This is a fun quirky place. We randomly found it on Maps and decided to give it a try and we were not disappointed at all! 🥹 The place is hip and you can spend a lot of time here as each table has fun games (mostly taro cards, spell books, witchcraft and magic). Their selection of teas and herbs for sale is large and I got a few blends to try myself. The menu has a large vegan and vegetarian option that I loved. I got chorizo breakfast wrap and my friend got an egg and bacon sandwich. 10/10 for both However, the drinks were 🔥. I got the summer special ‘John and Yoko’ and it 10/10. My friend got the Pacific glow smoothie and it was 12/10. 💯 recommend to try this. Vibe 9/10 Food 10/10 Drinks 12/10 🎉 Cost $$ I would love to come back and try their hot cocoa next time. Highly recommend this place 🫶

Google
Friendly, funky, and humble breakfast and lunch place. This is not where you take your fussy friend. This is where you take your fun friend. Counter order and retrieve your food, but both indoor and outdoor seating. It got pretty busy and figuring out where the line started/ended got a little confusing. But everyone was good humored and we loved it. Portions were generous.

Google
Love the avocado toast! Enjoyed the matcha green tea with cane sugar and soy milk. Chai was pretty good.

This place is just awesome! I'm usually not this complimentary about food places but I really can't fault the Green Salmon. Well done everyone there! My breakfast this morning...

Google
One of the most lovely vegan cafes on the 101. Proper veg Ruben and a cabinet of vegan pastries with local seasonal fruit. Wonderful little gem if you happen across it. Staff was funny and ample outside seating. Hope to cross you lot again.

It’s the little things that go a long way. And this little spot in Yachats is my go to breakfast, coffee, lounge spot. The ingredients are fresh, savory, healthy, and plant-based. The drinks are creative, flavorful, and delicious. Kid friendly, dietary delectable. The eclectic staff and customers are a highlight of any Coastal trip.

A place to indulge your free spirit and your love of nature. The Green Salmon is ethically sustainable, and holistically nourishes people in whimsical, yummy, ways that are off the beaten path. Be prepared for a mind altering experience, and great coffee and food!

Google
Oh boy do I love this place. It's so cute and quirky, first of all, but also the food/drink is bomb. I got the chorizo breakfast wrap, which turned out to be my favorite breakfast wrap I've ever eaten, I think. The coffee was delicious and I also got two cookies to go. I meant to save one for a friend but I liked the first one so much that I ate the second one, too. Also, they have an amazing selection of their very own tea blends! The packaging for them is adorable, too. My favorite blend has pomegranate, hibiscus, and mint. I can't wait to visit Yachats again so I can come back here and get another wrap along with a bunch of other treats. Yum.

Yelp
The atmosphere and vibe is rustic, cozy, and unique. While waiting in line there are items you can browse that fit with that overall theme. I was just wanting something warm to drink after beachcombing and went with the hot cocoa made with your choice of milk and their vegan whipped cream. As a non-vegan I couldn't tell the difference, it was delicious! Would return to try food in the future!

Yelp
I really like this place. The coffee is excellent and almost without compare. What disappointed me this time is that they've changed their merchandise, and removed many items. The low-carb menu items are sort of gone, too. I tried a fruity scone that turned out to be mostly tasteless and full of sulphited fruits-- which give some people a reaction. The place has gone to the tourists and seems like it's decaying. Nonetheless, where it really counts, The Green Salmon has some of the best coffee on the West Coast-- which for my recommendation, takes a lot of work and skillful roasting. For coffee, you cannot go wrong. It is *superior*.

Yelp
I really like this spot and my wife positively loves it. We've been here a few times. The drinks are great; I really enjoyed my peach oolong tea. The folks working here are very nice and friendly. It's fairly rustic but it feels authentic here. Can be a bit of a wait so keep that in mind. If you like a lox bagel give the vegan caviar one a try. I had heard of this seaweed based caviar substitute and was intrigued; it was pretty good on its own but all together with the other accoutrements it was fantastic.

Yelp
Wow, what a beautiful vegan gem on our road trip. Everything was picture perfect, tasted amazing, and had us smiling all day afterward. We will be back when in town!! Wish I lived closer!!

Yelp
During my most recent weekend in Yachats, The Green Salmon was my favorite business I visited during those 48 hours. I had breakfast here on both weekend mornings. I feel like the best way to explain why I love it here is to post a bullet point list. Here you go: - As soon as you walk in there is a land recognition message for the Indigenous Peoples of this area. - The pastries are not only massive in size and yumminess, they are all plant based?!? During my visits I had their maple croissant, almond croissant, and the blueberry/lemon scone. All exceptional. - They are a tarot card store at the same time of being a cafe. I'm not really into tarot but the cards at each table provided nice entertainment while we nomed. - I ordered their breakfast sandwich with the tofu scramble on an everything bagel for both mornings. yum. yum yum. - On Saturday morning we were able to order and get a table with no problem. However, on Sunday, I believe due to the farmers market, there was a line out the door to order. It was a bit of a wait. But well worth it.

Yelp
I truly can't say enough good things about the place! The food is amazing. We were there for a quick trip and we literally ate there every morning. Great merchandise great people the ambience is cozy and charming.. can't wait to go back

Yelp
Unfortunately I'm no longer interested in dining at this restaurant. My experience wasn't the greatest, and I hope other people would be more aware about the poor quality of food being served at this restaurant.
google avatar

Marc K.

Yelp
The restaurant is located right beside Hwy 101, so if you're coming here slow down even more so you can see ahead of time to turn in. Parking space is available on both sides of the building. Inside is very small town feel, rustic, very Yachats vibe. Customer service is very accommodating, welcoming, the cashier answers a lot of questions regarding local favorite foods & beverages, and what to do around their neighborhood. I ordered the Neptune Bagel Plate, I took pictures of the specific ingredients, and the food. Just wait to you see my picture of the food. It was absolutely delicious, refreshing, filling, and overall healthy. I highly recommend it when you get here

Yelp
Mainly Vegan and vegetarian lunch options like wraps and sandwiches. Delicious choices of smoothies, coffees and teas. Order at the counter and your name will be called when it is ready. We split a wrap with avocado, cucumber, tomatoes and microgreens, with chips and olives. It was delicious. We also had an orange cranberry scone which was huge and filling and yumm. My coffee with sprinkle of black salt over some whipped cream and. Cocoa was amazing. Very pleased indeed.

Yelp
I'm not vegan but thought I'd give this coffee/cafe a shot since it's next door to the thrift stores I frequent. The service was great. Warm, friendly, fast. A friend of mine is in a clean diet and was ecstatic to have an opportunity to splurge and keep on her healthy journey. I went with my usual coffee, (vegan) creamer and raw sugar. The two additions to my coffee were new and I'm not quite sure if I liked it. I finished it, so it wasn't revolting. I'll have to give it a second try and maybe get more adventurous with my order. The food looked amazing and good portion sizes, so I fully intended to head back for lunch. They're closed Tuesday and Wednesday, so it'll have to wait until Thursday.

Yelp
Pulled into the parking lot randomly because I liked the name and we were looking for a place to pick up coffee and a quick to go breakfast. The interior is inviting in an old school wood paneled diner way with earthy-hippie vibes. I loved the decorations with mushrooms and other forest-like figurines. The menu is filled with vegetarian and vegan friendly options. We only picked up scones, they were large and delicious, but I saw some breakfast plates come out of the kitchen window and regretted not having time for a sit down meal. Staff is efficient and friendly. Coffee to go was good. Overall a solid stop when visiting Yachats.

Yelp
Visited Yachats for the first time today and tried out this adorable cafe. The vibes in here are unbeatable - tarot cards and trinkets galore!! I ordered the Shroom Hot Chocolate and it did NOT disappoint. Not only was it creamy and tasty but it contained 14 different medicinal mushrooms with various benefits. It came out super quick and I enjoyed it by the water, which is within walking distance to the cafe!

Yelp
Beware, .... Well, I've been coming to Green Salmon from Florence for sometime now always have their pastry which is impeccable. I had a birthday December 23. Thought I would check out one of their breakfasts which I had an omelette and a cold brew coffee both of which were the worst things that ever went into my mouth, the first thing was a cold brew in a 16 ounce beer glass that tasted like coffee that has been sitting too long not sure if it was just regular coffee chilled cause it took him over a half an hour to get to me. Second was the omelette it took over 30 minutes to get to me. No one was in the café at all to speak of when it came. It was crusty steaming hot, where I couldn't even eat it for at least five minutes or more it was terrible. I complained to the lady at the cash register who really has no personality at all told me this, she said well. Our cook doesn't speak Spanish sorry it turned out bad. At that time I said I would like to be comped for this, she says oh I don't know how to comp your meal so I left and started my 74 Birthday off on a very bad note although they have great pastry. I will never step foot in that dive again. Absolutely stay away from any cooked foods in green salmon and never order a cold brew. They are nasty day.

Yelp
My absolute favorite local coffee, restaurant, and hangout. Great people, great food and best coffee. My favorite is their scones and coconut mocha.
google avatar

Beth D.

Yelp
My partner and I always make it a point to stop here when we're in town. We can't get enough of their breakfast sandwich with tofu or their maple croissants. If there's not a line, the staff is super friendly, otherwise they're focused on providing quick and efficient service. Until next time... Cheers!

Yelp
Not our first time here, although the first time since they went all vegan. The food is delicious and I didn't miss the animal products.

Yelp
Usually we recommend this place. But, it's usually over crowded and slow. But, we expect that. My wife and I were at the counter. She ordered a breakfast sandwich and a coffee. I said I'll have the same sandwich and a different coffee. We paid and sat down. However, I realized that I likely hadn't paid enough. For some reason the person behind the counter hadn't punched in my order right and didn't ring up my sandwich OR drink. I was pretty mad since we were in sort of a hurry. They didn't seem to care, though. She just run me up for the extra items and put them in line with everything else. Behind my wife's order. That's not great service. Also, they pretty much still have the pandemic seating in there. Get RID of the huge booths and let people socialize again. The pandemic is over. I'm all for safety, but, it's really over. I'm not reviewing the food since we didn't take pics. But, the sandwiches were good, but a bit eggy...like too much. The coffee is always great there!

Yelp
It was so nice to know that everything they served there was vegan. Had the taco salad. Was really good. My husband had the Reuben sandwich. I think he thought mine was better.

Yelp
Ive lived in Yachats 12 years and have eaten there twice. Both dreadful. Last time was a pastrami sandwich. Took one bite. Like shoe leather. Walked over to the trash can and raked plate's contents into it and walked out.

Yelp
A reply from the owner of this icon made me rethink my harsh criticism. Maybe it was harsh. It really is a great place in Yachats. Then I noticed another thing that is totally and completely awesome: an honor system coffee pot. Someone (the owner) gets up early even on days when they aren't open to put out an airpot of coffee and tasty treats for people come enjoy on the honor system ON THE DAYS THEY ARE NOT OPEN. This is huge. Awesome. Total community service. My apologies for being grumpy about not having a ceramic cup (I can bring my own) or for a not-quite-as-good-as-I-thought-it-should-be pastry. This place is legit and serves the community. Thank you Green Salmon.

Emmett Facilities C.

Yelp
We have been vacationing in Yachats for 15+ years and a huge draw is this wonderful business. Adrian is a coffee roasting master and Deb is the vision behind this magical stop along the 101. Her pastries are unmatched. I have not found one that I don't just love. You must try them. Thank you to the fun and funky staff for always making our trip more delicious. We will see you next summer if not earlier. If you need a recommendation on a quick breakfast try the Cafe Hawaiian and a maple pastry. If you are there for lunchtime, try the sacred cow. Tell them hey, from Jodie and Wendy.

Yelp
My boyfriend almost never speaks up when it comes to food and drink, so when he said he wanted to try Green Salmon, I had to oblige. Located on 101, you'll see the signage and cafe as soon as you enter Yachats. - Super shroom cocoa ($3.75): A run of the mill cocoa. We didn't taste any shrooms, but toward the end my bf said "hey I see a shroom flake on top. I guess I can kinda taste it." 3/5 - St. Pat's short-n-stout ($3.75): Light and creamy. A good one for those who don't like super strong coffee. 3.5/5 - Green salmon and lox plate ($13.25): You had us at Matcha cream cheese, but sadly the only thing resembling matcha was the light green color. Also, just a note: the lox was smoked, rather than a cured salmon, which is traditional. Very generous with the capers. Overall, ok but nothing special. 3/5 - Sausage breakfast sandwich with egg on sprouted wheat bread ($7.50): BLAND and DRY AS F. Excuse my French. I literally was trying to choke this down. This was in dire need of some sort of condiment lubrication. 0/5 Indoor and outdoor patio seating available. While the the sanitized/non-sanitized signs on the table are appreciated in the midst of a pandemic, it wasn't working. No one was flipping the sign around to non-sanitized when they left, and I noticed a couple parties sit at the table without it even being cleaned, no less, "sanitized".

Yelp
This place is solid. The drinks are good. I'm a little bummed that they are mostly vegan now--I can't eat a lot of beans and soy, so the egg replacer made from mung beans and the tofu scramble were both off the table for me. (I had a delicious plate of scrambled eggs there a few years ago.) Also bummed they're not offering lox right now--I would pay an absurd amount for lox! Also, all their dishes are disposable now--I miss the big ceramic mugs! This may be a COVID thing, though, so I understand. Overall, though, the service is great, and my bagel and tea were both very tasty. The outdoor seating is nice.

Yelp
Outstanding place with outstanding people who actually know what they're doing. Usually a bit of a line, and well worth the wait.

Doug K.

Yelp
This is a wonderful place to sit and watch people. The menu is pretty much vegetarian and vegan. Taco salad is great as are the wraps. Tried the vegetarian Korean tacos and they were terrific. You can purchase bags of coffee beans and boxes of Tarot cards--so a very hip place to eat and drink. The coffee drinks are imaginative and first-rate. Staff are friendly. We come here several times on every visit to Yachats.

Karla J.

Yelp
Awesome, as always! I look forward to coming to The Green Salmon every year when in Yachats. The Chaga Chai Latte is amazing. The seasoned avocado toast w the jalapeño scone was the bomb! We put the jalapeños on the avocado toast for an extra kick! The service was amazing; so nice and friendly! We'll definitely come back tomorrow...

LC M.

Yelp
OMG, the pastries. Staff is super friendly to locals. Their hours are kinda funky so pay attention!
google avatar

Yelp
By far one of the best local coffee shops on the Oregon Coast! And better yet, they have Vegan options, awesome merchandise, AND hand made dog treats! Pro Tip: Be sure to get there early as they only serve breakfast/lunch and you don't want to miss you!

Kyle P.

Yelp
Honestly it's a bit cluttered in here and the drink I got was wayyyy overly sweetened! Also the food is mostly pastries and bread products which is a little disappointing for those of us who are GF! I also found the service to be a bit slow and the the staff was acting weird.
google avatar

David J.

Yelp
Had excellent experience with the food. Great smoothies and pastries. Helpful counter staff. Nice food presentation.

Yelp
Breakfast at the Green Salmon is a tradition for our family. It's gotten a little more alternative in vibe in recent years and the beverage menu has decreased significantly but everything available is still really delicious. My son was delighted with the lox box, my husband and daughter both enjoyed their breakfast burritos and all the pastries were good. The blueberry scone was the standout - just excellent! Worth the stop but prepared to wait though - we were in line for over 20 minutes. Reduction to three stars only because they've really cut down on their coffee options - I miss the chalk board! Also be aware that they do not offer eggs. This wasn't an issue for my family as we are fans of Just Egg and Tofu options but it may come as a surprise to others.
google avatar

Jeanie M.

Yelp
Upon pulling in I saw a bunch of tarot sign advertisements I almost turned around at this point because it's just not my vibe. But I really wanted coffee and they're organic so... in I walked. To say you're being herded like cattle is an understatement. There's a maze of outwardly evil "merch", a wall of tarot and oracle this and that, just full of symbolism and honestly garbage.... and something inside of me couldn't handle it even though I can usually overlook things that don't align with my beliefs to an extent. I literally turned around after standing at the register and not being acknowledged for an extended time. A woman at one point walked up and was treated very rudely for her food being completely wrong. Everything screamed at me to leave so I left.

Yelp
Super friendly staff, great food and drinks, & nice atmosphere with tarot cards on the tables

Shawn B.

Yelp
Wen. In for a cappuccino and clay mom got a Carmel mocha. Cool staff. Awesome bakery I'll try tomorrow. Forgot a hoodie and got an amazing Green Salmon one with great art the owner does. Lots of nicknacks, too many to describe. Always got I support local produces. Also a huge tarot desk selection.

Sophia V.

Yelp
This is one of the best coffee shops I've been to in all of Oregon! The drinks are all so delicious and reasonably priced. They have something's for everyone: herbal lattes, chai, matcha, coffee, and smoothies. I really appreciate that they don't charge extra for nondairy milks and flavors. The service is also wonderful! My only wish is that they would provide more gluten free options for food and pastries. I would recommend a drink but I've enjoyed every single drink I've ever had here!
google avatar

Laura C.

Yelp
Seemed like a nice spot and the drinks were good, but their ordering system failed and we waited 40 minutes to find out our order didn't make it to the kitchen. We had another obligation and couldn't wait any longer, so they refunded our money and we left hungry.
google avatar

Dawn B.

Yelp
Much to our delight this place is literally next door to Drift Inn. Excellent vegan breakfast options and delicious coffee too! Vegan pastries too!
google avatar

Yelp
I Adore this place... it could quite possibly be my Favorite Coffeehouse Ever.... Extraordinary Offerings from their own roasted coffees, exceptional teas, homemade dog biscuits, amazing drink & smoothie menu as well as sustainable practices (no plastics!!) in how they do biz... Be forewarned... they get Super Busy at times Because they are so Awesome so be willing to be Patient when you arrive at such times!

Yelp
Our breakfast and mid-afternoon coffee go-to when we were in Yachats. Stand in line, sometimes long, to place your order, but the kitchen works pretty quickly. Excellent, huge pastries, blueberry/Marion berry bearclaw for me, while my wife had GF vegan egg sausage biscuit. Both delicious. During our Yachats stay I had a latte, a cappuccino, and an espresso, all perfect. Staff is friendly, efficient, and diligent in working around dietary limitations. All of our orders here were to go, but it's a very appealing space for dining in as well.

Yelp
Thank you for keeping your magic and high quality small batch roasted coffees, even through the pandemic! This is truly one of the best mochas I have had: So rich, deep, and not too sweet. Such a treat. We also grabbed a couple of breakfast sandwiches this time around. The wheat bread was the star of my egg and sausage sandwich: Hearty, rich, great texture. I also love the buzz in Green Salmon: The people working there are so happy, patient, kind, pleasant, and helpful. And every time I have been in here, the place is abuzz with families, older folks meeting for coffee, travelers passing through. Covid protocols are still in place, and yet the space felt lively and warm this morn. Very comforting.

Carol C.

Yelp
The food was very nice well presented and tasted good ! However as a Christian I will never be back due to the Heavy Promotion of the Dark Arts and having Taro Cards at each table right next to the salt and pepper!! As you wait in line to place your order you are surrounded by Book Shelves full of Dark Arts materials, magical, and Witchcraft promotion! perhaps I'm the only person it offends but I do not feel comfortable at all in this atmosphere!

Meadow S.

Yelp
Awesome awesome food! Delicious. Best vegan danishes, great breakfast sandwiches. Yummy mushroom lattes.

J K.

Yelp
Great business!!! Splendid drinks!! The service? Out of this world!!! Right in the ocean for spectacular views, epic!

Yelp
After driving an hour plus just to make sure we hit town before their early closing time because I loved their coffee, snacks, and atmosphere, we were sorely disappointed with the current Green Salmon. I'm usually supportive of the need for business to adapt and change, but to be brutally honest, I loved this place before and now have no reason to go back. The snacks are pretentious and feel forced, the set up to order is now cramped and leaves you feeling like cattle, the merch is overwhelming and seems to be far more important than the ingestible point of being there, the coffee was not good, and neither was the smoothie my cohort ordered. I am a big fan of interesting takes on all food, especially beverages, I'll try just about anything and I'm pretty forgiving with a wide appreciation for the creative art of food in general... but coffee shouldn't have chunks. The mushrooms that were the highlight of the order tasted stale and felt poorly rehydrated. Considering I shouldn't be chewing my coffee in the first place, that made it hard to choke down. The smoothie tasted like freezer burn and plastic. The cherry flavor in the title was nonexistent. Honestly, how hard is it to run some decent ingredients through a blender? Have we not heard of tart cherry juice? The cashier was indifferent and cold, and there sure wasn't a reason to stick around, but if the product is good, I could ignore all that. It, however, was gross. Sadly, I hope they come out of this funk, they sure didn't seem to lack customers in a town lacking coffee so I'm sure we won't be missed and they certainly leave you feeling that way, but that's our experience in a nutshell.

Yelp
I was walking around this small quaint town wee early in the day and this was one of the places open at 745 am so I went in for coffee and tea lattes. Got a breakfast bagel sandwich too. Since the tofu scramble looked like all the rave (from signs in the shop), when the guy asked if I wanted eggs instead, I told him I'd take the tofu scramble. He seemed annoyed. I was confused but ordered and paid. The everything bagel was pretty good. Lots of flavor and a great crunch when you bite into it. You could taste all the seasoning. However the tofu scramble was bland and it seemed to need a sauce since it was pretty dry and lacked flavor. I guess its not all the rave. And maybe that's why the cashier was annoyed? But then again, the service was not good. The cashier was friendly to everybody but me and I didn't know why but soon started to notice everyone was White but me. Maybe he saw my little eyes behind the mask and was not nice to me because I was Asian?!?! -_- *shrugs* not sure. But I'm thinking that's not the case. They have a lot of loose leaf Asian teas here and seem progressive. Maybe it is because I ordered the tofu scramble? Anyways, the coffee was strong and bitter (not in a good way). However, the matcha tasted strong like it should have. So I liked that a lot. I saw another little cafe down the street tucked away near the beach. Was thinking of trying that tomorrow since this one didn't satisfy.

Mary C.

Yelp
They discontinued the bagel with Lox, cream cheese and went vegan! Coffee is still very good-big menu changes made since last year disappointing.
google avatar

Sara E.

Yelp
What a great find! They have quite the expansive menu with items all vegan. They carry all milks and have so many options, for sure one can find something here for even the pickiest of eaters or those with restrictions in diet. The bakes are amazing! Not just for vegan bakes but any kind of bakes! Made fresh daily, plus the coffee is to notch!
google avatar

Jessie R.

Yelp
I've been here twice now years apart. I remember last time I came I had the same experience as this time...the food is just mah, kinda bland. I had their "fish" sandwich and horchata. The horchata didn't have much flavor, the coleslaw that came with the sandwich wasn't flavorful. The fish sandwich was fresh but still not very exciting. I've had vegan food that you can't believe is vegan due to the flavor profile, this place doesn't quite meet the mark. I'll probably try them again next time I'm in town because I do like supporting vegan spots, but fingers crossed for a more exciting experience.

Yelp
I haven't been able to make it in here because of how early they close, but since I was at Yachats Brewing earlier than usual, I finally made it in. I love their drink menu, omg. It's vast and creative. Their food menu looks amazing, too, but I didn't get anything. The girl working was chill and our drinks were tasty. Can't wait to come back!
