"Just east of the palace is the city's vibrant fruit and vegetable market where farmers from the hinterland come to sell fresh produce every day from sunrise to lunchtime. This is where locals stock up on supplies for the family table, ranging from seasonal fruits and vegetables to local prosciutto, nuts and jams. Encircling the market are souvenir and clothing stalls."

A great place to get your fresh fruit and vegetables. The prices aren’t super cheap, but you can be assured the quality is way better than you get in a supermarket. Part of the appeal is the way the locals still use weights for the scales. Recommend the watermelon!!! Beside the market are a number of takeaway stalls where you can get things like hot roast suckling pig cut up and ready for lunch and in the evening there’s even a bar with great wines, wonderful service and very good prices.

Cute local market. Love coming here to see how the local lives and see all the fresh produce. They also have deli and butchers. Not selling seafood as they have a particular market in the old town selling only seafood. Highly recommended for just walking around and see what Croatian fresh market like.

For lunch I go around this place for all kinds of homemade local products and fresh produce. From anchovies to specialty cheeses, with many options to sample. (I recommend taking your meal down to the nearby beach)

It has very little atmosphere but it’s there. A few locals but seems overrun with tourists. I saw some of the smallest artichokes and celeriac that I have ever seen. The stalls are more like rows of tables. Down towards the harbor, there are permanent tourist stalls including many selling linen and summer clothes. 14 euro for a short that costs 40 in a shop in town.

Lot's of locals selling fruit vegetables nuts honey olives from their own garden's. They are really friendly and want you to taste everything. The fruit and figs we bought were wonderful. Go and support the locals and get some amazing tasty fresh produce.

Bright and colourful, vibrant and busy, a lovely farmers market. OK, some of the stall holders obviously by from an importer, but others are clearly genuine local farmers and smallholders. Great place to wander if you're a tourist.

Perhaps this market used to be local, but there are so many tourists there. The pricing certainly seems more for the tourists. I didn’t end up getting anything. But if you’re on a cruise, it is on the way back to the cruise port. Doesn’t hurt to stop by and take a look at some of the nice fruits and vegetables.

A local gem. You can find fresh produce, olive oil, honey, bread and whatnot every day. Everything is top quality. People are warm and nice. Remember to bring cash with you. It is an amazing culture to live if you are visiting Croatia, it is where locals go to do groceries.
