp
I don't read comics but I know the owners of this fine establishment & according to the people who shop there & my friends who do read comics this place is the best...not only for their vast selection of comics but also for their collectibles & now they have an art gallery as well. I know that the owners are major comic lovers & always have been so they know their stuff. If you are looking for a great comic shop then Green Brain is the place to be!! I was just in the new shop over the weekend & it's great...the staff, the selection, the location...I definitely suggest popping in & getting lost in all of the fun.

Yelp
The best place to go for comics, games and various nerdly ephemora! The place is always clean, the staff are always friendly and helpful, prices are good, events all the time. It's a mom and pop shop in every sense of the word. What's more, the owners (Dan and Katie) do everything they can to provide excellent customer service, as well as hosting a space for local artists to show off their work. Seriously, if you're looking for comics and games of all kinds for all ages, Green Brain is the spot to hit.

Yelp
I love the interior of the store. They had the best customer service in a comic store that I've encountered so far and they seem to do a great job with ordering. I love the wide variety they carried and it was incredibly clean, they definitely take pride in their appearance. Awesome place for the area!

Yelp
Wide selection of comic books and graphic novels, also great prices and weekly deals. They have 3 for a $1 and 5 for a $1 deals on back issues. No other comic book stores I've visited offer deals like these. They also have weekly blogs streamed live on Facebook. If you're into comic books and graphic novels I'd strongly recommend visiting them . Oh yeah they also have a customer rewards program and when you become a member the computer keeps track of past purchases so you don't mistakenly buy doubles .

Yelp
Great looking interior, expansive selection of comics arranged well. Staff was relatively friendly, seemed to know their stuff. Major compliments to the owner or manager, not sure which one the man was. Super friendly and eager to help pick out comics, he had a huge knowledge base and was very approachable. He cut me a huge deal on a large collection, guaranteeing my loyalty to this great comic shop.

Yelp
The store is extremely inviting and cheery, and they sponsor some great events! Katie and Dan are also super helpful- wouldn't go anywhere else to purchase my comics!

Yelp
Not only do they have a great selection of comics, but also an amazing choice of graphic novels. If you don't see what you want, the staff can look it up and order it for you. We buy our daughter's comics here and mail them to her in Indiana because they have what she enjoys. Easy to get to and parking is fine. Stormy Records has moved down the street and it looks like Green Brain is going to Grow! With Green Brain, you will never get a headache! Love it.

Yelp
Green Brain is that wonderful breed of comic shop that combines knowledgeable staff with a fantastic selection. The shop proudly stocks titles for every age of reader and the large kid's section is well organized and inviting. If you're looking for single issues or trades Green Brain has you covered, ditto if you're looking for major titles or indie gems. Whoever happens to be behind counter is always happy to talk comics or provide fantastic recommendations. Wherever you're located this local shop is worth the drive.

Yelp
Green Brain is the best around! It's got a great selection of mainstream, indie, and, all ages comics. Nice owners and employees. Very fun place to go to!

Yelp
Great local business :) I am new to the comic world and so there is a lot I do not know. The staff at Green Brain always help me figure out what I might be interested in and never make me feel "uncool" for not knowing much. They even had awesome packs of mini comics to give away for Halloween (instead of candy) and the kids loved them!

Yelp
Great little comic shop. They're always friendly and willing to help. Nice selection of indie and non hero comics.

Yelp
I love Green Brain. The store has a fantastic selection of comics across a wide variety of genres, all clearly organized and easy to browse. The owners and staff are wonderful. They also sponsor a number of excellent events both in the store and around the community. All in all a real top notch operation.
