We wanted something that wasn’t as heavy for lunch. So glad we found this place! Since we’re not from the area, it was kind of hidden but seemed to be very popular as the line was out the door and down the corridor when we finished. They were super fast and had a great variety to choose from. You can order one of the salads or create your own. I ended up ordering the apple and pear salad and it was delicious. I would caution pairing with olipop- not knowing the fiber content… the soda also didn’t taste great. It had a lingering aftertaste from the stevia/ cinnamon I suppose.

Google
The Chinese Chicken salad is delicious. I love all the ingredients and the dressing is great. Also love that it's chopped. Not much I dislike more than having to cut up a salad. The line is always really long but moves pretty darn fast. One thing I noticed, and I don't claim that this is policy but the guy in front of me ordered the same salad but he got the small, I got the large. The person making my salad put the exact same portions of "toppings" on my large as the person making his small, but a lot more lettuce. Not excited about paying extra just for lettuce so next time I guess I'll get the small. However, still a 5 star salad.

Google
The best lunch spots in the skyway are typically indicated by long lines and Green + The Grain was no exception. While the long was long, the efficiency and sheer amount of staff had you cruising through line! The salad was delicious and was a generous size for being “small” (I had the Thai Beef Tenderloin).

Brian

Google
The most unfortunate 'thing' about green + the grain, for me, is that I'm stuck on the same few menu options. Stuck because I enjoy them so much, I don't dare risk that pleasure by trying something new. Plus the staff is top notch; knocking out order after order correctly and smiling behind their masks.

Google
Just when you thought this place couldn’t get any better, in comes Tiffany with the BEST customer service I’ve ever experienced in my entire life! Our car broke down on the way to pick up our salads from the mobile eatery. I sent a quick message, letting her know what happened, and she brought the food truck to us, delivering our salads and giving us a jump! Seriously, this business is made if they kindest people you can imagine. Please, keep supporting them!!

Google
My go to place for lunch, I'm here multiple times a week on average! My go to salad option is the Moroccan - perfect combination of flavors and grain for my taste. I prefer the large size although it can get a bit pricey. Service is quick and I'm impressed at how the folks behind the counter have memorized exactly what ingredients to put for each bowl. Will definitely be back soon!

Google
Love your salads, but unfortunately you just lost me as a customer. Last year you cut the large size from your menu, and only offered a regular and small. I’m 6’2” and 220lbs so I always got the large, but was forced to start getting the regular. I go in today and now you cut the regular and small, and now only offer a “medium” which is smaller than what the regular was but essentially the same price. I would now need to resort to getting two mediums to fill me, which would cost double what I was paying for the large I was getting a little more than a year ago.

Sharae Sledge

Google
Portions are generous, ingredients are fresh. I like that you can customize your salad however you want. Today was my first visit. I got a large salad and couldn't finish it so I'll get the smaller one next time. I also wasn't a fan of the buttermilk ranch dressing. It was a little bland for my taste but I'll definitely return and try a different salad.

Yelp
Had Green and The Grain for the first time as it was catered for my friend's baby shower and became a fan at first sight and first bite! I was impressed by the assortment laid out for us to choose from. I had The Farmer salad and completely cleaned my bowl! Their salads are so fresh and delicious! I enjoyed every bite and so did the rest of the shower party. It was fun to hear what everyone else selected. Sounded like every salad was scrumptious and that you can't really go wrong with any of them! Such a great idea to get this catered for showers or parties since it's so easy and simple to set up yet offers a variety of options for each person to grab and go. Also was a great crowd pleaser! It also introduced me to this great place and now I want to try more and will totally keep them in mind for catering events! If you have a party or small gathering you'd want catering for, I highly recommend ordering here. Hassle free and oh so fresh and yummy! There's something for everyone.

Sydney S.

Yelp
These are the best salads in the TC in my opinion! They're fresh and quality ingredients, plus an extensive menu that also includes a BYO option. You're also able to make any salad into a wrap. This is our go-to in-office lunch. We were able to get delivery in North Loop in about an hour for 10 salads! I am never disappointed by my meal here. It can be a little pricey, but I feel the quality of the ingredients are worth it.

Anna H.

Yelp
I wfh most the time but our office is downtown and let me tell you, every time I am in the office I crave for Green and the grain. After a weekend full of going out to eat at restaurants that are relatively less healthy, going here makes me feel better about myself. However, my bank account is never happy. The only downside to G&G is that is a very very expensive salad. The other day I ordered a Large Cowboy with tip and everything it was $18!! Never thought I'd buy a $18 salad in my life but I did. Lol either way, I will be back many times. There's not much seating in the restaurant itself so we typically go there and pick up salad to eat in the office. The service is very quick and they have a whole assembly line that is super efficient.

Mezan G.

Yelp
I don't often eat salad at restaurants, but this is one of the exceptions. What makes this spot different from the others is how everything is cut & the variety. You're not given huge slices of lettuce and light toppings, everything is proportionate. The dressings are also incredible, light and flavorful. My favorite salads are the Santorini & the Cowboy. As far as accessibility, I'd say it's fine as a majority of the locations are in the skyways, but you can order delivery or visit the traveling food truck. Overall, G&G is amazing and definitely worth a try!

Lil' Miss B.

Yelp
Long lines at lunch are worth it. Great variety of salad options to choose from. Solid & healthy choice!

Maddy R.

Yelp
This is the BEST salad you can get in the Midwest. I've been obsessed with Green + The Grain since I started working in Minneapolis in 2019. Not only are their salads good (I would highly recommend the Cowboy), but their staff is so friendly and energetic. I can say with confidence that I've never had a bad experience or a bad salad in my multiple times going there. I would highly HIGHLY recommend!!

Lauren R.

Yelp
Green + The Grain is a staple lunch location in the Minneapolis Skyway. Feeling sad? Green + the Grain. Feeling celebratory? Green + the Grain. My go to is the Caprese salad but both the Apple and Pear and Farm salad are popular in my office. 3 Things to Note: 1. Salads here can be pretty pricey- a large salad will cost approximately $15. However, the large is the best route because you get more bang for your buck! 2. If your order ahead, request that they mix in your salad dressing. Otherwise, it will come unmixed and will be impossible to evenly coat in the dressing given the salad's confined quarters. 3. The lunch rush line is real! It moves pretty fast, but if you want to skip it just come 10 minutes before 12 or 10 minutes after 1.

Eva D.

Yelp
Great new option for clean eating. Offerings are packed with nutrition without being crazy high in calories. Good range of options between the salads and the warm grain bowls. The ingredients are very fresh. We tried the curry cauliflower bowl and the buffalo chicken salad. Both were tasty and I like that they ask your preference for dressing - light, medium or heavy application. Our two items came in just under $30. Not bad for what you get....just a little expensive for me to make it a daily habit. Parking is challenging in the area so if you can, I'd suggest walking or biking there if possible.

Lisa P.

Yelp
The Green + the Grain food truck has been coming to my neighborhood weekly for the past few months and it has been such a treat! The way they chop all the salad ingredients is great and way more work than I ever do for my salads at home. I have loved almost all of the salads I have tried, but my favorites are the Farmer and the Chinese Chicken. The salads are large (even the small size), but lately I've been ordering the large size because it covers 2 meals for me. Check their Instagram to see where the weekly food truck locations are. Highly recommend!

Hnou V.

Yelp
Love their cowboy wrap. I get it all the time. I tried their chips and I don't think I'll get it again. They taste like they're made in house, but the chips I got didn't taste fresh. It didn't have the crunch I was looking for. It tasted kind of stale. Other pros -Really fast service (even during peak lunch time) -Healthy -Highly customizable and many options

Joshua G.

Yelp
My tastebuds fell in love with Green + the grain. Additionally, this salad spot has similarities to the popular east coast chain "Chop'd". With the ability to customize your salad, order a wrap, or featured item like a grain bowl, there is something for everyone.

Ahmad R.

Yelp
Additionally, salads now have a lot more iceberg "barely a vegetable" lettuce compared to the romaine they used to use. Stinks when a formerly excellent place with a popular following starts nickel-and-diming. File under: how to slowly go out of business.

Taylor M.

Yelp
Amazing salads they are also a perfect size. While the salads can be a little expensive (around $15 per salad) you truly get what you pay for. The best part is all of the ingredients in the salad are the same size, which is why ever bite is so good. I highly recommend the Buffalo chicken Cesar salad - its my go to!

Rachel J.

Yelp
The lines may be long, but they move fast and the end result is worth it. Green + The Grain is my go to lunch spot and I can't seem to replicate its deliciousness at home when I make my own salads. I'm not sure what magic they put in it but it's delicious. My go to is the Thai beef but I need to branch out in the future. I always get the small because the large would be just too much food for me! There's a salad on the menu to please everyone so just wait out the line!

King V.

Yelp
The best spot for fresh salads. I am a huge fresh fan and this place has it all. As a big guy you won't think that you can get full off a salad, but this place made me rethink it.

Susan P.

Yelp
I am so sad that Green and the Grain only exists in MSP!!!! Please open a store in nyc!!! I literally have dreams and crave the chicken salad, that's how good it is!!!!! All the ingredients are fresh, the combination of ingredients work so well together and their dressing is addictive! You'll never view salads the same again. I could eat lunch from here EVERYDAY which I do whenever I travel to the twin cities.

K L.

Yelp
Insane - how is a salad this delicious? Chinese Chicken as it comes is delightful. Mildly spicy 5 stars

Angela M.

Yelp
I could eat here everyday. And a while back, I did. Please covid. Go! Away! The staff is so on top of there game. And with huge amount of people they see a day, they someone still remember your order! That's service right there!

Stephanie A.

Yelp
OMG THE BEST SALAD PLACE IN MPLS !!! DO NOT HESITATE TO GO. They do everything to perfection. Even a simple Caesar salad taste like heaven. Am I really hyping up a salad place? YES. It's that good.

Alik W.

Yelp
Totally mobbed at lunch. However, line moves fast (10 min even when it was wrapped into the hallway) and the leaf jockeys are super quick. It is totally worth the wait too. Very creative salads with bold flavors. Great balance of leaves to ingredients. Competes on the same level as Chopt or Sprout. I really like that although this is Minneapolis, they don't spare the spice. My Moroccan had me tingling a little. I'm rarely in the skyway, but when I am, you bet I'm hitting this again.

Sheri S.

Yelp
Get here by 11:30am to beat the lunch rush! or if you can wait for after 12:45... I usually take my lunch and go because although the place has seating it could not realistically accommodate the amount of people it attracts during the lunch hour. I think their communal style table is cute but I hardly ever see people sit there. It is so well manicured looking that it reminds you more of a set than a place you would want to sit down and indulge in your salad or wrap. I adore the assembly line style where your salad maker carries you through the whole process util you get to the cashier. I have not have any wraps here but highly recommend the Buffalo Shrimp salad which is yummy! But the Classic Chicken Caesar (with olives) is my absolute favorite from here!

Emily Phuong L.

Yelp
One word to describe Green + The Grain: Flavorful! If you want a salad that doesn't taste like a salad, this is the place! - Food quality: Fresh and big portion. Even though the price is higher than a regular skyway lunch, you get what you pay for. I was full at dinner time from my salad from lunch. I got the large apple and pear salad and it was full of fun ingredients: wheat berry, candied walnuts, diced pears, dried cranberry, etc. The salad almost tastes like a treat and I love it! - Service: Ok, I gotta admit the line scared me so many times because how long it is everyday at lunch. However, they move really fast! They have enough staff to keep the line moving. The staff actually smile at customers and not acting like Im-doing-you-a-favor-by-making-you-food. - One thing they can improve on: Put the menu outside or have paper menus for people to take while waiting in line to minimize the time that indecisive people like me take. Right now they have a big menu right at the front of the line, so you have to decide quick when you get to the salad bar and that's a lot of pressure to me.

Shawna G.

Yelp
Great Salad but some of the staff could use a little patience, forgot an ingredient in my salad, and when I said "Small please" twice, the salad maker was like "Ya you already said that" like read the room it's loud and some of us have hearing problems.

Heather T.

Yelp
Amazing!!! Stopped in here for lunch today when I was craving a healthy lunch. It was clean, fast, and very well made. I also purchased two more salads (cowboy) for my coworkers and they loved it! Fresh & well dressed salad for a very reasonable price!!

Cody S.

Yelp
The salads are very tasty, but they can approach $20 with tax and tip which makes it unaffordable for most.

Garrett O.

Yelp
Had lunch a few times this week at G&G. I highly recommend the cowboy! I won't be able to remember all the ingredients, but some included: pico de gallo, chicken, shredded cheeses, beans, corn, green onions, cilantro, and topped with jalapeño ranch dressing/tortilla chips. Because I eat a ton, I recommend the large bowls (but my colleagues said the small fills them up). The large bowls run about $12, and you can ask for a number of different vegetables in addition to the typical posting! I asked for avocado ($1.50 extra), sundried tomatoes, and extra scoops of anything. The staff was very friendly and although you're likely to hit a huge line at peak lunch hour, they are extremely efficient! Will definitely visit anytime I'm spending a week in the MN office.

Jamey B.

Yelp
Green & the Grain is my absolute favorite place to order lunch downtown during the workday. My whole team loves it, and their ordering is very easy for larger groups. Our office favorite is the Moroccan salad, sub sesame tofu. It's a little spicy, full of crunch, and the little tofu cubes are soooo good. Chinese chicken is a close second, as is the Santorini. The sizes of the salads definitely compare well to the price, which can seem high for a salad. If you are a light eater I would recommend getting the smaller size because these things are HUGE. I like to dump mine into a large mixing bowl so I don't spill everything on my desk trying to mix in the dressing. Tip for my fellow Minnesotan's who don't like spice, some of the dressings are rather spicy. Check out which one comes with your salad before ordering, you might be better with a different one than the one recommended.

Colleen K.

Yelp
This place has gone downhill, use to pack it in with everything for a salad and now EVERYTHING is at an extra cost!!! They DO NOT know how to mix the salad and I keep going back to give them a chance but now I'm done!! Will not be back as they did not mix my salad and asked for dressing on the side and they charged me an extra $0.75 and it was there issue!! The owner needs to get back to quality as they have lost it. Would not recommend

Nancy S.

Yelp
This is my favorite lunch spot! During the lunch hour there is always line wrapped around the skyway, so I'm definitely not the only G + the G fan. The decor is cute and is on theme with the fresh food they serve. It is a very industrial setting with concrete floors and metal chairs, so it's pretty loud without any fabric textiles to absorb sound. The loud volume combined with the busy, wrapped around line of people make this a to-go place and not somewhere I would want to sit and eat with a friend. I have tried a couple salads, but always return to the Caesar. It's the best Caesar I've ever had! The lettuce is shredded, and the chicken and croutons are small, so each bite has a little bit of everything. I come here a few times a month with my coworkers, and the quality of the salads is very consistent. I recommend getting the small size salad; the large is huge, and I can never finish it no matter how hungry I am. The staff is also friendly and keep the line moving, so even if you visit during the busy lunch hour you won't be in line for very long. They also offer order pickup (which I have used several times successfully), but they do NOT mix the dressing in if you choose to use order pick up.

Sandra H.

Yelp
Torn between 3 and 4 stars because I love this place, yet it's pricey and about every other time, my salad is wet with dressing. The good: The ingredients taste very fresh, and I think roughly 1/3 of them are organic, which is great - who doesn't feel good about putting good things in their body? This includes fresh herbs! My favorite salad is the caprese which has strips of fresh basil that adds such a flavor kick. I'm also a huge fan of the ratio of toppings to greens. They lean heavy towards toppings, which is the best part. The salads are also surprisingly satiating, both the overall portion size (I usually get the small/reg size) and the amounts of animal protein, grains, and cheese. I also love all the crunchy topping options they have, especially the pita chip pieces. The bad: I think the prices are a touch on the high side, but the value is usually there for me. I'm probably biased since I come here too often; I just wish I could keep lunch around $10 or less! My big grievance with this place, is that depending on who you get to assemble and mix your salad, you could end up with an incredible amount of dressing. I'll try to post a picture the next time this happens, but I always ask for light dressing and it doesn't always happen. Sadness for me is when the greens are limp and sad with a drippy coat of dressing on both sides. Yuck. Still, I will be back again and again. And again. Also - I love fresh avocado, but this is not one of those places that offers that. When they list avocado, they mean an avocado paste reminiscent of guacamole.

Mark O.

Yelp
For what you pay, they sure skimp on ingredients! The person preparing my wrap was carefully instructed to parcel out tiny portions of everything but lettuce. I've been going here for a while, and with the higher prices and smaller portions, it's no longer a good value.

Julia V.

Yelp
It's extremely delicious! They mix the salad so everything is spread evenly with every bite! Healthy, HUGE portions for the price and great staff. The line goes very fast too! Such good food for a great price. Really great mixes and they know what they're doing.

John M.

Yelp
If you're looking for lunch downtown and want something on the lighter side, this is a great option. Be warned, the line is very long starting at 11:30 and ending around 1 but they cycle you through pretty quick. You can also order ahead but make sure to do it first thing in the AM so you get a decent pickup time. I typically get the cowboy and it's an awesome salad... ask to go light on the dressing though! A little bit goes a long ways. My only beef with them is nutritional info... you gotta be able to provide that nowadays and they simply don't have it. Food is great though and worth the price. Cheers

Erin G.

Yelp
Such fresh options for a food truck! Love it. I forgot to take a photo of the menu. It's a short menu, there were about 4 salad options that could all also be made into wraps. Also there was froyo! I will have to try that sometime. For $9, I got this Asian chicken salad that was bigger than my head. Delicious and super fresh.

Angie M.

Yelp
Update: The owner reached out to me after my 2 star review (below) and explained that the meat issue must have been a new staff person being confused. I gave them another shot today, and am adding two more stars. Service was much better today, and so was my wrap. Thank you for addressing an issue, making me feel heard, and providing delicious food. Original review: I have been here a few times. Every time before today got five stars and love the Caprese wrap. Today I got an employee I assume was new, and order the Thai Beef Tenderloin Wrap. As she was making the wrap I noticed her put in one spoon (tablespoon size) of beef. I would assume a beef wrap would have more meat than that. I asked, she confirmed with a coworker. Nope. One tablespoon of steak for a wrap that costs $10.50. Don't count on getting any meat in a tenderloin wrap here! Otherwise their ingredients are fresh and good. Just really annoyed about the steak.

Anne J.

Yelp
The salads here are fantastic! The Moroccan is my typical order - fresh ingredients, filling and a little spice. The menu includes unique salads as well as classic salads. You can also choose the type of lettuce you want which is a great way to add flavor and nutrition if you want! The portions are also generous. If you're going for lunch I'd recommend getting there between 11:30 and 11:45 or after 1 to avoid a long line, although the line goes relatively quickly. I'm giving it four stars because it's expensive (at least $10) and it's loud-best to get your salad to go. Overall, a great healthy option!

Katie C.

Yelp
Had an amazing Caprese salad. Just spectacular. Just the right amount of ingredients that were balanced and fresh. The Balsamic dressing was the best dressing I've ever had. Anywhere. Anytime. Going back again this week and can't wait to try something else.

Monica C.

Yelp
I go to Green + The Grain once a week, I love it! One time, when I was checking out, the owner looked at my salad and realized it wasn't completely full so she had them fill it more. Excellent service!

Kelsey P.

Yelp
I came here with a coworker on a Monday and had the BEST SALAD OF MY LIFE (Moroccan). That same coworker and I went back on Thursday and I ordered the same thing. I got a good salad, but not the same salad. The dressing tasted different, the greens tasted different, the ratios were different, etc. Of course I know this is because they use all fresh ingredients and make the dressing themselves, but I was really hoping for that amazing salad again. The line looks overwhelming at lunch time. I can admit that. But they move so fast. A line 40 people long might take 15 minutes to get through. Ultimately, a great option for lunch, if perhaps a bit inconsistent.

Taylor P.

Yelp
I love these salads. The Moroccan and the Cowboy are my go-to's, but I'm confident all of these salads are fantastic. Portions are pretty big too -- I once got the Large and had to split it into two meals (which sounds hard to believe, given it's a salad, but trust me, it's huge!). I usually take my salad to go, so can't comment on the sit-down experience, but it's always hopping during the lunch hour so it may be a bit loud if you're trying to eat lunch with someone else. And also, maybe try avoid going right at noon and aim for 11:00 or 1:00. The line will likely be out the door and wayyy down the skyway! The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the price point. Though these are easily my favorite MPLS skyway salads (and are sizable portions and fresh/healthy ingredients), I so wish it wasn't a $10+ meal!

Chris C.

Yelp
Amazing salad joint! That is what best describes Green and the Grain, and they sure do know their salads. I'm a big salad fan, often times it's the staple of my dinner, but when I saw another patron leaving with this massive salad in a bowl, I thought, "Wow! I'll never get through that much salad" and it turns out that was the small size! Very generous portions, super friendly staff that are willing to make recommendations, all good. I had the grain bowl one day, which was perfect, and the Moroccan the next, which was quite a bit spicier than expected, but still delicious. A little hard to find tucked away in a professional building, but take the time to find ti, you won't be disappointed!

Aaliyah H.

Yelp
I DONT EAT SALADS AT ALL!!! But I'm absolutely in love with these. First of all always get a large because for a dollar more you get like twice the salad. The cowboy is my favorite!

Noah P.

Yelp
I'm not normally one to order a salad, but this place is AMAZING! And the salads are very filling. I can eat a lot, but I can't finish a large salad. Gluten free friendly too! The line is sometimes long, but you'll get through fast!

Golee X.

Yelp
My favorite salad place! Best Caesar salad I've had ever. I also love the Chinese chicken. They should start a rewards program, I'd come everyday (well almost).

Ali S.

Yelp
My co worker brought me here and I have been hooked ever since. The Apple and Pear is by far the best salad I've ever had and I hate salads. They our super clean and use gloves. The customer service is on point and they work really fast! My only issues is I wish they had a location open on the weekends!

Matt H.

Yelp
Went here during the lunch rush around 11:45, only waited about 15 mins despite the line out the door and up the skyway. I got the Buffalo Chicken salad and it was delicious. The ingredients were perfectly balanced and mixed well. The dressing didn't overpower the flavor and every bite was crunchy. The price was ~$10.50 for the large salad and seems like a great value based on the amount of food you get. I'll definitely be back!

Brooke J.

Yelp
Best place to get a salad in Minneapolis! Wish they had more locations than just downtown Minneapolis. I love getting lunch here everyday. My fav salads are the buffalo chicken and the chicken caesar.

Kaitlyn A.

Yelp
I've been to the brick-and-mortar location a few times for lunch because it's really convenient to my work. The salads are pretty good. Nothing groundbreaking, but a solid lunch. My main issue is with the price. I can get a decent salad for way less than $9 other places in the skyway. The wait is usually pretty long, but the staff is nice and once you're up to the counter it moves really quickly. I wish they accepted American Express.

Kelsey N.

Yelp
Loved it. I had the buffalo shrimp Caesar which I would recommend and eat again. The gals I was with raved about the cowgirl. I got the large which was $11.50 pre tax. I could have definitely done the small. They pack a ton into the containers. Everything is mixed fresh in front of you. I guess there is normally a long line, but we didn't have one today.
