The Best Christmas Bars In Philly - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"This Center City bar is named after the game where you never end up with an iPad. Everything in the joint—from the walls and fuzzy chairs to the Christmas trees and faux fireplaces—is rose colored. The only thing keeping White Elephant from ranking higher is their non-Christmas playlist (it’s a lot of Barry White and Rick James). But this is still a fun place to drink cider sangria and imagine what it might be like to visit Paris Hilton’s cabin in the woods." - Candis Mclean

I’ve come to this bar a few times during happy hour and had such a great time. The bartenders (Marie, Shady, and Alyssa) were so fun and friendly; really made the whole experience. The food is good for the price and they play more than just sports on their TVs.. which I really enjoyed. However, the manager Kyle was hovering around us trying to insert himself into our conversations. At first I thought he was just doing his job but it was starting to make us extremely uncomfortable. We ended up closing out our tab and going to a different bar because of him being super creepy. Unfortunately, I haven’t returned to this bar since then because he’s always been there.

These were the nicest but most incompetent people I have ever run across. We sat down and, after being ignored for 10 minutes, went up to the bar to place our order - two drinks and an appetizer. They couldn’t make the drink I requested - a not unusual drink. So I ordered something else that they said they could make. Then we sat down. There was no AC. My companion’s drink arrived but mine did not. After about 10 minutes watching the staff laugh and chat behind the bar, making an occasional drink (not mine), I again went to the bar and asked about my drink. Apparently the TWO people I ordered it from completely forgot about it. I got my drink and - a few minutes later - after betting with my companion that we would never see it again - our appetizer arrived. We never saw a waiter again. This was late afternoon and the place was not crowded. So eventually, I again approached the bar and asked to cash out. I was handed a bill for $72…for two drinks and an appetizer. On inspection, I noticed four drinks and an appetizer. I politely inquired and, after some back and forth, they finally realized they had added two drinks from another table. They apologized and redid the bill. Like I said - they were all very friendly - but not attentive and not competent. It was a unique experience - eclectic atmosphere. AC would have been nice. We won’t be back.

Sara the bartender is the best! Amazing service, great recommendations, a very fun and hospitable. All of the food and drinks were amazing, and Sara topped it off by being so much fun! Definitely coming back again thanks to Sara and the rest of the staff. 🍸🍸🍽️🍽️ Do not leave without trying the filet bites! 🥩

This is my 2nd time here and the service gets better and better each time! Shady’s personality is a vibe and his drinks are 10/10! He is so personable and makes the night better. When you come ask for Shady and his recommendations won’t steer you wrong!

Been here for trivia and for karaoke and it's always a vibe. Bartenders are pleasant and engaging. And it's aesthetically so beautiful!! Will be our new hang.

Google
Overall a positive experience. The martini espressos were all great and the food was above average for what is essentially a bar. I don't want to knock it too much, but we had a server in training that would have to come back minutes later to double check what we ordered. I'm sure this is an outlier, so I would still highly recommend you try this place.

Google
Updated: NOT closed apparently? But they were closed on a day that said they were open to decorate. I still missed out. 🥲 Well that sucks.... traveled over 40 min for this place only to find that they are closed with a cease order that is dated 4/18/25. Im guessing they closed? That was over 7 months ago....

Google
Normally I love this bar and it pains me to only give it 3 stars. The bartenders are always amazing (Marie makes the best martinis hands down), the drinks are phenomenal, they have a great happy hour, and the food is really good and worth the price… but every time I see the manager (Kyle I think his name is), I almost turn around and walk out. Major creep, he makes me and my friends really uncomfortable when we go there. If it weren’t for the other staff that work there I wouldn’t keep coming back (also bring Bobby back please my friends and I miss him!!!)

Yelp
I was in town for a weekend recently, and after seeing this place on IG, I knew I had to make a visit. It's definitely IG worthy! Cute for a date or a girl nights out! I love a themed bar and Pink Elephant did not disappoint. They don't take reservations so it was first come, first serve! We arrived before they opened and there was already a line forming! I can see why! We grabbed a seat at the bar. The bartenders were busy but not slow. We had just left brunch so we pretty full. Just had drinks here! I'm enjoyed the "Be Mine" Margarita! My only complaint was that it was freezing. Like there was no heat. Other than that, I loved my experience here!

Yelp
We were incredibly lucky to stumble on this place while looking for somewhere to watch superbowl after everywhere else was full with lines around the corner. The vibe was great and it wasn't packed or hot. I kept my starter jacket on the entire night. The bartenders were crushing it all night. They have very tasty espresso martinis. The rest of the crowd was having an amazing time. Even the food was good. Had I known it was so good I would have eaten more. We only ate to soak up the alcohol. The owner was hanging and he seemed cool. Go Birds!!!!

Yelp
The bar is pretty, very instagram-esque. They change the overall theme on each festive occasion. Cocktails were unfortunately on draft so premade. I have heard the espresso martini is good so maybe opt for that instead.

Yelp
Good service, good drinks. DJ was really good ! Not too crowded. Love the ambiance ! Cool decorations

Yelp
The drinks were on the pricier end but they are cocktails so it wasn't anything too crazy. I liked the drinks a lot', they had just the perfect amount of coffee to sweetness. The place is packed and you dont need a reservation but no guarantee you will get somewhere to sit. We really enjoyed the Christmas decor

Yelp
The food was overall very good, though I wouldn't recommend the banana pudding. The environment was pleasant and the staff was friendly. Service was a bit slow, which is the main reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five.

Yelp
Drinks were some of the worst martinis I've had in my life! Service from the bar sucked except the girl who was waiting on the tables , she was nice! If you want a good picture with pink hearts in the background and overly sugar drinks this is the place for you, if not don't go!

Yelp
Smallest place ever. Even though it's a bar so it's expected, the whole place gets crowded extremely fast. I love the themed bar and the pop-ups but I feel like they don't have the space to do these things knowing how many people would be coming to experience it. They do have tables, but don't take reservations. It's a seat yourself situation which can also cause some issues. Their food is really good, drinks are good as well. Food just takes FOREVER to get to you - doesn't matter how simple you think your meal is it will take a very long time. Bartenders are 10/10, every time I've been the bartenders are a pleasure to talk to!

Yelp
Bartenders are great, the place is decorated way over the top and the drinks are good. Center city priced cocktails but tasty and a wide variety. The food is pretty good, not a lot of seating though

Yelp
So the name has changed and it's now known as The Elephant Espresso Martini Bar. It has also had names such as: the Green Elephant (for St. Patrick's Day), the Pink Elephant (for Valentine's Day), and the White Elephant (for Christmas). It's a festive bar completely decked out in Christmas ornaments, chandeliers, pink ribbons, white Christmas trees, and blinged-out garland. It's a "seat yourself" place, so you want to arrive when they open to get a seat because they do not take reservations. The place filled quickly and was standing room only by 5:30 pm. The place was jumping. I could have stayed all night because the music was on point. Hit after hit from the 70's to the 90's. It's a fun place to socialize. OK, OK, so let's get to the food. I ordered the Mozzarella sticks, the Cheesy Bacon Burger, the Hot Honey Pepperoni Flatbread, and the Classic Bruschetta. Everything was nicely plated. The cheesy bacon burger was cut in half, with the cut sides faced-down in the cheese surrounded by thin cut fries. The bun was grilled and had a nice charred taste, and it was crunchy. The burger was a bit salty to me. I wasn't sure if it was the burger itself or the bacon that made it salty, but I was able to eat it. The hot honey pepperoni flat bread was very good. The blend of the pepperoni with the jalapeños on top with the sweetness of the honey made the flavors dance in my mouth with each bite. The mozzarella sticks and the bruschetta are classics, and you can't go wrong with those. They taste the same where and whenever I've eaten them. Since this is an espresso martini bar, I felt like I needed to sample the libations. I opted for The Eggnog Old Fashioned (Maker's Mark, eggnog, angosture bitters, orange peel, & cinnamon) I also tried the SUGAR PLUM FAIRY (pomegranate, orange liquor, & champagne) and lastly I went with the MELTED SNOWMAN (Absolut vanilla, Bailey's, coconut cream , & shredded coconut). All of the drinks were very good, and everyone in the place had a glass or two in their hand. This place is definitely a vibe filled with millennials and a few of us seasoned guests. If you can get in before the crowd, you will have a great time. Till we eat again...

Yelp
Came here with a friend to celebrate Valentine's Day, visiting Philly from California! The atmosphere was very welcoming and friendly. The decorations were so beautiful and romantic, definitely the perfect spot for photo opportunities. The cover charge was only $10 (as a Los Angeles native, this is chump change!), the drinks were a bit pricy but definitely worth it with the atmosphere (about $40 for a Double Tequila Pineapple and Espresso Martini). The service was amazing, we were helped by the bartender Shady and he was super friendly and outgoing. He definitely is meant to be in this role and you can tell he loves what he does. He made our drinks super quick and they tasted delicious with cute garnishes on top. I saw him draw designs for people and just create an amazing atmosphere. Only comment is it's a bit cramped if it's super busy but that's not really a bad thing depending on your comfort level! Just be ready to say lots of excuse mes !

Yelp
The good stuff: The location is really nice with all the festive decorations, good taste in music (not super loud so you can also enjoy a conversation). The drinks were yummy and also had good presentation. The bad stuff: We ordered a chicken buffalo dip and unfortunately it tasted and smelled like my dog's food, it was nothing to die for, DO NOT RECOMMEND. Also, if this is your first time here be aware that you need to self serve and order your drinks/food at the bar (no clear instructions that you need to do this). We waited for 10 mins or so before realizing that we didn't have a server. A sign or note on the menu would be nice, other costumers around us didn't realize either until we told them.

Yelp
Came here for happy hour (SIPS) in the summer. The space is beautifully decorated, there are a variety of seating options from soft and comfortable, low top and high top, and also barstools. The service was fast and friendly and the HH food and drink options were great. I loved the $7 espresso martini. It wasn't too sweet, definitely strong, and very smooth. We had the loaded tots, the $5 buffalo chicken flatbread and the $5 margarita flatbread. The tots were the star. They were perfectly crispy and had the right amount of toppings. The flatbreads were good for $5 and I would definitely order them again. I ordered a spicy pineapple margarita from the regular cocktail menu. It wasn't spicy at all. If you have a low spice tolerance.c you could definitely handle it. It was tasty, very fruity, and a little tart. For $15, I wished it had been spicier, but it was still a good margarita. The women's bathroom has two stalls and was clean and bright.

Yelp
I love Valentine's Day so of course I had to grab a friend and celebrate Galentines. We came here for the Christmas pop up which was fun so I knew it'd be great. The Espress-o Your Love Martini was the first thing the bartender recommended so I went with that. It was well made and very good. What I really liked about this place though is the attentive and great service. The bartenders were fantastic. And of course the decor was fun, loud and festive. So fun!

Yelp
Good espresso martinis & cute seasonal decor but get there earlier then later because it gets really crowded!

Yelp
This is now called just The Elephant. It is a martini bar, specifically espresso martinis! I had a great time at this very aesthetic bar.

Yelp
This place was super crowded on a Friday night but really chill in the afternoons. I like the indulgent array of espresso martinis which seems to be their specialty, but they also surprisingly have a fantastic burger with a generous serving of fries!

Yelp
Terrible place to go in Philly. Bartenders are friendly but the owner was checking out my friend the whole time. We asked our bartender if he knew the guy with combed over white hair and turns out it was just the owner, at the door, staring at women. Gave us weird, creepy vibes so we decided to leave. We didn't get any food, but the drinks were good but the owner was creepy. There are better bars to go to in Philly, don't choose this one!

Rachel B.

Yelp
I am absolutely disgusted by this place. My friend was physically assaulted and choke held by another patron because she "stole her seat" at the bar while the other patron went to the bathroom. I do not believe violence is the answer to an issue like that and i think it is absolutely ridiculous the way the bouncer handled the situation. He immediately blamed my friend because he personally knew the other patrons. I would have sympathy if the bouncer had any remorse, however, when my friend went back in the bar to figure out the identity of the woman's name to file a police report, the bouncer stated that he is going to delete the footage and blame the whole situation on my friend if she didn't "get the f*** out of there." I am absolutely disgusted by this establishment. Will not be returning

Annalysse M.

Yelp
The wait staff looked disheveled and was noticeably disengaged--it's like none of them knew they were working at a restaurant. We were there last night for more than an hour and no one asked if we wanted another drink or wanted to order food. Upon being ghosted by our server and cashed out by someone else, we saw her sitting on the patio, in uniform, with her coworkers. Espresso martinis tasted like melted frappuccinos. This place is all appearance, no atmosphere. Your instagram feed would love it, but if you're looking for a nice time at a nice establishment, go literally anywhere else. There's a reason it was empty on a Thursday night

Meredith K.

Yelp
We loved this place so much! Danielle was our server and she was awesome! The service was fast and I love the rotating themes!!! St Paddy's for the win

Lauren C.

Yelp
This restaurant was amazing! Michelle was our bartender, and she made the best drinks ever! The food and drinks came fast and the decorations were so adorable! I recommend the Emerald Espresso Martini.

Aubrey C.

Yelp
The Pink Elephant had everything! It was absolutely gorgeous inside -- if you can get in. Even the moment it opened, there was such a line that it was impossible to stand, let alone find a seat. I would love to be part of this magical place in the future, I just think strict reservations and time slots would be perfect for this tight spot. That way, everyone who wants to experience it, can!
