19 Delicious Salads to Try in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"This iconic salad in Pasadena mixes crisp Asian noodles, chicken, toasted almonds, and sesame seeds over shredded lettuce for an addictive lunch. In fact, it’s become so popular that Trader Joe’s now has a “Pasadena” salad inspired by the Dianne at Green Street. Better to have it in the place that started it all." - Rebecca Roland

Google
The Green street Cobb never disappoints! The zucchini bread is a must have and my wife and daughter like the salmon. We typically make a trip from Riverside here every so often just because the salads are always a standout and place has good vibes

Google
I have been missing the Dianne salad with zucchini bread since 2010 (last time I visited Cali) it was a meal I always enjoyed at Green Street (born and raised there) I don't know why I waited so long, but I finally ordered the Dianne dressing and zucchini bread for shipment, all the way to Ohio. I work in the industry and had it shipped to my place of employment. I shared the bread with my team (toasted it a bit and added fresh butter) and oh my!!!!! All the feel goods of this comfort food was apparent on everyone's face. I'm only sad I ordered one loaf. I won't be making that mistake next time! It tastes like they made it today! I'm so thankful y'all ship this amazing dressing and bread. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! If any one of you from Green Street ever make it out here to Ohio, come see us at CCF! We got you! ❤️ I'll post a photo of my salad when I make it later! Edit: Here are some before and after photos of dressing and tossing. Enjoy!

My client and I had a wonderful lunch at Green Street Restaurant —it was the perfect spot to enjoy great food and conversation! We started with Mexican Street Corn Flatbread. It was flavorful and super sharable. Fresh toppings and delicious flavor made it fun to dig into while we chatted. For our mains, we went with the BBQ Salmon Cobb Salad and the Thai Chicken Bowl — both were great and cooked perfectly. Everything came with great service and a relaxed vibe that made the whole lunch enjoyable. If you’re ever looking for a place in Pasadena that feels classic but fresh, this is it. Highly recommend! 🙌

Google
I am from Pasadena and was home for a visit. I literally dream of the "Dianne" Salad when I'm away. It never dissappoints...the taste, the generous portion...fresh and like no other. The Zucchini bread...brought to our table in abundance...it's all just perfect. That food...matched with a table on the patio...a glass of Prosecco...good friends and friendly waitstaff...HEAVEN. Thank you!

Google
Had an excellent Reuben and a Dianne salad. Great food, ok price. Disappointed that they advertised serving heirloom tomatoes and I received romas.

Google
Good food and service as I’ve experienced for some 40 years, BUT a glaring omission from the menu - the meatballs and sauce are SPICY but it doesn’t say that on the menu. I ordered them for our 9 year old and she didn’t eat it. I just realized this as I was eating the leftovers at home. Also confusing because there is also a Green Street Cafe nearby which was the original name of this restaurant.

Google
We had a fantastic brunch last Sunday at Green Street Restaurant, and I can’t recommend it enough for a weekend brunch spot. From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and welcoming. Our waiter Kelly was exceptional—attentive, friendly, and genuinely invested in making our experience enjoyable. The food was absolutely delicious, with fresh ingredients and well-balanced flavors that made each bite memorable. Whether you’re craving a classic brunch dish or something a little more unique, their menu has something for everyone. The entire experience, from being seated to the moment we paid the bill, was seamless and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a place that delivers great food, excellent service, and a relaxed weekend brunch atmosphere, Green Street Restaurant is definitely worth a visit!

Google
Love this restaurant! Have been a loyal customer for years. Yesterday I had the cornucopia salad and found the chicken to be sparse, almost non-existent. Ordered a Dianne to-go and was DISAPPOINTED. Like my other salad there was ONE OUNCE of chicken. Horrible!

Yelp
We had a wonderful breakfast here with our family. The service was outstanding, and the food exceeded our expectations. We did have a minor incident that required half of our party to step out briefly, but it had no impact on either the quality of the service or the food. Everything was handled seamlessly, and we truly enjoyed our experience.

Yelp
I ordered the "famous" Salad Diane & it was basically a mound of iceberg lettuce with a few sad pieces of chicken tossed in, colorless and tasteless. Very disappointing! Our server was wonderful, tho. I doubt we will return.
google avatar

Adriana P.

Yelp
The food was mostly good and portions are generous. My pork chop was flavorful, and the zucchini bread was outstanding. However, there were multiple issues with my friend's hamburger. They never asked how he wanted it cooked, and it arrived rare. He requested crispy fries, but they were regular and had to be sent back. When the burger was returned more cooked, despite asking for no mayo, it came back with mayo again. He ended up not eating the burger and just had some of his wife's salad. Service was okay, but there were too many mistakes. The restroom was also dirty. I informed a staff member, but it was not properly cleaned. Good food potential, but attention to detail and cleanliness need improvement.

Yelp
Food - 4/5 I come here because my family likes it but also the food is pretty decent and portions are big. My family and I like coming here for the salad and zucchini bread and the variety of options. Service - 3.5/5 I've been here a few times and consistently the service (more specifically the host team) has always been a hit or miss. Even with reservations they have something not accounted for or have given away our table even though we were on time or had us wait around to make a table (blending two tables together) by waiting for one group to leave or prioritizing another party who hasn't arrived yet with a free table despite our group numbers being the same and having a reservation. Ambiance - 3.5/5 The place ambiance isn't anything spectacular. The outside patio area is ok.

Yelp
Food 10/10 Ambiance 10/10 great Frank Sinatra style music in the dinning area Service 10/10 great service. Our server made great recommendations. This establishment is An old time favorite & a hidden gem. Not easy to find the place but parking is easy. Lots of paid parking available There's indoor & outdoor seating
google avatar

Yelp
A hidden gem and SUCH a delicious spot. It's cozy, comfortable and inviting and has incredibly kind staff running the place. Portions are BIG and everything is so tasty. Idk what is in that zucchini bread but it's 11/10. Gimme gimme
google avatar

Yelp
I had not been here for more than 10 years and it has stayed the same. Dianne salad was great as usual and service was good too. I would have given it 5 stars except they don't validate parking, which is the downside.
google avatar

Yelp
Came here when visiting with a recommendation from family. The place has a great patio with lots of umbrellas/shaded options. Wonderful and attentive service. The Dianne salad was super tasty, would highly recommend. It's a very large portion, I was happy we got the lunch size. The salad comes with two slices of absolutely delicious zucchini bread! I took one slice home and it kept well. The adjacent parking garage machine was a little tricky, but you can also pay when you exit.
google avatar

Yelp
Get the cornucopia salad with Dianne dressing instead (I'm a fan of dressing on the side)! The zucchini bread is unreal. I cannot believe how good it is every time. It's very fresh and the veggies are nice and crisp mmmm! Staff is always kind and helpful. Someone other than your waiter will come fill up your glass of water - attentive, I like it! It's a nice, quiet and calming environment. It's perfect for a family dinner, a catch up meal with a friend, or a date night! The outdoor seating is perfect. The prices seem a little high for a salad but they are GIANT and with the side of the zucchini bread, it's worth it.
google avatar

Lisa P.

Yelp
This place is a gem! They are known for their Diane salad which comes with delicious and moist zucchini bread. All their sandwiches are delicious and come with delicious steak fries. The service is on point. The ambiance is lovely and you don't feel crowded. Best to take an extra zucchini bread loaf home. You won't be disappointed.

Yelp
Breakfast in Pasadena, California... I found out about Green Street Restaurant from my friend, Regis K. He makes food look so delicious from his photos! I just had to have that famous Dianne Salad! Armando was the sole worker. He let me choose my seat in the bright, elegant environment; he took my order; and brought my meal, and later, my bill to me. He paid attention to every customer that morning! When i walked in, I actually told Armando that I wanted a Dianne Salad. He asked me if I wanted a full order or a half. I got a half and wasn't able to finish it - maybe because it came with three complimentary slices of fantastic zucchini bread! The Dianne Salad is light and refreshing. It has high quality sliced chicken, toasted slivered almonds, sesame seeds, bean thread noodles, and a sweet-tangy dressing. The portion was so large that I took the remainder "to go" and enjoyed it as a yummy midnight snack. Thanks, Regis, for sharing this treasure!

Yelp
What a cute place! First time visiting and it won't be the last! The inside & outside patio of the restaurant was so cute with a full bar and plenty of happy people enjoying the great ambiance. The service was very friendly and were helpful since it was my first time. The food was so delicious and I can't wait to try more things. It was lunch time and I wanted everything but I got a veggie scramble with breakfast potatoes. My friend had the Dianne Salad and I couldn't help but take nibbles of that, it was soooo good. The bread that they served was Zucchini Bread and it was delicious! So glad I had some leftover bread to take home, I enjoyed it later.

Diana M.

Yelp
The food was mediocre at best. The beef and turkey burgers we ordered were ordinary burgers not worth $20 each. The service was slow. A restaurant best forgotten!
google avatar

Alejandro M.

Yelp
Love this place. Great everything, food, service, ambiance. They have an outdoor patio where service dogs are allowed. We visit often and also do take out. Eaten from there at least a dozen times.
google avatar

Yelp
The food is delicious and the workers here are the very helpful all the time. Today I had The All American Burger with fries. 10/10. I recommend this location to everyone I know so please check it out. Enjoy!

Yelp
This place has been around a while, a little difficult to find but once you do you walk into old Pasadena vibes a fresh new decor. Everyone goes for the Diane salad and if you can drink, the bar is wide open. They have clean restrooms and friendly staff . Parking is next-door there is a fee and they do not validate. They have an amazing breakfast that still is reasonably priced . Their dinners are a bit on the high end, but you pay for what you get. I popped in for a salad and zucchini bread and a dressing to take home. It was way more than I thought I could pay, but the flavors are divine and I peed it. Honestly, I can make this salad at home but their dressing is what makes it great! The newest thing they have are cute appetizers and I've been there for gatherings with family and we've enjoyed the trio, guacamole. Also, my son like the sliders and I liked the soup.

Yelp
Inside/outside seating available; outside preferred. Although there are foliage barriers separating Shopper's Lame and the patio, be aware that if you're at a table near the foliage, you'll smell gas or exhaust from a running vehicle. Food and service were ok. We ordered breakfast for lunch. We waited ten minutes for butter and syrup for the pancakes. They do have an extensive menu so you'll be able to find something you like.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered the Dianne Salad (their famous Asian chicken salad) and it was SO good. Everything was chopped super fine so you get a little bit of everything in each bite, crispy strips, tender chicken, fresh greens. The dressing is tangy, a little sweet, super refreshing, really addictive. I would come back just for this salad. The shrimp tacos were solid too, the shrimp had good flavor and the tortillas were soft, but there was definitely a LOT of cabbage piled on top. I even got one big hard hunk that threw off the bite a bit. Once I mixed it around though, it balanced out better. And omg the zucchini bread. Tried it for the first time and it was such a treat!! Moist, slightly sweet with a hint of spice, almost like a lighter carrot cake but more delicate.

Yelp
Came on a Friday morning with the family and I do not regret it at all. We sat inside but there is outdoor seating as well. Service was great-fast and the servers kept checking up on us. Everyone was super friendly too. Bathrooms were equipped with baby changing station. We ordered mac & cheese, potato tacos, eggs and homemade fries, French toast and the cowboy quesadilla and everything was delicious except I've had better French toast. But definitely coming back.
google avatar

Selene S.

Yelp
Good ambiance with indoor and outdoor seating. As in Pasadena, there is limited parking but a free parking lot nearby. Staff was quick in taking our order and the food came out fast too. I got the Emily's Breakfast scramble ($18). It has potatoes with side of ketchup and the egg scramble has bacon bits, bell peppers, and cheese. It was pretty good and portion was decent for this price.
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Everyone is so friendly here. Very subtle cute ambiance Came in here for a quick drink before my appointment and they were fast at the service. Will come back to try out the food. But so far loved the Expresso Martini that Joey made. It's fantastic and perfect. It's always hard to find a good quick place to drink.

Yelp
Green street has been in Pasadena for several decades. Their food is consistent. There is also a full bar . I had the Southwest salad with chicken. My sister had the Cobb salad. My salad was very good. We each received 2 generous slices of zucchini bread with butter, yum. Need to come back next time I'm visiting Pasadena and try some other dishes

Yelp
What a lovely restaurant and we especially enjoyed the outdoor dining space for a lovely Sunday brunch! The wait staff was very attentive and great about letting me know what foods were safe for my food allergies. I unfortunately could not try their famous zucchini bread as it contain three nuts but I heard it was delicious! I had a bowl of their potato soup, which was a huge portion and very filling. We also tried the Diane salad which was crisp and refreshing. We parked at a nearby parking structure, which was easy to enter an exit. Appreciate that we could make reservations online.

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here for years, and some friends came up from SD, so what took me so long? The service was amazing. Andrew was very knowledgable about the menu and establishment in general. Our friends were a bit late so we had the chance to talk to him and all of his recommendations were delicious. He didn't try to upsell anything and was honest by telling us how big the portions were. We had the chips with the onion dip and another one which I can't remember because the onion dip was all I ate. It was a huge portion for four of us and we had leftovers that went in the air fryer the next day. I am not a salad for an entree type of person, but I got the famous Diane and it was so good. I liken it to a Chinese chicken salad with huge chunks of chicken. I also had two pear martinis that were pretty stiff. We sat outside as it wasn't that cold yet. Our guests were shocked at how reasonable the prices were for the quality of food and portions. I definitely have been thinking when our next trip back is going to be. Pictures next time.

Yelp
Amazing service! Top notch. Quality of food was just as great. Instantly one of my favorite brunch spots in Pasadena. The bbq Cobb salad with Salmon was fantastic! High recommend.

Yelp
I've always seen Green Street in this area of Pasadena but never tried it before. My friend LOVES green street so we decided to come here after our Pilates class ! This place gives off the same voibes as Urth cafe but maybe with less options ¿? I loved how they gave us complimentary zucchini bread -- KINDA TASTES LIKE BANANA BREAD OR PUMPKIN BREAD. I ordered the soup and my friend ordered the salad !!! The only con is they unfortunately do not validate parking here so you'd have to pay for parking :/ This is the perfect spot to get Sunday brunch w the gworls :)

Yelp
A friend and I came here after a spa morning and I was a bit skeptical. Immediately obvious this place is a tried and true local restaurant. Lots of hype about the Dianne salad. As a NJ resident for the better part of my life I will admit my jaded opinion before sitting down was an eye roll. This (not so little) salad was a game changer. Seems like it shouldn't be a big deal but every thing about it - every bite was memorable. Something so simple yet so flavorful. The sweet surprise was instead of bread, they offer zucchini bread! This is a family restaurant, I would compare this to a diner in New Jersey but not exactly. Look forward to returning. Unassuming restaurant that more than delivers.

Yelp
My family has been coming to Green street for over a decade but I haven't been back since pre pandemic. How i do miss their zucchini bread and their famous Diane salad. My friend has also tried their pasadena sandwich and he said it was really good. I got their steak and it was pretty blah. It had good flavor but it was overcooked and very reminiscent of a cheaper steak restaurant. But if you stick with the salad, you can't go wrong. The service was pretty good but their food took a while to come out. So it's not a quick lunch bite place.

Shannon T.

Yelp
Always my go-to for lunch. Great for work or friend lunches - nice ambiance and quiet enough for conversation. I love sitting outside in the spring. The salads and sandwiches never disappoint and there are flavors and food choices for everyone - including vegan and veggie. This is also 100% my go-to for take out lunch. Everything packaged well and didn't get wilted or soggy in transit. Just discovered the take and bake cookie dough and will be back for more of that, too.
google avatar

Michelle S.

Yelp
TL;DR - classy spot with yummy, but expensive food! solid spot for a filling lunch came here after visiting the huntington library! - the food is pretty good, very fresh & service is quick enough (burgers, fries are better than average) - i liked the seating since the restaurant is pretty large & has a nice atmosphere (not too crowded, nice decorations)
google avatar

David Y.

Yelp
Just... above all things. This restaurant is located in a building that is also a parking structure and THEY DO NOT VALIDATE. Parking is TERRIBLE, the posted rate is $2 for 20 minutes which is not enough time for anything. The problem is that I really like the infamous Dianne salad. It's hard to find a decent Chinese chicken salad but the Dianne is a salad that I would rather order. Plus the Zucchini bread is excellent. Service ... I placed an order to go and the one member of staff was professional and the only complaint of course, is THEY DO NOT VALIDATE PARKING FOR THE STRUCTURE THAT THE RESTAURANT IS LOCATED IN. Not the employees fault at all. Ambiance is fairly contemporary and perhaps not memorable. What is memorable? The salad, the bread, and again, the part where parking is an issue and they do not validate.
google avatar

Naomi L.

Yelp
Solid spot in Pasadena for either a brunch/lunch or a standard American dinner! + Parking is free in the Lake Ave lots across the street, otherwise can look for street parking Personal favorites include: - Stephen's Sandwich with cheddar: YUM!!! I don't usually go for chicken breast based dishes when I go out to eat, but this sandwich is an exception. Upgrade for sweet potato fries for a bougier experience - Cornucopia Salad: take out the blue cheese and sub for the Dianne dressing and you get an upgraded salad experience. I will say, growing up, this salad helped me enjoy eating salads and I still enjoy the salad to this day. The prices have increased over the years to match inflation, but now it doesn't feel like an easy neighborhood lunch spot. All orders come with the famous zucchini bread which can also be taken home too!

Kim R.

Yelp
Was so looking forward to breakfast at Green Street as we hadn't been for several years. We walked into the restaurant, only one table was occupied, but there were at least 5 tables occupied with dirty dishes. There were several staff members hanging around, but seemed no one wanted to bus tables. It wasn't until after we had ordered and our food served that someone started clearing tables. Then the food came-one very dry, very overcooked omelet with only one piece of avocado in a bacon/avocado omelet. The server did take care of it. We will give it one more try.....
google avatar

Lyane P.

Yelp
Love this restaurant-it's like going home! Familiar, comfortable, faithful. We ordered the Dianne Salad, the Cornucopia Salad and Karen's Grilled Club. Both salads were refreshing, bright and come with zucchini bread. All yummy!

Yelp
I haven't been to Green Street restaurant for many years, and they have upgraded the decor inside, and the food is even better than it was the years I used to come and enjoy my dining. We had the pleasure of having Joey who was just amazing, amicable, and very attentive server, who knows the menu, which he recommended some great dishes that was very good!!the menu is so massive that it is so much to choose from from brunch, lunch, and dinner options. They have really good reasonable prices, and a lot of food that you can get with very good quality. Also, they have a nice bar area where you could sit, and they make some really good drinks and have a good wine collection for my drink. I tried the espresso martini and I had a glass of red wine called "decoy." That I am def a fan of now! This was a definitely a good time to have brunch on a Saturday with good customer service very clean inside and also a good atmosphere for small group celebrations or just if you want to come and sit at the bar to grab a drink . They have a parking garage to the left but you do have to pay for that parking lot . They also have a few handicap parking available out front. Overall, I would definitely be back here. This will be one of my new spots to come and have brunch and lunch. I do recommend, in lovely Pasadena and a classic for sure. -Marshay Dede

Yelp
We were looking for a brunch spot that had a full bar, but forgot that it was fathers day so most places were booked solid. But we stumbled upon Green Street Restaurant and they had what we were looking for. The service was good, the drinks were also very good. The food was decent. Do becareful when ordering here the portion sizes are massive especially their salads. WE ordered their famous Diane salad (their spin on a Chinese Chicken salad) a Southwest Caesar salad and a Shrimp pasta and a Reuben sandwich. The Diane salad, was underseasoned and a bit wilted, not our favorite ( it wasn't terrible but it wasn't impressive either for a signature item.) The Southwest salad and the Shrimp pasta were good, but also underseasoned i think. They have an amazing zucchini bread. The reuben sandwich was sizable, but I thinik i like the pastarmi to be more thinly sliced, these were beefy thick slices of pastrami, almost like a steak sandwich made it kinda hard to eat. The drinks were also tasty. Overall we had a good experience, some stuff needed work but nothing major. I would come back and try some other stuff again. They have inside and outside seating so if you want to do some people watching and catch a breeze.

Yelp
I honestly cannot understand the ravings about the Dianne salad! I must be nuts b/c everyone is obsessed and I thought it was one of the most meh salads I've ever had. It's 98% chopped up iceburg lettuce with a few strips of chicken, a tiny amount of sesame seeds and sliced almonds, and a few noodles. What is so special about that? The dressing is good but, for me, it didn't make up for the fact that I was paying $22.50 for a massive portion of iceburg lettuce with just a few toppings. Also, everyone is raving about the zucchini bread which I thought was dry and also totally meh. {Shrug!} To each their own.

Yelp
Sarah is amazing, her charismatic personality made our dining experience fun and we really appreciated her attentiveness and care. The food is delicious and looking forward to our next visit.

Yelp
Love it and love the catering options & sizes. The Diane salad is an iconic classic, but the Southwestern salad is also delicious.

Yelp
I go here all the time and this place is lovely. I love the food and the service is amazing. Prices are reasonable and they are very accommodating. Great drinks, too.

Yelp
First time trying the Green Restaurant and I am glad to share it will NOT be the last. Our waiter Alex was attentive, knowledgeable, patient and personable. He let us try their signature zucchini bread; and it was delicious!!! . They are known for their salads however the non salad food Items I got were delicious. I ordered the pear and goat cheese flat bread and meatballs for the appetizers. and the Ruben with sweet potatoes fries . Each item was flavorful and did NOT disappoint. We definitely enjoyed the laid back yet classy qaint atmosphere. Alex sealed the deal of our experience by giving us a to go sample of our their bbq sauce. Altogether we will be back. BTW, they have a private parking lot with plenty of space.

Adriana E.

Yelp
Food and drinks were amazing. Staff are so kind and attentive. Will definitely be back. By far one of the nicest experiences I've had in a very long time.

Yelp
Parking lot arm to get in, malfunctioning. Flippant attitude about it not working and not in charge of the parking lot from gal who answered the phone. Didn't offer a solution or alternate suggestions as to where to park. Don't think she was being rude just not comprehending that no parking equates to less customers. A 2nd call in because pressing the help button didn't alert anyone, no one answered. Asked to speak to the manager and he was nice enough to come out to the entrance of the parking lot and tried to help and said he called security for help and pressed the help button and got no response. He said I seemed a little upset. Guess, he didn't realize I went out of my way to come here 10 miles out of my way and that no one but me cared that there was no parking for customers. A meal here with parking for one is about $50.00 with no alcohol, $8.00 to $10.00 for parking, which is free at a lot of other places including my home. Should you park a minute over the metered time you will get a quick response. Why didn't he have a by pass key or alternative parking? Sadly, no customers pulled behind me as I tried to get into the parking lot, perhaps they are choosing places where the establishments care if there is parking for customers?

Yelp
I was here for the first time in a long time. I used to get this place confused with Green Street Tavern. LOL. My bad. Anyway, the location is somewhat hidden, but it's clean and modern, next to a parking structure and lot. It's conveniently close to Philz Coffee, Sugarfish, and Uovo. I arrived first and was seated right away. I had a pear martini, since I wasn't in the mood for a heavier drink at 11:30am on a Friday morning. Joe was awesome! He served my table and shook up some tasty drinks. He was a superstar! I had the Diane salad was impressed by it. Originally, I shrugged it off and wasn't too impressed by the basic look of it. However, it came in a beautifully, tossed mound of veggies, crispy noodles, and chicken breasts chunks with salad dressing. Honestly, it was a lot of salad, but it was balanced with the right amount of dressing. I ended up saving half of it for early dinner that day. Overall, I would rate it the 3.5, and round up. It's a good casual lunch place that serves cocktails and something for everyone.
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
Great place to eat but the "Diane" salad was overhyped! Came here for my niece's graduation lunch and I will say the parking is a bit of pain. We originally parked in a one hour zone. I moved the car twice before parking in the shoppers lane. But the place is great, the service was friendly and attentive. Food was good - we shared the Diana salad and it was just okay. I got the beet salad with salmon, which was good. There was an extensive kids menu - daughter had the spaghetti but wasn't really into it. She was however, in to the vanilla ice cream. So overall a cool spot with good food.

Yelp
Awe, this was the first time I was so disappointed with my meal. I didn't understand the lower review's bc I had always very much enjoyed my meals here. However, after my last meal, I understand. I ordered the home made potato chips with accompanying Parmesan/blue cheese dip, and onion dip for just over $11. Some chips were cooked and fried perfectly crisp, others were a little limp. Chips weren't the problem though. The dips were absolutely awful. The Parmesan/blue cheese was very thick and flavors were intensely concentrated beyond enjoyment. That's coming from someone who LOVES eating chunks of blue cheese and Parmesan but this was a Frankenstein gone wrong. I couldn't believe the onion dip was worse. It was almost as sweet as jam. They either added sugar, or caramelized the onions much too long. It was like dipping salty chips into a candy dip. Just gross. I had high hopes for my $38 main course: lemon rubbed swordfish with a caper sauce on a bed of arugula and orzo. This wasn't bad like the appetizer, it was disappointing in its own way. The swordfish was great. It was wonderfully tender, moist and seasoned well. The orzo and arugula were what ruined the dish by being dreadfully bland. It was mixed and coated with oil but that's about it. No salt, no lemon, no nothing. I don't even think the water the orzo was boiled in was salted. The fish was nice but since the majority of what the dish comprised of was a mountain of orzo and arugula, it was over all a very boring, flat, dull and monotonous bite after bite. I should have retuned both dishes but I thought I would salvage leftovers at home. I eventually just threw it away deciding not to deal with it.

Yelp
Disappointing Experience--Zero Respect for Patrons My wife and I had an incredibly frustrating experience at Green Street Restaurant, and it had nothing to do with the food--it was the complete lack of regard for basic courtesy and customer respect. While waiting in line, my wife was cut not once, but twice by other patrons. The first group saw her approaching the host stand and blatantly stepped in front of her. Then, the couple behind her took advantage of the chaos and squeezed their way in as well. Instead of causing a scene, my wife chose to be patient--only to be completely dismissed when she mentioned it to the front desk. The host's response? "Why didn't you speak up?" Here's the thing: A restaurant's job is to ensure a fair and welcoming environment. If multiple people feel comfortable cutting in line without consequence, that reflects poorly on management. The first group of 8 didn't even stay (because the wait was "too long"), and the second couple already had reservations--so why the rudeness? The host's indifference and the chaotic line etiquette left a horrible impression. If Green Street Restaurant can't be bothered to foster basic respect among customers--or at least acknowledge when things go wrong--then they don't deserve our business. We won't be returning.

Yelp
I was here about 3 weeks ago maybe 4. Sorry for the delay in my review. The food was timely delicious!!! The staff is so nice and attentive. I could tell my friends and I are not the normal client they attend to but still they treated us with the upmost care and attention to detail. My friend is a salad dressing queen and they brought out a sample of all the ones she asked to try. We ordered starters and we got them in quick and by the time those were done our entrées were being brought out fresh. The waitress was amazing, she knew the menu and the flavors of the foods we asked about with no trouble. We bought some zucchini loafs on our way out because they are absolutely the best! My friends and I are from Fountain Valley CA. we were there for a show at the convention center and we will be driving out there many, many more times specifically to visit Green Street! So worth the drive! I wish I would have taken a pic of the starters. They were so good and the presentation was so beautiful Thank you Green Street!!!!
