Neat jazz club lounge / bar! The musicians were good, the environment was dim and relaxed, but also lively. The drinks were good, and so was a strawberry cheesecake that we got. And service was attentive. Highly recommended!

If you love Jazz music this is definitely the place for you! $5 bucks per person to get in. Tons of seats available depending on your mood get cozy on a couch or sit back in a chair. Eat the cheesecake you won't be disappointed! Tried the pink lady it was very sour couldn't get it all down. My friend loved the mules tho! Love that they stay open until 1am! Fun place to visit on a date or with your friends. The music will soothe your soul! The musicians are amazing!

Neat little jazz place. Doesn't look inviting from the outside, but reminds me of a speakeasy. $10 cover to get in and the drinks are kinda pricey, but the atmosphere is pretty great. Jazz band was great. Extensive drink menu with mixed drinks, wines, draft beers, and TONS of bourbons.

The soft glow of the lamps created a cozy atmosphere. A mellow saxophone solo filled the air, punctuated by the gentle clinking of glasses. The patrons seemed to sway to the rhythm, lost in the moment. There was a certain elegance to the ambiance, a quiet sophistication. However, the slow tempo didn't quite match my energy level tonight.

I visited this spot while visiting Kansas City and it did not disappoint. This club has a gorgeous interior and chill vibe. I enjoyed my time here and would highly recommend for live jazz in a classy establishment.

The Root Beer Cream was really good. I didn't see any food I had to have. And $10 for a slice of cake is wild. But good time nevertheless. Good music. Wouldn't dance to it but I've heard worse. Chill place for a date on a Sunday night.

Always an absolute pleasure coming to the Green Lady Lounge. Sipped on a Negroni listening to the awesome three piece band last night. The vibes are immaculate (check out a pic of this painting) and the staff was so friendly and helpful. Can't wait for the next time!

One of my favorite spots in what is a very cool city. Drinks are just fine but super affordable. What's important about this place is the chill vibes and beautiful music. Wait staff was friendly as well.

I have heard about Green Lady Lounge for a few years but have never made it there. I'm SO HAPPY I finally went. The $10 cover is well worth it, and honestly likely keeps the "riffraff" out. This place is swanky so we expected crazy drink priced but that was not the case. Drink prices were reasonable and the music was awesome, especially upstairs. Thankfully we were able to get a table for two but getting there earlier for a large group seems like a good idea. 10/10 for this run evening at Green Lady!

Just beautiful. This place really captures the ambiance of what a speakeasy should be. Classy, dimly lit, swanky, great craft cocktails and wonderful music. I loved all the antique lighting and paintings that adorned the walls & ceilings. A must stop while visiting KC. If you enjoy jazz, you must try this place out!

I vote this as the best bar in Kansas City for the live jazz music, dimly lit atmosphere, and decent drinks. Every time I explore a new city, I look for "speakeasies" which is how I found Green Lady Lounge. I don't love how there is a $10 cover charge, but I get it. They run two bands at the same time, so the musicians need to make money somehow. Maybe none of the cover even goes to the bands, but I'd say this price is fair since I had a great time on my first visit. I'd 100% come back if I'm ever in Kansas City again. If you like a chill bar to relax with a nice cocktail while listening to some jazz standards, here's your spot.

I'm from St. Louis, but every time I visit Kansas City, I try to make it to Green Lady! This place is such a gem. I'm not even an avid jazz music fan, but the vibes here are truly something special. There's a $5 cover per person when they check your ID at the entrance, and they accept cash or card to keep things easy. After you pay the cover, there are two doors, one of which takes you downstairs and the other that leads to the main floor. I like that the downstairs and main level have two totally different ambiances. Both floors have different musicians performing at the same time, so there's always music to enjoy no matter where you choose to settle down! Tables and booths are first come first serve, so if you have more than two people in your group, you'll need to keep your eyes extra peeled for an open spot. I've found that it's much easier to grab an open table for two than for multiple people. They do not accept reservations. The servers are usually pretty attentive, but sometimes you're better off just placing your order at the bar. I absolutely love the Pink Lady cocktail. It's very light and refreshing! The drinks are always worth it. Green Lady Lounge is perfect for a date night or girls' night. Obsessed with this place!

Our second visit here was as good as the first! So worth the $5 cover charge Be prepared that when you walk in, it is dark. After a few mins your eyes will adjust and all will be revealed. They have a full bar, so they can mix anything, but the drink list is only a page or so long. We have tried several different offering from the menu and enjoyed the all. A charcuterie board goes well as you listen to the music and enjoy the drinks. We have only been on Saturday afternoon and the music volume is low, allowing pleasant conversation. I was told it gets louder as the night progresses. Afternoon drinking with great music is a pretty good way to spend the afternoon

This is one of the best spots in Kansas City. Whether you are out with friends, on a date, or just want to go out and have a drink while enjoying live music you can never go wrong at the Green Lady Lounge. The RBC cocktail is amazing but be warned that it can get sneak up on you as it is deceptively strong.

This place is awesome! I was in Kansas City for work and decided to stop by, after a few people recommended it. I love that they have live music every night. I came in on a Wednesday night around dinner and it was pretty empty, so I almost felt like I had my own little concert to myself. I'm sure it gets busier and more lively on the weekends, which would have been fun to see. The cover was only $5, what a deal! I didn't get anything from the bar, but it looked like they had tons of drinks available. The decor, especially the lighting, was particularly awesome. I'd recommend for anyone visiting the downtown area!

This is the place for all lovers of a classic jazz club. Cocktails are on point and FOH staff are friendly and gracious, nice midwestern hospitality. Ready your eyes and enter and exit slowly because it is DARK in there!! Ear plugs are a good idea if you want to sit up front. Even though I caught the flinging door opening on my wrist while passing, I still have a great time there every time.

For whatever reason, a lot of people do not associate Kansas City with jazz music. But there are a lot of clubs in KC, and "The Green Lady Lounge" is one of them. You can ask any bartender in town to recommend a place to listen to live music, and this place is usually at the top of the list. When you approach the front door, you pay a $5 cover. You can choose the door in front of you, which leads to the basement level; or you can choose the door immediately to the right, which leads to the ground level club. This lounge has two levels; each level has its own stage, its own band and its own bar. Each level has a slightly different look and feel. This is a fun place to hang out with friends, imbibe a few beverages, and have fun.

Music was good, it's $10 per person at the door, as per their website. Very dark inside. Didn't really care for the drinks. The passion fruit martini I got to begin with tasted like vomit, I got an old fashion afterwards which wasn't anything to write home about. We came here for the music. Service was alright. 3.5 stars.

Great place. Dark, crowded, red. There is a lot of space so don't let the crowd fool you. Jazz was decent, but as a guitar player I find people easily impressed with doodling on a guitar. Drinks were solid. I order a side car to test a bar. It comes out perfect. Charcuterie board is perfect for the evening. Great place.

Fun place to go when we visit Kansas City, it's way packed and sometimes can be hard to get a drink, but the bartenders go out of their way to make sure you've got a glass in front of you.

I had such a great time! Made tons of new friends. The bartender said I could not gift the full moon gemstone crystals to my new friends. He told me to leave but my wallet phone and keys were with my friends and I was by the door. I said I can't leave without my phone and my ride but they grabbed my wrists and ankles and threw me into the street. After 1 hour of siting on the curb they finally brought me my things. That was the rudest most misogynistic experience of my life. Take a male escort to protect you!

This was a very cool place with an old jazz club, speakeasy vibe. There is a $5 cover charge when you walk in the door and with this, you get a stamp to go next door to use the bathroom, which trust me, you'll need because in this HUGE club there are only two toilets. The club is dark with a long bar and booths along the edges with small cocktail tables where you nestle into the alcoves while listening to live Jazz music. The entire vibe feels like you stepped out of time into another era. Despite it being Saturday night and the club being PACKED, we got quick and attentive service from the server. They offer a variety of hand-crafted cocktails and a few snacks. I can see this being great for an intimate date night or an outing for friends.

It's Friday night and I wanted to have a drink with some light entertainment. What better place then to come to green lady lounge? Low lighting, live music, and a drink that you won't have to wonder if it's worth the price you're paying. This is definitely not what you would expect when you drive past. All the rumors are true!!! If you want to thoroughly enjoy the company you are out with or just an evening to unwind by yourself this place is for you! The musicians are very passionate about their music and it truly is a treat! Still not why this place is called Green Lady Lounge, but somehow it fits because it definitely stands out.

Holy cow. How it took me my whole life to find this place is beyond me. Such an amazing gem in Kansas City. I came here with friends on a busy Saturday night in April and the place was packed. As you walk up it's pretty unassuming from the outside, the only indication you're at the right place is the slew of people walking in and out, and the small sign over the entrance. Walking in you'll be greeted by a bouncer and although it says different on Yelp, there is a cover these days - I think $10, but it's worth it, especially when you take into consideration the live music which is wonderful. Once you enter it's as if you're transported back in time to the golden age of KC jazz - it's dark with warm red and gold lights softly filling the corners of this intimate jazz bar. There isn't food that I could see but there were drinks. We enjoyed our beverages, but the star of the show is the ambiance. If you go, be sure to check out both floors. It's a great place to have a nightcap or finish up a date.

Always a vibe- great music, great drinks. Try to check out the downstairs because the bar is usually less crowded and there's usually a band down there as well. We tried desserts as well and while they're nothing to rave about, they were pretty good.

Green Lady Lounge is one of my favorite places to go in Kansas City. This is the best jazz bar in the KCMO area. They offer jazz every single day and have an awesome vibe. There is a $5 cover charge per person to get in. They have two giant rooms and on the weekends and at night you will find the bottom room to be housed with another jazz band. The drinks are always on point and are always great. It is open seating so if you have a large party I recommend getting there early if you want to sit together. Service has always been great when I have visited and a must go spot especially if you are a music and jazz lover.

Lala Land but the ending was way better!! ;) We enjoyed our romantic evening with the live band and delicious cocktails. My girl Jess started with the Juarez Mule and I the Manhattan. Needless to say Jess is always right so I switched to a Juarez Mule soon after. We ended with two espresso martinis - Jess was not happy that I finished hers while she was in the restroom. The drink slapped though. The ambiance was great for vibing out to jazz and for people watching. I recommend anyone come here on their next date night. Just make sure to get here early enough to get a seat as it is first come first served.

Very cool jazz bar. This is an awesome place for a cocktail with some friends but not a place for quiet conversation :) in the best way possible. Didn't get a chance to try the food but the drinks were great. They also have a fun downstairs that isn't completely obvious. Will be back!

This place has a speakeasy vibe. Just stopped in for a glass of wine and the sound of Jazz. All of the above and more was supplied. They told me that the 10:30pm to closing show has a more energetic/blues/jazz vibe. Definitely going to return for the evening setting, next time I'm in Town.

I love love loved this bar!! This was the one place that I wanted to visit while we were in town. There is a $10 cover but a super swanky intimate setting. There was a good amount of seating and they have two floors with different musicians playing. The music was great and the cocktails were sooo yummy! I ordered the Lady Loves Chai and my friend ordered the Pink Lady drink. The drinks were so well balanced and it was very easy to drink a couple quickly but be careful bc they are strong, you just can't taste it! The staff was so helpful and very welcoming. We ended up needing to talk to the staff about someone making us uncomfortable while we were there and the worker Elijah was extremely helpful and guided us out the back and made sure that we felt safe and okay to leave. This was one of my favorite jazz lounges I've been in and highly highly recommend stopping in for a nice way to end your evening!

If you're going to have a $10 cover, then I'd expect to have decent to good service. I was there for 2 hours and we were only able to get two rounds with total avoidance from the waiter. Drinks were very average as well, and it's completely dark to where you cannot see the person across the table. Would not recommend and would rather spend my money at another place.

This club is good vibes! Amazing band, excellent service, tasty drinks, and the ambiance is like no other. Just off Grand Ave with a single door and bouncer outside. You walk in and feels like time travel to a whole new era. $5 cover charge is so worth it. They have upstairs and downstairs. We ordered the peach ginger margarita and tiramisu. Highly recommend for an unforgettable jazz club experience!

In town on a business trip and my boss recommended this truly wonderful jazz club. The atmosphere is gorgeous, the music sublime and the drinks delicious! The bartenders were attentive at the perfect time. The band the night we were there was so fabulous, I bought their CD! Highly recommend this top notch club!

Decent place to enjoy a "date-night" , listen to a little jazz music and have a few drinks.

I came here based on a recommendation from the front desk at my hotel. It's relatively close to the light district, but I took a Uber to get there. The outside is deceiving as it appears tiny and a bit sketchy but upon entry it was awesome. It was a five dollar cover to get in and there were two bands playing in the building. I was surprised to get a table on a Friday night. The band that was playing was fantastic, I believe they were called the Organ Jazz Trio. I don't know when I'll be back in Kansas City, but this will definitely be a stop on future visits.

We were looking for a chill KC jazz club w/ good original music. GLL satisfied our need in every way. Great atmosphere & great jazz. Cocktails were spot on & so was the service. The club had a comfortable setting w/ unique lighting. Looking forward to another visit.

Green lady lounge is always a VIBE! It's dark, classy, the decor/ambiance is absolutely perfect for date night! Sometimes difficult with more people if you sit close to the Jazz band as it can be loud/difficult to hear/talk with your group. Cocktails are decent, seem kind of expensive for the taste. My favorite is the Lady Loves Chai, perfect for a festive/winter drink. Other than date night, I always bring visiting guests from out of town here & people always love it! $5 cash or card cover charge at the door.

Super fun and cozy jazz bar. Almost non stop jazz, quiet, cool and comfortable ambience and great for relaxation and conversation. Drinks were made quickly and well. I don't usually get cocktails but theirs were good, we'll made and delicious! Done with alcohols I don't usually get but all quite good. Would definitely recommend for a cool and classy night. Keep in mind--if you come in during daylight hours, give yourself a minute to acclimate as it is super dark at first.

We came here on a Saturday night on the recommendation of Mayor Ronnie, who we met at the jazz museum earlier that day. To be clear, Ronnie is not the actual mayor of Kansas but the self-proclaimed social mayor of the city. So we trusted his recommendation and went to the Green Lady. The lounge is two floors, long and narrow, and super dark. It's everything you could possibly want in a jazz bar: I can't see anything as I drink my cocktail and listen to music. The band played until 3-ish and they eventually turned on the lights and kicked us out at 4am. I didn't want to leave. This is a great jazz bar.

Wow this place did not disappoint! A super vibey classic jazz bar inside with live music nightly. No drink or food minimum but I think cover was $10 a piece, which I don't think is bad. Plenty of seats. Recommend for a date drinks spot. Our waitress was just okay, but we could go up to the bar to get our drinks fast, so no big deal. Cocktails were delicious. Will go back

The Green Lady Lounge is an absolute must if you are in KC. The drinks were fantastic and reasonably priced. I got the sonic bloom and it was so refreshing. It was busy when we went but we still got served quickly. The major factor that stood out to me was the amazing live jazz music. The music, the decor and the drinks make this place an essential stop for anyone looking for a unique cocktail bar.

This place came highly recommended by two separate Uber drivers. It's a dark, cool, vibe with live Jazz music. I wasn't impressed with the drinks however. Also very loud in there so don't recommend if you're on a first date or a group of people hoping to talk.
