The Best Restaurants In San Jose - San Jose - The Infatuation

"Green Lotus is a plant-based Vietnamese spot with a mixed crowd of in-the-know locals and monks from the nearby monastery. Dishes like caramelized faux fish claypot and sweet and sour hotpot bring all the Vietnamese flavors you’d expect, just without any meat. It's in a small sunlit space in the Little Saigon shopping plaza, and we like it best for lunch or an early solo dinner (they close at 8pm)." - shoshi parks

Ordered a few starters and rice from here for dinner and was surprised with the yummy taste with which they had made vegan food so deliciously. We had ordered spring rolls which were stuffed well and mildly spicy, a perfect combination with fried rice. The other two starters were equally tasty and went well with the rice, particularly the mushrooms.

As a vegetarian I was very excited to visit this restaurant and they did an amazing job. I have never been able to try hot pot before because most of the time it's meat based. I was very happy to see that they had vegan/vegetarian hot pots available. I got the Vietnamese Sweet & Sour Hot Pot. The veggies were all ripe and good while the veggies imitation meat was surprisingly good.

The food here is solid, and I love that they offer a smaller portion of Pho! The size is just right—not too heavy, but enough to satisfy without feeling overstuffed. Vegan Pho & Red Curry: The Red Curry was especially good—rich, flavorful, and served in a piping hot bowl that keeps the heat locked in. The Vegan Pho (with an ideal portion size) was decent, though it can taste a bit bland if you don’t add enough spices. Thankfully, they provide fresh powdered chili, which really enhances the flavor. With a few extra seasonings, it tastes just right. Service: Decent service with a friendly staff. Ambience: Nice interiors with a clean, casual setup. Despite having a bit of a fast-food feel, the atmosphere is still enjoyable. PS: Really wish they offered more small-portion items on the menu—the sizing would be perfect!

Visited this restaurant during weekend for lunch. The parking lot has limited spots. And there are homeless nearby. The service is 3/5. We waited some time before anyone came to take the order although we are the only customers waiting for that. We asked for iced water but the water served to us is home temperature without ice cubes in it. The customers on the other table got two glasses of ice water. We ordered Green Lotus Roll Sample, which is great! It comes with 6 different kind of rolls. Each kind of roll tastes good! And the three sauce adds even more flavor. However, the chicken and mushroom fired rice didn’t meet my expectations. The mushroom is flavorless. And they added too much oil for the fried rice. The quantity is pretty good for both dishes. We had a lot of leftover and had them for dinner as well. Will try hot pot next time.

We visited this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. We are not vegetarian or vegan, but I wanted to try this place. As some people recommended, we ordered shaken "beef" with bell peppers and "pork" rolls. They were delicious! I really liked something crunchy in the rolls. "Beef" tasted and felt like beef. The sauce was tasty without being too salty. We ordered a fried noodle dish. It was much bigger than we expected but tasted perfectly yummy! I highly recommend this place for those people who are interested in vegan food but haven't been one. This place will open your eyes.

Green Lotus is an absolute gem for vegans! From the moment my husband and I stepped in, we were greeted with a warm ambiance and a menu full of delightful vegan dishes. The best part is not having to worry about meat, making it a perfect place for those embracing a vegan lifestyle. The portion sizes were generous, and every bite was incredibly yummy 😋. Oh, and you must try their BBQ Pork Rolls; they are a true delight! We visited this charming restaurant for my pre-birthday celebrations, and it made the occasion even more special. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about their vegan offerings. We left with happy hearts and satisfied taste buds, already planning our next visit. Green Lotus is now our go-to place, and we can't wait to share this wonderful experience with our pure vegetarian friends. Highly recommended! ♥️♥️

Not the most inviting interior, very minimalist, but the food is AMAZING! I'm not Vegan or even vegetarian. Their take on plant-based meat is delicious, i didn't even miss the real meat. My friend said he had to bring his girlfriend here. We were very pleasantly surprised and wud definitely return.

Be vegan - peace starts on your plate. Loved the Green lotus! Fresh vibes! Everything is vegan. Delicious and fragrant dishes, flavorful teas and friendly staff- oh yeah someone taught me how to use chopsticks- that was really kind. I went to this place as I was craving for pho and I got Vietnamese food and pho both. So, I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered spring rolls, chicken, tofu and mushroom pho (all vegan) and rice dish with chicken and tofu with veggies and last but not the least Thai tea and mango green tea (one of the tastiest tea I tasted, it was so flavorful and refreshing, ideal for summers). They have really good portion size. We had to ask for to go boxes as we were so full halfway through. Service was quick and if you are not sure what to order- you can also ask for recommendations. The ambiance was full of zen vibes! There is a beautiful Buddha painting on one wall. I really enjoyed the whole experience at the Green lotus. I hope you will also enjoy weekend lunch or brunch here. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I dashed myself a treat-yoself meal and was craving something crunchy and a random desire to try vegan fish, and Green Lotus had exactly that. Perfectly seasoned Crispy Seasoning Oyster Mushrooms had a delectable crunch and the accompanying sauce was the bomb.com. Then the faux fish craving was fulfilled with their Sautéed Crunchy Fish with Lemongrass & Pepper. I cut up the fish and wrapped it in seaweed, inhaling and savoring each bite. Everything tasted so delicious I had no need to add spicy chili crisp.

Yelp
aesthetic: 2/5 food: 5/5 service: 3/5 sj is secretly a vegan vietnamese mecca, with one of its best restaurants being green lotus!! i ADORE green lotus for their fried oyster mushroom (always get an extra order for myself lol) and other homey vietnamese classics. we always get the mushrooms for family gatherings and you know they are that good when even our non-veg friends say its the star of their meal :) some other go-to's here i recommend are the salted fish fried rice, the bbq mock pork spring rolls, and the taro rolls. if you are dining in, the spring roll sampler is perfect for two to share, and it's a fun way to figure out your favourite spring rolls out of green lotus's very expansive menu offerings. parking here can be tricky, as green lotus is in a small strip mall off a busy street. while the location itself is a bit off/sketchy, the food is super worth and the vibes inside are very cozy - a contrast to the other shops in the plaza.

Yelp
The service was good but the food was better This hole in the wall place has a very small parking lot that is hard to access Other than that, my experience was complimentary. For a party of four (it was my mom's birthday) we ordered five dishes. We ordered the spring rolls, fried tofu, steamed veggies, pho, and yellow curry to share The spring rolls had tofu in it along with peanut sauce. The fried tofu was freshly fried and came with a sweet chili sauce. The steamed veggies were fine. The pho had wide noodles, tofu, and spam. The yellow curry was small in portion size We got to the restaurant around 11:30 am without a crowd

Yelp
Went here with a couple of friends yesterday. The crab udon was delicious! We went on a Monday afternoon so it was very quiet and service was quick.

Yelp
Everything was delicious! Loved mushroom soup and mango salad and everything we ordered!

Yelp
Vegetarian food! Came here for a quick lunch. * We got: 1. Crispy Mushroom: the sauce pairs nicely with it. Super crispy 2. Nem nuong: different components include; apple slices, crispy wonton roll, vegetarian meat, lettuce (We always order one of these) Portions are not bad. Service is good!

Yelp
Super quick & friendly service & food was AMAZING. Huge portions, couldn't finish all my rice. Crispy oyster mushroom appetizer was so delicious! My daughter loved her clay pot pork. Took off 1 star because I wanted to buy the jerky after noticing it after I paid our bill. They force you to pay at least $10 for credit card. After paying $74 I feel like an exception could have been made.

Yelp
The food here is amazing. At least the two dishes I got were authentic tasting even tho it was vegan. My gf doesn't like the taste of meat very much and so I was so happy she got to taste what Bo Bun Hue and crispy chow mein would taste like. I would highly recommend. The portions are huge too we took left overs home and had another meal. You pay at the front and the food came out quickly.

Yelp
Green Lotus is one of our favourites vegan restaurants in the bay and we've been here numerous times. In our recent visit, we ordered the usual Oyster Mushroom appetiser which we absolutely LOOVEEEE and we also got their Thai style soup. I remember the oyster mushroom always being fantastic, but was a bit let down this time to find it not hot and crispy as it usually is. Nevertheless, delicious! Thai soup hit all the right spots - a yummy mix of veggies, mock meat and pineapple. The portions are big and just these two items was enough for me & my partner - we devoured them. Hope to back many times before the end of winter ;)

Yelp
My favorite spot for vegetarian Vietnamese food! We usually go to the location on Story Road, but we thought it would be pretty packed for Lunar New Year, so we went to the Bascom location instead! Everything tasted amazing as usual. My favorites are the vegetarian bun bo hue and deep fried oyster mushrooms. I also love their Green Lotus Hot Pot, but that would be for next time! I feel like the service here is so much better than the service at the Vietnam Town location, and the interior is much more spacious as well.
google avatar

Yelp
Some of the best veggie food I have had. The oyster mushrooms were very well seasoned and the fried rice was buttery goodness! They also have a store in the restaurant where they sell the faux meat at very reasonable prices!
google avatar

Yelp
D-licious!!! I was skeptical about imitated animal protein made with soy and stuff, but all the dishes we ordered were very well made, great flavor and texture, eating feeling good about it. I would definitely go back and try other items!!

Yelp
If you're looking for a vegetarian or vegan place, this will be the spot for you. They offer a variety of dishes and they're all delicious. We got a mixed of the cold and warm soupy dishes. Everything was scrumptious. The smoothie was fresh and made from real fruit. Excellent service and ample seatings. The only comment is the lack of parking in this plaza.
google avatar

Laura C.

Yelp
Definitely recommend to everyone! One of the best places. Asian cuisine is my favorite and here you can try it ! Thank you !
google avatar

Marta S.

Yelp
Very good vegetarian restaurant. I love their eggplant tofu dish. I wish I had pictures but I always gobble my food up the minute they bring it out. Not all dishes have imitation meat, which is typically made from wheat gluten. Several dishes are made with Tofu which I much prefer. I don't think this restaurant has gluten free options (not sure) but you have "low gluten" options if you don't order dishes with imitation meat. If you have no dietary restrictions, this place is paradise.

Yelp
Take what I say with a grain of salt because I am not vegan. I came here not knowing it was entirely vegan lol. I was craving beef pho and ordered that. Mind you this is not truly beef. I love veggies but do not enjoy vegan meats made to taste and feel like meat. I feel like the "meats" were pretty decent but did not love the broth. Don't think I'd recommend the pho. I got the nem Cuon or bbq pork roll and I liked that bc of the textures. Didn't love the dipping sauce but it was clean. I think if you come here probably would order something that is normally mostly veggies like porridge or salads. Not sure if I would come here again but I think it's decent for someone looking for vegan food. Service was decent. They apologized for not bringing water and a plate/utensils in the beginning. The prices are very good.

Yelp
The food is great and delicious, service is hospitable and friendly, dining room is clean and lively. I'd love to come back.!!

Yelp
My friend and I came here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. It was not very busy when we came because it was a late lunch, so we were seated quickly. Food: We ordered the tofu spring rolls to share. They were good, and I'd order them again. We each ordered the pho for lunch. I enjoyed the variety of vegan meats available. The entire menu is plant based. Service: Service was a little slow, but not too bad. The four stars was because it was a little slow. Everyone we interacted with was very nice. This is not the restaurant's fault, but the parking here was not great. It was a packed plaza. TL;DR - fully plant based vietnamese food, what more can I ask for

Yelp
Another review for G Lo - Midtown version. I don't have much to say. This place is just as good as the OG on Story Rd. Like the Story Rd location, It even has the random vagrants outside to enliven your experience! All jokes aside, the food, service, and basically everything at this location is indistinguishable from the Story Rd location. Read: this place is good!! I have never had a bad dish or experience here and I don't think I ever will. This location has a mini freezer filled with delicious vegan items to take home so you can be vegan even when you aren't at Green Lotus. G LO G LO G LO

Yelp
3.9 stars! This restaurant is super clean and the staff was so attentive. The menu is quite extensive so theres something for everyone. I loved their spring roll sampler. The eggplant dish was plentiful with the perfect amount of sweet and savory flavors. You must get their birds nest crispy noodles! It was a generous amount. It's noteworthy that their "meats" have the texture of real meat.

Yelp
I love Green Lotus! The portions are generous, the food is always fresh and the service is quick and kind. I usually do a pickup for lunch so I haven't eaten inside the restaurant but the food travels really well and always tastes fresh; they even vent the fried foods to prevent them from getting soggy. I've been eating here for a while and have tried so many things at this point, I'm surprised I'm barely reviewing. In fact, I ordered a bunch of food from here for Thanksgiving this year because I like it so much. Items I love and will 100% order on repeat - Crispy Seasoning Oyster Mushroom (10/10): I love everything about this dish. It's crispy, the coating is super flavorful, the bell peppers hit. I have to stop myself from overindulging when I get this. FYI I don't use the sauce they come with because they don't need it, but I also don't love the flavor. - Papaya Salad (9/10): Delicious! I've always loved papaya salad. It's so crispy, refreshing and flavorful. - Thai's Style Fried Rice (10/10): The rice is extremely flavorful. No notes. - Shaken Beef Rice Plate (8/10): The rice portion of the plate is HUGE! The sauce they use is delicious, I love all the bell peppers. - Sautéed Crunchy Shrimp with Pepper (10/10): Extremely flavorful coating, love the text and the bell peppers. Another dish where I would eat the entire container if I had the space in my belly. - Caramelized Roasted Pork in Clay Pot (9/10): Flavor bomb! And the texture hits like pork belly. Having this over rice is a hit. Items I liked but aren't on my faves list - Sautéed Crunchy Fish with Lemongrass & Pepper (7/10): This is a solid dish. I did not dislike it, it's just not special enough to be in my rotation. The "fish" and sauce was flavorful but I don't think it gives enough fish flavor to pass. - Salted Fish Fried Rice (7/10): The rice was good but not as good as the Thai style imo. - Combination Vermicelli Bowl (6.5/10): I liked this but did not fall in love with it, maybe more sauce less noddles would make me like it more? Items I've tried but would not order again - Shrimp Cake (6/10): This was not bad but too clunky/dense and not flavorful enough to add to my rotation. - Sautéed Beef with Broccoli (6/10): I think this is just too basic to be in my rotation. It's a solid alternative but doesn't pack enough punch to make me want it over and over again. - Soft Chow Mein (10/10): I tried this prior to becoming vegan. I love everything about it, but the egg noodles make it non-vegan so sadly can't have it again. - Eastern Duck Style Noodle Soup (5.5/10): I didn't love the broth, it was too sweet for my liking. Had to add LOTS of chili and sriracha. Also non-vegan due to egg noodles so wouldn't order again either way. - Soft Chow Fun (5/10): You'd think this would be just as good as the soft chow mein since they're pretty much the same minus the noodles but this was too bland for me. - Egg Roll (2/10): I did not like the egg rolls, the interior was too mushy and the seasonings did not make up for it.

Yelp
I know I've written review here before, but for some reason this popped up again. Lol so here's an updated one. Hee I love this place!! I have a number of food, allergies, the main one being, I'm allergic to monosodium glutamate, which is sadly in a lot of Asian food that I love! I find myself having to cook at home or making my own sauces if I don't go out for sushi, plain sushi. This particular restaurant doesn't have any MSG in their sauces And has a lot of vegetarian and even vegan options within their menu! My family and I love eating here since some of us are vegetarian and pescatarians! The meat lovers in our family also liked the shaken beef and the barbecue pork rolls/A4. They cannot tell that it's tofu And love the flavor!! Service here is always quick and easy. We always get new dishes and haven't found a dish. We don't like yet. Since it's summer, I have to recommend there mango sticky rice! It's simply delicious. I also love the open seated area with air conditioning and the beautiful mural on the side! The neon green chairs are cute and retro and I also like how the majority of the people that are cooking wear masks. So I am thankful of that. I get takeout food here more than I can remember, and the parking is slim to none. I know a handful of people double park in handicap to run in and get takeout. I was feel bad for the DoorDash drivers. But the restaurant itself is delicious!! I will definitely be back here again and again. Hee

Yelp
We ate here today for the first time. Food we ordered today was delicious. Restaurant is clean and comfortable. Service was good. We ordered the combination porridge and banana flower salad. Plenty of food for both of us. We are even taking a tiny bit of porridge home. We will be back!
google avatar

Monica S.

Yelp
When I read the reviews for this place I couldn't wait to eat here. And now that I have, there was some hits and there were some misses. Let's start with the good news: the portions are large and well presented. In fact, I wish my server would have cautioned me and said, "For two people, that's a lot of food." Instead we ended up taking home a lot of food. Here's what we ordered: Spicy Noodle Soup Bún Hue - out of all the dishes we ordered, I'd come back for this one as there was lots of flavor Stir Fried Eggplant with Tofu & Fresh Basil - while the tofu was flavorful due to the sauce, the eggplant lacked flavor Crispy Seasoning Oyster Mushroom - initially I liked this dish, but later found the dish to be greasy and the ends of the mushroom were unpleasantly tough, when I asked our server what the crust was made out of, he mumbled something to the effect of, "I didn't make it." Crispy Tofu - good, but the crust was heavy Spring Roll Sampler - there were a stunning 8 large rolls, some I liked, and some I didn't care for. When I think about it, I don't know that I'll be running back here anytime soon.

Yelp
Have been going to this place for a while now. Also a regular DoorDash order. Restaurant is located at a busy intersection, so be aware of traffic and cars. The inside of the restaurant is nice and clean. Food is always very good. Some of our favorites: BBQ Pork Rolls, Spicy Noodle Soup, Salted Fish Fried Rice, Maybe i'd dock half a star for service, they can be rather slow at times. but always friendly.
google avatar

Jenn W.

Yelp
I stopped by here on a rainy day since I was craving a bowl of noodles. I ordered the N2: Spicy Noodle Soup. The bowl was spicy and deliciously savory. While, I normally love meat, I could see myself coming here every now and then when I want a vegetarian alternative. Only complaint about this place is the parking lot. Located in a very sketchy shopping plaza where parking can be tight.
google avatar

Kelani A.

Yelp
I was very excited to try this restaurant and I did enjoy it. Service was good, and the restaurant was nice and clean. Our favorite dish was the crispy oyster mushroom, we would definitely get that again. I also did really enjoy the combination porridge. Some of the other foods (caramelized clay pot fish and crunchy pepper shrimp) were a little too much on the sweet side for us. For the shrimp I was really looking forward to the shrimpy taste, but the breading kind of took over the flavor and texture. The crispiness was excellent though. The portion sizes are very good for the price. I might come again just for the oyster mushrooms alone. Also enjoyed the music :)

Yelp
Amazing service! The staff are friendly and accommodating. Clean dining area although simply decorated. There is fantastic mural painted on one of the walls though. Adds to the place's authenticity. Lots of vegan and healthier options. Prices are a bit high but portions are fair. Only downside : parking is awful! But still worth the food.

Yelp
Don't know why I haven't done a review for them since I eat here all the time. Great veggies and topping. Service pretty efficient. It was quiet the past two time I was here probably because it was not busy hours. Decors are nice to look at. My favorites: Salted fish fried rice: 5 stars here. Savory and delicious. You just need side of veggies to balance out the rice. Thai style free fried rice: 4.5 stars. Spicy and savory with hint of basil. Yummy. Crunchy chow mein: 5 stars. 2-3 people can probably share this. I always take it to go and it's still crunchy when I get home. I couldn't finish it the other time so I put the noodles in a zip lock bag and it was still crunchy after 24 hours. Amazing! Fried mushrooms appetizers: 4 stars. Salt and pepper with tamarind like dip. Yummm. Vegetarian shrimp with sugar cane and vermicelli (appetizer dish) 4stars. The dipping sauce is ok. But I enjoy wrapping the vermicelli noodle and shrimp in salad and herbs and dipping it before chewing on the sugar cane. It's my fav lunch and fills me up.

Yelp
This spot has been on my list forever but for whatever reason it has taken me over a year to get around to it. I have regrets about the lost time. The hype is real. We had mushroom porridge, shaken beef rice plate, and the most delicious crispy oyster mushrooms EVER. Service was quick and friendly, definitely not over the top. The location and indoor seating feels like a pho spot, nothing really stood out in that sense but we came for the food and the food was the star.

Yelp

Yelp
I haven't had good Vietnamese food tailored for a vegan or vegetarian since I moved to Northern California months ago. This is now my new favorite Vietnamese restaurant! Food is delicious and affordable. They also have vegetarian instant noodles available for an amazing price of five dollars or less for a pack of 10. Thức ăn của nhà hàng này rất ngon và không đắt
google avatar

Yelp
The BEST vegan food I have ever had! I am impressed both by how much variety this restaurant has in the items offered and how amazing and flavorful the dishes are. Their items are made with love and I thoroughly enjoyed everything. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
An interesting Vegetarian restaurant in the middle of a busy intersection of Bascom and San Carlos St. The restaurant looks decent and well lit, with Buddha art on the wall and green "healthy" motif. Tried two things and so far both are good. The Green Curry with Tofu and Eggplant feels light but tasty. It's a bit on the spicy side but just at the edge of my spicy tolerance. The crispy mushrooms are crispy and not too oily. The breading is in the borderline of overpowering the mushroom, but still good enough. I love the sauce though. There are a lot of interesting food at the menu. Definitely a good place for Vegetarian Asian food. The prices are also reasonable. Parking maybe a challenge getting one and getting out during busy dining hours, but if you have the time, it's worth the try.

Yelp
Absolutely loved it! Always great to see vegetarian and vegan restaurants that can cater to vegans or meat lovers. Service: the waiters were very attentive (they heard our fork fall to the ground and immediately come to ask if we needed anything) Allergies: they are extremely accommodating if any allergies or preferences (eg not adding garlic) Food: excellent quantity for very reasonable prices. The appetizer platter of rolls were great, the egg roll (which doesn't have egg) and jicama roll were particular favorites. We rarely get to see vegetarian hot pot so big fan of the 5 different options. Can't wait to come again!

Yelp
I am glad I stopped by one evening after work to try it out. As more people becoming vegans and vegetarians, I am happy to see many restaurants are popping up in the Bay Area. The plant based protein is very popular in pop culture. There are many selections assimilate chicken, beef, or seafood equivalent proteins that I do not miss meat at all here. I ordered the shaken beef rice plate and green lotus roll sampler all for myself. So I definitely had leftover to bring home. They were tasty and delicious. If you need to be on low sodium diet, please remind their cook to go easy on the sauce. The entire restaurant decor is green based. It was a comfortable dining ambiance. Parking lot was narrow and packed. So you need to pay attention backing up from a parking space.

Yelp
Found this hidden gem of a place when crispy fried noodles caught my eye. Located around Stevens Creek Boulevard. The main reason for 4/5 is because the parking at the plaza is horrible- cramped and narrow. I circled around 3 times trying to find parking but ended up parking a few streets past near a neighborhood and walking. However, arriving at the restaurant, no diner was there around 6:30 pm on a Sunday evening, so my friend and I had the place to ourselves. Cute decor, filled with plants and embodies the vegetarian and vegan vibes. What we ordered: -Salted Fish Fried Rice: great seasoning of salt on the dish overall with chunks of soft tofu. The rice was top quality with it being soft and packed with flavor. The saltiness of the fish and the odor was really enhanced by the white rice as the base. -Crispy Chow Mein: larger portion than we had expected! Juicy amount of vegetables- carrots, broccoli, and more- on top of the noodles. Aesthetically pleasing like a crown or a bird's nest! The noodles themselves are great to snack on but a bit too dry. It was fun to break and have it combine with the sauce on top and on the bottom of the plate. Crunchy for the palate and crunchy asmr sounds for the ears. Great spot for vegetarians and vegans to try! Definitely recommend

Yelp
I want to love this place so much, but this is the second time I've visited and it has not met my expectations. It's fine that the dining area isn't fancy. There did seem to be a constant take-out line. The waiter was not knowledgeable about allergens, including gluten, so I was left guessing what I could eat. I landed on the mango salad (excellent), spring rolls (decent but nothing special, with uncooked tofu), and the mushroom hot pot (VERY sweet). This one is a pass for me on vegan Vietnamese food.

Yelp
Parking was a pain but the food was great. I am not a fan of fake and mock meats. I think we have a plethora of amazing vegetable options and if cooked properly they can convert the most avid meat eater. So we decided to stick to options mostly without fake meats and got the oyster mushrooms, spicy noodle soup, chicken and mushroom fried rice and chicken chow mein. oyster mushrooms: these were deliciously greasy. The kids believed this to be fish and enjoyed it as well. The larger pieces were very tough to chew and bite off though. Chicken chow mein: first of the all, the dish it was served in was perfect. It had a shallow smaller bowl with an extra large rim. The soup sat in the bottom bowl and the crispy noodles on top allowing the noodles to stay crispy for a long time. I am a fan of crispy noodles and I loved the version here. The veggies were beautifully cooked retaining their crunch. There were pieces of mock chicken meat which I didn't try. Spicy noodle soup: all of us loved this dish including the kids. The soup was addictively spicy and the children enjoyed the heat of the dish as well. Again I didn't try the mock meats in it. I was happy eating just the tofu and veggies along with the soup and noodles. Chicken and mushroom fried rice: this came with crispy pieces of garlic and fresh cilantro. The "chicken" in the dish were pieces of fried tofu. The dish was clean tasting and allowed the flavors of garlic and mushroom to shine through. Restaurant is relatively small with a lot of emphasis on the color green. They don't have a lot of parking close to the restaurant and we had to park a couple of blocks away. The walk back to the car felt a bit unsafe as well.

Yelp
I did not like the plaza where it is located. But I sure love their vegetarian foods. Highly recommended their BBQ pork roll.

Yelp
We've been here probably six times and ALWAYS say, "That was soooooo good." Truly, this is one of the best vegan restaurants around, even and especially if you're not vegan. Everything from salads to rice bowls to fried entrees will make your day. Staff is welcoming and will provide suggestions if you're not sure what to order. Parking is a bit snug at this location; don't give up!!

Yelp
Two thumbs up, from two carnivores! If vegetarian food was typically this good, I'd cut out meat in a heartbeat. F2, caramelized roasted pork in clay pot: There's gotta be black magic involved here. They've somehow gotten the pork belly texture spot on -- there's the crunchy roasted edges and corners, the layers of firm meat and silky soft fat, that incredible saucy flavor. It won't pass as pork belly, but it's 100% as satisfying. 5/5 R9, crispy chow mein: this was interesting, veggies and "meat" served atop a bird's nest of deep fried noodles. Again, wouldn't pass as real meat, but somehow the dish was hearty and flavorful. 4.5/5 Between the two, the pork belly was definitely the winner. We'll be back. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Green lotus is a rare gem featuring dozens of incredible wholesome vegetarian dishes! I've tried the pho and spring rolls before, and this time I got the eggplant and rice. The dishes have all been beautifully presented with large portions--plenty for an extra meal from leftovers. As you can see in the photograph the veggies are brightly colored and well seasoned. The eggplant was soft and well cooked, with crispy bell peppers and onions, and the texture of the tofu was excellent. Every dish is bursting with flavor and I always feel good after eating here. There are dozens of options including stir fries, noodles, soups, curries, appetizers, smoothies, and boba. I have always been offered friendly service and the atmosphere is open and clean. Unfortunately this location is next door to a restaurant that was playing extremely loud base while I was eating, so that was a bit unfortunate. Overall, great food, quick and friendly service, and reasonably priced.

Yelp
Best crispy Cho mein out! Heng is the best employee ever, but everyone there is nice. Love them and the food is always consistent. Been going here for 3 years. - customer service = elite - food = elite - portion size = elite Overall it's a great place to go every month, great for dates. Order crispy mushrooms, spicy cha cha, crispy lo mein, or banana flower salad and you'll get buns. You're welcome.

Yelp
Despite being a meat-eater I do regularly try many things out of curiosity, and a Vegan Vietnamese/Thai place piqued my interest. I'll give them credit for having the place pretty clean and for great presentation and service, but I can't help but feel things were generally rather under-seasoned. The food tasted fresh so there was nothing otherwise amiss, but I left somewhat disappointed. We ordered their green lotus sampler platter to try out their spring rolls (which has a lot of rolls, so it's a meal in of itself). The fried rolls tasted fine, but the substitute meat I honestly couldn't really taste and the dipping sauces were rather bland. The fragrance of their substitute fish sauce just didn't have the same potency as what it was trying to mimic. To follow up, we got the Green Lotus Special Hotpot (which came with a vegetable pail and rice noodles, so a solid meal for 2 exactly as advertised) where I ended up feeling a bit more of the same. The substitute meats were all rather tasteless here too. To their credit the texture was remarkably accurate, but fell short otherwise. Broth felt a bit under-seasoned too, up until the very end when the broth had boiled down considerably and a lot of taro had melted into the broth (a happy accident if you will). I imagine actual vegans / vegetarians appreciate this place far more than I do as finding such a place is rather rare, and I'm interested in giving it another try to see if their other dishes are better, but as it stands it came up a decent ways short for me.

Yelp
Yummy food! Kind and prompt service for take-out. I had the spring roll sampler to-go and it was delicious! I wish parking was better but that's all the feedback I have.

Yelp
We absolutely loved the food at this location (if my memory serves me right, this was better than the Story Rd location). We came for an afternoon snack but ended up ordering a whole meal because everything sounded so good. 4 Seasons Appetizer. Basically a sampling platter with a little bit of everything from chewy to crunchy. My favorite was the fermented "pork" which was essentially tofu skin that's slightly chilled. Super refreshing in the mouth on a summer day. Shaken "Beef" over rice. This is what I consider the "boring" choice on the menu. However you can't really go wrong with it. They've really done the "beef" right. Its texture actually tested like meat. This was the gf's favorite. Caramelized "fish" in clay pot. This is supposed to be the vegan version of the caramelized catfish clay pot. We initially expected eggplants in place of the catfish but was taken by surprise to find that it was actually bean curds wrapped in seaweed. The seaweed is what gave it a fishy taste. By the way, look out for the red .. . In terms of the favorite, it was a toss up for me between this and the shaken beef.

Yelp
I really like the food at this place and have take a to-go several times from here. This time I decided to go in and do a dine-in. So I took 2 of my friends with me, and on a Saturday when they close at 8, I reached at 7:15. While they still had 3 open tables, the host denied to sit us because "they were too busy and could only do take-outs". Even though I requested that they can give us in to-go boxes and let us sit, so when it's time to close we will leave, but they denied us the sitting. I don't know if they were "really busy" or was it just not letting me sit. Maybe because I am different? Maybe they should update their servicing hours and also mention what time they stop sitting people, if the food was ready to go by 7:30 pm I still am dumbfounded about why would they deny sitting. Food - 5 star Service/ Hospitality/ Humility/ Professionalism - ZERO

Yelp
I went here with a couple of friends and we ordered takeout but decided to sit outside the restaurant to eat since we didn't want to have to wander too far to find someplace to sit outside; however, the restaurant staff saw that we were there and brought out water to us, which was really nice of them! I ordered a sautee crunchy fish with lemongrass and pepper. I wouldn't say it necessarily was as crunchy as the name suggested. This is a vegetarian and vegan restaurant, and the imitation fish didn't taste that much like fish, but I still liked it a lot since it reminded me of what my parents would cook for me growing up, a kind of fake "fish" fillet or patty that has seaweed wrapped around the exterior. It was quite savory and I enjoyed the lemongrass flavor and the more hard, flaky bits (spices?) that they put around it since I think it made the texture more interesting. It also came with bell peppers and lettuce. My friends tried other dishes, one being a yellow curry and another that contained penne, tofu, fake crab, beef, fish cake, and ham. The yellow curry apparently contained taro in it, and my friend was surprised to get penne since the dish's name mentioned macaroni, but they did say the food was decent. I appreciated their quick and friendly service and their large menu, definitely a good place to try out if you are seeking vegan and vegetarian, mostly Asian dishes.
