I’m not vegetarian and I like a juicy big meaty burger. But my daughter is a vegetarian and she said I would love their “nasty burger,” and I absolutely did. It was fantastic. This will be a new favorite family dining place.

Google
My sister Morjoriee and I just had the best experience at this wonderful establishment. Brian, our waiter was amazing and so attentive! And, let’s not forget how amazing the truffle fries and cauliflower wings were!

Yasmine Malik

Google
I had the Big Nasty burger and it was absolutely top tier. I am vegan and don’t like faux meats, so I was pleased to try their house made veggie patty. It was flavorful and totally hit the spot! Lots of vegan friendly options in addition to this burger on the menu. The service was fast and super friendly. I could not recommend this place more highly!

Google
Absolutely delicious, the service was fast, the portions were great for the price. I will be going back everytime I'm in San Antonio. Our server Jericka was friendly and knew the menu well.

OMGGGGG! I had the chicken fried steak and it is A MUST HAVE. The food was delicious and the customer service was superb. Even the left overs were tasty. They have a forever customer in me.. and the crazy thing is.. I’m not even vegan. I thought that I was eating meat, lol. So delicious.

Google
5 star vegan lunch! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️I ordered yesterday 9/3/24 for the first time via Uber Eats & Wow! My order was made accurate & fast! I had a big portion worth my money & couldn’t eat it all. The veggie burger was big & juicy, and the vegan cheese was tasty! I just wish they had regular flat/circular pickle slices(hamburger cut) instead of the spear shaped. The avocado on the burger was added nutrition I enjoyed. The $4 chocolate chip cookie 🍪 was hard, but after 20 sec. in the microwave it was nice & soft, not as sweet as I like though. I love the sweet potato fries! I definitely will be ordering from here again, but I think I’ll dine in to get that experience next time.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Green Vegetarian Cuisine, and I can't recommend it enough! The food here is absolutely delicious, showcasing the incredible flavors of plant-based dishes. I tried the Parmesan eggplant, and it was nothing short of amazing—perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. The quality of the food is truly high-end, making it a standout choice for anyone looking to enjoy a delightful vegetarian meal. If you're in the mood for something fresh and tasty, be sure to check this place out. You won’t be disappointed!

Google
Green Vegetarian Cuisine is definitely a favorite of mine. I especially love Victoria’s Crab Rangoons and Notzerella Sticks!!

Nokie H.

Yelp
Creative dishes. The buffalo cauliflower was very good. The spicy beef dish was also good I would try something else next time Good price as well. Good location at the outdoor shopping center

Lauren B.

Yelp
Used the too good to go app and green popped up! Very fun app by the way, helps business save food from going to waste by offering "surprise bags" at a lower cost. You never know what you'll get. Tonight my order consisted of spicy beef, kale, rice, mashed potatoes, quinoa, roasted cauliflower, and tea. All delicious! All flavorful! Very nice

Shelly V.

Yelp
Lots of options. Good, clean food. Kale salad is great! Service is consistent as well.

Kymberlee H.

Yelp
Came here during lunch with my boyfriend on a little day date and it was not packed so we didn't have to wait to be seated. The staff were very friendly & attentive. We ordered the cauliflower buffalo wings as an appetizer but it didn't come out until after we received our entrees, no big deal, we loved them & took them to go, after eating a few, for a late snack. Amazing. He ordered the Nasty burger with sweet potato fries, he rated it 8/10. I ordered the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes & kale salad, HIGHLY recommend. I added sautéed mushrooms & onions on top which took it to the next level, the flavor of all the dishes were definitely a hit.

Shonda D.

Yelp
The service was outstanding. Our waitress was super sweet and super attentive. However, the food was not that great it needed seasoning. They need to be a little bit more creative. It was a very cute environment. I really did like the ambience, but the food really was not my cup of tea. I've had better food at other vegetarian restaurants but I hope they keep on striving for greatness to get better. I really feel like I wasted $40 because I had to go get food when I left.

Holly S.

Yelp
Sitting infront of the beautiful waterfall here, wind in my hair just gives the best vibes. The waitress was very friendly. I had Romanda and she suggested the Marsala burger which kept me satisfied yet not heavy. Great for people needing to get back to work. That chickpea patty with chutney and tatzik sauce matched the environment....refreshing and amazing! This meal complimented my workout today, and I feel so good about my healthy choices. So thank you Green crew for making this a fabulous day! I will return soon for happy hour. I'm told the appetizers are half off and it's byob. Sounds like a great plan on a beautiful day like today.

Michael N.

Yelp
First time eating vegan in a while and decided to see what this place had to offer. Food came out hot and looking immaculate. I had the Nasty burger with sweet potato fries and it did not disappoint at all. The cauliflower wings were delicious with the dairy free ranch. Customer service was great. We barely missed breakfast so we'll definitely be going back to try out the breakfast another time.

Mari A.

Yelp
It's my 1st time here. I ordered the humble bowl. It was absolutely delicious and very filling. The portion size was more than I expected and priced reasonably. I also ordered their agua de Jamaica , aka Hibiscus tea, which was perfectly sweetened and refreshing. The service was outstanding! I will be coming back again to try other menu items. Come check them out for yourself!!

Jorge G.

Yelp
Truly a gem of a vegetarian restaurant! Was charging my EV and the restaurant was steps away so rather than wait in the car, decided to try it with my fellow passengers. Two of us are pescatarian and one not. I had the chicken Parmesan burger, one person had the chicken fried stale and the other a meatless wrap. Sooooooo good! The I have to say the meatless beef wrap with the spinach wrap was the winner. It was simply outstanding! Who needs real meat! My chicken Parmesan was so good; just the right amount of vegan cheese and sauce. The fries are killer too. Also tried samples of the vegan brownie and some cookie and they were simply yummy! So happy to have this restaurant in San Antonio!

Lee I.

Yelp
Deliciously AMAZING! I recently came across this place as part of my vegan/vegetarian journey. I've tried the Chik-N Ceasar wrap and the Falafel burrito and both were perfectly delicious. They had fantastic flavor, great texture, and very filling. Green Vegetarian Cuisine has found a permanent spot on my favorite restaurants list.

Yelp
We had the pleasure of eating at Green Vegetarian Cuisine. It was so delicious! We were a large group of 11 people and were seated quickly when we arrived to the bright yet cozy space around 10 AM on a Sunday morning. The staff were very friendly and helpful with answers to questions about the menu as well as suggestions of favorite items to try. The portions were generous and the flavors spot on! The skeptical hard-core chicken fried steak fan that came with us gave the vegetarian chicken fried steak a thumbs up and said he would eat it again. The cinnamon roll french toast was so yum with candied pecans sprinkled over the top - it is slices of the giant cinnamon roll french toast style and a great way to sample the cinnamon roll if you are not quite up to the challenge of eating a whole giant cinnamon roll...We tried many menu items as their were 11 of us ordering (most of us were kind enough to share a sampling with the others at our table). The avocado toast was amazing on grilled focaccia bread. The migas and breakfast taco were full of that good tex-mex flavor. I tried the cucumber water and it was refreshing with the light cucumber and lemon flavor. The menu is extensive and we plan to visit again so we can try more. The lunch and dinner options looked so interesting, offering a world of flavor influences. Interesting note is that these cinnamon rolls are the same ones they used to serve at San Antonio's now closed but well-known Lulu's Cafe! We ate at Lulu's 7 years ago when it was still open and it is pretty cool that cinnamon roll legacy lives on at Green! Mike the owner is Lulu's son. This is a flavor-filled eatery that is worth a visit! (More than one visit...too many things to tempting option for just one visit.)

Todd R.

Yelp
So first offf I'm not a vegetarian so you ask yourself why is he reviewing this place. It's for the cinnamon roll. The 3# cinnamon roll to be exact. I have traveled to SA for business for yrs. One of the first joints I got take out was a place called Lulu's Diner, or cafe, not sure, but the food was awesome. Huge portions and just great "greasy spoon" food. But one thing the had was a 3# cinnamon roll. I would take them to customers ofcs and they were a hit. But I lost a ton of weight and then Covid hit and Lulu's was off my radar. I still have customers in SA so I thought about that cinnamon roll so I looked up Lulu's. They have closed. So sad. But, a relative of the owner, a son or nephew, opened Green, and lo and behold, was making the 3# cinnamon roll. So I swung by and picked one up. It's huge. Took it to the customer and it was a huge hit. I was telling the cashier at Green's and the huge chicken fried steaks they used to have. She comments that they have a great plant based CFS, I had to pass this time. Maybe someday. But, I'll be back at Green's for sure for the 3# cinnamon roll.

Rick G.

Yelp
We are always looking for a good plant base restaurant. I have to say, this was a good pick. I had the enchiladas and I was very pleased. The green sauce was excellent and the meal had a lot of flavor. We also tried the nachos and they were very good. There is clean with plenty of seating inside and outside and lots of parking close by.

MzNita D.

Yelp
I visited San Antonio and wanted to know where the best eating spots were, heard about this place on YouTube. The food was phenomenal, I enjoyed every bite, and had some leftover for the next day. I highly recommend the sampler with Buffalo cauliflower and the chicken fried steak.

Barbie M.

Yelp
Huge menu selection. Friendly staff. Everything was perfectly balanced seasoning wise nothing was over powering and had a great taste. Vegan and vegetarian options. I ate vegan my mom went vegetarian. Bought the 3.5lb cinnamon roll to bring home! Will be back and will work my way through the menu HIGHLY recommend.

Laura V.

Yelp
Omgoodness! I've never been to a vegetarian place before. Their food is fantastic. I had the chicken fried chicken. I couldn't tell the difference. It was savory, not earthy, and seasoned perfectly, not like a salt-lick block. The dining area is whimsically adorned with vintage plates and murals. Our server was accommodating for a newbie like me. He allowed us a sample of a drink so we wouldn't get stuck with something we didn't care for. He explained the meal prep in detail, which made for an informed decision. I will be heading back when the opportunity arises.

Michael S.

Yelp
Our waiter was great and the food was exceptional!! The bathrooms are really clean and the people are all really friendly

Steven K.

Yelp
Great experience. Would go back for sure. We got the chik-n parm with dairy cheese, grilled cheese, and the veggie burger. Cupcake and brownie was also delicious. Very helpful and friendly staff.

Anoop I.

Yelp
I love this place; we've been to this location a couple of times, and their previous location several years ago. The masala burger and sweet potato fries were good. So were the tomatillo enchiladas. Between the two of us we polished off three entrees, so I guess we were super hungry on our last visit, or their entree sizes are on the smaller side. Either way we loved our visit, and we're quite looking forward to come back here the next time we're in SA.

Stacy V.

Yelp
Finally tried this place at the Quarry. It's fairly small and cozy with a nice selection of menu items. When our waitress finally arrived she took our drink order and in all honesty, the service was sloowww. When she dropped off the drinks, she just left without asking if we were ready to order (we were). We were waiting so long for her to come back, I got up to ask the hostess if we could place our order. We were told she was busy and they'd just put in the order for her. What, okayy. Four stars was for the food because it was very good in spite of the subpar service.

Ramii A.

Yelp
I ordered the green omelette and was unable to finish it! It was greasy and salty. The hash browns were tater tots and my tall stack of pancakes were burnt.

Nina J.

Yelp
I'd been looking forward to checking this place out for a while, so I decided to go on the morning of my bday. The place was nice and clean. There was only one other couple in the place when we got there, so it was nice and serene. So, the first thing I ordered was the huge cinnamon roll, which was delicious. Of course, I couldn't eat the whole thing but dang it, I tried. I ordered the appetizer which included the cauliflower wings, onion rings, fried pickles, kale fries and various dipping sauces. My faves were the pickles and onion rings. The "big nasty" burger with kale salad as a side was my entree. The burger has a falafel patty which I was intrigued by and thoroughly enjoyed. The kale salad was simple but enjoyable. The service was cool, but they could care less about special occasions..the waitress made that pretty clear. Anyway, I still enjoyed my bday breakfast...yep, this was breakfast...don't judge me:-).

Rhonda P.

Yelp
I want to keep enjoying coming here... I love the food, I had the protein bowl but please Up Keep Your Restroom like it was Your Very Own.

Karin P.

Yelp
This place is divine! Great service, fantastic menu, reasonable prices, clean accommodations. Gluten free and vegetarian options. And the best dad gum sweet potato fries I have ever had! The Big Nasty burger was fan-freaking-tastic! Filling, flavorful, great texture. They were also great about adding pickles to the side. The dipping sauces are to DIE for! You need to order fries just to get the sauces... Not that anyone really needs a reason to order fries... But now you have one. Be sure to check in on Yelp. They have or at least had a deal for a free cupcake. Highly recommend the chocolate peanut butter... Plan on coming back to try basically everything else on the menu. And to get to a seat outside when it isn't a million degrees.

Savy S.

Yelp
Food and service was amazing! Highly recommend for delicious vegan food. They give really big portions too, which is always nice, at a super affordable price.

Traci R.

Yelp
If you are looking for a giant cinnamon roll the size of the ones Lulu's used to serve, it is here. But if you want a cinnamon roll that tastes like the ones from Lulu's, then you may be disappointed. Lulu's closed in 2021 but her son, Mike Behrend, is serving a vegan version at Green. While the vegan version is good, I prefer the original. Green's is more dense (more bread) and the frosting is pure white and tastes as though it is made with powdered sugar. Lulu's had a more candied frosting made of granulated sugar and cinnamon. The cinnamon roll I preordered online from Green appeared to be slightly underbaked in the center and was missing the signature and decadent candy core of sugar and cinnamon. I'm sure this cinnamon roll will still have plenty of fans based purely on its Texas size but I think fans of the original may be disappointed or may even prefer this version.

Yelp
I went here when it first opened and have always been willing to support it. I seem to recall not being "wowed" by what I had the first few times. Even though it wasn't "amazing", I was still happy to support them. I just ate there this weekend and I have to say, their menu is incredible and I was obsessed with what I ordered! It was so so damn tasty and can't wait to go again. The new location is great and it was lovely getting to sit outside. My friend ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich with fries and he couldn't stop raving about how yummy it was! For reference, we concluded Green is like Kirby Lane but vegetarian. Same caliber of food, great for brunch and dinner grub.

Alan W.

Yelp
Wonderful! Visiting from Southern California for the eclipse, we needed to find a good vegetarian restaurant. We found it at the Green Vegetarian. They had a variety of menu items, making it a tough choice, Having said that, I don't think you can go wrong with any of the options. The weather was perfect, so we chose to eat outside. We were immediately seated, and greeted by our server, Brian. Brian did a great job. Very pleasant and attentive. We started with the appetizer sampler. If you can't decide on which appetizer to order, this is the appetizer to get. Fried pickles, onion rings, asparagus, kale, and incredible buffalo cauliflower wings. My wife enjoyed the mushroom stroganoff. Huge portion, but light and tasty. She wanted to finish, but no way. I ordered the chicken fried steak. It was served with a tasty gravy. I added the optional onions and mushrooms on top. The dish normally comes with mashed potatoes and gravy, but I substituted fries. Green Vegetarian is definitely the right choice, you MUST dine there when in San Antonio. If you live here, I'm sure you eat there frequently.

Asif F.

Yelp
This was my first visit to the Quarry location. Previously, I frequented the Alon (NW Military) location. I went on a Thursday and was the only diner in the restaurant for breakfast. I ordered the Migas with eggs and it was delicious! I agree with previous reviews that either tofu or eggs are a good choice. The potatoes filled me up and I did not eat much of the corn tortillas. I'll plan on coming back so I can try lunch items and a cupcake!

Savannah L.

Yelp
My lovely co worker, who's vegan like me, took me here and let me say I'm in love!! Their food is so good! I order orange tofu bowl and they're superb! I really love the cucumber water too!!

Cynthia H.

Yelp
It's so good. So so so good. I left San Antonio about 10 years ago and don't get back often enough. I really hope to change that! I got the daily special and I cried happy tears when I took the first bite of my quesadilla. The tortilla soup was great. The eggplant parmigiana was perfectly prepared.

Oscar D.

Yelp
I had three Spicy Green Salad. It was actually very salty . I feel the dressing on the bees or pretend beef was very salty . Will not buy this plate again .

Lisa H.

Yelp
Loved this place - great options and lots of flavors = attentive service and very reasonable prices for generous portions. We ended up eating here two days in a row!

Jamaal B.

Yelp
This vegan restaurant was amazing!!! My Wife and Daughters absolutely loved everything, including the outside ambience. The Big Nasty burger was so delicious and the vegan desserts were so fresh. Also the service by Mr. Brian was excellent! Great experience!

Kala J.

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch on a Thursday afternoon and the service was fairly quick. Never got the waitresses name but she was kind and efficient. We ordered the fried pickles to start and they were delicious but piping hot! We each got the same thing lol the falafel pita with fries.. The fries were Bomb but the falafel was not, the falafel was just not good. It was mushy and the pseudo tzatziki sauce was bland but also tasted like icing. The lemonade was decent but needed a few more squeezes of lemon.

Balaji K.

Yelp
Really excellent food. What I love about this restaurant is the creativity with which the dishes are made. The taste is unique and adds a different take to the conventional dishes in a very eclectic manner. What I liked about the chicken fried steak was the wonderful gravy that added this zest to the well prepared steak substitute. I will encourage all to try it out!!!!

Antranise N.

Yelp
Had a great meal while in San Antonio at this restaurant. I wanted to pick a spot near the airport - was flying back to Atlanta. This restaurant was not crowded as it was after lunch and before the the workday ended. I ordered the Big Nasty- house made patty (has beyond meat I think as well) bacon bits, avocado, cheese, sauce, & L&T - really good. Came with a side- I got mashed potato, & an extra side of onion rings (crispy but not much flavor). I also ordered a cookie and brownie to go. Service was great and the restrooms were clean Would absolutely go back when I'm in San Antonio!

Carol K.

Yelp
I love this place! They have the best fried mushroom sandwich and great desserts that are also vegan! Go try it out! It's fantastic!

Karol M.

Yelp
I found this gem of a vegetarian restaurant via the Yelp app while in San Antonio on business this week. Based on other reviews, I ordered their tasty signature Green Burger, which starts with a house-made chickpea patty on a whole wheat bun and tops it off with guacamole, mixed baby greens and sliced tomatoes, and spicy mayo, and a side of the kale salad, which came slathered with a delicious olive oil dressing. I couldn't resist adding an order of the buffalo cauliflower appetizer to share, which is battered and offered with an option of either BBQ sauce or spicy Cholula sauce. I chose the Cholula and it had just the right amount of punch to receive a "medium spice " rating from this relative spice wimp. My dining partner ordered the Big Nasty Burger, which basically is a Green Burger kicked up a notch with the addition of some sautéed mushrooms and onions and your choice of either vegan or dairy cheese. She chose the latter. It's a giant tasty feast of a veggie burger. We enjoyed our meal on the huge, airy shaded patio, with the peaceful zen waterfall fountain nearby. During the Time of Covid, Green has reduced the number of outdoor tables to six, and has blocked off a number of tables indoors, for those who would rather dine inside. That would not be me. Masks are required except when actually dining. It would be helpful to add some outdoor signage to instruct patrons who wish to dine outdoors to simply have a seat, since we made an unnecessary trip indoors, thinking there was no table service outside. There were a lot of people ordering take-out, which is packaged in recyclable or biodegradable containers. You can order for takeout or delivery right through the Yelp app. Kudos to Green for essentially bringing a slice of Austin to the San Antonio dining scene. We will definitely hit this place up again next time we're in town.

Robelí T.

Yelp
I always get the chicken fried chicken and my wife gets the chicken fried steak. So good. I'm not a huge salad guy but the side kale salad is so tasty. I always eat everything on the plate.

Irma G.

Yelp
Food taste like cardboard no matter what you order the hype is not all that. Service id give it a slight 2 restaurant wasn't busy at all maybe three to four customers and ourselves. Which was a big party we all left wondering how this could even be called great food . Flop, Flop, had better food at Lubys as far as healthy veggies and that's not saying much ch either. Don't was your money as the prices are overrated. And the burgers look like something that died.

Brent L.

Yelp
Just like their other location in San Antonio, the service and the food are both great - but just a tad on the pricey side. Plenty of vegan and vegetarian options are available. Lots of salads, quinoa, and protein options. They also offer a lot of meat substitutes. Their salads and bowls are healthy and taste great, but occasionally I like to cheat and get something with a little more substance. That's where the "Big Nasty" comes into play. Not as healthy as some of their other options, but quite tasty! The Big Nasty burger is $12.59 but includes your choice of a side ( I chose the steamed broccoli and it was cooked perfectly). I'm usually not a fan of chickpea veggie burgers, but this one really hit the spot, mainly because of the delicious toppings it had. Fresh avocado, grilled mushrooms, FRESH tomatoes (YUM!), romaine lettuce (none of that weak iceberg lettuce here folks), and OMG, the chipotle mayo is the absolute shiznit! By default, it includes melted cheddar cheese, but I chose to hold that on my visit. The bottom line is, this family knows how to run a restaurant (multiple locations and brands, I might add), and you should really give them a try. It's a great local business to support.

Jacqueline V.

Yelp
This place is decent. The server was great! A sweet young person with a kippa on who spoke to us a bit about the surrounding communities. I ordered the ramenthe noodles were not ramen noodles they were more spaghetti, but the mild broth was refreshing and the shredded cabbage and carrots were crisp and fresh. The dried mushrooms gave a bit of texture. The tofu was salty, but in a good way and had great texture. Hubby ordered the country fried 'steak'. He

Jonathan M.

Yelp
Super rude customer service Was placing a order then decided to change it as I told the cashier she smacked her lips then proceeded to press on her iPad hard to change the order

Kelley K.

Yelp
Surpassed my expectations. Really flavorful food, vibrant and fresh, Green is hitting all the flavor marks. The staff is nice/ friendly and the shopping center has ample parking. I ordered to go at the counter at 6pm on a Monday night. It took over 30 minutes to fill my spicy beef salad and buffalo cauliflower order but they were pretty busy with take out/ drivers for pickup orders. I'm not sure it would have been any faster if was dining in. Packaging is nice with the exception that they should separate the raw celery when to-go with the warm cauliflower. The celery was warm and flimsy by the time I got home to eat but that's just me being picky, the food was a delish must try for anyone, not vegetarian exclusive and you won't miss the meat.

Angie B.

Yelp
First time visiting their new location and I wasn't disappointed. Food was still delicious and the staff were great. Definitely a place to check out even if you're not vegan or vegetarian. The oyster mushroom stroganoff was amazing.

Chris M.

Yelp
Tommy and I are visiting San Antonio for a week and I always hope for good, or any plant based restaurant options. Last night was our third time dining there. Highly recommend it.

Avani T.

Yelp
Vegetarians, vegans, pescatarians, omnivores? No matter what kind of food you eat, you will be able to find a delicious meal at Green Vegetarian Cuisine! This was the Spicy Beef Salad and it was wonderful. The server there was very friendly and did a great job of recommending popular items. I am a vegetarian and I was there with another vegetarian, a pescatarian, and an omnivore and we all loved what we each ordered. Check out this place and you'll definitely find a yummy dish to eat.

Dana A.

Yelp
Stopped in for breakfast, everything on the menu can be made vegan! Omelet was very flavorful! All their desserts are vegan, I got a cookie to go, look at the size of it! Very friendly staff. Highly recommend!
