Google
This review is for the craft cocktail making class. We had a private group of about 16. We all had the best time. The two staff/teacher/bartenders were extremely nice, personable and knowledgeable. We each got to make two drinks (most of us had more than that). All the spirits were clean and organic. They provided us with pretty much all the booze, mixers, bitters and tools we needed. Just show up, follow instructions (or don’t), make drinks and have fun. Can’t wait to go back!! The only weird thing is the fact that you can’t actually buy any liquor there to take home. Some weird old prohibition law.

First distillery tour, I’ve been on and it was worthwhile. It triggered a distillery tour bug in a me I never knew I had. For those of you who are residents of California, you’re unable to buy directly from the distillery due to some random laws, probably prohibition related. Even learnt an interesting technique to make my own spiced rum (not sharing it ofcourse).

Google
Did a coffee cocktail class here on Saturday afternoon. Lots of fun and I highly recommend. The teachers / bartenders let you explore your own creations while offering assistance. Plenty of street parking.

Fun organic distillery in DTLA. Tours and classes available, as well as private event space overlooking the distillery. All organic vodka, rum, tequila, gin, whiskey, liqueurs, and bitters. We tried the Garden Vodka and Lemon Vodka, Silver and Spiced Rum, Silver, Reposado, and Anejo Tequilas, Whiskey and Cask Strength Whiskey, the Amber Gin, and all the liqueurs: Hibiscus, Jasmine, Amaro, Orange, Ginger, and even Hops! Would definitely recommend a visit.

Google
This review is for their UN Rum and Cola non alcoholic cocktail. I haven’t tried anything else. I’m coming up on 10 years sober and like to try NA drinks sometimes. While NA will never taste as good as their potent counterparts, I’ve found some great brands and NA beers. This, unfortunately, isn’t one of them. I used to live in Puerto Rico and sometimes still crave a rum and coke so I went out on a limb and shelled out $15 for a 4 pack of these UN Rum and Cola mocktails. What a disappointment. I mean, the “cola” isn’t even coke-like. It’s yellow and the whole thing tastes like a flat, less flavorful ginger ale. Or more accurately, it tastes like what is left at the bottom of your glass after you finish a rum and coke and the ice melts into the remnants for a half hour. Made me sad. I hope this review saves someone like me from wasting their money.

Loved my tasting with Bennett, great mixologist. Tasted the Hibiscus cocktail, lovely and refreshing as well. My favorite is the lemon so of course now I have to take a mixology class and make my own at home. I do love making drinks, but buying the right ingredients and tools make a huge difference and all organic as well. The staff is lovely and truly excited to have discovered them.

Google
I have been to this distillery on a private party and a tour, and both times have been great experiences. Very cool atmosphere, super-nice staff, and the organic liquors and mixed drinks are just exceptional! I loved the ones made with hibiscus, and the delicious notes of their gin. On the tour I had a chance to meet the co-founder, and was impressed by his knowledge and passion. All in all, highly recommended.

Google
They dont sell any at this location any more but we learnt a lot about their products today and looking forward to find a place where we can get to their stuff. Spiced Rum was what we were after and we got what we planned to do this time with lots of luck.

Yelp
We came here for a company event. The appetizers and samples of the tequilas and wines are amazing. Ginger was my favorite. The 5 course dinner was also amazing. It was an Excellent private tour. Our guide was incredibly knowledgable and gave us a fantastic evening at the Greenbar Distillery. We learnt about the history, culture and much more. We are familiar with many distilleries in Cali and this one is one of the greatest. We were very happy with our tour. Time and money well invested! The waiters are very professional. The ambiance of the establishment had a great vibe! Definitely worth going again!

Yelp
I went for a private birthday party event. Started off with a tour of how they make their spirits. The owner was very informative and the staff was very friendly. Service and ambiance were great. They really took care of the place, because everywhere was nice and clean. When we were making cocktails the staff was very encouraging and wanted us to try and create new flavors with our own twist. Overall was a fun and unique experience, and I would recommend to someone who has never been.

Yelp
I went to one of their private events and it was incredibly fun and informative. I learned how to make mock tails. The staff was friendly and kind and the ambience was extremely fun and inviting, but still professional, and very clean. The drinks were very cool.

Yelp
I had an event here in October and the staff and bartenders were unprofessional and unorganized.

Yelp
The private events here are perfect for hanging out with friends while enjoying a few drinks. We were given a tour of the distillery and then a private cocktail making class where the bartenders were very welcoming and fun! Will definitely be back :)

Yelp
We did a private party here for a birthday where we learned how to make cocktails and mocktails... it was the most amazing experience and everyone was so kind and open to sharing about their business and their tips and tricks. Highly recommend Greenbar Distillery!!

Yelp
Took a tasting tour of the distillery on a Sunday afternoon when regular operations were shut down. It made for a rather boring presentation. I could barely follow the tour guide as she speaks fast and low and assumes everyone is following her (internal) references and run-on thoughts. I've gone to tons of tours of distilleries and wineries all over Europe and can understand tour guides even though they speak English as a second language because they incorporate humor, quips, and present in a loud voice. There was very little show and tell to bring alive the points about processing. For example she mentioned wheat used in making alcohol. How difficult is it to pass around a bottle of wheat kernels and point to the vats where the alcohol is fermenting? Then again there were confusing conflations. She mentioned 100 percent organic locally-procured ingredients. So where is the wheat grown locally?? Oh, except the wheat. I simply had a hard time following and keeping in mind the different information pertaining to each of the spirits and liqueurs. I wouldn't recommend this to international visitors since I am barely able to follow along. It's a shame because their products are very interesting particularly as they use organic infusing herbs and plants. For $15 in France I would have had a full flight wine tasting with nibbles and a glass of wine. Here, although they aren't allowed to give you over a certain amount of alcohol in the tasting, surely they could offer some complementary smelling/tasting experiences with food or herbs? We had a taste of five spirits (choose between three tequilas, two gins, two whiskeys, two rums, two vodkas, two amaros which are European bitter style liqueurs and a variety of herbal liqueurs.) The tequilas are made in Jalisco and their anejo aged tequila at $70 is incredibly good. Every one of their spirits is top notch I will give them that. Presentation for the price was a bit of a let down, but still an eclectic find in what is a bleak, industrial setting under a highway...very metaphorically underground Los Angeles.

Yelp
Ambiance: Spacious modern bar and distillery. Service: Tequila Tasting Loved! the staff informed us about the different types tequila, blue agave, and preparation styles. Their open and approachable nature made the experience super fun. Alcohol: Their choice of tequilas are smooth and high quality. So good sipping them un-chilled was pleasant. I usually steer away from hard alcohol, but I truly loved their product. Highly recommend! The space: I loved the layout of the entire distillery. It's very spacious, clean, and modern. In addition, there's a glass wall which provides a view of the manufacturing facility. Parking: Street Tips: Definitely ride share

Yelp
Loved the tour of Greenbar Distillery! Our guide was very knowledgeable and witty, she kept the group laughing throughout the tour. The distillery is pretty small, probably expect to spend about an hour or less for the entire tour. You get tiny tastings throughout the tour, and a few more at the very end. Because of distillery laws, they're only allowed to serve up to 6, 1/4 ounces of tastings per tour. You also cannot purchase most of their alcohol on site. Check their website for more tour info: https://greenbardistillery.com/visit-distillery/distillerytour/ Overall, it was a fun experience. I've never heard of Greenbar before but now that I've learned much about it, I'll have to seek this out at Whole Foods. Love that everything is made organically and as environmentally friendly as possible. There is plenty of free street parking. During colder weather, bring your jacket! It's cold inside the distillery.

Yelp
I'm going to admit it, I'm very biased towards another certain Arts District distillery. But, I'm still glad I visited Greenbar. I think their company story is cute and their commitment to all-organic ingredients and sustainability should be praised and admired. Plus all their offerings were delicious too. Definitely try the Jasmine liqueur! If you're coming here, take advantage of the Groupon deal to be worth the experience and liquor samplings you get. Parking is a breeze so don't worry. When you arrive, you are greeted and checked-in. Tour starts promptly and you are guided into their distillery room. The room size is modest but the power of their machines was impressive to learn about. My tour guide was amiable and open to questions, which was appreciated. The tour will cover the history of Greenbar and its bragging rights as LA's first legal distillery post-Prohibition. Then you'll go over all the the distillation machinery and their quality control process. It's interesting how they attempt 95% quality for all their products, thus, apparently a bottle produced from years ago will taste the exact same as one made today. So why 3 stars? I know legally, you're alloted only a certain amount of tastings so you don't drive drunk, etc. but I found it a bit lacking and overall unfortunate you could only try 3 other options through the 3 drink tokens they give you during check-in. Overall, the other distillery experience was just so *magical* I really can't help but compare. I think the cocktail mixing class they offer might be a better experience than just the tour with limited tastings.

Yelp
All respect to cocktailians! The whole "designing a new cocktail" thing is waaaaay harder than it looks. When my friend invited me to partake in a Cocktail Class at Greenbar Distillery, my first thought was: do I get to drink the cocktail I invent? And the answer is yeah, of course you do, if you can: my first attempt was way too heavy on the herbals for more than a few sips. While my second cocktail was a huge improvement over the first, it still lacked a certain something. Bow down to the cocktail artists of the world. So I am not a big fan of cooking in general and sometimes am challenged in the area of following directions, especially if numbers are involved. But Greenbar made the learning process so simple. Our class started with a brief lecture about the best ratios of alcohol to sweet to tart for our cocktails. Then we were provided with a worksheet to help us select our ingredients (Greenbar spirits and all organic produce were provided). We were shown step by step how to muddle, shake and pour. And it was a lot of fun. Of course, the best cocktail by far was the City of Angels we were given right at the beginning of class, compliments of the Distillery. While I do like the name of my cocktail (Tequila Thyme), astute cocktail experts will observe that an herbal is probably not the way to go with tequila. (See margaritas, all-time favorite cocktail of Americans.) The spirits and cocktail tools are all available for purchase in the Distillery. Many of the spirits are made right there in the Distillery (tours are available, call first.) And by the way, everything is locally sourced and organic when possible. Taking a cocktail class here would be a great bachelorette party idea, date idea, or girls' night out. Street parking.

Yelp
I visited Greenbar Distillery for a cocktail class through a Match.com event (not ashamed to admit it!). Although I didn't find human love, I did find the love of some liquor bottles. The staff at Greenbar greeted us warmly as we signed in and put on nametags. With about 20 of us in attendance, we stood around large tables that were covered in different types of liquor, mixers, fruits and veggies (yes, veggies!) for muddling, and garnishes. The staff member explained the different parts of a cocktail to create a balance between liquor, bitter and sweetness, naming a few common variations before letting us have it. We were able to make three cocktail experiments. It was fun chatting with folks, trying each other's drinks and even photographing our concoctions at a very specific cocktail photography station if we so desired - yes, I desired to photograph my drink. At the end of the night, you could buy the distilled-on-premises liquors and other supplies in the downstairs space. Even without the pretense of Match.com and dating, I would totally come for another class!

Yelp
Greenbar Distillery is the only distillery I have heard of in the LA area. Located in the Arts District area. They have a small parking lot and they also have free street parking. Tours are reservation only. It costs $12 for the tour. You can get a good deal on Groupon and stack the 20-25% off coupon with it. Tour was around 45 minutes with tastings. You get 6 1 oz tasters. 3 from the tour and 3 you can pick yourself. The liquors are really sweet. Whisky was not bad, not the smoothest. The tequila was pretty good, smoother than I expected. They also have an upstairs level that you can host parties at. Friendly workers, tour was cool. Worth a visit to the OG distillery of the LA area.

Yelp
My friends and I toured the Greenbar Distillery for a friend's birthday. The distillery is conveniently located in the Arts District area and it wasn't hard finding street parking nearby. We arrived late, but we easily joined the group while they were already on tour. For ~45 minutes, my friends and I listened to the Greenbar guides as they provide excellent overview of the distillery, the distilling process, the ingredients they use, and the resulting organic spirits and liqeurs. We got to sample three flavored 1 oz. tasters during the tour and another three of your choice afterwards. My favorite was the jasmine liqeur because it tasted like a sweet jasmine tea syrup. The guides were all enthusiastic with great sense of humor, which made the tour more enjoyable. Overall, I thought my first distillery tour was fun and educational. I learned a lot and had a blast with my friends as a group. My bf even bought a bottle of whiskey towards the end at the gift shop.

Yelp
This place makes an excellent product. Al of their ingredients are organic and any of their flavors are intense and clean. I often find flavored liquors to taste artificial, but I like all of theirs. My favorites are the jasmine and ginger, but also the hibiscus, but that one is more like an aperitif for me. The staff is knowledgeable and willing to help make a selection. It is housed in a beautiful space with an airy upstairs bar that overlooks barrels below in the distillery. Parking is free on the street.
google avatar

Sean Matthew L.

Yelp
Greenbar is taking the traditional concept of a distillery and twisting it while maintaining the core spirit of it all. Rooted in a desire to get his wife drunk at family events this distillery isn't just making the classics, they're pushing into infusions and making what could have just been a vodka into a spicy ginger liquor that mixes well or sips as a digestif. Asking, 'why does everyone only use white American oak for whiskey?' And answering with a blend of 5 different woods infused into their aging process to make their smooth and unwieldy 5-woods whiskey in barrel strength and diluted for those that can't hang. They started using organic ingredients simply for the stronger flavors, but then pushed further to become a carbon negative facility. Every 2 oz. pour puts them and you into a carbon neutral to negative state because they plant a tree for every bottle sold. The amount of carbon offset on the lifetime of the tree far outweighs the impact of producing the bottle, so sit back and enjoy!

Yelp
I had such a great time at the Halloween Party! We got to try their new Blood Orange Liquer, which is so delicious. I love this place. I've been several times for tours and classes. The staff is so friendly and I love that the owners have a passion for their products and that they give back to the community. The tour is fun and informative. Their classes are also great. For a fun time book a private party and enjoy their tasty libations.

Yelp
It has been more than 4 years since our last visit to Greenbar. Last time we did a tour and tasting. This time (Saturday, October 19th) we did a Tiki Drink Class at the upstairs bar. This class, which is one hour in length, was limited to 8 people. It's small intimate size and pretty reasonable price made it a good activity for this afternoon. We had an excellent host at Greenbar. I apologize that I forgot his name; however, he provided excellent information in a manner that was easy to listen to. He provided four sample drinks to each of us, sharing information on each drink and the history of tiki drinks along the way. The last two sample drinks were creations that were made by us as a group. It was a fun time, and I would definitely participate again in the future. I wish this company the best of luck!
google avatar

Joleen K.

Yelp
If you need a fun activity to do for an hour, this is your place! They start promptly at the tour time so make sure you come 15 minutes early. You can park on the street. The California law says you can only have six tasting so you try three on the tour and then you get three tokens to choose what you want. The people that work there are definitely passionate about what they do. You got a nice little history of the things that they do that are organic. you really don't move too much on this tour... You kind of just stay in the same room. I purchased the ginger liquor which would be a good mix with vodka or soda. I almost got the orange one which is really smooth and delicious.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for a $39 distillery tour and cocktail class offered by BBE. We were a bit early, because we were anxious coming to a new area. There is plenty of free street parking in front as well as a small parking lot owned by the distillery (and free) across the street. We checked in on the first level and browsed the spirits as we waited for the tour to begin. The distillery is on the first floor. Our guides, Joaquin and Josh, explained the history of the company, its use of organic ingredients, the distillation process, the infusion process, and the cask process. The facilities are incredibly clean, and the equipment is impressive. During the tour, we had a few tastes, including Grand Hops Liqueur (my personal favorite), vanilla infused vodka, white whiskey and resposado tequila. The tequila is the only product not produced in Los Angeles because it must be produced in the right DOM to be tequila. After our tour, we went upstairs for the class. Bennett went through the basics of cocktail making - 2 oz of spirit, 1 oz of sugar and 1 oz of sour. He described how to use liqueurs, how to mix spirits and where bitters may be appropriate. Then, Joaquin demonstrated a cocktail and sent us to our stations. Each student could create two cocktails from various liqueurs, spirits (rum, vodka and whiskey), fruits and veggies, herbs, simple and honey syrups, and bitters. Each person had a shaker and jigger as well as a muddler and strainer. Some of the cocktails were delish and some didn't work as well, but it was fun to try various ingredients and see how they worked together. I learned a lot! Each person left with a metal mug and a small bottle of spirits. In addition, if you bought a bottle, then you got a drink making set. Very cool! While I loved the ginger liqueur and the spiced rum, I ended up buying a bottle of gin because I had not yet had any and it is my favorite spirit. I highly recommend taking advantage of coming to a tour and class here. The spirits are well crafted and the staff is knowledgeable. A great choice!

Yelp
Correct your hours of operation. Confused why there's no indication that you're closed on a Saturday on Instagram, Yelp, or website

Yelp
I recently visited Greenbar for a tour and it was great! At $12.5 per person, the tour is a great price. During the tour, the guide describes the entire process from fermentation, distillation and infusions. And also talks about the company, how they got their start and their green initiatives. The tour includes 6 samples of their liquors, 3 of which they choose and 3 of which you can choose whichever liquors you'd like to sample. Their liquors are really good. I loved the Fruitlab Ginger liqueur. It would be great in a Moscow Mule! I also loved the reposado tequila and the Fruitlab Orange liqueur. I wasn't a big fan of their Slow Hand Whiskey, but all the other liquors I tried were great! A few other things I loved about Greenbar: -All their products are USDA organic! -They use real ingredients to produce their products. For example, they hand peeling 2,000 lemons to make a batch of their lemon vodka. -None is their products are super sweet (in a good way). -Pomegranate seeds is one of the ingredients that is fermented to make their vodka, which gives the vodka a unique creaminess. -The production area is really clean! -For every bottle sold, they plant a tree in South America, so they are a carbon footprint neutral company. Greenbar also has cocktail classes, vodka tastings and whiskey tastings! The Greenbar Distillery tour is a lot of fun, very interesting and definitely worth doing!

Yelp
My girlfriend surprised me with a cocktail class at Greenbar for my birthday and it was amazing! Parking: street, plenty cuz it's in a shady part of the Arts District They only do a couple classes each week, so be sure to reserve early! They welcome you up with a cocktail for a warm welcome and then they explain the basic formula for a standard cocktail. After a brief tutorial and exhibition, we were left to our own devices to make the cocktails of our dreams. There are many spirits (the strong stuff, aka vodka, whisky), liqueurs (flavored and less strong), fresh ingredients, and juices to choose from. You have time to make 2 drinks of your choosing, and they'll handle all the glass cleaning in between. Everyone has a great time mingling and mixing.

Yelp
Greenbar Distillery is worth a visit...great fun...excellent tour, educational to learn about how they distill and infuse and gain an appreciation for the effort they put into delivering an exceptional, purely organic, tasty product! Located in downtown LA, they offer great tours, tastings and cocktail classes. We attended a private tour and had outstanding service and enjoyed tasting six different 1-oz varities of vodka, gin, whiskey and liquers (favorites were Jasmin and Orange). Facility is located in the Arts District area and there is easy parking available. Tours are reservation only (check out Groupon for a coupon, etc). Tour takes about 45 minutes with tastings and you have the pleasure of indulging in about 6 one ounce tastings of your favorites. They also offer a very nice looking and well designed upstairs level that you can host parties at or sign up for cocktail mixing lessons, etc. Overall great experience and worth a visit!

Yelp
Greenbar is amazing. What a nice distillery and distillery tour. I purchased a groupon for my friends and I and we had a great time. You can clearly see the time and effort they put into making this place a gem, and it is. Our tour guides were quite knowledgeable, which we expected. The tastings were great and it was all organic so even better. The bottles are pricey but I see why and it's worth it. There's plenty of street parking and they have a lot. The distillery is in a remote part of somewhat downtown but no issues. This is definitely a could thing to add to the to-do list if ever you have friends in town.

Yelp
I signed up for the Cocktails for Lovers experience and my wife and I loved it. Cocktails for Lovers is an attempt to craft the perfect cocktail for you and your significant other. Bennett, our mixologist and the tasting room manager, had read the questionnaire I had completed online during registration and was prepared with some signature cocktail suggestions. During the process of determining our signature cocktail, we tasted a number of Greenbar's spirits and smelled their homemade bitters. Over the course of 90 minutes, we honed in on a perfect cocktail, came to appreciate the unique flavors of Greenbar's Bright Gin and Vodka, and left with booze and a recipe to create our cocktail at home. I highly recommend the Cocktail for Lovers class or just a tour of the distillery.

Yelp
Parking: loads of parking in front of this distillery. Tour: we paid around $15 per person for the tour and there was also a service charge. We came for an afternoon your, the two host were really great and attentive. We basically had a few tastings of what they made. Walked downstairs for a tour and went back up to try a few more tastings of our choice. Their product are all natural and made from organic ingredients. I found it fun and interesting to go with friends. I would suggest that they sell their product on the tour at a discount because their prices were not different from when you'd buy it from the store. You may also host parties here.

Yelp
What a fun tour I had. I subscribe to 2bit Circus and saw this in one of their newsletters and felt compelled to check it out. They're the first distillery in LA. Props to that. I learned so much today about alcohol business, and their organic fusions are literally amaze. I want to come back and try their cocktail classes! Bartender gigs here I come! JK- but check this out. It's a cool date idea plus you get some token to try their different spirits. My personal fave is their craft amaro and their ginger.

Yelp
First time at a distillery and it was surprisingly entertaining, educational, and tasty! I purchased a groupon for Greenbar since my bf enjoys whiskey and he has been wanting to visit a distillery. When we arrived, it looked a little sketchy outside but once we got inside, it was fine. Parking is plentiful on the street and they have a small lot across from their building. Our tour guides gave us the history of Greenbar and then came the tastings. I do have to say that I can really taste the difference in quality from other "flavored" alcohols I have tried. We started off with the orange and it really tasted like orange. Our tour guides told us that they hand zest the oranges to infuse the flavor into the alcohol. My bf, an avid whiskey drinker, loved the 6 oak aged whiskey. He said that it was smooth and that he could really taste the difference that using 6 different types of oak made in the drink. He ended up buying a bottle of this and for $30, it was a great deal. Definitely give this place a try! With the Groupon deal, makes it even better!

Yelp
I had so much fun visiting this all organic distillery. They offer a couple of cocktail classes. Be aware you do not make the drinks yourself you just observe and taste. Staff if so great. Defiantly worth the visit if you're in the area or looking for some place fun to go.

Yelp
Amazing spirits, amazing location, and amazing people. An incredible source for local, organic, sustainable spirits in a great location for events, tours, and cocktail classes. My wife and I have been to half a dozen events here and they've never failed to impress and our bar is thoroughly stocked with a slew of Greenbar products (most notably their Slow Hand Whiskey and their Bright City Gin). Everyone on staff is incredibly friendly and well informed and we always learn something new with every visit (thanks to Robert for being a great guide during our last tour!). Whether you're going for a tasting or if you want to book the space for an upcoming event, I can't recommended Greenbar highly enough!

I took my boyfriend here as a surprise date. It was cool! The tour guide was really sweet, and the tastings were delicious. And bonus, I learned some interesting facts along the way. It's a fun way to spend an hour of our time before heading out downtown.

Yelp
Greenbar recently hosted our company holiday party and it was perfect! We may just record this as the best one yet! The tour was awesome-thanks for the animation Joaquin! Everyone loves what they do and it shows through their work ethic. There is passion everywhere in that place! We rented the Skybox room and the bartenders were super cool, professional, knowledgeable and quick. Our party consisted of 55 guests (all drinkers) and with only two bartenders serving, you would think there would be quite a wait considering everyone approached the bar at once, but there wasn't. The service was not compromised under any circumstance, and the drinks were all so delicious! So, please let them host your next event. We had a caterer, music, tables and chairs, the whole shebang! Thank you Litty and Bennett for the hospitality. See you again, soon!

Yelp
Go to Greenbar. That is all. Just kidding, you all know I can't keep my mouth shut about places that I'm obsessed with. My husband did a stop here for his bachelor party. He hosted a private party here for his birthday. We came here for their Black Friday special event and won all the prizes. Then we came here again today for Fathers Day. Needless to say, there is always a reason to stop by Greenbar in our household. This place does a really nice job of hosting special events. They decorate. They set up games. Today they had delicious artisan ice cream for us to try. I had a strawberry and black pepper ice cream -- yum! This place is just so different from other bars. Any chance you have to grab a drink here, do it! It is definitely the oldest Distillery in LA and at one point was the only one in town. They make their own stuff and it's sooo good. My favorite drink here is a lemon vodka with lavender bitters. It might sound strange but the combo is fantastic. My husband loves the Cask Strength Slow Hand Whiskey, though when I asked him what his favorite was he vacillated between that and Ixa Anejo Tequila. Indecisive men, am I right?!? The staff here is really fun and personable. Jess hosted our private party and she was just on the top of her game the whole night. Everyone had a blast and raves about the night. Thanks again for a fun party, Greenbar!

Yelp
Went on the tour and loved it. This place is super cute. I was so impressed by their efforts to conserve and give back. I learned quite a bit about the process of making their amazing and organic spirits. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Awesome experience. Most importantly, the booze was delicious! I tried the vanilla vodka, hibiscus liqueur, grand poppy, orange liqueur, silver tequila and another vodka that was savory...can't remember the name. They were all great. I like sweet drinks so my faves were the vanilla vodka and the liqueurs. I have to say that the tequila was exceptional. My husband loved the gin and the grand poppy. We purchased a bottle of the lemon vodka and can't wait to whip up some fresh cocktails at home.

Yelp
me and my wife had an excellent time. The tour guide gave us a wonderful, precise history of the distillery and how they were different from other distilleries. We are very health conscience and were impressed by the way the made the product. Highly recommend.

Yelp
I've been to this place a few times over the years. However, since the laws changed in Los Angeles about what a distillery can and can't do, I don't think it's worth going for a tour anymore. We are no longer able to buy any of the bottles from Greenbar and the price for the quick tour and tasting is too high if you don't get a groupon rate. The tour seems rushed to and not as fun as used to be. You used to be able to have the tasting in a nice room overlooking the distillery and smelling all the different types of bitters. That does not happen. My suggestion for this place would be to only charge between $5-10 a person for the tour and tasting and for them to move the tasting room back to where it should be. The distillery also adds only organic ingredients for the flavors. They should offer a chance to taste those flavors or smell them as well as be able to try the new spritzers. Overall, the different flavors are amazing, but the tour needs to be revamped.

Yelp
I came to Greenbar Distillery for a tour of the facilities by myself like the saddest person in the world (I was there mostly doing "research" for a script and yes, I had to put "research" in quotation marks because alcohol was naturally, part of it). There was abundant street parking. The foyer where I waited was hip, clean and full of cool merch from t-shirts to flavored bitters to the distillery's bottles of vodka and whiskey. The tour started promptly on time. Observed by Litty, one of the owners, two fun and upbeat employees took our small group on the crusade within the facility, where they covered things like: the origin story, equipment presentation and of course, the reasons why their distillery is awesome. And clearly, it is! Knowing that the liquors and the whiskey I tasted came from organic ingredients with a lot of eco-awareness behind it, only made everything taste better. The ginger liquor was my favorite. But I ended up buying a bottle of whiskey for my boyfriend and leaving before I got too buzzed. What a lovely place! Definitely worth a visit, especially for a mere $12 per person.

Yelp
Give this place a shot...because they will give you one! We had a great time and really enjoyed the tour, tasting and good natured banter and serious discussion about a serious subject...drinking. We left with a nice bottle and actually tried more of their products down the street at Eat, Drink Americano a short time later...good stuff, distinct and honest flavors. Bonus alert! Between their efforts at environmentally friendly processes and the fact that they plant a tree for every bottle sold - you are pretty much carbon neutral for a day when you drink Greenbar liquors! I'll drink to that...again.

Yelp
This place is totally cool--a distillery right in the middle of the arts district. Upstairs there is a bar that overlooks the machinery and casks where they make the spirits and downstairs you can tour the distillery, buy products, and take a cocktail class. We especially enjoyed the class, which was led by Nick and Jess and was all about demystifying the drink making and quaffing experience. They had all sorts of ingredients so people could get creative: things like fennel, black berries, lemongrass, vanilla beans, and more standard things like grapefruit, lemon, and lime. We ended up buying some of the ginger liquor to bring home. All of their products are well priced in the under $30 range. They have a free parking lot across the street that accommodates about ten cars, which is nice.

Yelp
I found a deal on Gilt City for a private tour of Greenbar distillery and a tasting. I cannot express how much fun my friends and I had! Our tour guide, Bennet, was fantastic. He clearly has great passion for what he does. He has an incredible knowledge of craft spirits and his enthusiasm is contagious. We tasted everything and every spirit was truly amazing. The care and detail put into each one is apparent. For instance, they actually hand zest the lemons for their Tru Lemon Vodka. They hand split the vanilla bean pods for their Tru Vanilla Vodka. The Crusoe Spiced Rum is complex and delicious. The Fruitlab Ginger Liquor is sweet, spicy and insanely good! Their Bar Keep Lavender Bitters would taste great in lemonade or on vanilla ice cream (thanks for the tip, Bennett!) They also do cocktail parties there and cheese and whiskey tastings. I will definitely be back!

Yelp
Drove up with my husband today, from Temecula. I love Greenbar's Tru Gin, but wanted to try their whole line up, and my husband had not had their stuff before. We signed up for a tour, which was great! They do tour sign ups online or by calling ahead, only on Saturdays. Chris and Bennett are incredibly knowledgeable on the whole distilling process and do a great job of explaining their process and innovative takes. I work in the alcohol industry and I found their tour wonderfully fun. As you go through their Distillery they talk about their different products an differ you tastes throughout the tour, no having to wait until the end on this one! Grand Poppy, Orange Brandy/liqueur, Slow Hand whiskeys and Grand Hops ... They give you a punch card and you can choose your last 2 tastes for the day once you get upstairs to their tasting room. Best part, your punch card has 6 more tastes on it for you to use another day (due to CA liquor laws) for free. So with your tour you receive 12 samples for their products! Once you are in the tasting room, which over looks the Distillery floor, they will walk you through all of their products you havent already heard about and you can choose your last 2 samples. All products are available in their shop to purchase, including some "Distillery only" available products! (Neutral Brandy, Spiced Neutral Brandy, and the Slow Hand 6 Woods Cask Whiskey) Cannot wait to go back. We had a great time and the hospitality, service and knowledge was unbelievable!

Yelp
I couldn't help but notice a gentleman's club called "The PlayPen" on my way to Greenbar Distillery. Greenbar is located in an "industrialized" area of LA where most people don't really wander at night. Luckily, I was dropped off by Lyft to this place. If you are planning to drive here, there is a small parking lot directly across from the distillery and street parking However, I would recommend that you probably don't bring your car here as the area is somewhat sketchy. I came here for their "Bar Keep Tales" event. It was really fun to listen to bartenders speak about their most memorable bartending stories. The tasting space is on the second floor. I really liked the intimate feel of the space. You can peer through the glass windows upstairs to view the distillery downstairs. It appears from their website that they have Skybox tastings on Fridays and Saturdays from 1-6pm and tours on Saturdays by reservation. I would call to confirm their hours since their website has conflicting information about their hours. I have to say that their alcohol is comparable to other mainstream alcohol. At least I didn't wake up with a hangover which is a good sign that they use good ingredients in their distillery. Hopefully they continue to have more community events and have expanded hours into the evening hours.

Yelp
I attended an event here and had a chance to taste several of their spirits, alone and in cocktail form. The staff is very friendly and passionate about their products. The distillation process is quite interesting. They sell a variety of organic spirits - my personal favorite is the ginger liqueur, made of fresh ginger. It's a great addition to spice up a Moscow mule. I do prefer traditional liquors over their fare, but it's nice to try different things. parking - free street parking
