Green Spot

Gratefully my neighbor turned me onto this place of sheer paradisal landscaping trees, bushes, flowers, etc. I wanted six Junipers to line my backyard perimeter along the fence line, especially because one of my neighbors is extremely challenging to put it nicely. Four of the junipers are around 5 foot and the smallest they have, at a good price of 97. per tree which is less than any of the surrounding nurseries. And that’s mostly because they’re a wholesale nursery for the most part, but do sell retail as well.. The other two Junipers are 7 to 7 1/2 foot tall and also wide and have berries and are absolutely gorgeous. The Green Spot is located in Longmont right off 287 on the east side of the highway. They’re open 8 to 5 Monday through Friday and closed on the weekends. If you look them up via Google, the hours are incorrect as they have attempted to change them several times to no avail. They were extremely helpful to me and “held my hand” in order for me to choose the most healthiest trees. They have a year guarantee that if anything happens within a year, they will give you 50% credit for another tree. I absolutely highly recommend them.

Updated for 2023 prices. Green Spot is primarily a wholesale operation but they do have a retail side. If you are looking for a lot of sales people to help you design your garden, this business is not for you. The retail hours are a small part of the wholesale hours and if you show up wanting to purchase outside the retail hours the staff can be brusk. If you know what you are looking for they are very helpful. Retail hours (April 1 to August 31 Tue - Fri.: 10:00 - 3:00 (they are closed weekends) The best part of the retail operation is the perennials green house that carries many of the Plant Select perennials.

~“TRUCKERS”~ Delivered here today Nice people it is FCFS gates open around 7:45 or just before 8 you can park outside on the dirt road to your left side entrance is second gate, i parked at the truck stop but still got in second to unload depending on what you have they point you to different direction took a while normal for refrigerated anyway..

I've been coming to this nursery for 20 years or more. Always friendly helpful staff. I had to come buy some screening bushes and they didn't disappoint. Great selection of xeric bushes that met my needs. Healthy stock and good selection to choose from.

“I had a terrible delivery day with this nursery. The owner of this garden was unprofessional and unresponsive to my concerns.. I came to make a delivery in the given location, and after I parked the truck in their yard as a worker indicated to me.. I went to check in, and they said to wait where I was parked.. after a while, the so-called owner of these organizations came out and in a loud voice, and without any respect for other people, he started shouting at me to move out of this place because I had blocked the parking lot and continued to comment in this way under his nose.. I want to point out that after entering the company, they do not have any parking signs for small cars but also for semi trucks. Be careful that the management is very sensitive, and you can be morally harassed..

Huge selection of plants and friendly staff. Plan to take some time to look around. It is a huge space

Good prices, beautiful plants, mostly help yourself, more oriented to wholesale.

Very helpful staff and nice facility. We arrived at 3pm on Saturday as we thought they were open until 5pm. The store was actually closing, but the owner stayed with us and helped pick out plants and check us out. He was very friendly and was not pushy to get us out the door even though it was the end of his day. They have my future business.

My first trip to Green Spot I couldn't find anyone to help me and I was being more of a looker than a buyer as I wasn't sure what types of plants I wanted to purchase. The second tripe, with a more definite need in hand, I had great success. Discovered that their prices were much lower than other places in Longmont and they answered all our questions, directed us to where various trees and bushes were located, and answered questions we had. We will definitely go back there.

Green spot if the best place to buy plants! The have the most affordable prices and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Don't go anywhere else!

I bought 2 trees at the Green Spot, and 1 of them died within 5 days. It was a little wilted the day I bought it as their inventory on this particular tree was low, but I was assured if I planted it the same day it would be fine. I planted both trees the same day, watered them the same, and one is thriving and the other dead. The dead one was supposedly the heartier of the two. They insisted I killed the tree and refused to replace it, and offered the standard 40% credit. I was shocked and disappointed as it had come highly recommended by a friend.

This is a great wholesale nursery for buying well trained, healthy balled and burlapped trees. We've planted bunches of them, and I can't think of one that has died. This is because they grow many themselves, and they select only well cultured specimens from outside suppliers. The root balls are generally solid and big enough. They're not a hold-the-hand of the customer type of place, so come in knowing a thing or two about what you're buying. But they give great service if what you want is carefully handled good specimens of trees that can survive in our harsh environment. That works great for my company.

I've given this nursery several opportunities to sway my opinion. Here's the positive, they have a nice selection of plants and trees which appear well maintained. I also noticed several landscaping companies using their services. However, as an individual customer in search of expensive tree's, bushes and plants, I did not feel like they were the least bit interested in helping me out. Most times when asking where I could find a particular specimen, I was directed with a flick of the hand. Prices were hard to decipher and questions regarding care of the plants had to be looked up online. I left every time feeling like I had been more of a bother than a buyer. Time to move onto another establishment who actually appreciates my hard earned money.
