The Green Post Review - Lincoln Square - Chicago - The Infatuation

"The Green Post is a welcoming Lincoln Square pub that’s open all day. It’s common to find people hanging out and eating some pastries in the morning, or friends crammed into a booth, sharing rarebit and a steak and ale pie over pints of Guinness. But the best seats are the comfy chairs right by the fireplace. Situated right by a framed map of the UK, it's a great place to relax and dive into some Dubliners." - John Ringor

Just reopened after a very intensive refurbishment, a lot of quality work has gone into this venue and it shows, very impressive. A lovely manager with a great team working with him to make this pub extremely welcoming. Food delicious and expertly prepared. Many televisions inside and out, interactive dart boards and pool table.

I live next door to Green Posts, so every Monday I come in for steak and ale pie and a soft drink. Monday’s at work are crap and exhausting, so it’s nice to get back from work and have something cooked for me. It’s always a nice, relaxed atmosphere, and service is prompt. The steak and ale pie here is better than anywhere else, they do the large slice instead of a whole pie. So there’s more filling and less pasty, perfect. I hope they never change it and always stick to the slice. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and there’s never any trouble here. Plenty of TVs dotted around and various sports to watch. I love how they rearranged it and the pool table now how much more room to play, plus a couple of well illuminated dart boards to play on. It’s the perfect place for a bit of food and sports, even if you’re not having a drink.

The recent refurb looks great. The staff as ever are really welcoming. The new manager George is a breath of fresh air, very professional and friendly. A decent pint at a good price.

First time in here since the refurb. The place looks great, friendly and relaxed atmosphere at lunchtime. Really clean, which really adds to it, food was great and fast friendly service, little bit lacking on any ales or real beers, hopefully they'll be in at some point.

There was confusion with the order at first as the tables had been moved around and the waitress did not know where to deliver the food, but we didn’t wait too long and it was nice when it arrived. Build your own burger for £5 on a Wednesday was excellent value.

What a transformation of the pub, lovely decor, new seating arrangements, all so very lovely. We booked a table & had an evening meal. The food was good & lovely and hot. Staff are very helpful too.

My first time visiting in a very long time, and I must saying there is a massive improvement, across all bases! George the new manager is doing an incredible job, felt very welcome as soon as I walked through the door! The atmosphere in there is 10 timers better than it used to be! I'll 100% recommend to anyone. Will most certainly be visiting again!
