Green Parrot

We rented out the back patio for our son's 1st birthday party, and it couldn't have turned out better. Dave, the manager, and his staff were right there for anything and everything we needed. They even let my wife come early in the morning to decorate the space. The food was great and the service was top notch. Would highly recommend using them for an event!

We were in the area for a Track and Field Invitational and wanted to grab lunch. We did a quick search and I came across the Green Parrot. It looked right up our alley and I'm so glad we came to check it out! The atmosphere, food and service were all great! I wish we didn't live as far away, because it's definitely a place we'd go to again! If we are ever in the area again, we will be sure to stop back in!

We were very pleased with the entire experience. Wife got chicken cheesestreak, and I got a turkey Rachel both were so good. Their mozzarella sticks are delicious and crispy with marinara that was excellent. Really cool sports bar, TVs for watching Phillies and/or eagles. Very clean, well organized and waitress was really good.

In town briefly and was able to stop by this establishment - it was such a great experience. The location is perfect - atmosphere also perfect. Just a great time to be had. We stopped by on a Tuesday night. Here are some pictures and I need to note … my friend loved that shrimp taco! Not sure the sauce on it but so so good!

I love coming to the Green Parrot for their chicken wings — they’re seriously delicious! I always get mine all flats, mild, extra extra crispy, and they come out perfect every time. A lot of places say they’ll make them crispy, but it’s hit or miss. Not here — they get it right! Their blue cheese is also just how I like it — not chunky, more on the liquidy side, which is perfect for dipping. The bartenders are usually the same two guys, and they’re great. Super consistent, the food comes out fast, and the drinks are strong and well-made. They sometimes have live music, which makes for a fun vibe. It’s definitely a sporty bar with a good crowd and lots of TVs — perfect for catching a game. Always a great time!

Great place! The food was excellent as well as the service. I had the salmon blt, never heard of it so I had to try it. Grilled salmon, crispy bacon, avocado and lettuce and tomato. Sounds weird but was amazing. My wife had the lemon chicken salad and loved it. We’re going back for sure!

My wife and I live about 90 minutes away but make a point to come down twice a year because of how excellent your food, service, and atmosphere is. We have never been even slightly disappointed. The salmon is the BEST I have ever had at any restaurant. The owner Bob is a hands on involved owner who always makes sure all is well. We LOVE the Green Parrot! p.s. We love sitting next to the awesome fireplace!

Brunch with the Grinch was fabulous! The decorations really created an amazing atmosphere, and the drink list was super festive!

The service was pretty great. I enjoyed my freshly brewed iced tea. And my crabcake was one of the best I've ever had. It tasted fresh and the meat was plump ! It looks like the bar is very popular. I was seated in a nice booth ! Bathroom was tidy and cute

This place is always consistently good! Came in on a busy Saturday about 630p. Got 4 meals and some apps to go and it looked and tasted as awesome as if I had it at the restaurant. Staff is awesome and super quick!

Airy, upbeat atmosphere for fun and food with friends. Menu with many options and a nod to Ireland. The colcannon is the best I've had. (I rice my potatoes to make mashed potatoes to my bar is high.) shout out to B. Smith for her exceptional service. We were a handful and she managed us beautifully. Desserts were as great as dinner!

Lively restaurant conveniently located, with lots of parking. Service was top notch, drinks and food were fresh and fun. Made it there for a happy hour - lots of choices at wonderfully low prices. Nice to have an option in this economy where we can eat somewhere good and not break the grocery bank for the week! Themed nights make it fun - taco Tuesday had great options - I'm so glad I got the shrimp it was outrageous. The Bavarian pretzel comes with the yummiest dipping sauces - a beer cheese and some mustard. Wonderful restaurant to go with friends or the whole family. You can choose to sit in the bar area for a more lively sport themed atmosphere or the dining room for less of the bar vibe. Overall great restaurant in Newtown

A good hangout spot with decent food. When I come here, it's usually with family to watch whatever sport game is on that day. Service is always friendly and quick. Definitely a solid spot for a quick bite to eat or a sports bar.

Came on a Sunday around noon. Fun bar area with ample seating, high tops, and tvs. Separate dining room (with a working fireplace) and an enclosed patio area. We enjoyed a spicy Bloody Mary, draft beer and buffalo shrimp (grilled and tossed in sauce, not breaded). Our server was polite and knowledgeable. Decent selection of craft beer. Standard pub fare. Biggest negative is the limited vegetarian options. No veggie burger, offered a turkey burger instead. And no standard veggie pizza, but there is a meat lovers pizza. Adding these 2 items would go a long way IMO. Like 50% of wine bottles under $100 on Sundays. They also have a taco Tuesday and Thursday burger night (just don't expect to go and get a veggie burger.)

A great venue for listening to good music and just hanging out with new and old friends at the bar. Next time I come back I'll try the food.

I attended a baby shower today at the green parrot. The staff was attentive. The food was amazing and the private space was just beautiful. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a fun night out with great atmosphere, or for any private event. Great job.

My son and I had a great dinner (I recommend the Southwest Chicken Salad) here last weekend with friendly, attentive service capped off by staff going the extra mile in the days that followed: I left my credit card in the folder and they promptly mailed it off to me at my request. Thank you, Green Parrot.

Drinks are Delicious! I love going here for the drink menu alone! Food and service has always been good. It may be a little tricky to go and just sit at the bar because it's always packed. Nice friendly atmosphere.

Visited this establishment on 6/17/2023. Although the service was fine, the food was absolutely dreadful. The burger was ordered as medium and was delivered as well done with the bacon not thoroughly cooked. The fish and chips looked and tasted like something you would get from the frozen food isle of the grocery store and was not good at all. The bacon/cheese/avocado quesadilla had sour cream poured all over it and the very small portion of avocado was not ripe so was inedible. Extremely disappointing dining experience. Would not recommend at all.

Sooooo noisy. Lunch with 5 of us in the main dining room next to the bar and we seemed to be shouting to carry on a conversation. The restaurant is nice had a decent crowd on a very rainy day but the noise was from the music and the room not having proper sound proofing. It was no busier than any other restaurant at lunch. It is definitely a high energy kinda place. However, the noise level alone would stop me from a return visit. Our server (Nicole) was sweet and wanted to please. She was right on. Manager came over at the end. Seemed like a nice guy. We saw him running food to many tables and doing his best to keep everyone happy. He mentioned that getting staff has been difficult. We wouldn't have noticed bc Nicole was really good. She didn't forget a thing and her timing was just fine. Plates being served all had large portions and looked good from afar. I chose the turkey burger with Brie and jam. My first bite was horrible. I spit it out bc I thought it was a meat burger. (I don't eat red meat). Everyone at my table thought it was a meat burger. Waitress came over and thought same but quickly realized it was a turkey burger and mentioned it is a darker turkey. I picked at it and ate it but I do not recommend it...nor would I get it again. I thought it was the worst turkey burger I have ever had. It had a strange spice taste too...like a mild sausage and yet that still does not describe it. I was sorry I ordered it. My 2 friends ordered the French dip sandwich...it was huge. They each took half home and seemed to enjoy it. Salads were large as well. My friend gave me the avocado from her salad and it was horrible. Hard as could be...I could not bite into it. That too was disappointing. I would describe the food as being quantity but not quite quality. It has been a long time since my last visit here and I am pretty sure it will be a while for my next one as well. I need time to forget although, there are quite a few outside tables and I can see doing that. I gave 3 stars based on our service and the manager being visible and doing his best but obviously from my review the food...well...it is what it is.

Mozzarella sticks came to the table and were cold. Took a bit of two of them to make sure it wasn't just one.. I told our waitress they were cold and she took them and said "no problem." Then she came back with the same ones!! Wow!! Talk about awful presentation and disgusting looking food. I've worked in the industry for years and I would never take this to a table!! It wouldn't even make it to a plate!! I know how much they cost; make a new batch! For the cost of 3 orders you paid off the cost of a box!!And nope! You cannot throw back in the deep fryer half a mozzarella stick and serve it again. Come on!!! Talked to the manager and he could really care less. He said "fine, I'll just take them off your bill. Anything else?" Soo Rude!!! I was shocked! We were 4 and, for sure, we won't be back! The loaded fried were bad too. Very Soggy fries! Sycamore Grill, across the street, has much better food and great service!

Food-fine. Ambience-whatever. Service-ratchet. Two Black Friday nights in a row my friends and I have come to this establishment to get some drinks and catch up while we're all in town. The bartenders' service is awful. One female bartender in particular services only the 20 something men and nobody else. Like please. It's the same slow service and blatant/weird flirting two years in a row and we won't be back. These people need to get a grip. 5-6 bartenders should be enough to get people served without having to make aggressive gestures to get your attention. -A fellow food service worker

Absolutely love this place the attention the double sided fireplace makes the place feel so cozy the food is superb!! My friend and I are regulars and can't say enough of the protocols this establishment follows 5 star in cleanness!!! Bob Maddie both goes above and beyond to make your experience here an unforgettable one.

The drinks looked so pretty, but we couldn't taste the difference between the watermelon basil margarita and the watermelon mint mojito. We drank them and ate the decorative fruits. Overall Chill vibes. Definitely worth the visit.

food was horrible, and I'm not hard to impress. service was worse, the waitress rolled her eyes everytime she would come to the table and honestly we were 4 calm, non needy adults. I'm not saying that to complain and be a "Karen" I'm saying it to spare you, your money and time.

I really like the ambiance of this bar. Food isn't very good but that isn't the reason to go to a place like this. The reason for 3 stars is because the live music is outrageously loud to the point that I can't hear the person next to me and my ears are in literal pain. They feel like they're bleeding. The relief my ears feel when the band takes a 30 second break between songs cannot be overstated. It's really a shame because I think it's a nice ambiance with the TV's and large room, but the live music ruins it every time. The guests I'm with feel the same way.

Unsanitary and undercooked food. Will not come back. Please be careful of your health and well being when attending this establishment.

We have never had a bad meal here. The food and service is always good. I love that they do military discount. Being a navy mom when my son comes home we will bring him there. It's definitely worth trying.

I give them 3 stars for effort. Went there for the brunch w the grinch. They made a nice effort to try and do a nice thing. But very unorganized. My whole table got their food while I waited with the baby. When I got in line to get my food I was told to sit down because the line was to long due to a fire hazzard. I was told they would come get me shortly. They never did. I asked my server if I could go back. She finally let me go back up.... after everyone at my table was almost done eating.

I've been to this place a few times, a group of people, with my partner, with family, gave it a few tries. The Bar, amazing!!!! The signatures drinks are always so tasty and crafty, props to them on that and the bartenders for delivery! But the food, is outdated, mostly all fried food, there's some decent, edible items on the menu. But the server staff that I had Saturday afternoon on June 4, HORRIBLE! I do not know the girls name, I have seen her a few times, but never had her as a server and I can see why! She was horrible, rude, constantly sitting down in a corner booth with another older lady and a guy, talking away, neglecting us. The food was horrible, she didn't come and ask if we were okay, we sat and waited for the check, dishes left on the table and nothing cleared. I checked around at other tables from the other servers and it seemed to be the same way with all of them. I suggest you get better and more attentive staff then people who sit around and neglect your guests! You would do so much better with a better staff and a menu update!

It's a bar. It's what you'd expect a bar in Newtown, PA to be. No better, no worse. There's a good number of older folks here, as in middle aged, fully aged, and then a few tipsy frat bros outside. There are many TVs in this place. There's also an additional room in the back that can be closed off for a private party. The food was decent relative to standard bar food ... pizza, buffalo wings, nachos. All pretty standard and went decently well with the beer, of which there is a decent selection on tap. It's all standard, and it's all decent. The staff is exceptionally kind and courteous though. I'm not sure when or under what circumstance I'd return. But it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world.

The service was decent- it took a while for them to come to us to take our orders but other than that, it was fine. My friend got vodka rigatoni with side of fries while I got one of the two specials that they offered that day (11/22/2019). The special was pork chops. However, what I got in reality compared to the description was pretty poor. The special dish looked and tasted very cheaply put together and honestly, did not seem worth it. On the other hand, the vodka rigatoni was pretty good. I would not order the special again and get something else from the menu if I was to come back.

Blech! Unless you like warm beer and bad food....... Pass on the Green Parrot, Here's an idea, go across the street like we did, The Sycamore Grill. More adult, better food and better service.

Tried Green Parrot tonight. Sadly the food just wasn't good. I'm disappointed because the menu is fantastic but the delivery not so much. I have no photos off the food which is odd but it was that non memorable. My friend and I split the pear and beet salad and the philly egg rolls because the waitress suggested them. The dressing served with the salad was a very thick balsamic. It was strong and poorly mixed. Most of the lettuce was dry. Fresh goat cheese would have been so much better and spread out instead of the fried medallion. There was just not much to it for the price. The egg roll meat was good but the outside was so burnt that you couldn't eat it as an egg roll. One a positive note, The bar was pretty happening. If i return I'll be sticking with drinks and pretzels. We saw a huge pretzel being served. Definitely should have ordered that.

Meh. The host was great. The waitress was not. Straight and to the point, but I expected more. Not the worst French onion soup I ever had, but very very close to it. The happy hour special were bad. $2 whopping dollars off frozen mozzarella sticks, $5 for 6oz of house wine.... I expected more from this local spot since there are many higher end rivals very very close by. Dinner was appealing and tasty. Hefty portions of pasta and tacos earned this 3 stars instead of 2. But I probably will not go back.

Something's changed about the quality here Enjoyable, nice atmosphere plus very nice waitress but really disappointed in the food today . The Bavarian pretzel, a family favorite just seemed different; not quite as flavorful more just like a big lump of tasteless pretzel pretzel.Not happy . First time ordering the potato soup oh, it was good but it was more like a big bowl of mashed potatoes with some cheese and bacon accents. Not quite sure we're going to order this again . Maybe just an off day in the kitchen?

Dan, AJ, Jack, Alexis, Nicky, Tabitha, + Kaylyn are the most wholesome bar staff I've ever met. Between the high quality drinks, the extensive food menu, and the live music The Green Parrot is "THE BAR" in Newtown. You won't get more genuine service anywhere in the area. Stop by and check them out on my reccomendation; you will not be disappointed.

Good food, large portions (based on the nachos I got) and good beer. In all I would for sure come back! I also don't think that I've seen this many people in the entirety of the town. This bar was packed almost all night on a Thursday.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. I had the French onion soup (delicious) my husband had the Caesar salad & ribs. Both very good. Great service. There are outdoor areas a patio and indoor ( with social distancing). If you're in the area I'd definitely check it out. We will go back.

I love the Green Parrot. It's a place that makes you happy to be here. Excellent bar. Terrific menu. Awesome staff. One of our "go to" places because it never disappoints. Something and someplace for everyone. Family friendly in the dining room and comfortable bar with 11 Big Screens for games. I'd love to shake the Owners hand. He does lots of work for/in the Community. Not sure always appreciated, including a fabulous St Patrick's Day Festival which brings a TON of business into Newtown. Kudos to a successful, awesome, clean, well run established Restaurant, Sir!

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE The Green Parrot Newtown! Great food and drinks! Amazing customer service! The bartenders, Nick, Paul, Donna, Kaylyn are second to none! Of course they're led by the GOAT, Bobby Lutz! Definitely check it out, you won't be disappointed!

One of the best restaurants around. Even during the height of Covid, the service was excellent and food was delicious. The servers are great, always get the order right the first time. So glad we found this place!

My friend and I came here one day for their happy hour. We had to ask for the happy hour menu since it wasn't available. I got the cheesesteak egg rolls which were really good. I ordered one of their signature cocktails, which was not good at all, and they overcharged me for it. The food was good the place was nice but I wasn't very happy during their happy hour.

Ended up here on a whim, and perfect timing to enjoy happy hour specials. Enjoyed the chili nachos, steak fajitas and clams. All very tasty, and the nachos portion was surprisingly large for a happy hour special (above expectations). Next time I go, must try one of their desserts that sounded delicious (TBD).

Finally stopped in, by design this time, for dinner after a day of shopping (a necessary evil at this time of year). The place was packed and we wanted to sit in the bar area - got lucky and snagged the last table. Great atmosphere and many, many TVs so you could watch any game. Eagles/Patriots had prime space and there were a lot of Eagle's fans all around me. The beer selection is pretty good and they rotate it, I am told, on a regular basis. I chose a Flight (4 beers) for $7. The server (Danielle) was personable and knew enough about the beers to give me some guidance. Wine was 50% off for a bottle so my wife got a bottle and brought most of it home. Our meal was just basic so we both went with burgers - Jalapeno and cheese burger and a bleu cheese burger. Both were cooked to order and the fries were excellent. The table next to ours ordered wings and they looked great - need to try them next time.

Great place to enjoy some good food and watch the games. Not recommended during sports events. The fans are loud so the noise travels to the dining area. If your looking for a quiet place this is not for you.

Seriously it's time to go under new management. Food has always been sub par. Decent beers on tap and good bar staff but such a great location deserves better food. Pizza is meh , wings come out dry with little sauce, etc. I gave it another try after being disappointed almost 5 years ago and was reminded why I never go there.

Great staff and mediocre food but the prices are not ridiculous, they did seat us in a dining room without AC...when i asked about i was asked if we wanted to sit on the patio...we walked out to the patio and it was half empty and completely air conditioned. beware the lack of AC, sit in the patio to begin with. The Crab cake egg rolls were "meh" but the watermelon bbq ribs were very good. again, the waitress and everyone else was friendly and helpful. also great parking...and Guinness on tap!

My family and I were really excited to eat at the Green Parrot because of its cool vibes and great location! The hostess was incredibly friendly, & we only had about a 5 minute wait to sit in the outside porch area. The food we ordered was pretty good, & the prices are a little pricey compared to the average Joe restaurants. However, the service we received was unsatisfactory. Our waitress probably met with us twice, & we never had our drinks refilled. We had to stop a different waitress after we waited at least 15 minutes for our check. I don't know if our waitress got burdened with a bunch of other tables on the other side of the restaurant, but all we know is that the service was poor and the food was decent. I gave it a 2 and not a 1 because the food was decent, & the hostess was accommodating at first. Maybe I'd give it another go if I'm in that area.

Yes, 1 star... Pros: (because it's best to start with something positive) 1. The Gingerbreadman Tini was d-e-licious!! 2. The cheesesteak eggrolls were tasty could have used a little seasoning but was the best out of everything else we ordered. Cons: 1. The Manager - Madelyn - we never complain or send back food but the service all the way around was horrendous. We ordered the Shepards Pie and it came out in a tall bowl and had 1/8inch of mashed potatoes, past that it looked like stew. The "meat" was watery. I wish I had taken a picture but it was awful. We asked the server to please have this removed from the check (again never sent food back, but it was awful). The manager came over and said -what's the matter, you don't like it? We said no, this isn't Shepards pie, this is a stew of some sort and there isn't any mashed potatoes in it. The manager began to challenge us and literally said I can see potato in there (this was after it was mixed around trying to find potato) and then got extremely defensive and said this is how we do our Shepards pie. We said we aren't going to eat it so please take it back. She said fine I'll bring you out something else - we said no thank you please just take the item off the check. She was so unprofessional - I too am a manager and I had raised eyebrows from the first moment she spoke with complete attitude. I wanted to catch her after everyone in my party went outside but I was not able to - I am hoping she reads this and learns. This was a completely unfavorable experience and she put the cherry on it with her unprofessionalism. 2. Prior to us complaining about the Shepards pie one person in our party of 5 ordered a beer and was told 10 minutes later that it was out - so he ordered a different kind. Then that same person ordered the Banger & Mash and was told another 10 minutes later that was sold out. 3. Again, prior to the Shepards Pie experience - we ordered a French Onion Soup and a Potato Soup - our meals came out but the soup never did - we asked to have this removed from our checks 4. I ordered the 1/2 rack ribs - they were very dry but the kettle chips were good. My friend who was turned down for two items settles for fish and chips and the fried fish was soggy and absolutely flavorless. My husband ordered the Rueben and his bread fell right apart and it was basically lunchmeat. 1 of our friends ordered a burger and said that was delicious - thank goodness. And then the Shepards pie. I know times are tough with employees - but good gracious we got there before it was even busy (5:30ish) and it just spiraled out of control. 5. We would have had more drinks but we sat through our meal without any refills.

Worst service ever!! Food 2 out of 5 ( we ordered mussels most of them were empty, they didn't bring water at all) Service 0 of 5 !! Waitress didn't listen us, we waited for our check 30 min . I NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!

First real summer day of the year, meant I was looking for outdoor seating and some chilled moscato to enjoy. We landed at the Green Parrot despite a yelp search recommending the place across the street. The ambiance at the bar was definitely 40's and 30's locals. There are a ton of tvs all over the place and lots of drinks to choose from. My beau and I opted for the outside seating since we wanted to have dinner. We ordered some wine and then picked the two most random plates. Irish Nachos, which are usually some of my favorite, but here they are made with waffle fries and I pretty much am bias to having them with kettle chips. The toppings were huge, good guacamole, chili, cheese, sour cream. The horseradish gives the chili a strange taste for me, so although I didn't hate these, I didn't love them. The portion is of typical nachos and can easily feed 4 people. The Bangers and Mashed plate was surprisingly my favorite of the night. This is two large chicken apple sausage fire roasted over mashed potatoes and smothered in caramelized onions. I am a sucker for a good mashed potato and if you throw in some caramelized onions, it's a wrap. What I was surprised about was how much I enjoyed the chicken sausage, it had great flavor and felt like a hearty meal. Although I must admit I'm surprised the plate goes for $15. Overall it was nice to sit outside and eat overlooking the street, sadly there is not much people watching going on in Newtown at 9 PM. Overall, I would return and enjoy more of the bar scene, since it seemed pretty lively.

I ordered a shrimp dish and knew immediately the shrimp was bad. It has a whiteish color and a rancid smell. The manager came out to tell me the shrimp had just been delivered. How could the chef not know from the color the shrimp was bad. Then I ordered the hummus appetizer. It was inedible.

It's Saturday night, date night, and we wanted to try some place new. The Green Parrot. 1st, the staff, including the manager were absolutely fantastic. Our server Mia, greeted us with a smile and a very pleasant attitude. My wife ordered the chicken quesadilla and I ordered the bacon cheeseburger. I never get my burger cooked the way I like, but I will say the staff in the kitchen knew how to make a burger medium done. It was juicy and probably the best burger I have had in years. The atmosphere was great, the staff are very friendly and the food is perfect. We will definitely be spending some more date nights here.

What a shit place. We have been going there for 15+ years and now needing a legal support animal we were turned away ...even explaining the situation. Fuck you guys we will never patronize any of your businesses in the Keys. Thanks for all the support of needed things. Go to hell.
