"Down at the Farmer’s Market, this pub captures the vibes of the historic building its in — the door is green to echo the Prohibition-era sign that this spot has booze. At the bar revelers will find local beers, classic cocktails, and a little drink called the Pink Thong which should be a mandatory order. There’s also an extensive menu of sandwiches, salads, tacos, and bigger dishes like a chicken fried ribeye." - Courtney E. Smith, Kevin Gray

Google
Awesome pub vibe. 45 is a great bartender. The food is homemade and portions are generous. The drinks are strong and shots well crafted. Its a cozy place with authentic ties to Dallas prohibition history. You feel welcome and comfortable. All the dishes are yummy and a step above normal bar food. The customers are friendly. You are likely to meet a new friend.

Google
Nice neighborhood bar with great food and drink choices on the menu. Enjoyed the chicken fried steak and Dallas Blonde Service was swift and very friendly. Since it was a nice evening I enjoyed sitting outside, but I can imagine having a great time inside with a few people next time 'round.

Google
Burger was 1/2 pound, cooked perfectly medium rare as requested. My son had salmon tacos, which were very good. Service was a bit slow but friendly. Loved the patio.

Google
Great food! Baked avacado is a must have! Good drinks and nice outdoor seating.

I am DJing here for a friend and it's very nice Historical Marker place that's been well upkept. The vibe is really great. If you are in the area I would definitely recommend it.

Pros: The atmosphere is comfy and nice. The establishment is very nice and interesting. I was on a tour so it was an amazing experience. The story about the self-locking women’s bathroom is very scary and I am intrigued but not brave enough to use the restroom myself. Go on the ghost tour to find out what I’m talking about. Taylor is amazing!!! Cons: I ordered a mix drink with extra grenadine. Meaning I wanted it to be extra sweet. However, it was heavily filled with liquor and little sweetness.

My girlfriend and I had an awesome time at this Bar and grill. We got the chips and queso (amazing queso with pico and ground beef omg yo yummy 😋) and chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes, sauteed spinach onions and bacon. Cesar and Alberto took great care of us. Service was fast, food was delicious and they have a jukebox so you can pick your own music!

Google
Great atmosphere.. food was perfectly filling and fair priced. Our waiter/bartender was amazing, the only "negative" would be they deep pour their drinks so beware they are strong but I wasn't mad about it!!!!

Yelp
Found this hidden spot on Yelp, and it was a cool experience. It is a bar that serves food, but the food was pretty good. I also appreciated that this spot has a private parking lot, which was nice because in this area there is a lot of street parking. Our waitress CiCi was amazing because not only was she managing the tables but was also the bartender for the whole spot. She took time to educate us on the happy hour, only $1 off on cocktails, but they were very tasty. I got a Manhattan, yum! Food wise, my kid got a burger, I got fish tacos, and because I checked into Yelp, I got free chips and salsa. Our chips were warm, and that made them even better. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because although CiCi was awesome, when it gets busy, any superstar could have used help. The other reason for the 4 is because of the prices. The quality and portion size were not bad at all, but the prices are definitely on the high-end because of where they are located. I would come back again, though.

Yelp
Our group of 6 showed up for Sunday brunch on St. Patrick's day. It wasn't very busy, so we were surprised at how slow the service was. Our server was nice, but also seemed to struggle with English, and several people had incorrect orders. For example, we made it clear that we were there for brunch, and a few of us ordered the Chicken Fried Ribeye, and they brought the lunch/dinner version instead of the brunch version. It was very tasty, and so were the potatoes and spinach... but the meat was extremely thin for $20. The beer selection was unfortunate for a place being called a 'public house' (which is a British term), as there were no British/Irish beers besides Guinness. The other thing that really got to us, is that they put all of our orders on one check, but said we can't split it more than 4 ways. I have never seen this before at a restaurant. So while the food quality was great, this place loses points for service, and value. Pros: -Good food quality -Free parking lot (surprising for being so close to downtown) Cons: -no paper menus -slow service -sub-optimal handling of a larger group -expensive for the portion sizes -beer selection doesn't match the theme of the restaurant

Yelp
I love a juicy cheeseburger and this burger was juicy. I was able to enjoy it with a nice cocktail my favorite, a Moscow Mule. When I arrived, there was no one in the restaurant it was very quiet. The service was very friendly. I also was able to receive free chips and salsa with my yelp. Check in if you're looking for some good beer and a great cocktail and a great burger. This is a great spot to check out.

Yelp
Good food. A little busy on a Friday late afternoon. Only one waitress, but she did a good job of taking care of us. Downtown Dive bar.

Yelp
Green Door Public House is the only freestanding restaurant in the Farmer's Market, located a few blocks from Deep Ellum. It occupies the first floor of the two story brick building built in the late 1800's. The staff, the food and the drinks will not dissapoint. During my last visit, I ordered the cheese fries with queso instead of shredded cheese and they were to die for. My sister enjoyed her wings and mimosas. I always order Kettle One on the rocks, and the pour was decent, but nothing to brag about. If your ever in the area, or want a quick bite to eat after shopping the Farmer's Market, I definitely recommend stopping by Green Door .

Yelp
Brought a large group - 15 people for a late lunch about 1:30pm on a Wednesday. Service was ok, place was petty empty at this time. This review is not about service or food timing as I know we kinda overloaded the kitchen not expecting a big crowd at 1:30pm. I picked this place based on the Yelp reviews of the food. However 15 meals served and the consensus was... mid at best. Cheeseburger, Patty Melt, Philly Cheese, chicken sandwich, soups all just average at best. Everything was cooked to order and no mistakes, just not great flavor across the board. Everything was just under seasoned and was mediocre. Don't hate it, just less than what I expected based on reviews and we had large sample size of 15 meals!

Yelp
Saturday, 12:30 pm. Seems like the cook called in sick and they have whomever trying. Burger came out raw. Every table in the patio returned something. Nobody inside so the wait staff is also cooking? Too bad.

Lisa T.

Yelp
Great local bar. Great food & drinks Best chips and guacamole! Really good pork tacos Great drinks.

Liz C.

Yelp
Very good ambiance...the staff are all friendly and courteous. Nice little spot, wish I knew of it sooner...HH until 7pm, yes! The food was also very tasty and fresh, even the salsa and chips (seasoned) were delicious

Yelp
We came here before a Phoenix concert - this place is about 5 minutes from Southside Ballroom. You can seat yourself - there is ample seating at this pub-like establishment. The service appeared quickly and efficiently. The beers were good and cold. I had the Shrimp Po'boy. It was delicious! Shrimp grilled with cheese, onions, and jalapeños- what more could you want? It was just the right-sized sandwich to satisfy. My woman has the BLTA with fried egg added and declared it to be one of the best sandwiches she has ever had. And she loves sammies. All in all - the food was excellent as was the service. This is definitely the go-to when you are in the Southside Ballroom area.

Sarah F.

Yelp
This place is awesome! My boyfriend & I come here all of the time. The food is top notch, the service is excellent. It's always busy no matter what night of the week. Definitely a place I would try!

Kate V.

Yelp
I was so impressed with the service at this place!!! We were welcomed nicely upon entry and our server brought over water and checked in immediately. It has a pub vibe but we were pleasantly surprised by a few great wine choices they had on hand. The food was also prompt and very good. This is the type of neighborhood bar that is all too rare in this country and is all around a great experience.

Shonda G.

Yelp
Surprisingly delicious. I found this place when searching for hand cut fries. We had the turkey burger, BLT, and skillet Queso. Service impeccable, love the music. Plus they have parking! Will be back!

Hailey F.

Yelp
Pretty good food! I had the jerk chicken sandwich, which is def NOT jerk chicken, but still was delicious in my opinion. Also enjoyed the turkey burger as well. Cheese fries were great, and I preferred them over their regular fries.

Chase R.

Yelp
Went here with a few friends after the farmers market. Ordered one round of drinks with food. After eating, we were brought our check without the option of ordering more or splitting our tab. We wanted another round and food to-go but he said no because we had to leave. We asked to speak to the manager, which he said he was. Another bartender said he was the manager as well. Very confusing and poor customer service. It's sad because we used to frequent the place but this encounter left a sour taste in our mouth. Ending note: we were told there was a time limit on tables over an hour so it's probably not a good spot to watch the Cowboys.

Ebony E.

Yelp
If you looking for a place downtown, that still has affordable and good food and drinks this is it! They have parking so no need to worry about downtown paying to park. Great service the bartenders are cool, sweet and conversational. It's a nice size pub. Indoor and outdoor seating. I had the Cuban sandwich with hand cut fries. I was so excited I forgot to take a pic. I recommend it!

Ty D.

Yelp
DO ORDER HERE .. The food Quality is never the same , sometimes it's Ight , most times it's trash , I got tired of ordering here through yelp so I actually went to the restaurant and let me tell ya , the hostess/ bartender was rude as hell and I wasn't expecting to get a raw burger smh I will not be or from them anytime soon WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY !!

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Great place, can be a bit loud at times on certain days. Food quality is good, drink portions are very good.

Adrian B.

Yelp
You would think they are in the weeds with how long it took to get a drink or even spoken to on a Sunday at 3:00pm and 7 customers. Old management needs to come back.

Spencer H.

Yelp
We had just got into Dallas for the weekend and came here for lunch. We came at a less busy time. The staff was friendly. The food was good! I was brought back to my childhood with some delicious chicken tenders. The honey mustard and ranch paired perfectly. The fries were also good. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal.

Garrett K.

Yelp
Raw meat on my burger.. recommend everyone to stick with hardwood tavern across the street.

Mike D.

Yelp
Nice little bar with cool history behind the building. Had the street tacos and they were very good. The service was great too.

Pedro B.

Yelp
This is by far the best fried chicken in the area. Would definitely recommend to all my friend and co workers. The chicken is tasty. Crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Great flavor. The staff is extremely friendly. Great service and wait time is not long.

Vanessa T.

Yelp
The service is horrible. The waiter (who was clearly new) claimed he was the manager. When we finally found the manager to tell him about his employee all he said was "well, we will talk to him and if you choose to not come back that's your choice". Then they rushed us out when the restaurant was mostly empty. Never going back!

Andrea W.

Yelp
Food is good and service is superb! Call in process is quick and easy feels like a neighborhood bar and it was around the corner from the farmers market good location. Also late night eats is a major perk!!

Timmy T.

Yelp
Just go for the queso ... not sure about the drinks but def go for the chips queso and salsa (id give it 5 stars) But brunch was lacking // roasted potatoes are actually French fries French toast has an orange zest Bacon was good! Sister said the chicken sandwich wasn't good. Boyfriend said greendoor breakfast was bad. Sausage wasn't cooked. No one finished their meal // everyone had leftovers // no one boxed their leftovers

Krystal D.

Yelp
I thought this place was about to be the bomb dot com...negative. Ya let me down, Yelp. :\ I mean, reviews are subjective, right? So, if you enjoy questionably strange looking mimosas, unenthusiastic service, and greasy, unseasoned food..then you'll love Green Door! Otherwise, the experience here was lacking on several levels. The mimosa had some sort of colored frothy film glazing the top of the carafe. The migas came with 2 very greasy corn tortillas and some "breakfast potatoes" that were more like old, limp French fries that were re-dipped in grease and thrown on the plate. Unamused. Left here and had to go somewhere else in order to get this experience out of my head. Smh.

Taleeana G.

Yelp
this place is such a cozy restaurant bar is tucked in a corner Downtown Dallas, just a walk away from the farmers market. As soon as I walked in the bartenders made me feel like I was at home. I always love it when the server tells me what I should order based off of what they like or the best sellers. I had a taste for a sandwich, I had no idea I was going to get something so tasty. He recommended that I ordered Farmers Market Cheesesteak ($13 sliced ribeye covered in provolone cheese, grilled onions & jalapeños, avocado, mayo, served with ranch.) We chatted about where we are from, I said Wisconsin and he ordered me the cheese fries. lol if that's not grade A service, i'm not sure what is. Check them out for indoor or patio dining.

Lori A.

Yelp
Fun place. Great vibe. Adults smart crowd. Great DJs. Great cucumber margaritas. You get to meet random people too.

Khiana C.

Yelp
The absolute best place!! We came for the first time on a Thursday's: the vibes were amazing! What we loved the most is that every one that comes here is treated like family! The bar staff was so friendly! Second time in on a Sunday and the vibe is yet still the same. Jen was the sweetest and makes bad a** micheladas! Love love love it here!

Fernando A.

Yelp
This place is underrated! The best service you can get downtown. Wide variety of drinks and great late kitchen food. The vibe and service is why me and my friends and family come often! Keep it up Green Door!!

Bruce W.

Yelp
Was visiting and my girlfriend recommend have a sandwich and beer and this was a nice surprise as it had outdoor dining and cool classic rock music Good food good drink friendly staff

Krupa H.

Yelp
We came to the green door public house after visit. The van Gogh immersion experience across the street. The weather was gorgeous so we were able to sit out on the patio. They use QR codes for their menu which was fairly extensive. The server was nice and attentive and everything we ordered was tasty. We are a party of six who ordered appetizers salad soup and entrées and sandwiches and tacos. So, for them to get all of that right in a efficient manner is pretty impressive.

Jen W.

Yelp
The food was good, service great! One guy was handling every one there and doing a fine job! The outdoor patio was a fun spot although the fire lamps needed to be on and placed where all would benefit. But please clean bathrooms. My feet stuck to the floor. The menu shows happy hour specials from 2-7. We ordered 3 apps, way more food than we needed but all tasty. Skillet beef queso our favorite. Paying we noticed we didn't receive the happy hour price...guy was nice and adjusted a small % off for the confusion, but nothing on the menu alerts you to sat/sun not honoring happy hour specials.

Gregg D.

Yelp
Great little bar with a very friendly staff ...lots of beer and relaxing...hope to stop in again while I'm in town. Food was good as well... enjoyed the fried pickles and a Cuban sandwich.

Art D.

Yelp
I was staying at a Vrbo that was walking distance from this spot so parking was not an factor for me. I visited on a Friday and Saturday night. Friday got there about 10:30 left about midnight. Saturday about 11 and left at 2 am. Great spot. The only reason I did not do 5 stars was because the female bartender on Friday night gave me the cold shoulder and I did not know why, I was just standing at the bar waiting to order a drink. But she did warm up when I opened a tab. The atmosphere Friday was good. There is a dj spinning and bumping so good old and new school hip hop and Latin mixes. I did have some food on Friday, the jerk chicken sandwich and it was pretty good. The drinks were not bad and the overall customer services was good. The second night I met the bar manager and he is a cool guy. I sat outside and had a cigar on the second night and that was cool, can smoke outside. Saturday in contrast to Friday was much more busy. Still a good DJ and not too busy where you could not get a seat and a drink if you wanted. Now for the good stuff eye candy! Yes there was some eye candy in the house. Now I will say most of it came with a date. There were a few in groups but these days you don't know if they all weren't dating each other! Both days there was eye candy and more on Saturday. Overall I recommend and will visit again.

Terri W.

Yelp
After the Van Gogh Immersive Experience we crossed the street and popped into the Green Door. Nice little place with a great vibe and friendly staff. I had shrimp tacos which were loaded with shrimp and bursting with flavor and came with chips, salsa and guacamole. It was delicious all around and a nice size portion. My husband had a BLT and avocado sandwich and he said it was also very good. We don't get to Dallas very often, but I would love another opportunity to visit!

Jodi G.

Yelp
I used to like coming here and sitting on their patio or at the bar for lunch or dinner. One of the reasons I liked it was because parking is usually available in the lot unless there is a lot of people at the yoga studio which shares the lot. Another reason I liked it was because it was pretty chill and I could always look forward to that. They have a newer jukebox and depending on who is playing music, you don't know what to expect. Most of the bartenders have been good. I usually stick to whiskey or the Irish mule made with Jameson. I've also tasted a friend's martini which was made well. I can also recommend the Bloody Mary. The food is good, but I wouldn't say great. I've tried the wings, fish tacos, muffuletta, burger, stuffed avocado, salad, and portobello sandwich. I have had brunch here twice and was not a fan. The chicken fried chicken was not good. I told a friend of mine not to order it. He listened to the server who said it was good and he ended up hating it. I forgot what I ordered the other time, but it was forgettable. In the past two months, I came with friends on a Saturday night and a Thursday night for a drink or late night bite. I'm not sure what is going on, but both times they had a DJ & it seemed to be Latin club night. It was definitely unexpected to say the least. Maybe the restaurant is hurting and trying to bring in revenue with this. I'm not sure, but what I am sure of is that I will likely no longer frequent this establishment which was once a go-to for me. I'll likely still stop by the owners' other establishments -Uncle Uber's Sammich shop and Harwood (which is walking distance to GDPH).

Yelp
First time here. Just wanted a quick bite. D Magazine Best Neighbor Restaurant. Not a big place but laid back and a cool vibe. Inside and outside seating. Full bar and menu. Jerk chicken sandwich was spot on. Fries cooked to perfection. Cuban was just as good. Will definitely be back.

Garrett K.

Yelp
Good burger however the service is always hit or miss. You may wait 5 min for a Togo order or you will wait 45 min to even get someone attention if there are people drinking at the bar

Steve S.

Yelp
My neighbor and I dined here today for an early lunch, and had a so so experience: Food: I got a crispy chicken salad and my buddy got pork tacos, bpth recommended by the bartender. He liked his tacos, but the chips were greasy and a bit chewy. The salad was fresh and tasty (the Italian vinaigrette was among the best dressings I had tasted, ever), but the xliced up chicken tender was way overcooked, dry and chewy. Drinks: cold and tasty, but pricey. Service: attentive guys at the bar, nicely executed service.

Esther A.

Yelp
Exactly what you would expect from a pub. decent prices, decent food that is neither terrible nor exceptional, dark lighting and floors that look sticky even if they aren't. we picked this place randomly because it was short walk away from the place where we were staying. I ordered chicken and waffles and a coffee. The coffee was terrible, but I wasn't expecting good coffee and really who is going to a pub for coffee, so that one is on me. The chicken had the softish kind of dredging, instead of a nice fried crispy texture, but it tasted nice. The waffle was 4 small triangles, not huge as promised by the menu, but it was enough food and it tasted like a normal waffle. Nothing fancy, just food to fill you up. Oh yea I almost forgot, there was a yellowish gravy on top. I could take it or leave it.

Gregory O.

Yelp
I've made this place one of my regular stops after work. It's nice to have a have neighbor pub in downtown. The food is surprisingly really good and has a nice variety. Really good beer selection with full bar and very friendly and knowledgeable bartenders and staff.

Lisabeth L.

Yelp
Great little place to grab a bite. We are downtown for the exhibition across the street, and found this based on closeness. If you are visiting the downtown area, come here for lunch/dinner. Blackened Fish Taco was a great choice!!

Dustin U.

Yelp
This is a great pub! My brothers and I will often frequent this place. The service is prompt, the pours are heavy, and the food is delicious! Last time I was there a DJ was setting up, and my friends and I were a bit concerned, because he looked to have a different style than most of us. Management must have hired the right guy, because he read the crowd like a book and played just the right style at just the right volume. As the night progressed, and drinks abounded, the DJ adapted to the change in crowd perfectly. I wish I'd of caught his name so I could give him props. I've left my credit card here on more than one occasion, and it's always waiting on me in the morning. The staff has always been attentive, friendly, and mindful. The patio is large, with nice seating. If you're looking for a great place to have a drink and grab a bite with friends in the heart of downtown Dallas, I recommend this place.

Stephanie W.

Yelp
I like this place. Good cocktail menu and food menu. They have skillet Mac & cheese you can add toppings to, and I had their crispy chicken salad. Everything was tasty. Nice pub feel with exposed brick and cozy lighting. We had excellent service. I would happily go back next time we're in the area.

Junk S.

Yelp
After a long flight from South America and hoping to make it home on time to order from chik FIL a. I ended up getting home at midnight and giving this place a try. I don't know how you guys get good reviews, but the food i ordered absolutely without a doubt sucked. Shrimp tacos = 1 shrimp chopped into tiny bits, then sprinkled onto a goop of taco toppings. Chicken salad= you know that lettuce in the trash look at whataburger Chicken fingers =

Mattea Trey S.

Yelp
Went there for the first time after church today. Very big disappointment. Food was so-so. Bad cut of meat for the chicken fried ribeye. Service was terrible. Took forever to get waited on and it was not that crowded. Did not get silverware until a couple of minutes after food arrived and then had to go in search for more as not everyone at our table got some. No one came by to refill tea or water. Had to try and flag someone down to get any. Won't go back.

Stephanie V.

Yelp
We walked up to green door and the bartender was taking care of the place since it was a Taco tuesday, fairly early in the afternoon. He was very knowledgable on the craft beer which I appreciated. We ordered some chips and salsa (free with check in) and tacos since they have a special in tuesdays. The pork tacos were super juicy with the green salsa but I loved it. I got 3 pork tacos and one ground beef taco. Man they were filling!! Their corn tortillas were bigger than I expect and the ground beef tacos were stuffed to the max! I liked this place and I would've never expected it to have a taco Tuesday special because it feels more like a pub to me but do your thing you guys!!! They have the real ones working in the kitchen so the tacos are worth a trip.

Danielle U.

Yelp
First time here...and pleasantly surprised with how good lunch was! Started with chips and queso/salsa. The salsa was hot, so that was a good sign. The crispy chicken salad cake recommended and my friend was happy with it! The cheesesteak was also suggested and I got that. The bread was reallllly good. The steak was pretty good. I didn't get all the toppings, but I would definitely get the cheesesteak again. Walked in and it is clearly a bar. So I was surprised it was so good.
