This is hands-down the best plant shop in town! They do amazing work with succulents and all types of rare bouquets of flowers. I would recommend them for any project that you need a five star perfect product for. Luke and the team are amazing and a true gem of Old Town. First photo is a new succulent just picked up. Second is one I built with them over 8 years. They even wrote up these helpful direction for my unique pot ❤️. They are always amazing!!! Thank you!!

I was visiting Chicago here on holiday from out of town (Australia) and needed flowers for Valentines Day and came across Green Inc from Google search, so glad I did. The staff were very friendly knowledgeable and even though they were crazy busy they catered for what I wanted and even advised due the harsh cold conditions that I couldn't walk with the flowers a few blocks from the location to my apartment and advised I get a lift or this would damage the flowers. I called in to inquire about a Mother’s Day bouquet, and the young lady over the phone was very helpful in answering all of my questions. She even called me back, unprompted, to confirm an answer she had given to me. I decided to go into the shop ahead of time to take a look at the flowers and get an idea of the type of bouquet I’d like. I was able to then call them that day to place the order for a Thursday pickup a couple days ahead of Mother’s Day to make sure I’d get the bouquet I wanted and to avoid the rush. The young man that helped me I think his name was Jack started with a J was SO helpful. He listened to my color, flower, and budget (~$80) preference, and so when I came to pick up the bouquet it was exactly as how I wanted it. It actually even exceeded my expectations with the flower selections. My mom LOVED it, and I will be returning for my flower needs. I do want to note there was an older man when I went to pickup the bouquet that was quite short/unpleasant. My only recommendation is to have him be more pleasant so people aren’t turned off by coming to this shop.

Best flower shop in the city! They always creat the most beautiful arrangements with high quality flowers. There is a reason they have been around for over 50 years, they never disappoint!

I live in California and send flowers to my mother in Chicago. Green sends the highest quality flowers. They did a same day delivery. Amazing customer service. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking to send high quality flowers.

I love love them . I had gotten peonies from them two years ago after jogging in the ice and snow as a treat for myself for completing 5 miles! They have the most gorgeous array of flowers!!and they are so fresh and beautiful that you don't need any flower food at all! They also last up to 2 weeks! The price can be a hit or miss but it's worth it if something is gonna be that wonderful! Every time I step inside this place I feel like I've been instantly transported to the flower shops in Paris or nice! B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L

We had a 95th birthday party and Green did a fabulous job! We had so many compliments on the floral arrangements. Also they were by far the most reasonable cost wise saving me thousands! I will always use them and would advise anyone planning a wedding or big party to consider them!

Ordered a dozen roses each for my daughter and new granddaughter when they came home from the hospital. The folks on the phone were nice and helpful, the price reasonable ( for these days) and the roses arrived when they said they would. My disappointment was that they lasted less than a week and one of my daughter's was broken.

Lovely plants, lovely people. Definitely extremely crowded, like others have said, but that's part of the charm. Feels kinda fairytale-esque. Fair prices for unique and beautiful plants and flowers. Staff are very helpful and interesting to chat with.

Main older sales associated unwarrantedly yelled at a woman in front of me when picking up flowers a bit back. I tried to look past it as an occasional customer issue, but today I called with a question only to be insulted by the same person in the same fashion. I will be spending my money elsewhere, and I highly advise you do too. Any issues with your order will be met with unprofessionalism and toddler like tantrums. Best thing for this business would be to let this person go and find someone who is better with people.

This store is beautiful chaos and every time my boyfriend and I go we always find a new little treasure to add to our eclectic apartment. This store has been around since the 70s and altho it's not very organized there's something very charming and refreshing about it and I consider it to be my favorite plant store in the city. Everyone that works there has answers to all your questions so just be patient if they're busy and enjoy looking around until they can get to you!

There are three local flower shops down wells street! This is an absolute gem in Lincoln park!! I stopped by post gym and wanted to take a stroll down the new neighborhood and landed here. Right away the owner, Lou greeted me. The amount of variety of flowers and succulents and plants was very pleasing for the eyes! He helped me pick out a succulent and a house plant! I told him I wanted something for the apartment and he let me browse around without being overbearing. I also let him know that this will be my first plants I'll be taking care of - so I wanted low maintenance plants! Once I found the two he educated me on how to take care of them as well! He really took the time to make sure the plants would be successful in my apartment based on which way my living room windows faced and the amount of lighting the particular spot the plants would be in. Can't wait to head back and grab some flowers for my living room!!

They did an excellent job with Birthday flowers I ordered. Bright, vibrant colors and the fragrance fills the apartment. Plus they were very nice and helpful.

Received a couple arrangements from here, and the flowers' scent is so wonderfully strong. I don't think I've ever had flowers with such a nice, lingering scent that leaves fragrance on the entire first floor. I am not a lover of flowers, but I did appreciate these arrangements from the local shop, Green. From what I was told, the staff at the shop were of significant help with the selection of flowers and the arrangement styles.

I've been here a couple of times now, and it's become my favorite. The selection is always fresh and a huge variety. Luke the owner is very kind and knowledgeable and can answer any questions you have. The packaging to take the plants home is nice as well. They also have a great selection of pots! I really enjoy this plant store and usually find a reason to stop in.

Green is a beautiful flower shop in between Lincoln Park and old town. They have a variety of plants, flowers and succulents. My best friend just got cherry blossoms from here and they look beautiful! The owner of the store is welcoming, kind and gives great recommendations to ensure your plants last as long as possible.

Easily the best flower shop on Near North Side. Probably the entire city. I've purchased arrangements from them 20+ times and have yet to hear any feedback from a recipient other than "WHERE DID YOU GET THESE?? THEY'RE STUNNING!!!" Is it expensive? Yes. But here's the thing, most everything in life of quality costs money, and usually a fair amount of it. And yet, the bang for your buck is still off the charts. Could the space itself be a bit more minimally designed? Probably. But these are people who lit'rally love flowers and plants so much that any empty space in the shop would be a waste. Not to mention all the plants in the shop are thriving, always a good sign to look for at shops like this. But I digress. Basically, if you want a stunning arrangement for your wife (or husband, it's 2019) or your parents or someone you're trying to sweep off their feet, this is the place. If you just want to get a cheap bouquet with some orange and blue flowers for the gesture, there's a Walgreens right down the street with v competitive pricing

This plant shop is awesome. The beautifully displayed windows is what drew me inside, but the warm and friendly demeanor of the staff is what made me bring a new plant friend home. They'll take their time to explain what plants work best for the amount of sunlight you have in your household and how much time you have to dedicate to care. I'll be back again as I turn my apartment into a house plant haven for sure.

Just visited Green for the first time and had an awesome experience. The fragrance when you walk in is amazing, colorful tulips and flowers everywhere. Adorable pots and macrame to hold your plants. Beautiful trees. We bought a ficus and Luke wrapped it up with such care, gave us great advice for daily care. He's super knowledgeable - you can tell he's passionate about all his plants. Will definitely be making this my go to for plant purchases

Great local florists. Gave them the exact amount I wanted to spend and occasion and was able to pick it up the next day and they were gorgeous!

Welcome to hoarders... flowers edition. So I walked into the store and an older lady greeted me. & then I took it in. All. Of. It. This place is overwhelmingly stuffed with narrow pathways. I get that space is a premium in the city, but you could sweep once a decade. The floor is covered in cuttings & it just gets deeper as you get closer to the counter. It is disguised by being completely covered & surrounded. While yes I did get the plant I was looking for. There are no prices and the lady seemed a lil annoyed I dared to inquire about pricing. Well maybe the rich & yet broke in the neighborhood don't ask for prices - I do. I told her I was happy that she had the plant I wanted in stock as I was getting if for a hard to buy for friend. She made some weird comment about how every plant is great for the environment. Seeing as she was a bit rude I decided to "tweak" her nose a bit. She asked me rather condescendingly if I knew how to care for the plant. I told her I waited to water the one I had till it drooped... I'm rather surprised her eye didn't start twitching as she pursed her lips. She then proceeded to take me to school. I messed with her some more as sometimes the devil on my shoulder wins. I won't be back as I don't spend $ on people who are rude. But as this was a rush purchase I didn't have time to shop around.

Walking in here is like being transported. The plants are gorgeous! And they were so helpful. I went in to buy a gift and I can't wait to go back and get something for my own home. Also I saw the arrangements they were working on - fantastic. Again, can't wait to shop at this local gem again!!

My mom is in Boston and came across green when she was exploring my neighborhood. She got an arrangement made up with Luke and is now hooked! She frequently sends flowers to me and will only call Green. I had these delivered after 2 hours of her ordering them yesterday. And my goodness they are the most stunning flowers! Everyone in my office has asked for the name of the florist as they are the prettiest we have ever had delivered. The arrangement is put together so pretty, they smell fresh and look out of this world. Highly recommend.

This review is long overdue. Luke always has the most fresh, exotic flowers and PLENTY of them. For a housewarming gift, I bought a friend a vase. I took the vase to Luke and he went above and beyond to pick the perfect flowers, wrap the ugly cardboard box, and brought everything to my car to make sure everything was secure. He is THE BEST florist in town. I'm so grateful to be a customer!!!

Amazing service and product here - can't recommend Luke and his team enough. Luke and his team took their time to work with me on a few bouquets for a surprise engagement and were super helpful on the timing/delivery/set up.

The passion they have for flowers and plants will sell you on them immediately. Been a customer for years - always great. We recently gave them a plant we couldn't use anymore due to lack of sunlight and Luke thanked us profusely for not throwing it away. Such a cool place.

This is the place to go if you want an orchid plant that will thrive and keep blooming and blooming. Luke is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Going to Green was a very pleasant and educational experience. I purchased an orchid here last spring (~$65) and it is still just as beautiful looking as when I first bought it! It went out of bloom briefly a few months ago, but only for a week or two before budding again. It has grown several new leaves and the roots are very healthy looking. I have purchased orchid plants from Home Depot twice in the past and both plants died 2-3 months later. These plants are definitely worth the extra bit of money. My plant has been surprisingly easy to take care of. I water it when the potting media starts to dry, which has consistently been only about once a week (maybe every 5 days in the winter). I like to water the plant by placing pot in a shallow bowl of water for 15 min, letting the water get absorbed through the holes in the bottom of the pot into the potting mix. This way I don't get water on the leaves. I have not fertilized it yet but I probably will soon. I couldn't be more pleased. I will be back to buy another orchid and also for advice on repotting my current plant.

Green simply has the best quality and the most unique floral selection in the city. You pay a premium but the quality is unmatched. Every stem I have purchased here last days (sometimes WEEKS) longer than flowers from other shops. Employees (and the owner!) are friendly and knowledgeable. They let you take your time and look around, but make sure to let you know that they can assist if needed. I always enjoy a quiet moment browsing for my flowers and listening NPR which is always on in the background.

One word for Green= magical. This place is beautiful and Luke was very informative when my husband and I went in to look at flowers and pots. They actually have decorations from all over the world and it took the both us back to travels we have done in the past. The flowers are exotic and the staff is very friendly. Green has flowers and plants practically bursting out the front door! Love it.

Tried to come here today at 6 pm, checked online and the hours say 7pm closing. Arrived at the storefront and all doors were locked and store had no lights on???

A personal favorite and one of Chicago's most beautiful stores! Phenomenal array of flowers, plants and international crafts. Luke is a master horticulturalist and a font of knowledge and wit.

I came in on the day of a birthday event in desperate need of some floral arrangements for centerpieces for the dinner table. Green was able to help me design some absolutely beautiful arrangements and turn them around in less than three hours. They were incredibly accommodating and the quality of their work speaks for itself. I'll definitely be going back for future floral needs!

I was referred to Green by my favorite florist in St. Louis. I wanted to send a bouquet to my daughter to congratulate her on her promotion. I called around 2:00 and Luke was extremely helpful! By 6:00 the most beautiful arrangement arrived by taxi to surprise my daughter ! Thank you Green! You are my favorite florist in a Chicago !

This shop is pretty awesome and the owner is very knowledgeable. I have bought a plant, a planter, and a few different bouquets for mothers day. To the previous customer who complained about price, I think thats somewhat true. However, on several occasions I've gone in I was upfront about price and they were flexible and accommodating. Also quality is super high. The store is a bit cluttered but I say that is part of their charm. Enjoy. :)

I was on a mission to get a beautiful white orchid as a symbol of starting a fresh new year. WOW. This shop has the biggest assortment of flowers I've seen in Chicago!! They're all so healthy and beautiful!! And I got tips and answers to questions about caring for my new plant too. Enjoy the beautiful photos I took!

The rating I gave Green is based on quality, not quantity (of dollars). If prices were low then I would have given it a six. :) The prices are higher than Home Depot's, but let's face it, Home Depot is doing for home improvement what Walmart did for overweight, middle America. That said, I love this place. I purchased an orchid for a friend's birthday here and not only did it last FOREVER, it also made the Home Depot variety orchids hide their blooms in shame. Even if you're not going to buy; stop in. The customer service (with only two people on staff every time I've been there) is ideal and the knowledge base they offer could even be gained and taken elsewhere; although I urge you to purchase from Green. I leave the store with a plant and satisfaction... every time.

What a great find! My dad has lived next door to this place for a couple years now and I always pass by it when I'm visiting, completely intrigued by the window display. I decided to finally go in to get by boyfriend a cactus for his birthday. Walking in is like going through a jungle. There's flowers and plants everywhere! And the flowers are huge but so beautiful. The guy in charge is really nice and knows his plants. I told him I was looking for a cactus and he showed them to me and explained a couple, and even offered to pull some out for me to look at closer. I finally decided on this really crazy, tall one for $24.95. The prices are decent. The smaller cacti were $8, which is close to what you might get at the Home Depot or somewhere, but here there is a more interesting selection and you get expert advice. The store owner wrapped it nicely in plastic and wrote care instructions on a card. My boyfriend really loved it when I gave it to him because it's so interesting and different. This is a great, unique store and I'll be back for my next flower/plant purchase. I'm just sorry it took me so long to finally go in!

I absolutely love this place. Old school, artisinal values ideas about quality, freshness, and customer service that is absolutely. Unparalleled aesthetics. They don't go for mass market ... what they have in stock is carefully curated for beauty and interest.

Called them based on other reviews for my wife's birthday flowers. She was always interested in the store when walking around old town. I described the flowers she liked and the price range and requested a morning delivery. Didnt know what to expect but have become somewhat used keeping expectations low when calling in or placing an order for flowers online. My wife was overjoyed with the flowers on her birthday. they were amazing and delivered promptly on time. thanks Green! will be back for more!

This is just a wonderful flower shop. Expensive? Yes. But the quality of the plants is without question. The owner spent a good 30 mins with us going through what might be the best option or our apartment based on things we never even thought of. 4 weeks later the plant looks as healthy as the day we bought it and I'm sure it will provide joy for years to come. Will be going back again for all flowery needs.

What a great find. Called late on a Sunday to pick up some flowers. They answered the phone and indicated they were already closed, but then asked what I needed. Bottom line, they stayed open for me and put together the most wonderful display of roses. Places like this are getting harder to find. Support them.

Best florist in Chicago. Walking in the shop is sensory overload. Floor to ceiling packed with flowers, flowering plants, one-of-a-kind vases and containers and stools and props and over flowing working tables...you would not be surprised to see an exotic animal walk out of the jungle-like back room. What comes out are luscious arrangements.

I often think back to my first experience entering into the door of green as a girl in the prime of my youth in love with flowers well this is anywhere from a professional to a hippy flower powers place to buy . The store is filled with treasures.

Easily the best florist in the city. Hands down. Green is going to be a little more expensive, but the sheer talent makes it worth it. We regularly order all of our flowers from Green, and each creation is unique and delightful. Seriously. If you want creative floral arrangements that will actually blow your mind, this is the place to go.

We had a great experience at Green yesterday. We were looking for some flowers and possibly a large plant for our apartment. Inside Luke showed us round the shop and gave us some guidance on which plant would work best in our apartment. The shop itself is a bit of a treasure trove of all things horticultural. Absolutely packed with stuff. Luke's knowledge was encyclopedic and we found the whole experience very entertaining. We ended up only buying a bunch of flowers which were beautiful but we will be back for more. He also went above and beyond as we are new to the city to suggest a few places we should try out. Overall such a great experience.

Wow! What an awesome florist. Luke was very helpful and courteous. He educated me on what would work best in my home given my level of sunlight. He didn't attempt to oversell me; I came in wanting to purchase a large orchid but Luke suggested otherwise. Furthermore, he treated me as though I was spending a million bucks, giving me his undivided attention, even though others were in the store and it was getting crowded. Very rare to find this level of customer service these days. Definitely pop in and enjoy the flowers and service.

This is such an odd place. The flowers and plants seem to be high quality, but the shop itself is a claustrophobe's nightmare, so cluttered with looming floor plants and buckets of flowers that only a narrow aisle is left in which to conduct business. None of the plants or buckets are price labeled, which gives the impression they may be subject to change, depending on the customer or the whim of the proprietor. That said, the flowers I bought were beautiful and the staff who waited on me seemed to be knowledgeable about flower care. I just think they need to do some deep cleaning.

I LOVE YOU GREEN!!!! Your store is gorgeous, your plants are gorgeous, your staff is amazing, etc etc etc. I'm soooooo happy to see so many amazing reviews of GREEN on here! I've recommended this place I-don't-know-how-many times to friends over the past 5 or 6 years, whether they're in need of plants and flowers or just solid plant knowledge. I make special trips there in the summertime when they have racks of plants and flowers outside, even though it's miles from where I live (it's right in Old Town near some great restaurants too). The deal on this place is this: the selection is broad for the store's square-footage, the quality of the plants is amazing because everything is super well-cared-for (the staff is a mother/son team for whom plants are a passion), and even though the store has had other customers in it every single time I've been, I've always left feeling like I got special treatment. The son (Luke) seems to be there perpetually, always working (moving plants, watering plants, working the register, helping people)... and yet always has time to answer questions- he once helped me nurse a dying orchid (which I did not purchase there - got it before I knew about the place) back to life from a state of almost-completely-perished, and even took a minute to shoot the breeze with me about organic food. :) So: you can go to a big box or even other storefront store, but this is the only place where I can pretty much guarantee that you'll 1) get a plant that's actually living (and not fed steroids just to make it look healthy) 2) deal with a person who is actually living (and not fed mcdonalds in a dimly lit break room in the back somewhere) who is interested in your questions, knowledgeable about the answers, creative enough to create a beautiful environment to shop in, and helpful enough to effectively assist you with trouble-shooting any problems you're having keeping your own plants... green.

Go!!! Amazing floral boutique space.... They Perfectly executed arrangements by owners Anara and her son Luke, for my sons Wedding Rehearsal Dinner! Hip and Modern yet lush, stunning...They created designs exactly as I had envisioned ... Gorgeous long rectangular vases filled with Fushcia and Lavender Vanda Orchids, modern green trick and ice green hydrangea running down long table of 58 feet....was Fabulous! Just got back home to LA after fabulous wedding in Chicago..Wish they had a boutique here!
