Much more classy when I first walked-in than I expected (in a pleasant way)! Very classy relaxing music, health-conscience food and drink choices. My husband got the açaí smoothie, and I got the lavender honey latte- both were delicious. Wish the large were a little bigger, but other than that, very pleasant experience.

We had such a wonderful experience at Green Zebra Café! It’s rare to find a restaurant that truly caters to different dietary needs without compromising on quality or taste, but this place delivered on every level. I was thrilled with all the raw vegan options, everything was fresh, colorful, and full of flavor. I’ll be posting some photos because the presentation was just as impressive as the taste! My father-in-law and kids aren’t vegan, so it was great that they had a wide variety of non-vegan options too. Everyone at our table loved their meals, which is no small thing when you’re dining with a group that has very different tastes and preferences. It’s the kind of place where you don’t have to settle or feel like you’re giving something up, everyone can find something they enjoy. The atmosphere was calm and inviting, with friendly service and a bright, open space that felt relaxing from the moment we walked in. One thing I deeply appreciated is that, unlike some healthy or trendy restaurants, there were no political messages, slogans, or agendas being pushed. Just good food, good energy, and a break from the constant noise and division of the outside world. It felt like a place where everyone is welcome, no pressure, no preaching, just a peaceful space to enjoy a great meal with people you love. That kind of environment is so refreshing and honestly rare these days. We’ll definitely be coming back the next time we’re in Sarasota. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a spot that values both health and hospitality.

Ordered for a 1pm pickup at noon, and they were 20 minutes late on the food. The kids PB&J was hot and on a multigrain roll with seeds, which obviously doesn’t work with a child’s palette.

I had the pleasure of eating at Green Zebra a few times this past weekend. Their food is delicious! The ambiance inside and out relaxing and comfortable. I AMAZING DESERTS (the key lime vegan cheesecake is to die for.) DELICIOUS BREAKFEST (I had their house special). And the seaweed noodle dish?!?!? OUT OF THIS WORLD. Highly recommend!

Looking for an amazing culinary experience? You’ve got to try this place. So many options! Their eggs benedict is delicious. I favor the vegan benedict option. Their zucchini lasagna is soo good. The dinner choices are equally as flavorful.

This place is one of my favorite places! Penelope is the best! Her recommendations were spot on! I got the Waygu beef burger and it was one of the place I’ve ever had. They have gluten and dairy free! Great cocktails too! I come for brunch and love their avocado toast too!

We found free parking just around the corner. The neighborhood felt calm, quiet, and distinctly upscale. The dinner menu features four salads, each priced between $17 and $19, with optional add-ons: fish for $11, avocado for $4, or grilled chicken for $6. Entrées range from a vegan beetroot risotto to a wagyu burger, priced between $19 and $28. I ordered the Baja burrito--filled with avocado, red cabbage, carrot, cashew cheese, and wrapped in a massaged collard green burrito. It was tasty, but it's definitely a dish best appreciated by vegans who truly enjoy collard greens. My husband chose the goat cheese salad, a mix of organic greens, goat cheese mousse, pickled shallots, candied pecans, preserved grapes, house-made crackers, mustard pearls, and maple vinaigrette, also $18. The goat cheese was extremely creamy and paired beautifully with the light, airy toasted pieces served alongside. It made for the perfect light entrée. For dessert, he had the pumpkin chia pudding--creamy, lightly spiced, and satisfying without being heavy--so we ended the night feeling perfectly content, not overly full. There was a gentleman playing the saxophone just outside the door, a bit hard to carry on a conversation at times but very adorable when he played happy birthday for a little boy who clapped for joy. Very heartwarming moment. Go and enjoy a very healthy dinner.

I reallllly wanted to like Green Zebra more than I did. I was so impressed by the heavily vegan menu but the flavors just fell short for me. we visited twice on our trip because there were so many things we wanted to try. trip #1 we shared the vegan shakshuka and the apple crumble oatmeal pancake: -the shakshuka was very cool. it was served with a vegan version of a poached egg which i loved. unfortunately the sauce could have been seasoned better and only 2 small pieces of bread were given. we were out of bread in 3 bites and still had so much more sauce to go. -the pancake was inedible - it tasted like straight flour and there was something really bitter on it that we couldn't get past. the servings overall were pretty small and i left feeling unsatisfied. trip #2 - a second chance. sun benedict and vegan french toast -the french toast was actually good. it wasn't soggy which is hard with vegan french toast so i enjoyed that. -the sun benedict was really just avocado toast. there was nothing that resembled an egg or hollandaise. that being said, as an avocado toast it was good - there was a giant scoop of some whipped green substance that was delicious. i enjoyed the outdoor seating and service was fast despite it being busy.

We had a mediocre experience here for brunch. Our waitress didn't know what kind of coffee they had and when I ordered a latte, she asked if I wanted milk added. What? My wild Alaskan smoked salmon bene was just ok. Watery hollandaise and I didn't like sourdough as the base. My potatoes were not crispy or salted. Our server never cleared our dishes after we were done eating. We sat for awhile chatting with empty dishes in front of us. Not ever when we asked for the check and paid. Ambiance outside was cute though.

This is 4 1:2 stars. Yelp wake up and allow this. Ohh... So we were having a nice walk over the Sarasota Bridge into St Armands and wanted a good healthy smoothie. Found it at the Green Zebra. Drank them outside and enjoyed the sunshine. Service was very good. Drinks were totally refreshing and easy to drink. Good stop. Big time recommend. Nice people working there too.

Do not get the matcha, it's expensive and very poor quality. Not good at all. It has a very grassy taste and it's brown in color

June 16, 2024 - 3 for Father's Day breakfast. Quick update (can't do much about the 5 stars but say they earned them again today!) Service by Sabrina? was exceptional and attentive!!! My wife ordered: sweet potato toast --- sweet potato, avocado, grilled bell pepper, calamata olives, toasted sesame seeds and she got an over medium eggs. The sweet potato toast was a 9/10, the eggs were over hard yolk and had the browned whites from flash panned quick cooking hell. 4/10 Daughter got : the real deal --- two free range eggs your way, bacon or chicken sausage, one buttermilk pancake, served with organic maple syrup and powdered sugar. The pancake with chocolate morsels was an 8/10 but the eggs we also over easy but were more like medium to well and the white on one side were crater bubble browned and a fried brown edges. Better than my wife's egg. 6/10 This egg showing is sadly why when I did my 28 breakfast place round up of Sarasota, Venice, Osprey, Nokomis areas of Eggs Benedict over the last 3 years Green Zebra did not make the top 10!!! GREAT for many many things as you can see here.....but "somebody" needs a lesson in egg poaching, frying, and cooking..... low & slow is better than flaming & fast. I decided on the sun benedict: a grilled portabella, avocado, house - made vegan eggs, tomato, rustic Italian bread, house - made vegan hollandaise. Now this was innovative and enjoyable!! Doing the real eggs benedict review my total cholesterol actually went UP almost 10% since 2021 after me spending 10 years getting it to go from 350+ down to 138 total. S this healthier alternative, low to no saturated fat, low oils/fats and lower calorie overall little feast was welcome. Next time to make it even BETTER I will ask for a gluten free less processed bread!! 10/10 Great spot, maybe they will work the egg cooking situation/suggestion, but we will be back for sure!!! Check them out!

Food was very delicious and fresh! The raw lasagna was super good and the chocolate cake was incredible!

My husband and I have walked by the Green Zebra so many times and we finally decided to try it. We came for a late lunch. It was quiet and the staff was so friendly and attentive. I got the chicken pesto sandwich and it was absolutely divine. It came with potatoes. Also delicious. My husband got breakfast (pancake, eggs, bacon, coffee). He said everything he had was also good. He tried a bite of my sandwich and he also agreed with my opinion of it. We will definitely be back! Lowkey and laid back vibe with staff that match!

One of the best restaurants in Sarasota! It's healthy, but upscale and has delicious cocktails! My friend is dairy free and gluten free and they had so many options. The seafood was delicious and they one of the best burgers ever. Penelope was amazing!

We ordered the Highlander shrimp which came in a coconut curry sauce with black rice and basil. It was absolutely delicious. Not spicy at all. My husband got the Grilled Baramundi. Again it was delicious. No complaints. I appreciated the nonalcoholic Stella Artois as well. My husband had vodka and soda. Great atmosphere, great service. We will return.

We saw this super-cute cafe located just a walk away from our hotel, Art Ovation...so my husband and I decided to bid farewell to Sarasota with a breakfast here. My son, however, chose to just pick up a pastry from Kors, this bakery next door. First of all, the place is strikingly decorated with leaves and branches on the wall, rustic, artsy tables...even a huge, carved Zebra (life size!) in one of the rooms! However, I didn't understand why that Zebra was hidden away by the Exit sign (possible safety hazard?)...and not placed as a centerpiece, in the middle or front of the restaurant. Why, I wonder?? Anyway, the menu was equally striking...very unique! BTW, this place is also open for dinner as well...not just for brunch. I saw so many items that I'd love to try! It seemed that they had a good variety of Vegan options too. My husband decided to try their famous Raw Pancake. It was kind of alluring, especially for my hubby because he loves Strawberry...but unfortunately, he didn't love it. I chose their Lavendar Blueberry Pancakes, with a side of Bacon....and I DID love mine. Very unusual taste...in a very good way! As far as I was concerned, their foods were awesome. Aside from great food and decor, service was on point too. Overall, I loved this place. Hoping to revisit in the future!

The place was full outside and we were hoping for that for our big group of 8- they ended up taking us upstairs where we had the whole place to ourselves! Our server was wonderful- she brought us a drink they accidentally made extra of instead of throwing it out, and, when she got my daughters order wrong (but the food still looked so good), she let us have that AND boxed up the correct order for her to take home- now that's great customer service! The food was good- it's very healthy tasting- which means not as much seasoning- it's great and fresh!

The service is kind the food is totally divine and the ambience will not make you whine! This place will not disappoint you! We will definitely be back!

When my mom and I got here the place was super busy and we thought we would have to wait, but we managed to get a table outside and get lunch pretty quickly! I had the tofu burrito wrap which was super filling but not too much food, and I also had the chocolate chip cookie. The cookie was good, but smaller than I expected so it wasn't big enough to share. The restaurant is pretty cute inside! One thing that did happen is our server didn't come to give us the check so another server did. We figured they must have been switching shifts or something which was a little odd since they didn't tell us what was going on. Other than that it was great!

I would say the food was very good however I don't think I've ever waited so long for something before in my life. My friend got an açaí bowl, ordered ahead, and it never came. She waited 40 minutes and ended up leaving. I think this cafe should be named sloth cafe. Seriously. I also asked for maple syrup from my server, which never came. I would understand if the place was swamped, but it wasn't. If you're in a rush do not go here. Food is really good though. But it was also very expensive. $40 for what's in the picture + a smoothie.

Very disappointing. Server said everything was great but was not. Scallops were good but a little sandy. Do not get the short braised ribs unless you ask if they were just made. They were barely warm, definitely leftovers and $38. If you're going to put a pricey dish on the menu, at least make sure it's fresh or don't serve it at all. Pretty presentation of the dishes but not enough to pass the OMG...I have to come back. We picked the restaurant because of the saxophone player for the ambiance. He was pleasant to listen too. Possibly a good lunch place but not dinner.

What a gem. This was so great that we had brunch at the St. Armands Circle location the following morning! From the greeting, to the service, the menu choices - awesome. We shared two starters - a stuffed beet and shishito peppers with a cashew cheese sauce. Outstanding. BEST burger in town. No doubt. Cannot wait to return to SRQ just to try something else! Thank you. If you get lucky enough to have Penelope as you server.. Awesome.

Mediocre at best and pretty overpriced. I got the omelette, which was VERY over salted and overcooked. My wife got the avocado toast which comes on a thick baguette, which is an odd choice, because it's just too much bread to avo ratio. My kids each got fancy pancakes, strawberry shortcake and coconut pineapple. They were $9 for one pancake and you can make a better one with a box mix. Service was fine but no personality and nothing to write home about. Overall just very underwhelming and overpriced.

Vegan raw dish; loved nut pesto. Very filling but light. Pre-concert dinner, and service was prompt and polite. Live music on Friday-Saturday. Oh, and all food components made from scratch, be it meat or vegan

Green Zebra had been on my list of places to try for awhile so I was delighted when my friend suggested this. I came here with a friend for brunch and once we narrowed down what we liked from the varied menu, we sat and waited in anticipation of our selections. Thankfully we did not have to wait long, and our selections proved to be delicious. I had the raw burrito which had walnut "meat" and veggies wrapped in a collard green leaf. I loved the freshness of the veggies in this roll and everything was crisp and clean tasting. My friend had the raw pancake which she devoured along with the house made sausage. We also got an avocado toast to share. I also indulged in a cup of tea abs it was delightful. Everything was excellent-the good, atmosphere, and service. I will definitely be back! Try it out for yourself and enjoy!!! Please note: This location is in downtown Sarasota and there is parking on the street in the general area.

Great! Love the gluten free options they have. Thanks for making this an easy option for Saturday brunch. Family can choose between breakfast and lunch options and menu is versatile for allergies.

Excellent all around. We initially planned on a late brunch down the street and what a perfect accident that the other restaurant was no longer serving bc Green Zebra is awesome. We were immediately greeted and given our choice of table. The inside is bright, electric and so homey. Exactly the place you want a relaxing breakfast, brunch or lunch. Jose greeted us and warned us it was a long menu and he was happy to make suggestions or describe anything. We had a coffee and a wheatgrass shot for drinks and the "real deal" which was eggs, breakfast meat and a pancake. I was torn between that and a wrap, but was told they have the most delicious pancakes and he was right!!! I went with the basic plain pancake and it was delicious so I can only imagine the more creative ones are decadent. My bf had the breakfast sandwich and was equally as happy, he raved about the breakfast potatoes. The coffee was also hot and freshly brewed. Great service, delicious food and fair prices. (Also an option to pay on your phone if you are out for a walk or run and came without your card)

I came by Green Zebra this week with a group of friends for a Sunday afternoon lunch. The setting was pleasant, with nice outdoor seating close to the main st road. The staff was friendly and there was okay service speed. I got a coffee here and can't say it's something I would recommend. I know it's not cafe, but I expected a $4.50 coffee to not feel so watered down. I think heading to a coffee shop after your meal would be your best bet. There is a lot of relatively unique and health food options available. However, it's hard not to say that the portion sizes do not match the price point. Options like acai bowls and avocado toast priced around $12 seem a bit silly for a sit down restaurant. Even the heftier options like shakshuka seemed a bit small if you're trying to fill someone. Happy to see a health focused restaurant, but be prepared to order more if you come very hungry.

Visited on 3/29/25 before attending the opera. We love this restaurant! The food had great flavor.They had a variety of great choices. The atmosphere was perfect and the service was outstanding. This is one of our new favorite places for sure. We will be back soon to try brunch.

This was a good spot for breakfast. Definitely a lot of healthy options. We opted to get an açaí bowl and smoothie but were very interested in the raw pancake. The spot was super cute and service was fast and friendly. Only reason for 4 stars was because the prices seemed a bit high for the amount of food you were getting but we were on vacation and fine to spend some extra money

Had an interesting experience for dinner at Green Zebra Cafe recently. Booked a 4:30 reservation "happy hour" ends at 5. Dinner service starts at 5pm. It was our servers fourth day of service. Let me say I have a big heart. I understand what it's like to be new in a job and hoping to exceed those you serve. She did great despite a few small errors we overlooked and the food far outweighs a new server. We arrived for appetizers sockeye Salmon tartar and beet plate. Both were amazing!!! I would go back and order each as a meal. Dinner service was served very well. Roasted chicken, carrots plate with lentils and the raw lasagna (my favorite)... We enjoyed our meal, laughed with our server and stayed to relax after dinner. We will be back soon to see how our server progressed in her trade.

Docking additional stars for management response trying to justify this poor amount of wheatgrass by telling me density is different from water. I've been going to juice bars regularly since 2010 and I can sense when I'm being ripped off. But, even looking up the technicalities and considering density of wheatgrass juice as the manager argued, my math shows it was still a rip off.

The food was delish- lots of options and had gluten free options for my celiac friend. The service was great too! My friend's parents speak Spanish and our waiter was eager to speak with them and very polite. Would go again next time I visit!

Always had a small issue with the place. Every time I've gone I got the same thing. Chicken pesto sandwich and usually sent it back because the chicken was raw. Tried something different today for takeout (summer salad) and added chicken- the total for everything I got with tip was about 71.00. Place was completely empty and service was fine- except the chicken I paid 8 dollars for is nowhere to be found and you can't even call the store to figure things out. Beautiful inside but very disappointing

Interesting take on the pancake. I am GF (wheat allergy) and texture is a bit weird but taste is awesome. Definitely can feel the chia seeds in my mouth. Not sure i would order again but glad i tried it.

Wow! I don't have enough good things to say about this place. Let's start with the service. It may have been the best service I've ever had in my life. We had our two little with us, and the waitress went out of her way to make them comfortable so we could enjoy our meal. While there, they were extra needy, and she never once made us feel like an inconvenience. It was like we were guests in her home. She recommended great items on the menu and helped customize them to our liking! I mentioned the service first because it was exceptional, but the food was a very, very close second. It was recommended we try the raw pancake (which we would have never ordered). It was one of the best breakfast items I've ever had out. Unique, fresh, and delicious! I had the mushroom burrito add bacon, and it did not disappoint. The ingredients were fresh and super well prepared. We also had espresso drinks that were well made. To summarize, come here for great food and even better service. My only complaint is that the waitress never gave us her name so I could compliment her here. If she did and we missed it, I'm sorry to her!

Really cool spot near Marina Plaza. Full strip of restaurants, coffee shops, & juice bars. Came here for a quick pick me up and left with a delicious shake!!! I ordered the Life Force Chocolate Shake and it was the perfect balance of chocolate and all the other ingredients to make you feel like you're making great choices in life! Hahaha Happy Cow approved for all my veg heads. Lots of vegan, gluten free options. They label everything for you on the menu to help with people who have nut, gluten, or dairy allergies. Have to come back to try their food! Definitely recommend

First time eating at Green Zebra and glad I did. Showed up at 11:30 on a Sunday morning and the wait was 20 minutes. Not bad at all and shows they have a good customer base. Atmosphere: Chill, best description I can think of. Inside and out are relaxing with a very cool vibe. It's very clean as well. Service: Great service. We were sat outside and greeted immediately by our waitress. She was friendly, checked in and did a great job making sure the table was bussed. Food: The food was above average. One note for people reading is that a low of the food is raw and health conscious which is not for everyone. We got French toast, avocado toast with egg, and coffee. Everything was very good. I would be curious to try their lunch/dinner food. Would definitely come back.

Great location for brunch. Even on a busy Sunday afternoon, the service was attentive and food was served promptly. Our party had the omelette your way and turkey Louise sandwich. Very tasty and filling. Prices were very reasonable, definitely will be going back.

This is my favorite healthy lunch spot. Green Zebra offers a wide variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options. There also have vegan/vegetarian and raw options. My favorite salad (which honestly I haven't ordered anything but because I love it so much!) is the Rainbow Kale. It has a lemon vinaigrette with a generous portion of kale and purple cabbage mixture, avocado, and carrot ribbon. My favorite drink is the Immune Booster that features a nice gingery flavor. Seating in there can get a little tight. You may have to wait to get seated. Also, I'd expect to spend a bit more time there. It always seems to be a bit longer than a 1-hour lunch.

The food was delicious, service was friendly and the ambiance was refreshing and cool from the heat. I loved the citrus salad and added tofu which was amazing! I look forward to ordering it again!

Came here for Mother's Day breakfast today. Food was mediocre and all dishes came out lukewarm or plain cold. French toast (both the skillet and regular versions) had a nice presentation, but were dry, cold, and bland. Wild salmon platter came with cold toast. Breakfast sandwich with vegan bacon was mediocre at best. Pancakes that came with the real deal were dry. Coffee was bitter. The glass water cups they give you had a horrible wet dog scent. Definitely not worth the over $250 bill. Our server Jose was very friendly though. Definitely will not be back based on the poor food quality. Lots of better options in the area.

Cute cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Very fast service and very friendly servers - I ordered a berry smoothie for pickup this morning when I was 3 mins away and it was ready and handed to me by a smiling waitress when I came in. It wasn't dead either - there were several tables eating and it was pretty busy. Would definitely come back to try some more things here :)

The lox platter was plentiful provided you get more bread on the side. The coffee was never ending, thanks to the lovely waitress. The blueberry lemon pancakes were underwhelming, until drenched in maple syrup.

Calling all breakfast lovers! My friends and I were visiting the city for a wedding, and we came across this breakie place after drinking our coffee down the street. We were invited by the foot traffic coming in and out of the restaurant. We took a look at the menu and immediately put our name down. We waited about 20 minutes and our table was ready. We ordered the french toast, trio pancake (lavender, strawberry shortcake & tiramisu), acai bowl, veggie omelet and breakfast sandwich (bacon and egg). All the food was so delicious and made to order. The pancakes are something else though! The flavors were so fun and presentation was so beautiful. This place also serves the freshest ingredients, and it's mostly vegetarian friendly. Definitely coming back for the tiramisu pancakes!

Went to their downtown location and Saint Armands location. Both were delightful. GLUTEN FREE VEGAN PANCAKE GREATNESS !! Best gf fluffy tasty pancakes that also had the options of flavors cooked into it. I did blueberry on one, strawberry on another one, vegan whipped cream. Added some of the cream to their EXCELLENT coffee and you are off to a decadent dream of a brunch! Had their vegan salads / avocado toast on gf bread - just YUMMO! The seating in their downtown location felt more elevated and honestly comfortable vs in saint armands it was more picnic benches and cafe style. Service was table side at the downtown location and it was preferable for me. The cafe style, order at the register we bring it to you was a bit too fast casual for my preference. Either way- it's delish! GO !

This place was excellent for service and the food and drinks! They have a variety of juices that you can pick from, including smoothies and coffee. I tried the blueberry lemon pancakes and they were phenomenal. It was not overly sweet and the pancake was cooked just right! It's highly recommended to go earlier, as they often have a long wait. Don't forget dessert! We tried the tiramisu that was vegan and gluten-free. Hands-down, it was the best tiramisu I've ever had, so full of flavor and rich. Pricing is moderate here, but you get what you pay for. Also, they have two locations, one in downtown and one in Saint Armands. The one in downtown has more variety available. I would highly recommend checking this place out if you haven't already.

I'd like to compliment the staff for their efforts on running a clean establishment. Alas, this review will be a reflection on the management. Frankly, I do not wish to dine next to animals indoors. Yet, this was allowed despite rank and file staff's objection. When the patron Michael protested being asked to sit outside, with the designer dog in the service animal vest he said "that's not how this works", and proceeds to request a manager. They then embrace in some sort of disgusting good old boys way, and allows this animal to dine next to us and my young daughter with health issues. The way management undermined staff was abhorrent. Food was serviceable for a fourth tier city.

It was so yummy! We had the raw pancake but stopped in earlier in the week for avocado toast with an egg which is another go to that we get every time we come back. Fantastic as always.
