Yelp
Green Light Social --- practices racist enforcement of its dress code if my experience is evidence. On 5/21/2023 I showed up at the bar, having attended many times over the years--not once did I hear of a dress code, despite being VERY casual in dress in many occassions (both myself and other patrons I've noticed). The WhenWhereWhat Austin crew pushed for people to show up and support, so I did.
At 5:17pm I took an uber to the bar (wearing white crocs, a Faze Clan jersey and athletic shorts---again no mention of a dress code anywhere AND the gallery indicates casual dress.
The bouncer said to me "Umm, honestly, we have a dress code here." I left immediately and observed the patrons who apparently fulfilled the bouncer's dress code - almost all of whom were Caucasian, and as casually dressed as I or close to it (see picture).
The bouncer's attitude was differently - he was proactively selling the 7th anniversary party..stark contrast.
After noticing this disparity I took an uber and went to Uptown Sports Club instead, a more fancy high priced place that had no problem taking my $130 in food/drink, and went above and beyond to make me feel welcome.
As a former VP of Human Resources I know racial discrimination when I see it.
Minorities, professionals, other people from diverse backgrounds stay far away.
Green Light Social - it's 2023, not 1963.
