"Just east of the palace is the city's vibrant fruit and vegetable market where farmers from the hinterland come to sell fresh produce every day from sunrise to lunchtime. This is where locals stock up on supplies for the family table, ranging from seasonal fruits and vegetables to local prosciutto, nuts and jams. Encircling the market are souvenir and clothing stalls."
Mixed feelings. Paid over the odds, small punnet of cherries and 1 flat peach €7, then €3.50 for 1 beef tomato and 1 small garlic - both were male sellers. The woman seemed more fair , homemade olive oil €4 and 2 peaches €1.50. The fish market was good, €12 for 1 kilo of fresh bought prawns which were insanely delicious.

Cute local market. Love coming here to see how the local lives and see all the fresh produce. They also have deli and butchers. Not selling seafood as they have a particular market in the old town selling only seafood. Highly recommended for just walking around and see what Croatian fresh market like.

Be very careful when purchasing! They will try to push you rotten fruit and veggies. Ask the price first and make sure that they don’t bag stuff that you haven’t checked before. The price of most produce is higher than the grocery store. So pity to feel cheated because otherwise it is a nice market with lost of fresh produce.

Get the fresh fruits, orange juice and local grilled meat. Also souvenirs are affordable here compared to everywhere else.

Fantastic market.
Full of fresh fruit and veg.
Other markets are nearby clothes and fish.
Great little place, I didn't buy anything as I didn't need any fresh ingredients, but seeing fresh food in its finest bursting with colour and smells always intrigues me.
Lots of locals there too buying there fruit that's always a good sign.

Big choice of fresh fruits, berries, vegetables, oils, souvenirs, toys, water shoes and more.
However, one day in one souvenir shop price was quoted 5 euros, next day for the same item - 3 euros. Not sure if honest mistake, or random prices on purpose.

Nice local market with a large selection of fruit and veg. Many stalls not priced so always best to ask price before you select. You can see that some market stalls are locals trying to sell their home grown produce which is nice. Some stall holders can be a little pushy, but definitely worth a wander around
