Google
Love the Wine Shoppe! Katie has been helpful in tracking down specialty wines I needed for Christmas. Her knowledge of wine is comprehensive and she shares any info you might need to know! They do carry the types of wine you buy at Kroger, but will often encourage me to try something besides the LaMarca prosecco I drink so faithfully. I don't get offended because you never know...I might find something I like better! My husband also joined their new wine club and picked up his first bottle recently. They select a bottle from a different country each month.

Hi there! My friend and I visited your shop about a month ago - we were visiting from Ottawa and I believe we spoke to Bob. He might remember me as the "talkative librarian". He recommended "Southern Gin" by the Franklin Distillery, and I was just curious how it would be best served? For example, in a gin and tonic would it go best with lemon, lime, or grapefruit? Based on what I read about the botanicals in this gin, I'm thinking perhaps green apple? I'm excited to open it but I don't want to waste a drop and I find gin can be really amplified when it is mixed with the best flavours (as any spirit is). Thank you very much, I had such a wonderful experience visiting your shop and Bob was so nice and helpful. Have a lovely day! --- Thank you so much Ed and Michael for the suggestions. If ever you visit Ottawa, we would love to get a drink with you ! ;) cheers ! I'll let you know how it goes with the southern gin :) and I'll be sure to visit your shop the next time I visit Nashville Thank you again ❤️ ---------------- Hi again Ed! I just wanted to let you know that we tried the gin in the ways Michael suggested and it was very tasty, we liked those combinations very much. But the funny thing is, I think what I personally liked the most was sipping it straight on ice. It is SO flavourful and so smooth all on it's own. Please tell Michael that it's a work of art. I've never had anything like it :) take care and all the best!

Ed is such a nice guy. This was a wonderful shopping experience. Great selection and knowledge. Thanks so much for the Spanish Malavazija recommendation. Just had the first couple of sips and it’s delicious!

This is the only place I buy wine now. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, they have helped me learn about wine and experience it like never before. I have a lot of gratitude for this spot, and I hope others have the same experience. So, whether you’re picking up a bottle for a dinner party, or wanting to learn more about wine, I highly recommend coming by!

Google
Has changed from "The Wine Shoppe" to this. Prices aren't great compared to Bud's and Corkdorks. Is now average liquor store

Google
very frustrating to not have hours listed correctly. won’t waste time again to visit. owners need to take job seriously.

They didn't have the bourbon I was looking for, but they were willing to order it for me. I had it in an iced glass within a couple of days.

Yelp
By far the friendliest and helpful staff been looking for a good Lambrusco for ages and they had an amazing selection

Yelp
I was visiting Nashville a few weeks ago and needed a few bottles of wine for a family dinner. When I lived in Nashville, I used to go out of my way to go to a certain wine shop that focused on natural wines. But I definitely wasn't up for a 25 minute drive each way to go to that wine shop on that day. I hadn't been to the Wine Shoppe before, but we were in the area and decided to check it out. I was so impressed! The selection was amazing: wines from varied wine producing regions (I was looking for a furmint wine from Eastern Europe and they had a couple of options) and lots of natural wines! The customer service was also amazing - the staff in the store when we stopped by was very helpful and walked us around showing us several options we might like. We ultimately bought a couple of bottles of a furmint from Hungary, a Slovenian wine, and a few other options. They were good. I would absolutely return to this wonderful surprise of a wine shop!

Yelp
Great location. Super kind & helpful owner. Very accommodating to our large group. Even opened a little early since we were sitting outside waiting. Nice patio area in a cute location.

Yelp
Looking for a serious wine-buying experience without the intimidation and snobbery (sometimes) associated with the endeavor? Head on over to Green Hills (I know!) and check out The Wine Shoppe. This is the wine store for oenophiles and novices alike. As soon as you walk in, you're greeted. I know some may not care for this but I like it. It lets me know that I, as a customer, am appreciated, recognized and seen. For a store this small and in this industry, I think to do any less is to give an immediate negative impression. So, kudos to TWS for knowing how to get a party started right. And, they keep it going by knowing about wine.* There are no guesses. There are no 'ums.' Tell the fellows what you like and what you think you're looking for and they'll guide you to exactly the wine that's right for you. I described a pinot grigio that I needed with a bunch of qualifiers and i was led to a bottle I'd never heard of but hit the nail on the head in every regard in which I was looking. It was magic. They might be magicians. The only negative about the store is that the price point is marked up a wee bit higher than I would like. I spied a South African (sweet) shiraz I tend to buy on occasion and it was higher than I've bought it for in both Chicago and Miami. But, this is Green Hills (I know!) so I can't say that I'm too shocked at higher prices. Nevertheless, if you're in to wine or just trying things out for the first time, TWS should be in your permanent rotation. *They also boast a small (small!) selection of craft beer as well as a few racks of spirits. But don't come here in search of either; leave that to another business or be pleased with what you find. When you come here, stick to wine.

Yelp
Top of the class wine shop! The Wine Shoppe at Green Hills is a gem. I would recommend this place to everyone. The selection is fantastic, and the staff is really the best. They know every bottle in that shop, and seem too have a little too much information to not be complete winos... I joke, but the staff really knows their stuff. They will guide you to the exact bottle of wine you want in the price range you want. The shoppe carries cheap and very very expensive bottles of every wine and liquor. They have very descriptive labels of the wine's flavor, points, awards, and reviews. I always go in to pick up one bottle of something and end up buying an armful to restock my cabinet. They once directed me to a fantastic bottle of Shiraz. I was a little turned off at first because, God forbid, the bottle of wine had a screw cap instead of a cork! But, I went with their suggestion, and now it is one of my favorite Shiraz's, and it is cheap... ok, ok, I will tell you which wine it is, but you have to promise not to buy it out! The 'Jip Jip Rocks' Shiraz! It is one of the many great finds at the Wine Shoppe at Green Hills. Just take a few minutes to stop by the Wine Shoppe and get started talking with Josh, the wine guy. You won't be disappointed. He has a fantastic way of finding something you'll love.

Yelp
What a great wine store!! They had a great variety and some bottles that I've never seen before! I really liked browsing through this cute but high end wine shop. And I've seen pretty much all the bubbly most places have to offer, but this one had some bottles that were brand new to me. Awesome. Only down side, I was the only one in the store and they were quick to ask if I needed help multiple times (just wanting to look on my own for now guys!) but it was still enjoyable and I'd come back!

Yelp
I can't imagine going to another wine shop than Green Hills Wine Shoppe. It's all you need. They have a great selection of red, white, champagne, and even beers. You can find good wines already chilled for that last minute stop in. Everyone in there is friendly and happy to help. Have a look at their displays. They make great suggestions for red and white wine at reasonable prices. Almost all of the wines on the menu at Rumours can be purchased here. So you know they are good. In fact, when I couldn't remember the name and asked for "that new pinot noir that Rumours is carrying, green label" the guy helping me knew exactly what I meant and lead me right to it. Check it out. Walk around and explore. Try out some staff suggestions. You'll be back. And soon!

Yelp
Just wonderful. Coming in as a 21 year old woman and knowing little about wine, I felt very intimidated by the task of finding a good quality red wine to go with the Italian dinner I was cooking the following evening, but my fears were unfounded. As soon as I walked in the entrance I was greeted by two pleasant, distinguished gentlemen who asked me if I needed assistance. After telling one what I was looking for (A full bodied, fruity red) he led me over to the racks and told me about the growing regions and flavor profiles of 4 different selections, from which I chose Calista. Since I did not own a wine opener, he also opened the bottle for me! What a nice touch. I'm thoroughly pleased ( actually just sitting here with a glass right now as I write this review). Dinner went off without a hitch, my guests complimented the wine selection, and I will be back!

Yelp
I am a picky consumer. Period. I hate large chain stores and I truly thrive on personal service when I am in unfamiliar territory. Wine is one of those territories. Sure, I am a major booze hound and have two fully-stocked bars with a myriad of exotic ingredients and tinctures for my passion, crafting cocktails. But when it comes to wine, while I do enjoy it, I really start to panic when it comes to picking a good bottle out and generally stick to what I know. Here's where the Wine Shoppe comes in. They have a compact, but deep selection. You really get the sense that there is no bottle on these shelves that was not placed there without a great deal of thought. And that holds true at all price points. I went in looking for a nice bottle of wine for a special occasion and was immediately greeted by the two shopkeepers. One of them, Saul, was immediately by my side and attentive to my questions when I asked for help. I told him what we liked and he made a range of suggestions at varying price points. He also was full of knowledge regarding the wineries and growing regions, clearly passionate about the product. The pricing was very reasonable, especially compared to some of the other liquor stores in Green Hills. They have a reasonable selection of spirits with some items that I haven't seen at some of the other stores around town. In all of the other Green Hills stores, you generally see one or two employees in a big location or trapped by a high-maintenance socialite - this was not the case here. Everyone was greeted and assisted promptly (I had to take a work phone call so I was casually observing the flow of business). Last but not least, they have a big cooler with a good selection of chilled wines which god knows during this summer is a necessity. So, bottom line, this place is a class act and even though it is across the street from the Green Hills Mall, I didn't feel like I was out of place.

Yelp
I am not a wine sommelier. I have absolutely no idea how to choose a bottle of wine in a wine/liquor store, and can spend hours inside of the store because I have no idea what I should pick. I live by the school of thought: "Has an artsy label, must be good". Additionally, I can also live by the thought: "Has a kitschy name, must be good". Needless to say, when you shop for wine like me, you can get burned every now and then. That's what makes the Wine Shoppe in Green Hills so great. Sure, they have some super schnazzy stuff for the Belle Meade crowd to proudly display in their million dollar abodes, but they've also got stuff for Regular Joe me. And the staff is crazy knowledgeable. Last night, I walked in and simply said: I need a good Malbec, but I'm not rich. The guy's simple response: "Splendid. Fabulous. Follow me." Walks straight to a bottle picks up and hands it to me. Asked to describe the taste, there was no need for him to read the label or read bottle/shelf talker. No, he dove straight in to "lovely tinge of chocolate, hint of cherry..." and he pretty much had already sold me so I stopped paying attention (yeah, he was just that good that I was already imagining drinking the bottle while he talked on). Top notch joint. Loses a star for that ridiculously small parking lot that it shares with the nutso Domino's Pizza drivers (two of which almost hit my parked car) and a Blockbuster (so crazy soccer moms driving vehicles larger than mankind was ever meant to operate).

Yelp
AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE! Bob was fantastic to work with. He went the extra effort to take care of my needs. I had looked all over the country for a specific whiskey glass and The Wine Shoppe had them. I live in Wyoming and Bob was able to send them to me in time for a wedding we were hosting! Thanks Bob Scott The College Inn Bar Douglas Wyoming

Yelp
Finding a good wine shop is like finding a good hair stylist. Sure there might be someone closer or cheaper, but why risk a disaster? I am not a wine expert. BUT, I know what I like. STILL, I need help. And the guys at The Wine Shoppe at Green Hills is ready and at your service. Tell them your price - and I promise they don't care - and tell them what you like - red, white, full body, fruity - and they'll give you several selections to choose from. PLUS, they print out a receipt so you can keep it handy and jot down which wine you preferred. And just because it's in Green Hills, doesn't mean you're going to pay more. In fact, you'll probably save money because the guys who buy are smart little shoppers.

Yelp
I am willing to brave the Greenhills traffic to visit this wine shop which is saying a lot. I have used them for years and love that they have wines in every price point. I wish that they had more descriptions but they are always well staffed and more than willing to give you sage advice. I think that I have developed enough of a palate over the years to want something more interesting then the standard varietals from mass produced vintners. I feel like Ed and his staff have done a lot to to bring some unique offerings to those of us in Nashville who have champagne taste on a beer budget and taken all the snobbery out of it so that anyone who would like to learn a little more about wine can from these guys. If you go in, sign up for their Email list. They won't hassle you but they do have a lot of sales and they will Email you with special offerings. I have gotten some amazing wine at unbelievable prices that way. They will also give you some discount for buying by the case.

Yelp
This is pretty much what you would expect when you think "Green Hills" and "wine shop." They offer a great selection of quality wines at affordable prices. Of course, there are plenty of much spendier selections for that special occasion. I recommend this wine store, along with a few others, to people who want a good selection of wine, and a staff that is knowledgeable to help with recommendations.
google avatar

Robin S.

Yelp
In a hurry and need wine but have no idea what to get? You have to stop in the Wine Shoppe. I mention "in a hurry" because I always seem to be running late for an occasion where I promised to bring a bottle of wine. I know that the second I walk (or run) in here, I'll leave with the best bottle I can get! The guys are super nice, ultra knowledgeable, and are never snobby if you ask for something under $10 (yes I've done it before!). In fact, they carry great wines for under $10. They also carry great wines for over $100! So see? Any kind of spender is welcome here! Check it out if you are in the Green Hills area and are in need, or want, of some fabulous vino.

Yelp
I'm a huge supporter of local business and this place does not disappoint. The staff at the Wine Shoppe are HUGE helpers. I'm not very knowledgeable about wine (yet! ha!) and they are always happy to offer their recommendations and reasons why. Josh has been with the store almost since the beginning and man does the guy know his stuff! He LOVES wine and loves to talk about. Be warned if he helps you, you'll be there a while. :) There is no in-and-out, unless you know exactly what you're going in for! Tristan is the owner and he and his friend Dan are always happy to do anything to help. They offer a great little service to wrap any bottles you purchase as gifts and they are great at remembering names and faces (and, in my case, remembering my favorite wines!). The selections are wide and I've never been disappointed with their recommendations. Nutshell: Great place to go, always available parking, great staff and LOTS to choose from!

Yelp
The first thing I noticed about this store on walking in was the smell. The two guys working there had an amazing smelling candle burning and it really made a difference to my shopping experience. It made the place seem inviting and cozy. I was also struck by the lighting - most wine stores around here are stark, fluorescent lit affairs, and this place had more of the ambiance fitting for a romantic bottle of wine - you can get in the mood even before you go home and drink it. I was impressed by their cold wine section, which although not big, was well picked. There was a good variety of price as well as type. I easily found a refreshing, moderately priced Spanish wine without looking very hard. The two guys working were hilarious too, and seemed like they were having a good time working there, which always warms me to a place.
google avatar

Erin D.

Yelp
I really like this place. Every time I've gone in the staff has been really helpful, without smothering you. They are good at suggestion wines based on your tastes too. And they always have some sort of special going on. Last time I was there I bought six bottles and they gave me this cute reusable tote bag to carry them in. the only downside is that this parking lot can get really rowdy. It's tight and ppl wth big cars usually make life difficult.
google avatar

Kristina L.

Yelp
I adore this shoppe. Love, love, love! There is always something new that I simply must try and I usually wind up spending WAY too much money because the selection is extraordinary. I have learned so very much coming in here and the very knowledgeable staff makes recommendations based on what I like. Even better, you can order a bottle or two of things that you want as well. I discovered a divine dessert wine called Alcyone while dining at Etch and was able to order a couple of bottles from here. At the stores near my 'hood, I would have had to order an entire case. When you have a wine need, this is the place to go to have your expectations exceeded.

Yelp
very knowledgeable chap that looked like a cross between a lost sailor and a roadie rocker from the 70's led me to some amazing wines i had never tasted on the west coast that led me to buy more on my trip. what is v raving about: 2012 alexandria nicole pinot gris 2012 lone birch pinot gris

Yelp
Great shop with great selection and brilliant staff. Tell them you have $8 to spend and they'll find you something great. They've also ordered cases of my favorites for me at good prices. Wonderful place.

Yelp
Staff was friendly and helpful. Massive wine selection for the size of the store and some beer and liquor. Prices were reasonable.
google avatar

Yelp
The small family style experience is hands down what I enjoyed. I do not like the large chain stores. The knowledge and customer service is what will bring me back.
google avatar

Sara S.

Yelp
Best wine shop in town BAR NONE! I love how helpful they are, and their advice is normally spot on. Always a friendly face, and full of knowledge. AND they scrape the price tag off of your wine when you buy it. I love it! No one needs to know that I only spent $12.99 on that bottle! It's delicious! I hate it when I have to go to another wine shop because this one feels like home. Of course, if it was home I'd be a drunken mess, but you catch my drift. Love love love them.

Yelp
Shoutout to the sweet man with the pony tail and beret hat (yes, if you go you'll know what I'm talking about). Not a huge wine selection, but great shop and they are more than willing to help you choose the right bottle of vino.
google avatar

Morgan P.

Yelp
This is a WINE store. They sell wine and liquor and high-proof beer on the side. If you need a nice bottle for dinner I would definitely stop here, if you're looking for grapefruit, cherry vodka you might want to go somewhere else. My fiancé is a big wine enthusiast and this is one of his favorite stores in Nashville. At other stores he rarely asks for advice but he walks into this establishment looking for a recommendation. The man with the beret is top notch. If he's working ask him for help. Last time we were there my fiancé explained the taste he was looking for and the bottle they sold us fit his description exactly.
google avatar

Tori M.

Yelp
By far my favorite place to drop in and grab a bottle of wine. The employees are extremely nice and always willing to help, and the selection is great without being overwhelming.
google avatar

Mariela C.

Yelp
Wine Shoppe at Green Hills is a small wine store with a great selection for its size. I used to head there because my best friend lived around the corner and there is something said for convenience, however, its also a great place to go if you are wanting to be greeted by extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff. My only complaint about the Wine Shoppe at Green Hills is that it closes too early, so for those jonesing for late night wine, you will have to head somewhere else.
google avatar

Jenn C.

Yelp
This is the best place in Nashville to go for expert guidance on wine. And, because it's summer - we should talk about their selection of rosé: it's massive and great quality! Super light and dry from Provence to bigger and fruitier from the States as well as great budget ranges to meet your weeknight rosé vs dinner party rosé needs. Dan is especially friendly and helpful in making recommendations. The Wine Shoppe is our go-to for good wine in Nashville.
google avatar

Joe M.

Yelp
I can sum this place up for you in a name "Josh." i have been coming to Josh to buy wine and spirits for years, and he is at the top of his game. Most of the time, I walk into the store having a pretty good idea of what I would like to buy, and Josh takes me by the hand, figuratively, and guides me to a couple of bottles that would suit my mood even better. They have some high end wines, like '98 Champagnes, and some 05 Bordeaux, but their bread and butter is the 20-40 dollar bottles that make you look like a superstar at your next dinner party/wine groupie gathering. My only wish is that they would have some variety in their whites. I want Ruedas, Albarinos, and maybe some sexier Txomin Etraniz from the Basque. On the whole you are going to be hard pressed to find a better wine store in Green Hills. Josh and the rest of his staff at The Wine Shoppe are doing a great job with a great selection and I will be coming back every week as I have for years.
google avatar

Jenn T.

Yelp
Love this place! Really, really great selection and the staff is extremely helpful in finding you a good wine- in your price range- to pair with dinner. Every selection they've ever made I've loved!

Yelp
Let me preface by saying I'm a sales manager myself. I went in asking for a specific whiskey that I would like to try, Jack Daniel's new fire whiskey. The salesman immediately said they didn't carry it, because it was substandard for the store, and he personally didn't like it. Not a good way to start the conversation, insulting the client. He recommended something else, and told me it was his favorite. I said no thanks and then he proceeded to tell me if I wanted substandard alcohol just buy Fireball. I said no thanks, and then he tried to sell me Pappy Van winkle, out of left field! Haha. I am a whiskey and bourbon lover, have a great collection of spirits. I from TN, and love Jack Daniel's, and just wanted to try their new blend of whiskey, JD Fire. Thanks to the arrogant and immature staff, I will not be shopping at this store any longer.

Frank J.

Yelp
I purchased a whiskey "Tennessee Black and Tan" was told it resembled certain scotch. Very bad suggestion because it tastes like medicine and nothing like peaty scotch. Very unfortunate suggestion.

M W.

Yelp
This is the best wine/liquor store I've ever been to. The staff is so knowledgeable and helpful! I would definitely recommend the Wine Shoppe!

Jeremy D.

Yelp
I recently contacted the shop and spoke with Sam Bales regarding a wine tasting. She went above and beyond to bring us some of the finest wines we have ever enjoyed. She was the highlight of our trip to Nashville!

Misty P.

Yelp
This wine shop is definitely a 5 start wine shop. I walked in and immediately got help, when I asked for a specific wine they led me right to a few options. I wanted something for my husband and I explained what he liked and they led me to some great options I also like the fact that if you let them know your budget on your bottle they can give you pros and cons of each one in your budget! I loved their help!
