Google
I can't speak to the pharmacy experience, but the soda fountain and the store are great. We had the seasonal mint shakes and their homemade cola - very refreshing. The store is adorable! Looking forward to going back soon.

Google
What we all deserve in the care and kindness of service business Green Line Apothecary is like nothing I’ve experienced in 40+ years! And the ice cream is homemade- what a way to wait for your RX. Feeling beat up? Have the perfect Vanilla milkshake made by Ella! Thank you all. RS

Google
Love this place. I made it my pharmacy, had some pretty cool items. Love their floats, ice cream, donuts, and delectable. I get some cbd+ oils for my moms after surgery pain which helps her immensely. I love their. “soap-like” shampoo conditioner i grab a bunch for my niece. Really nice people there. Edit 12/02/2023: Also wanted to shout out Nasirah, she was super helpful and we had a good conversation 🙂

Google
I switched my prescriptions over in 2019 or so, but the pharmacy services have gone downhill since then. Usually I go in person because it's faster than calling, but I'm sick today and I've been on hold for 30+ minutes trying to fill a prescription for my child. It was quicker to text someone else and have them go there in person to pick it up for me. As others have said, the people are nice, and there's a community that wants this small business to succeed, but the pharmacy is extremely understaffed. Go there for ice cream, not prescriptions.

Google
Saj is super patient & nice and a great dessert concocter, and makes us all want to come back again soon . It was really nice to hang out at the counter and eat the delicious food. very chill and lovely !

Google
Ice cream is great! Unfortunately they do not accept Tricare anymore so I had to go to CVS. I loved going there for my medication refills

Google
Hailey was great. She was so nice. My moron of a father spilled some stuff on the ground and she cleaned it up with a smile. Btw, she makes a great strawberry shake and root bear float.

Google
Had a great meal and ice cream in a wonderful setting. Michelle provided great service and perfect recommendations! Will definitely be back.

Yelp
Koby is awesome great service as always! I just wish there was gumball machines with toys in it not just the candy...

Holly W.

Yelp
We came for a milkshake, we left with a milkshake. $8 vanilla milkshake that was a regular size. Nothing special. (If it was up to me I wouldn't have chosen vanilla but my 3 year old deserved it after his doctor's appointment.) The place is immaculately kept. Wide aisles, shelves meticulously stocked. Smelt amazing in the rear (all those fancy soaps.) TONS of merch! I guess people really love this place to sell so much Green Line stuff. I can share I dealt with 2 employees. Very nice and friendly. Impressed with the location and staff. Would like to go back and sit at the 'old school' ice cream counter.

Barry C.

Yelp
Terrific ice cream root beer floats and extremely attentive servers. Interesting gift items too, a must see!

S. F.

Yelp
Heard of this place from word of mouth. Visiting from NYC for work. Saj was excellent and attentive. Enjoyed talking about books and musicals. Thanks for giving us such a unique experience. Giving the hats to my nieces.

Mark T.

Yelp
It's a curious amalgamation of a full-on pharmacy and a soda shop. Thanks to the history, it doesn't feel out of place. I stopped in for something to satisfy my sweet tooth and went for the Phosphate Soda (raspberry flavor). The drink was delicious! It had just the right balance of sweetness to tanginess and even some minor savory notes! Though I have the unfortunate tendency of seemingly inhaling cold beverages (Lookin' at you, Dunkin coffee!), this one demanded to be savored. I would have happily ordered another if I weren't trying to watch my sugar intake! I'd also like to thank Michelle, who did a fantastic job taking care of me and making me feel welcome!

Maggie C.

Yelp
Obsessed with their shop items and their sweet treats, there's no place like it. The vintage style is impeccable & I hope they never change

Kathy C.

Yelp
Adorable throwback to an old time apothecary with delicious homemade ice cream, soda fountain and drug store. Delightful to visit and stroll the store, with lots of organic, natural and "off the beaten path" products. Cute gift shop corner has t-shirts and toys with local products. Sit at the soda fountain bar or at The welcoming tables outside with a dish of their own ice cream, a shake, float or malted, and enjoy the small town experience. Word of advice: their shakes and malted portions are enough for 3! Plan to share or bring a big appetite. Definitely worth a visit - Recommend!

Rich B.

Yelp
Best milkshakes in Providence! We're big fans of the strawberry malt-- shoutout to Saj for the great service!

Izabella C.

Yelp
Koby was friendly and helpful and the shake was good will be back :) Bathroom is clean

Eugene M.

Yelp
All the best ice cream in town. All the soda and ice cream people in town!!! Saj is one of the best! So is Hailey!

R J.

Yelp
Koby and Saj were awesome! They made our experience while we were there memorable, we will return just in hopes to be greeted and served by them both!

Dylan N.

Yelp
I love coming to Greenline! The staff is super helpful, the products are of high quality, and the soda fountain counter is adorable! Saj was particularly helpful and went above and beyond to make our milkshakes taste beyond incredible and provide top notch service!!

Jean F.

Yelp
Such a great one stop shop! Gifts, pharmaceuticals and the best dairy free (and dairy filled) ice cream options around! We had the best counter experience with Hailey - she really went above and beyond, especially with an allergy. Thank you and keep up the great work!

Rachel M.

Yelp
This place is so cute. It almost feels like stepping back in time. They're playing vintage tunes on the speaker, and there's an old soda fountain on the side. We sat at the counter and the server had some great suggestions. We tried the lime rickeys and my son had a donut ice cream sandwich. Everything was excellent, and after we enjoyed our treats, we wandered the store. They have your typical, pharmacy fare: soaps, razors, otc medicine and more, along with some of their own organic products they make themselves. Also, if you're looking for a new pharmacy that's not corporate, this is the place. It was the first pharmacy I've seen in a while where someone wasn't screaming at the staff for their prescriptions and the poor pharmacist didn't look like they were going to break down into tears. You could just put in your prescription and sit down to drink a milkshake while you wait. If we lived closer, I would definitely switch but maybe Green Line will open more locations. Fingers crossed!

J D.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Very nice atmosphere. I switched all my Rx from a chain pharmacy and the customer service has been so much better. Prices seem better too for my Rx.

Danielle F.

Yelp
What a charming place! We stopped in to browse and grab a sweet treat after a night out. We were so glad we did! A step back in time to a simpler day, even just for a moment. You have your regular pharmacy and a nice selection of first aid and toiletries, with a heavy lean toward wholistic and natural goods. There's also a few gift ideas hanging around. However, the real gem is the old fashioned soda fountain counter where you can get your ice cream, floats, or fresh-from-the-fountain soda. Everything is well done from the dessert to the decor. It's worth a visit. The selection is simple but all that you need. They are currently serving lemon meringue as the seasonal ice cream. Sprinkles and cherry complimentary!

Hunter C.

Yelp
Saj was very nice and talkative, great service and milkshakes were delicious and huge !!!!!!

Val P.

Yelp
Best shots ever. Yes- like flu shots and Covid shots! They are the best at administering them. I'm very afraid of shots but they do it on a way that apparently doesn't hurt. Ezra at the ice cream counter is amazing- he is always cheerful and helpful. Today he patiently talked to my daughter about toys and elves for at least 10 minutes.

Zoey B.

Yelp
Amazing ice cream and even better service, our lovely ice cream mans name was Saj. For 3 post sleepover milkshakes at 9am he really brought the right, friendly, and inviting energy!

Joe P.

Yelp
Tam was great! Delicious floats and great time spent with my fam! Thanks for making it a fun impromptu stop, Tam!

Stefan The Man W.

Yelp
Koby is a super duper egg cream soda scooper. Unique and great! A must try in Providence.

Jeremy M.

Yelp
Great home made ice cream - friendly staff, especially Hailey! We come here every weekend.

Dwayne W.

Yelp
Phenomenal service from Saj. High quality, old fashioned products. We had a weekend waffle and a float, both were great.

Collin B.

Yelp
this milkshake is very yummy, tasty, and, had a good texture and I loved the workers. Both workers were very nice and gave me great service

Kevin M.

Yelp
The soda fountain is excellent. Where else can you get a root beer float or lime Rickey while ordering your prescription. The store has a nice selection of health and beauty items along with some gift items. Very clean in the store and the people that work the soda fountain are well trained.

Michael C.

Yelp
If you want to go to one of the hottest spots for anything from ice cream floats to loaded waffles on the weekends then this is your place! Make sure to ask for Saj, and you will get the best service you can find. Hands down this place is a hidden gem.

Linda A.

Yelp
What an amazing shop! So many cool gifts and things to look at. We sat at the bar for some ice cream and really enjoyed chatting with our server. The highlight was the fact that they have so many dairy free options!! Definitely coming back soon!

Judie D.

Yelp
Wonderful place! Came here for a Covid shot and a coffee cabinet from Ella. She was great and makes a great cabinet!

jackie d.

Yelp
Love their ice cream and soda fountain! Hailey provided five star service. And the shop has a delightfully curated selection of pharmacy items!

Lu C.

Yelp
I wanted to like this. Finally no need to put up with CVS or Walgreens. But they fill scripts without my authorisation and constantly send me texts to pick them up. I tell them no. They do it again. This continues ad nauseam. So alas. I'm quitting them.

Dave I.

Yelp
Sam and the ice cream were awesome! Great service, and a truly throw-back atmosphere.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
Finally made it here. This spacious, clean space is beautiful inside. Plenty of parking in their lot. We walked in and we greeted by two friendly employees. I had read reviews that they had vegan ice cream sodas and THEY DO! Menu is clearly marked with dairy free and vegan options. Today, they offered vegan hot fudge along with two vegan ice creams: pumpkin spice and coconut. I ordered a cream soda with pumpkin spice. So delicious! They make that ice cream I'm house. I cannot wait to go back and try something else and shop!

Isabel D.

Yelp
My grandson and I are regulars at the soda fountain. He likes to bring friends there for coffee malts. The service is great. However, there is one employee who usually works weekends and is extremely rude. No smile, eye rolls, slams shakes a on counter. This wasn't the first time we encountered this attitude, in fact she is quite consistent. We asked for a couple of shakes split in two , one half in a to go container. What prompted me to write this review is that she waved the cup in my face, said " what do you want me to do with this" and then slammed it on the counter. Not sure how this person has lasted so long here- obviously she does not enjoy her job and is not cut out to interact with the public. O star for service for this one particular employee-

Lauren M.

Yelp
So much to love here. It's old-time feels meets modern conveniences. Soda counter? Check. Cool old vehicles? Got it. Knowledgeable pharmacists? Yup. Delivery? Yep. Let's start with the pharmacy side. The pharmacy is open and clean. It's much more pleasant picking up prescriptions here than a chain pharmacy. The pharmacy offers delivery, which we haven't used. We got our COVID shots here back when everyone was seeking them, and the pharmacy had a clear process and managed traffic well. Now let's get to the good stuff. Holey moley the ice cream is good! We've gotten it multiple times at the counter, taken pints home, and, in a moment of desperation, I ordered delivery via Doordash (and it arrived quickly and still cold!). It is fun sitting at the counter and makes me think of how I went to get shakes at Woolworth's with my grandparents. This past week, I took my parents and kids here and everything was unbelievably good: chocolate shake, vanilla shake, hot fudge sundae, and a scoop of strawberry. Highly recommend!

Shana P.

Yelp
So sweet, clean, cute. Somehow both modern and vintage. Ben was helpful, efficient and friendly. Come for the flu shot, stay for the egg cream!

Yelp
Tried very very hard to like this hipster pharmacy, For one, it's just around the corner from where I live and I like the look of the place. However, after SO MANY mix-ups and delays and incompetence with the pharmacy , I give up. On 2/22/2022: I had my dog's Vet call in a prescription and I called GL and asked for delivery (well before the cut off time to order delivery); I had a broken ankle so couldn't pick this up myself. By 7pm when I still hadn't received the meds for my dog , I called them again. Instead of saying they forgot or misplaced my order they said it was still out. Surprise surprise , it arrived 3 minutes later. No apology. Please just be honest when you make a mistake. On 03/08/22: Required a re-fill. I called the Vet to call GL and then I called GL to confirm they got the 'script and see when it would be ready. GL told me I would have to wait one day as they didn't have the meds on hand. They would order them and they would be there tomorrow. 03/09/22: I called GL to be be sure the meds were there. GL said they would arrive in a few hours. I called back in a few hours. The meds were there but I couldn't have them delivered because it was well past the delivery request deadline. I ordered an Uber to drive me to pick them up and back home. On 3/14/22: Time to refill another 'script. This time it a total of 4 calls back and forth with the Vet and GL before GL said they had received the 'script. Unfortunately the Vet sent the 'script over the weekend (3/12) and GL kept saying they never received it. Finally, got everything cleared up and was able to pick up meds on Monday 3/14/22. By the time I could pick them up (knew I couldn't rely on GL delivery) my dog was in pain and past her time to take the meds by a few hours. On 3/25/22: Needed more meds: Called GL to make sure the meds were ready for pick up that the Vet had called in that morning. No, they were not ready. They would be ready later. I picked them up between 4-5 pm. Today, 04/5/2022: 1pm Called to see if the meds were ready that the Vet had called in first thing this morning. No, not only were they not ready GL would not be able to get them at all. "The warehouse doesn't have them and doesn't know when they will get them". I called my Vet and asked her to send the 'script to a new pharmacy. She asked me WHY GREENLINE DIDN"T CALL ME OR THEM TO LET US KNOW THEY COULDN"T GET THE MEDS????!!!! I just told her that GL is terribly dis organized, unproffessional, and incompetent.

Yelp
Stopped in to try the soda fountain and enjoyed a delicious Cherry Lime Rickey. It was perfectly made and included a homemade maraschino cherry. The attendant, Ella, was friendly and let me know of the other options available. Looking forward to stopping in again!

Amy G.

Yelp
we just had ice cream at green line apothecary. The ice cream was great and the service even better. Hailey is a true sundae and milk shake aficionado! Total chill vibe as she asked me if I wanted the small extra from the metal cup and squeezed hot sauce into the dish so it melted perfectly around the big scoop of ice cream. Close attention to details. She's the bomb!

Joel S.

Yelp
Super fun throwback, great ice cream!

Vicki C.

Yelp
A real deal pharmacy and soda shop that lets you go back to the 1950s in all the right ways. First off this an excellent pharmacy. I moved my prescriptions from one of the chains and couldn't be happier. Super personal service, friendly calls to let me know ahead of time if a scrip needs an authorization and free delivery. The only problem is that I never have to step foot in the shop, which is a problem since I look for excuses to come here. They have everything you need on shelves like ibuprofen, bandaids and heating pads. They also have amazing Rhode Island local bath salts and gifts plus the cutest old fashioned toys. And don't even get me started on the ice cream; they have about a dozen flavors, and every single one comes in non-dairy if you ask! Plus a real deal soda fountain--if you don't know what that is, you should probably just go try it yourself.

Diane M.

Yelp
So my daughter has been wanting to visit this establishment for quite awhile. So today was the big day. It's like stepping back to the 50s. There's a soda fountain, though it isn't in use because of Covid. But one can still order from a menu of various drinks. I ordred a hot chocolate and my daughter ordered a coffee shake. The hot chocolate was creamy and very chocolatey. So good. And hot!!! It took about 25 minutes before I could take a sip. My daughter loved her coffee milkshake w real coffee beans( I think) in it. I purchased a candle, that has the most calming effect and travels softly throughout the entire house. Warm Sand is the scent. The staff member we dealt with was a very nice young man, pleasantly answering all of our questions. This is somewhere I will definitely revisit--hopefully with my daughter.

Yelp
Cool new pharmacy that has a nice little soda fountain in it. We went for the soda fountain, but wandered around a bit. Overall they had a lot of specialty items, good beard stuff, and it was more homeopathic and naturopathic items. They had some of the run of the mill stuff too. The soda fountain was great. They had about six different flavors of ice cream and you could get cups, comes, sundaes or shakes. You can get the shakes malted or not. I went with a Malted Birthday Cake Shake. It was thick! And good! Stop in, you'll be happy.

Morgan C.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I are Green Line devotees, and we were so excited to finish our Easter afternoon festivities with some freshly made sodas and milkshakes at the brand new Providence branch of this fantastic blast from the past! Like its sister store in Wakefield, RI, the new locale features a full service soda fountain, plus a pharmacy that delivers anywhere in Rhode Island (if you live locally, they'll even come to you in a cool vintage green truck!), however, this shop is twice the size and stocks more products than before! You'll have a blast walking through the aisles, taking in the locally made soaps, bath products, and novelties, and then settling down at the spacious wooden counter for a craft milkshake that is reminiscent of a simpler time. The soda fountain menu is the same as the original location, and the complimentary toppings of signature green sprinkles, freshly whipped cream, and Instagram friendly maraschino cherries thankfully carry over. Be creative and come up with your own combinations for milkshakes and floats made from small batch syrups and locally made ice cream, or ask the soda jerks for their opinion on what the best flavor pairings are. We had a couple of different things today - an Orange Creamsicle shake, made with vanilla ice cream and orange syrup; a Cherry Chocolate shake; and a specially made Diet Cola with Lime, where our barista took the Lime Rickey base and mixed it with Diet Cola syrup and soda water. Amazing! That's what I'll be getting from now on. Green Line Apothecary is our favorite spot for a simple, fun, memorable, and affordable date, and I am happy to say that the Providence location is just as magical as the flagship one in Wakefield! Check it out!

Yelp
I'm a pretty all or nothing kind of gal when it comes to ice cream experiences, and this is just an all around wonder. A real apothecary?! That's interesting in its own right, and I hope people will utilize this small business for all of their vitamin, drug, and soap needs. But I can promise I will be back for the ice cream floats, giant slices of cherry pie, and amazing dessert-drinks of yore. (This is neither here nor there, but I believe I was actually a child of the 40s because this place gives me a nostalgia I shouldn't have.) So, my only issue is that there are way too many combination possibilities. Choose your ice cream! Choose your soda! Choose your syrup! Milkshakes, malted shakes, hot chocolate, coffee (made with a chemex, fyi), chai tea, phosphate sodas, egg cream sodas, donut ice cream sandwiches... TOO. MANY. GOOD. THINGS. I don't know our server's name but he had septum piercing and was an all star. He helped me when I cried, "what do I doooooooo?" And he listened as intently as a therapist when I went back and forth between all of the choices. I ended up with, by his suggestion, an ice cream float with caramel ice cream (I wouldn't have chosen that myself but it is a DELICIOUS ice cream. I'd eat it unadulterated) with a strawberry cream syrup. It was delightful, and I more or less inhaled it. My friend got a malted shake with strawberry ice cream and hot fudge. We eyed the giant slices of pie, and I thought next time we need to strategize better to save room for them. This place is going to be on my regular rotation. Love it!

Ted L.

Yelp
I gave this pharmacy four stars. I took one away cuz at first they were a small business with very personalized attentive service. But then it grew by leaps and bounds as they say .. and it lost that touch. But I had a chat with one of the pharmacist and things seem to have been better. Also a big shout out to Ryan a pharmacist. In addition having the name Ryan (one of my favorite names) and more importantly he really helped me out of a big jam yesterday quickly easily and totally understood my issue.

April Y.

Yelp
I love this place! My friend who lives nearby suggested that we visit, and I was not disappointed. The atmosphere is really cute, the service excellent and the treats yummy and reasonably priced. I admit I went to Green Line Apothecary three times in the span of two weeks! I am not from the East Coast, so the concept of a Lime Rickey is new to me. I ordered one with raspberry and thought it was just the right amount of tart and really refreshing. I've also had the donut ice cream sandwich (they are VERY generous with the ice cream) and if I may say so myself, the cinnamon sugar donut with the caramel ribbon ice cream was a winning combination! I also loved the whimsical vanilla shake with the squiggly chocolate syrup on the inside. It's so cute that all shakes come with whipped cream, sprinkles and a cherry on top. As for the pharmacy side, there is an extensive array of products that really cater to folks who prefer "natural" items (without sulfates, parabens, etc.). They even have a section of beauty/food products made in New England! My parents also loved the retro section with throwback toys from when they were kids. I love the spirit of Green Line Apothecary and have a lot of fun every time I go there. I highly recommend it! It's such a great place to go with friends and family on a warm summer day.

Cary B.

Yelp
What a cute and quant place!! I felt like i was teleport back to a pharmacy of the 1950s. They have essential oils, bath bombs, aromatic sprays, lotions, and other pharmacy essentials. They also have a full on pharmacy in the back. The coolest part is they have ice cream, shakes, floats, and sodas (sparkling and colas) as well as tea coffee and baked goods!!! Yumm!! We bought some of the sprays they are nice and refreshing and relaxing! I had a mint chocolate chip shake, cherry cola and the lime ricky soda. We were all happy with our drink and listening to old music. You can sit inside or outside. Things are a little pricy but you are paying for quality/organic. I would recommend and come back!

Ellie B.

Yelp
Two thumbs up. It's an old-fashioned ice cream shop, natural drugstore and pharmacy that delivers in that cool green van. Welcome to the neighborhood! Apparently all of the ice cream comes from Western mass except for the coffee ice cream which is made in Warwick. They have non-dairy and gluten free options.

David L.

Yelp
I love it here! Green Line is not only my pharmacy, but also my happy place for shakes, floats, and a treat after a long work day. Allie is the best, and always friendly and enthusiastic. She really knows how to make the customers smile and feel welcome. She is the reason I have been coming here every Friday after work. GIVE THIS GIRL A RAISE

Nancy M.

Yelp
Tam makes the best root beer floats!
