Google
This is a very cute coffee shop. The menu has something for everyone, whether that’s food or drink. I found the latte to be somewhat milky though. Next time I’ll get an additional shot added. The service is excellent, unless they’re busy, then expect to wait. There is a good amount of seating, but it fills up quickly. The prices are higher than some other places in the area. You have to try their version of a Pop-Tart. Parking can be a pain.

I believe we had at trip or two here while still living in PA, but I guess I never reviewed it. We were in the area for a quick, overnight work trip. I had Green Engine marked down for a coffee. Since I happened to be in the area later in the day, I went with a “lighter” coffee drink, their espresso mule. It was unique, but something nice for an afternoon treat. You have a little bitterness from the espresso, but then some sweetness from the ginger beer at the end. I also grabbed an onion and cheese scone as a snack for my wife. Good texture and flavor. The staff was super friendly and it’s a great place to hang out and relax.

Google
Easily one of the best coffee shops I’ve ever been to. The latte was phenomenal (decaf half-sweet vanilla latte with oat milk), and the food was outstanding—cashew butter toast with jam and figs, plus a breakfast wrap I can’t quite remember the name of, haha. 10/10 recommend. (*I partially ate the food before taking the video/photo, so that’s why it looks a little off, and I downed the latte before as well, ha!) The atmosphere was great—loved the bar seating by the window, and the chairs were actually a good size, not too small. The music was nice, and the service was awesome. The two guys at the counter and the barista who made my drink were all super kind. This is definitely my new go-to work spot. 🔥 Oh, and definitely try the pastries!

Google
I enjoyed the vibe of this cafe very much. I ordered a latte, avocado toast, and some Danish pastries. The coffee quality was excellent, and the pastries were so good that I bought some more to take home. The service was also courteous, and I felt like I should have brought a book to read here for a while so that I could hang out here a little longer.

Google
Great food and coffee, cozy atmosphere, and great place to open your laptop and work during the day. I'm a traveling sales person, and I look for cafes like this everywhere I go. I want more of this place.

Google
Found this little gem 💎 while visiting Philadelphia. Chai latte, pistachio pastry and sandwich was absolutely delicious and I really appreciated these recommendations from the coffee shop ☕ manager. Friendly staff and great ambiance. Do not hesitate to visit and enjoy. Thanks Green Engine Coffee Co! 🙌 Please like this review if it helped! Thanks 🙏

Google
I absolutely love this cafe and the work atmosphere. I got the kickstarter breakfast sandwich and a cafe miel iced americano with oat milk and both were amazing. Kickstarter is one of my favorite breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had!! As much as I love this place, I had to knock it down to 4 stars because of the inconvenient parking and you’re likely going to have to wait for seats. But these downsides are because of how good this place is! I highly recommend visiting when you’re in town:)

Google
Sadly the matcha was trash, just tasted like sweetened milk. Doesn’t seem like they use a quality matcha and/or not enough of it. However, the chocolate drop pastry I got was amazing.

Yelp
Cute place with a lot of Christmas decor when we went during the holidays. The coffee was decent, except for a holiday espresso spritz we got. Plenty of seating and friendly staff.

Yelp
We got the iced blueberry thyme (seasonal syrup) latte which was okay. The syrup wasn't really mixed into the drink well, they kinda just pumped it and let it fall to the bottom. After mixing it tasted better but my friend felt like she could make a better latte at home. The chai latte with oat milk was okay, nice mix of spicy and sweet but seemed a bit watery? We were excited to see they have gluten free options on the menu! The staff are very pleasant. They have solid wifi and plenty of seating and outlets, so it is great for working. I was there during lunch time so it was definitely a bit louder, which I didn't mind. Also it is in a very cute neighborhood. Beware, parking is limited.

Yelp
The whole cafe is so cute loved the decor! Stopped in on a Sunday and almost every table was full. The vibe is very much to come and stay a while with friends or family which was so nice on a cold rainy day. Staff were welcoming and helpful! For about $20, I ordered an a kickstarter egg sandwich and a gingerbread latte. The latte was the standout super flavorful, like drinking a ginger snap cookie. The sandwich portion was generous with plenty of egg, though I found myself wishing it had a bit more sauce. It looked amazing, but the flavor was a little more mild than I expected. Def will be back!

Yelp
A good variety of things to choose from, from coffee to not coffee, pastries and prepared foods. We ordered a cappuccino and a latte, both with almond milk, a pastry and a bagel. Both the lattes and cappuccinos were too foamy. The cappuccino is supposed to be that way but a latte is meant to be creamy. The seasonal danish was good, a bit small. If had strawberries with a pistachio sauce underneath. The bagel was soft, with so many different flavors, from the mixed cream cheese to the capers, the pickled onions and the smoked salmon. A lot of seating, but doesn't seem that they have many open spots available because even on a Saturday, there are a lot of students working with their laptops.

Yelp
This is a good spot that is bustling with people, art, and of course coffee! There are a lot of spaces to sit and sip but just know it gets LOUD. Also, the espresso beans themselves are very tasty but the espresso-based beverages are incredibly milky here. They are good if you prefer your coffee more milky but as someone who likes a stronger brew, the cost for a takeout latte isn't really justifiable.

Yelp
Really good food, outstanding coffee and great service. Good vibes there. Even though it gets crowded on the weekends, it's enjoyable.

Yelp
Coffee: their coffee is fresh and smooth. Enjoyable and quick service Food: pricey. I don't feel like the $13 wrap was worth $13. It was good, but without a meat option or veggies, it felt like a rip off Atmosphere: cute coffee shop. A place I would love to sit in and do work if I was in the area

Yelp
Mid. It's one of those places to go to if you don't like the taste of coffee too much, want a decent pastry (their pop tarts are pretty good), and are looking to support a local business. The coffee isn't the best, but it's not bad. It's often rushed, watered down and adding an extra shot doesn't do much. It's a bit pricey for what you get. I don't recommend getting their food items, as, again, they're over priced and *shrug*. You're paying for the vibe/experience more than anything. In this economy, I'd say pass.
google avatar

Naomi P.

Yelp
Service was good, friendly and lots of seating inside. I didn't see any seating outside. Lattes tasted pretty good! The breakfast burrito was good but not worth $13.00 to me since it's just mainly egg and potato. The poptart pastry was very very dry, probably over baked but the flavor was good. Parking was a little annoying, I think it's only street parking for this coffee shop.

Yelp
Super cute interior with two gender-neutral bathrooms, tons of outlets, many seating arrangements, fast wifi, fast and friendly service, and tons of natural lighting. The space is ideal for meetings or working on a laptop. Foodwise, they have a great selection of breakfast items, bagels, burritos, pastries, and excellent coffee (Rival Bros) and tea. Prices seem right. There are absolutely no complaints here! Probably my new favorite work spot in the area.
google avatar

Julianna K.

Yelp
A really cute coffee shop! I love their pastries and their coffee, and it's a great place to study or read. I try to go when it's not too busy because it can take awhile if there's a large crowd.

Yelp
I'm always up for finding good breakfast spots, and being able to get some work done while enjoying good food is always a bonus in the morning. When a friend suggested Green Engine Coffee, I was intrigued and there were vegan options. Started off in the bonus column before my arrival! This is a a cozy coffee house with many different options for seating and an abundance of charger outlets - yayyy!!! Communal tables, sofa seating, high tops, and window seating all created a warm environment. Being a connoisseur of teas, I decided to try the Ginger Turmeric Tea. After making sure the option I wanted was vegan, I ordered the Avocado Toast. The tea was aromatic and had a delicious blend of flavor. The presentation of the Avocado Toast was a delightful surprise. The taste - even better!!! The Avocado spread on the multigrain bread, which was so hearty, was creamy, rich and fresh. The balsamic reduction and red onions were the absolute perfect compliment! Fresh avocado was on top of the spread with fresh herbs as a wonderful garnish. Yes, it was good too! A filling and fresh way to start my day! Oh, and I did get a lot of work done too!

Yelp
Me and my partner both just finished trying this place and holy cow. This place is so close to my home that it's walkable and it's always packed so we were excited to try it. I got a hot chocolate and she got a matcha latte. The drinks were some of the worst drinks I've ever had. I'm not exaggerating. Once my partner got her drink i asked her while we were still inside if she liked her latte. She intimated to me that it want good but didn't say anything further. Once we got outside i tried it. I actually audibly gagged. It was that bad. We both like matcha as well. My hot chocolate was like water. Actually the worst hot chocolate I've ever had. It's a cute place, but it's a coffee shop and the drinks were disgusting. Her avocado toast tasted like vinegar because they didn't drain whatever the pickled garnish was. The plant wall was cute though.

Courtney B.

Yelp
The coffee here is excellent! Been looking for a spot with great coffee and I had some trouble finding what I wanted till I tried this spot. Great atmosphere and fresh juice.

Gayl A.

Yelp
Fabulous piece of quiche and delicious tea. Super crowded on a Saturday morning, which was to be expected, but cute place.

Yelp
Went to this coffee place with a girlfriend of mine. I got the Matcha Latte and Salmon Gravlax. The set up inside was very beautiful and very plant centric. They had a whole plant wall as well. I loved the dish wear that the food came on. My salmon gravlax came on a nice ceramic plate. The onion on the sandwich was thinly sliced and very fresh. The matcha latte wasn't as "matcha" tasting as I prefer my lattes to be.
google avatar

Laura P.

Yelp
This cafe is awesome! It might not seems like it on the outside but when once you stepped inside it's a whole different world! The decoration of the shop includes a piece of a plant(moss?) wall, the pastries and coffee are excellent as well, absolutely love the spinach pastry! People in there were mega friendly, 100% recommend!

Yelp
The best London fog I think I've ever had. And my croissant was delicious! Atmosphere is nice, very clean and fresh. Staff are friendly. Place is seemingly packed and I almost wasn't able to find a place to study at but thankfully I snagged a table. Great place for studying or working. They have WiFi and charging outlets. I will give a warning that the outlets are on the floor and not on the side of a wall so there is a bit of a tripping hazard there but just keep an eye out and you'll be good. I can see why it's on the 'best of the main line' lists

Yelp
When you date someone who works at Haverford College and also go to the Planet Fitness in Ardmore, you find yourself tagging along for the morning commute and having some time to kill before a morning exercise. Fortunately Green Engine Coffee makes that situation an easy one to deal with while also being an easy contender for best non-Starbucks coffeehouse on the Main Line! One of the main things I missed when moving away from the Philly proper for suburban pastures was enjoying the cities vibrant coffee scene on a regular basis. And I especially missed being able to frequent Rival Bros on East Passyunk Ave as frequently as I used to. But thanks to Green Engine I don't have top worry about saying goodbye to their incredible beans since they serve Rival Bros' finest in drip or pour fashion, and even include them in some pretty impressive seasonal lattes. When you make a morning stop breakfast is a must, and any of Green Engine's flaky and wonderful pastries, like their chocolate crossaint deliver a perfect pick me up. But they also have one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had with their Kickstarter which sandwiches ham, egg, cheddar, and chipotle tomato jam in between a house made EVERYTHING English muffin that makes bagels obsolete! Add in art from local artists on the wall, a seasonal menu featuring locally sourced goods, and gelato, and you have a perfect coffeehouse!

Yelp
I this is a great spot in Haverford on a quiet street. Come here for a quick coffee or bite to eat. Come alone or with friends. Great spot to relax and hang out. The matcha spritzer was a bit strong in taste for me. I liked the lox bagel as lox, though! It's a fast, casual spot!

William C.

Yelp
The ambiance is all welcoming. The service is attentive and deliberate. The food surprises and asks you to try every little thing and be surprised. Solid experience.

Yelp
Excellent, welcoming coffee shop with a great vibe and terrific remote work setup. I've spent many, many cumulative hours working from here while visiting my family in Bryn Mawr, and cannot recommend it highly enough. The coffee is superb, noise levels are reasonable all day, I've never had any trouble with the wifi, the pastry selections and menu are delicious and thoughtfully cultivated with plenty of vegetarian options. I particularly recommend the Kickstarter sandwich with avocado and the roasted beet salad, and I look forward to the brioche every time I'm in town. I've never had trouble finding a comfortable workplace, and there are always plenty of power outlets. Literally the only piece of feedback I have for this crew is that I wish they'd use less glitter in their holiday decorations - my computer bag will be bedazzled until the end of time. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Love the live plant wall. Spacious. If you're going to be sitting and writing for hours like me you'll love the couches. Coffee was delicious though a little pricey. They make a great mushroom panini with goat cheese, arugula and mushrooms. It was so delish I went home and made my own version of this. The music is top tier excellent. I used my Shazam multiple times to add new faves to my playlist. This is now my go to coffee spot for wfh

Yelp
Pre covid review that was lost in space .... This super hip spot out on the main line was a great spot to take a little time and enjoy my coffee. I had already eaten but it I would have lovely to eat here looking at the avocado toast or one of the amazing looking pastries. The decor made me really happy- although the chairs are not all that comfortable. The spot to grab is the couch or leather chairs. They turnover seams pretty quick although it seems like the couch along the wall is the remote work hangout. Overall really great find.

Hitesh N.

Yelp
Cool cafe with good free wifi. Plenty of seating place. We could see lot of people working on their laptops and lot hanging out with their friends. We ordered drip coffee, matcha latte and their Conductor panini. My drip coffee was ok, but matcha latte had a very strong taste. Didnt like it. Panini was ok too. Nothing special to rave about. Coffee refills are 50 cents. The servers were nice and courteous. It looked like a very busy evening on Saturday. I would go there again to hangout or do my work. But would stick to regular coffee.
google avatar

Yelp
Cutest ambiance! Loved the seasonal specials and family atmosphere that the shop brings in. From the couches to long family style table, thoroughly enjoyed the experience & the coffee!
google avatar

Yelp
Adorable coffee spot! Looking for beverage and light fare? Look no further! Great space, filled with greenery and open seating. There is a wide array of breakfast & brunch options. The Mediterranean tuna melt is served on pressed sourdough with capers, pickles, onions, and provolone. Iced Matcha and hot coffee hits the spot!
google avatar

Yelp
Great coffee and cold brew. The brioche croissant is incredible. Conveniently located next to the train station. Knocking it one star because they don't open until 8am every day.

Yelp
Green Engine opened up just one month after I started my first job out of college. Back then, Green Engine, with its friendly staff, Rival Bros. coffee, and pretty good pastries, felt young and bohemian, an oasis for college students and employees. Five years later, Green Engine has grown and blossomed. Now a clear neighborhood favorite drawing young families and old folk as well as their original collegiate clientele, Green Engine's whole operation feels slicker and more polished. The pastry selection has grown significantly and their new supplier is a wizard: everything, from the shiny brioche au chocolate to the visually stunning and pleasantly sweet cinnamon brioche, to my personal favorite, the pistachio financier, is excellent. The coffee remains delicious, and the seasonal drink selection features cute, punny names and often tastes quite good. The staff, though generally fairly friendly, isn't quite as quick to remember a regular's face as they used to be, but that comes with the much-deserved constant flow of people from morning to close. All in all one of my favorite coffee shops ever, and I always look forward to my next visit.
google avatar

Yelp
Lovely little coffee shop, fireplace (although I've never seen it on), children's book nook in the corner, breakfast items, pastries, a sculpture wall and a live wall. Oh, I didn't even mention the coffee. The guy with the dreads makes some of the best espresso I've had and I've lived in Italy 2 separate times. Their drip coffee is rich and flavorful. They have all the classics and for the more adventurous among us, they have some drinks like "espresso + tonic" or cranberry spritz which has cranberry, rosemary, espresso and ice along with seltzer. Interesting to say the least but I'll still to my double shot or drip. I've never been into cold brew but they do have it along with the slow drip method in glass. Their kitchen closes around midday I believe. Sip dark and sip local friends! Viva Green Engine!
google avatar

J L.

Yelp
Their coffee is so good... their selection of pastries are awesome as well. Perfect way to start the day.

Ben R.

Yelp
Go. Say hi to Jack. Best latte ever especially the lavender honey. Great #espresso tonics!!
google avatar

Kathryn M.

Yelp
Loved this place!!! Stopped on the way to the airport for a quick bite. All the pastries looked amazing. My ham and cheese absolutely melted in my mouth. My iced latte was also on point! Great vibes, could picture myself studying or doing work here. Would definitely return!

Maria T.

Yelp
Got coffee and avocado toast last week. Place was busy, but not obnoxious. Servers were nice, we decided to dine in for the full experience. We didn't know we had to get our coffee, since our food was being "served ". So by the time we figured it or, cappuccino was not as hot as I prefer it to be. The seating and table was crumbly dirty. Place needed to be cleaned up during the shifts. Otherwise the avocado toast was delicious .

Yelp
I can't believe it took my partner and I 3 years to discover this adorable cafe! We are always looking for a cute cafe to spend our time in during the weekend or towards the end of the week, and we are so excited to have found the Green Engine! Their toasts and breakfast sandwiches are on another level, their coffees are rich and tasty, and the atmosphere brings all together seamlessly. It's a place to hangout and catch up on the couch with friends, as well as a stylish workspace to get some work done towards the end of the week. Love love love, 5+++ stars!
google avatar

Katie O.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite coffee shops. The noise level is coffee shop appropriate, the staff is very friendly, and you can always find parking. Granted it a drive from my apt in Philly, it's worth it for the Giant shopping on the drive out here. The bagels here are delicious and the coffee is always hot and roasted perfectly. There is always plenty of places to study or read. During the school year it can be a bit more crowded due to the college right across the street, but seating is always available.
google avatar

Dan S.

Yelp
While parking is a little tricky and if you come post the morning rush on the weekend, the inside seating could be limited, it is a great place to grab a coffee/pastry/treat and take it to go, or hang out there. There are tons of seats and outlets so if you want, you could camp out and get some work done.
google avatar

Lexie M.

Yelp
Definitely busier than I anticipated as it was my first time there this week. Many options to sit which makes it a good place for meetings, catching up with friends, etc. I just ordered an iced coffee. I found the roast to be bitter tasting and none of the creamers were full so I didn't get to make the coffee to my liking. I also couldn't find straws or lids to put on my coffee either which was weird. I liked the environment so would definitely give it another shot but wasn't blown away
google avatar

Stephanie L.

Yelp
This is my new favorite coffee shop. Let me start by saying that parking is a little tricky. I live in the city, so obviously I have to drive to get here and I struggle to find parking that is free. Pro-tip to come on Sundays, so you don't have to pay the meter. There is ample seating, so you can post up and get work done. Every table also has it's own outlet!!! V important, I know. The aesthetic is bright and earthy. I love the charm - it is so darling. Not to mention, the coffee is to die for a very affordable prices! Highly recommend! I don't go anywhere else to do work anymore!!!
google avatar

Matt M.

Yelp
Literally the most amazing service ever and somehow even better coffee. Got the pumpkin honey iced latte and it was delicious. Chatting with the people behind the counter made my day!

Joey R.

Yelp
So superb! Love love love! Coffee is delicious, and food offerings are just as lovely. Very nice servers as well. Can't wait to return to this cute spot.
google avatar

Agnieszka S.

Yelp
Stopped in today for a Pumpkin Honey latte and was pleased with the service and overall atmosphere of this place. My latte looked beautiful, but tasted pretty weak; I guess I'll have to add an extra shot of espresso next time. I liked that there were alternative milk options, but I wish they had coconut milk as an option. I ended up trying oat milk and tasted a majority of the oat in my latte and none of the espresso or seasonal Pumpkin Honey flavoring. The pastries looked fresh and delicious and there was a wide variety of food options on the menu as well. I think I'll give this place another try when I need a midday pick me up or a coffee shop work atmosphere. There were plenty of outlets for charging too, so perfect for remote work.
google avatar

K C.

Yelp
Went this morning around 8 and there was already a line. People were settling in to do work love to see it. However no food no pastries at all and no explanation as to why. Not great to start a Monday with an empty belly. Especially with lots of competition just across the street. Do better green engine. Monday morning we need to be fed.

Yelp
I have heard nothing but amazing things about this place, but aside from a quick bagel and kombucha, I've never had the full pleasure of dining here. I totally intend on properly checking the place out sometime! However, holy crap, the guy with the reddish hair and glasses at the counter today was unspeakably rude. Literally straight up disrespectful, barking at the customers. He asked me if I knew what to order literally the moment I got in line and I told him to give me a moment, to which he promptly responded by asking the people behind me if they were ready (who literally arrived right after me) and legit getting pissed off when they weren't. I've never seen someone have THAT much of a problem from doing their job? Holy crap, maybe don't do customer service dude. We all have bad days, but nothing excuses that behavior. My friend told me when she ordered he took the card out of her hand when she wasn't sure how to use the chip reader for her card. I'm trying to be as empathetic as possible, but that dude was beyond uncool. I hope he didn't ruin it for anyone else. However, the other gentlemen that's at work prepping food and drinks were very focused and pleasant, and they were very busy and understandably under pressure. The young man who was preparing drinks was very sweet, and started my order for me as soon as I told him what I wanted (didn't feel like talking to angry glasses over there), and he apologized for the cashier's behavior and said "we're usually all much happier than that." No worries, dude. Not your fault. Such a shame terrible customer service had to ruin this one for me.

Yelp
I've been visiting Green Engine Coffee for about a year now and I am never disappointed when I go. This trendy and cozy space attracts students from local colleges, older adults, and families with young kids. Every time I've been I have been greeted by super friendly baristas. I am a bit partial to iced oat milk lattes because not every coffee shop offers oat milk yet, so when I have the opportunity I seize it! I've had friends who have ordered special summer iced teas, iced coffees, and iced americanos and they've all given them their stamp of approval. I've also enjoyed some of their pastries, including a scone that truly acted like a meal, I was so full after eating it! With a cozy atmosphere and a wide selection of coffee and pastries, Green Engine is my favorite coffee shop on the mainline by far.

Haley P.

Yelp
I ordered a 16oz latte and it ended up being barely flavored milk. There was only one espresso shot (for a large??) and it was beyond watery and tasteless. I added a star because the ambiance is very nice. Service was quick, but maybe that was part of the issue.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick Corrado. It was good a day nice laid back atmosphere. It would be a nice place to work from during the day.

Graysen P.

Yelp
Cute on the inside and a nice setting, but they are very slow with food and keep messing up my order.
