The Best Pastries on the Upper East Side | Eater NY

"I have fond childhood memories of Greenberg’s — my father bringing home 22-cent fudgy brownies, my mother the sticky, caramel-shellacked schnecken for breakfast, and my grandmother buying small layer cakes — so it pained me to see it changed beyond recognition: the once-thin buttery cookies are pallid and dusty in dingy plastic, the brownies and decorated cakes no longer resemble what they used to be, and the shop now leans into hyped rainbow black-and-whites (which took off after Ina Garten praised them) rather than the classics. The schnecken survives, but trying both the original and the mini felt like the opposite of a Proustian madeleine — a reminder that things aren’t what they were." - Charlotte Druckman

This place is located inside New York New York casino. Service is very quick. There are a few booths inside and other tables are located outside of the deli. You order at the desk and they work very quickly to get your order ready. You are not waited on here. There was no wait when we were here, but no seating available inside the deli. The food was very good. I recommend their matzo ball soup and the New York Skyhigh sandwich. Oh, the potato salad is pretty good too.

Omg! So delish! Ordered the beef and cheese and cornbeef Reuben! Hot and fresh! Toasted bread was soft and crunchy! We loved every bite!

Stopped by Greenberg Deli in New York New York and grabbed their beef brisket sandwich for $16. The brisket itself was spot on—great texture and rich flavour. The sourdough bread was surprisingly soft, unlike anything I’ve had before. I asked for a mayo and mustard combo, but the mustard was a bit light—could’ve used a bit more punch, it felt a bit dry overall. That said, the sandwich was huge, definitely sharable between two people. Bonus points for the pickle on the side. Great spot if you’re craving a hefty, deli sandwich!

We walked over to Newyork Newyork and grabbed a bite to eat at Greenberg's deli. I had the Italian stallion, and my hubby had the Newyork skyhigh. Oh, how surprised we were with the amount of meat on each. We were not disappointed, both delicious and satisfying.

Google
This place was amazing. I ordered the roast beef and cheddar. My sister ordered the Italian Stallion and our friend ordered the Rueben.

One of the best deli sandwiches I have ever had! Located in the New York New York hotel, this NY style deli did not disappoint one bit. The bread and ingredients were so authentic. Everything is so savory and just melts in your mouth. Also, the atmosphere really makes you think you are in NY having a sandwich. The service was very fast, and the workers were all so friendly. They even let us know a few of their favorites as suggestions. This will be a must on all of our future trips to Vegas.

Brian Shaler

Google
Not the best deli sandwich I’ve ever had but the pastrami on rye was still pretty darn good. And still one of the better meals I had in Vegas. The chicken noodle soup, though, was legit. The prices here aren’t atrocious. I’d come here every day if the family would allow.

Google
I had a great sandwich from here! I almost felt like I was eating on the streets of New York! The sandwich was fairly big, so it was plenty to eat. It also came with a whole pickle, which went with the sandwich perfectly. The people working there were very friendly. Overall, this was a great experience with a lot of food for the money!

Yelp
Awesome sky high sandwich. Matsaball soup! Great price! Loved it!!!!!!! New York New York Hotel

Yelp
Keeping it short, this deli, (the one inside NY NY hotel on the strip), has exceptional food, excellent service, and is always busy. Even at midnight or after? Highly recommended. 'Nough said. (They have another location on Paradise Rd.

Yelp

Yelp
When staying in New York New York hotel, we were intrigued to find there was a New York deli in the casino. We knew we had to try as my dad was born and raised in New York. All the staff were very friendly and loved the cozy outdoor patio feel, though it's in the casino. Great theming like Disneyland! We ordered: Greenberg's Reuben Egg Salad Sandwich (not pictured) Black and White Cookie All were very tasty and really enjoyed the Black and White Cookie. Definitely on of my favorite quick dining spots in the Las Vegas strip.

Yelp
I recently enjoyed a meal at Greenberg and Sons Deli in the New York-New York Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, and I can't recommend it enough! The corned beef was incredibly flavorful and fatty, with each tender bite showcasing classic deli goodness. They cut the meats to order, ensuring freshness, and the prices were surprisingly reasonable. The deli has a charming vibe that makes you feel like you're in New York City. While the staff was generally friendly, I did have a brief issue with water cups, but a manager promptly sorted it out. If you're in the area and craving delicious corned beef, Greenberg and Sons Deli is a must-visit spot to fuel up for a fun day on the Strip!

Yelp
If you're up early (or stayed up until the morning), check out this deli for breakfast! On the strip and Inside New York New York is this little gem serving up deli treats to hungry people! The line was long, but worth it (Sunday morning at 10:30am). There was 5 people working, but the breakfast sandwiches took longer because they have to cook eggs and such. I ordered the NYC Deli Burrito (Pastrami, Corned Beef, Swiss, and tortilla) and coffee for $8.95. Flavor - on point for a deli! Delivery? Eh....my burrito wasn't rolled correctly (end wasn't tucked in so started to fall apart). Only reason I can't give 5 stars, and, ONLY reason is it did take a bit to get my burrito despite 5 guys working. I would assume if you're having breakfast that takes longer to give us a number (deli counter ticket) so we're not standing around waiting and holding up the line

Yelp
Food was delicious, I was really impressed with my sandwich and my matzah ball soup, I also loved the portions. Fun feel on the inside, great New York theme. Service was a little dismissive and the line to order food got confusing during the lunch hour. Still a great meal.

Yelp
I love Greenberg's deli inside the New York New York hotel and casino. I eat there at least once every trip and this time we ate there twice! We always get the club sandwich with chips, because it's so big there's plenty of food for two of us. And their pickles are some of my favorite! The prices are about the same as most of the food joints in that area and service is always fast and efficient. It's a really good place to get a somewhat healthy meal. And it tastes great! They are touting genuine New York deli food and from what I've seen, it is!
google avatar

Yelp
Two breakfast burritos and 2 coffees for less than $20? Excellent deal for breakfast on the strip. They were busy but it moved very fast. Burritos hit the spot (both veggie and pastrami) for sure! In my opinion it wasn't necessarily spectacular but it's a solid meal to fuel you for a day out on the strip. Definitely keep this place in mind for a low priced fast breakfast. Even back home you'd be hard pressed to find a hot breakfast for that price.
google avatar

Yelp
The best deli in LV! They are consistently making fat sandwiches and the prices are reasonable. Even better when they take MGM food comps! The customer service makes it even better. I highly recommend the Sky High NY sandwich that has the best shaved pastrami and their bread is always fresh. Definitely a must if you want a budget friendly meal.

Yelp
I've dined at Greenberg's Deli a few times recently, and it's been a consistently good experience. I tried the Italian Stallion sandwich and the beef and cheddar melt, both of which were generously portioned and packed with flavor. The deli has a cute setting that captures the essence of New York, and there's ample seating available, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy your meal. The pricing is decent for the quality and portion sizes, and the staff is nice and efficient, ensuring a smooth dining experience. If you're in the area and looking for fresh, delicious deli food, I highly recommend checking out Greenberg's Deli!

Yelp
When in NYC, I gotta eat me a deli sandwich. Same for when I'm in NYNY- Vegas. Our first stop here was disappointing as the quantity of pastrami was seriously lacking. Our 2nd foray was better cuz we ordered the sandwich called the sky high. While it did not come close to gigantic sandwiches we've had in NYC and Philadelphia, there was plenty of pastrami, corned beef & turkey, more befitting of its name and $17 price tag. Service was New York-ish and ya gotta love the faux NYC sidewalk scene provided in the NYNY food court, all dark & bustling. Given the prices of the other eateries in the area, the sky high is actually a decent value. Cuz the bread isn't toasted and the meat is stacked, you might wanna choose a bread with substance (e.g., French roll).

Yelp
Staff was efficient and nice. We got our order quickly. Sat at a booth inside the deli, but there was seating outside and on the side - all inside MGM Grand Hotel. That's good since it was 102° outside. The Caesar salad was excellent. Lots of chicken, and even though I have never had small tomatoes with a Caesar before, I liked them! Husband says his corned beef was okay. He would have liked more meat and the bread could have been softer. It was dry and he didn't eat all of it. He DID eat all the meat. Prices were decent. Smoke from the casino irritated my nose, and I did not see anyone smoking. Residual smoke? Oh well.

Yelp
The service was fast and efficient. The sandwich was filling and large. I had the hot turkey with cheese. It was filling on its own. For the price it is a decent amount of food. For sides they have a few options but most people looked like they just chose the bag of chips. The sandwich also comes with a delicious pickle. There thing had some crunch! I would come back but there are so many options in the area Lots of seating right outside of where you order. Recommended.

Yelp
This place is good. No, I mean Goooooood! Best deli sandwich I've had in years! We got the New York Sky High (or Mile High). The pickles are excellent too, so glad I asked for an extra one. It was big enough to share and I do not like to share my food. I'm going to be dreaming about pastrami and pickles. I ate super slow so that the goodness would last longer.

Yelp
My all time favorite sandwich shop. Whether it's the corn beef, the pastrami or beef and cheddar you just can't go wrong here. Always fresh and hot and some of the best marble rye bread you will find. It's hard to choose just one and sometimes I find myself ordering two separate sandwich's just to appease the taste buds.
google avatar

Yelp
Alyssa-Nicole has amazing customer service. It really seems like she cares about people. I want to make sure I write this review RIGHT NOW so I don't forget to address her. We got the vinnie's deluxe Sandwich? So yummy. And the soup!! The have chicken noodle and matzoh ball soup. Haven't seen that ever in a store. Gotta be friends with Jewish people to get that "luxury" haha Alyssa-Nicole did me the honor of indulging me with both noodles and a matzah ball with chicken noodle broth. That made my day.

Yelp
Greenberg's Deli is worth a try if you're looking for a quick bite. They are located on the casino floor near the Sportsbook.. I ordered the Greenberg's Reuben, which you can get with pastrami or corned beef. Their pastrami is incredibly tender and the thick cuts give a classic deli feel. The rye bread is nothing special. The butchers who make the sandwiches keep the line moving, so don't be discouraged if you see a line of people. The sandwich came with a side pickle which was good balance to the sandwich. Service is friendly My sandwich was good but I don't have the strong urge to have it again

Yelp
Stopped in after the show and loaded up on the Sam & Emma's with extra dressing. Sandwich from hades. This is the one you want. Iced tea is broken so we settled for water. The Matzoh ball soup is a boring broth with a small ball chucked in. It's salty but definitely yummy enough. Since the people are always great, it was a great idea and we actually got a table in the deli, proper. That's rare! 05/24

Yelp
We were in Vegas and didn't want a fancy sit down dinner and a good sandwich sounded amazing. The service was quick even with having a line. Our sandwiches were so good and I can't name a place back home that gives you this much meat for under $15! We also came once for breakfast. They have a deal where you get a croissant breakfast sandwich and coffee (they also had a burrito option) for under $10.
google avatar

Tamieka B.

Yelp
One word...Amazing!!! We always stop in to NYNY to get the classic Reuben on Rye (1/2 Pastrami 1/2 Corn beef & extra Sauerkraut). Yet, today we ordered the beef chedder melt and it was awesome. Fresh garlic focaccia with beef, cheese, lettuce, onions, tomatoes & mushrooms. Add some spicy mustard and thank me later. If you're looking for a genuine New York style deli, this is your spot. Service is fast and the staff is friendly. Enter freely, they've been approved

Yelp
My husband and I scooter bugged over from the Luxor to go to this deli. We are very happy with our sandwiches, warm, shaved pastrami and turkey and roast beef on marble rye. We also had chicken noodle soup, I would recommend this deli for lunch or dinner $$.

Yelp
Sandwiches for lunch! [Las Vegas NV] When we were not able to ride the roller coaster on our first attempt at the Big Apple we decided to grab lunch before heading out to our next attraction. We wanted something fast and there was no line at the time. I ordered a BLT on sourdough bread and hubby chose the Roast Beef on rye. The prices were very reasonable for a casino and the sandwiches were delicious. Lots of bacon on my BLT. Originally, we were going to share a sandwich but glad we each got one because turned out we were both hungry! LoL! There were some booth seating indoors but there were plenty of seating outside too. The ambiance of the place brings customers back to the bustling streets of New York City... the deli is between "Broadway and Wall Streets" inside the casino The interior design reminds me of a classic deli with a city corner atmosphere. We would definitely go back there again if we end up on the southern part of the Strip. Review #3410

Yelp
I wanted to check Greenbergs out because living in Oceansides California there are not a lot of Jewish delis around. I go to Milton's in Delmar which I love and just wanted to compare. Greenbergs was a little less expensive but the quality was just not there. The corned beef had a lot of fat and there was not that much meat on the sandwich. I ordered a Rueben. I was also a little disappointed that my Diet Pepsi in a bottle was 6 dollars. I was not expecting it.
google avatar

Paul O.

Yelp
Had the Reuben sandwich and chicken noodle soup as I was sick the entire day and it really hit the spot. The noodles in the soup were a bit undercooked, but I would imagine if the soup was hotter, it would have cooked it a bit more. I had the corned beef sandwich, it was great. A lot of meat, very tasty. Service was quick, will be back

Yelp
Greenberg's is my favorite spot for hot pastrami. Yes, I'm Local. Yes, it's in a casino. I have eaten a lot of pastrami in my life and this is my favorite one. Other locals will argue and say it isn't. That's fine. I go here when I want a legit pastrami sandwich. It's tender, fatty, and flavorful. I love that I can get it on marble rye and that I don't have to wait for anyone to bring it to me. It's about $20. I get it. A lot of things are $20 in Vegas and a lot of those other things are not good. The one complaint I have? This place has Pepsi products but that's not their fault. The majority of the properties on The Strip serve Pepsi. Anyway, that's it. Get the pastrami. I cannot vouch for anything else.

Yelp
Greenberg's Deli Greenberg's Deli located in the New York-New York Hotel, is dope. The deli offers a cute theme reminiscent of a classic New York deli, which adds a charming touch to the overall ambiance. The service was impressively fast, which is always a plus when you're hungry and eager to enjoy your meal. The sandwiches were the highlight of my visit - they were not only delicious but also generously stuffed with meat, making each bite flavorful and satisfying. I tried the New York Skyhigh (16.95), which was packed with corned beef, pastrami, turkey, cole slaw, and Thousand Island dressing. The combination of flavors and textures was excellent, and it was quite filling. I also had Vinnie's Deluxe for (16.95) featuring beef brisket, turkey, pastrami, and muenster with deli mustard and mayonnaise. This sandwich was equally impressive, with the brisket and muenster standing out as particularly delicious components. Greenberg's Deli offers a great deli experience with its quick service, cute environment, and fantastic sandwiches.

Yelp
First try at Greenberg's with a pastrami on white and a soda. $25 out the door w tip. Price a few bucks above value. Pastrami was fresh and fair amount. Bread held up OK, but a tad soggy. Pickle was crisp and a decent compliment. Would try it again with rye. Deli atmosphere in the middle of a food court at the NYNY. Service OK, tho the server said they were out of carved meats. I was ready to go disappointed and the kitchen showed up with hot pastrami just in the nick of time. This was 3.5 stars, and went with 3 stars on the price/value ratio.
google avatar

Karen W.

Yelp
I ordered Greenberg's Reuben sandwich. I was very disappointed that there was very little pastrami. It came with a decently sized pickle, which was a nice touch. I probably should have ordered the hot pastrami sandwich instead. The pastrami was good but I have had much better pastrami in NY or PA.
google avatar

Marjorie H.

Yelp
Was looking around for a quick bite to eat, and stumbled upon Greenberg's Deli. I was really looking for some kind of sandwich, so decided to try this place out. Wow! It was really good. The staff behind the counters are quick to take your order and start your sandwiches. The deli has all the feels of a true New York style place that you would expect to find in New York City. Quick, good food, and decently priced for the size of the sandwich given that everything on the Las Vegas Strip is more expensive. I would definitely stop again to try out one of their other sandwich options.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing quality and quantity in all of their sandwiches! Friendly staff. Very fun New York street atmosphere. Unbelievable yumminess!

Yelp
A must when in Vegas if you love sandwiches! Located inside New York New York. This place always has a line. Literally a deli. Specializes in sandwiches with freshly sliced meat. They also have soups and deserts and a few other sides. You order the sandwich you want and wait to the side. Once they get to your sandwich the person making it calls out the order and confirms your order. They complete your order and hand it to you in a plate. If you order it to go they will put it in a to go container. Once you get your order you can grab condiments you want from the cart. Then you go to the cashier and pay. Condiments- to the right if the cashier there is a cart with condiments (mayo, mustard etc), and napkins and utensils. Note: if you want spicy mustard you can ask for it when you place your order. SANDWICHES: Vinnies Deluxe- This has a lot of protein! Alll the meats are delicious Turkey Toaster- This is the one I get. I love it! With extra mayo and spicy mustard The sandwiches will always be delicious and fresh. I stayed full almost all day even with all the walking we did.

Yelp
There are a number of foods and establishments that people think of when they think New York. As a local myself, one thing that comes to mind is our delis. Deli food is common throughout the city and I'm glad to say that this joint was able to replicate its flavour. Go on and get yourself a Reuben on rye - with pastrami! Taste: 4.5/5 Ambience: 4/5 Service: 3.5/5 Value for money: 4/5

Yelp
The New York New York Hotel and Casino has done a great job bringing a New York atmosphere to the restaurants and food. One of those food choices, Greenberg's Deli, has a variety of deli sandwiches. My choice on this day was the Corned Beef sandwich. This was one of the best Corned Beef sandwiches I've ever had. I'm hard-pressed to think of a better one. The corned beef had a small addition of pepper, positively adding to the wonderful beef taste. I ordered the sandwich with spicy mustard, which was present, but adding a couple of spicy mustard packets made it an almost perfect sandwich. There were several bread choices, I went with marbled rye, which worked well with the beef. The person I was having lunch with ordered a BLT. Their comment was that it had more bacon than any BLT they had ever had! Which is a good thing. Here you get BACON, lettuce, and tomato. This was a BLT, not a LTB or TLB sandwich! The inside of the deli was very warm. We found a table just outside where it was much cooler and more comfortable. Service was excellent and everyone making the sandwiches were very attentive to customer requests. This is a must place to revisit the next time I'm in Las Vegas.
google avatar

Ashley R.

Yelp
The Reuben is amazing! We go every time we're in Vegas. It's a must! And if you're a pickle lover, they're delicious too!

Yelp
Ok, I've never actually had a deli sandwich in New York, but I sure hope that those local places have food as good as this gem hidden in the middle of the New York New York hotel food court. They shave the fresh steaming pastrami for each and every order right there in front of you (safely behind glass) so you the the actual meat being put on your sandwich. Best one is the New York Skyhigh Sandwich which has just the right proportions of pastrami, corned beef and turkey. The pastrami dominates, as you would expect, so the corned beef and turkey balance out the strong pastrami taste. The cole slaw and thousand island round out this outstanding creation. Don't worry, it's not crazy big, but most average people might want to share it. Beware that the delicious, soft rye does start to break up a bit, so make sure you have a fork handy. Service is great. The folks work hard there behind the counter. You can get it to go or enjoy it in the nearby food court.
google avatar

Josie G.

Yelp
If you're staying at NYNY hotel - this is the deal I've found so far for breakfast! $8.95 for a croissant sandwich (honestly about 2x as big as a breakfast sandwich from Starbucks) and a coffee! The coffee is strong but a little burnt tasting, with some cream it's pretty good though! The lines moves a little slow, but worth the wait in my opinion! There's seating just outside the deli and it's a nice little quiet spot to enjoy your HUGE breakfast sandwich! The breakfast specials also had other options besides the breakfast croissant, that's just what we got.
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
In my opinion, this place is a hidden gem. This unassuming deli has delicious food! Their portions are also very generous. I shared a two meat hot sandwich with pastrami and corned beef. We also added provolone cheese on marble rye bread. It was flavorful and delicious! The sandwich was more than enough for us. It came with a small pickle, which was ok. The price was also quite reasonable considering the portion size. This is a great grab-and-go spot with seats nearby. The staff are also friendly and efficient. I will be back.
google avatar

Denise H.

Yelp
My first meal in Las Vegas (after check in and some entertainment of course) was the super plentiful beef and cheddar from Greenberg's Deli at New York New York. Hot, tasty sandwich that I could not finish (and I was starving by then)! Meat was plentiful. I loved the pickle that was included. Not a bad price for being on the strip! The lady making the sandwich was friendly and I was able to easily find seating around the restaurant (aka - the streets of NY, NY ). I will definitely eat here again.
google avatar

Krys A.

Yelp
The Ruben hits the spot. Hands down one of the greatest sandwiches I've ever had in my whole life. The service is great, the staff is friendly and the atmosphere is super relaxed. I was on a one day trip, and they told me I had to hit this spot, so I did, and IF I ever go back to Vegas it will only be to eat great food because VEGAS SUCKS.
google avatar

Sabrina S.

Yelp
Greenberg's had been on our list and mind for days! So when we finally got here to order pastrami, we were disappointed to find out none was to be had as they were out and it was on order. No sign was posted. We almost walked away, but we were starving, so we ordered and shared a custom brisket and corned beef sandwich on rye. Lemme tell ya it was absolutely deelish. High quality, thinly sliced meats piled high and flavorful. The sandwich was like no other. Now I'm dreaming of pastrami lol

D K.

Yelp
Poor experience... sandwich isn't what it used to to be now it's lunch meat style and what you pay for you should get good quality meats shaved. Employees messed up sandwich four times.
google avatar

Lily F.

Yelp
My favorite place that we come to on our vacation. They have the best pastrami sandwich with piles of pastrami which melts in your mouth.
google avatar

Ben C.

Yelp
Greenberg's Deli at New York New York Casino in Vegas is my go-to spot. Their pastrami/roast beef sandwich is unbeatable. Packed with flavor, every bite is a treat of juicy pastrami/roast beef/Turkey, all between fresh bread. I crave it every time I'm in Vegas.
google avatar

Hitesh N.

Yelp
Found this place on Yelp. It's in NY-NY. There was a long for ordering food so we thought it would be good. They had good breakfast deal - $10 for sandwich and coffee. Sandwich was ok. Not bad. Coffee was the same. Service was a bit slow and for some reason they were getting confused with all the orders. Not sure why. You could take your food and sit at any if the tables inside or outside. No table service here. Not bad option as most other places either had a big line or very expensive.
google avatar

Samuel O.

Yelp
This place is the last of the good pastrami/jewish delis that i know of in vegas. This is about as close to katz deli in ny as you can get. They have big pastrami and corned beef sandwich with rye and all the fixins. Also i love the matzoh ball soup! You will not be disappointed. Its a little hard to find. Its downstairs in the nyny casino.
google avatar

Jeff B.

Yelp
Great place to get your NY deli fix. Lots of bread choices with a variety of meats that are sliced when you order. Some of my favorites are the Vinnie Deluxe, Pastrami, Corned Beef, and the turkey club...yes, I've been here a few times. The sandwiches are huge, so com e hungry or share. Half a sandwich and a bowl of soup hits the spot for me. They have Matzah ball soup as well as chicken noodle soup, both are great. Sandwiches come with a dill pickle, chips, etc. are extra. Bottled soda and water are your drink options. What I really miss from NYC, which they used to have is egg cream drinks. I love those but I suppose not enough people ordered them. They're missing out, and now that Greenberg's dropped them, we're all missing out. Long lines at times but it moves relatively quickly. Good food. Seating in common area sometimes an issue. Overall a solid choice.
google avatar

Dolly V.

Yelp
Passable deli for Vegas. Scratches the itch if you're craving some pastrami. The pastrami is really fatty though and the sandwiches are pricy, but what isn't pricy here.
google avatar

Grace L.

Yelp
My hubby has been wanting to try this place since last year. Couldn't make it last year. Lines get long. And you have only so many meals when one is in town. But this year we made it happen. It's quite busy in there. Hardly any sitting room but today for a late lunch the line wasn't too bad and there was 1 booth open. Someone got up so we snagged it while he went to order. Wow can we say hallelujah! The pastrami sandwich was a hit. So tasty, tender, juicy, pretty perfect. I liked how they stuffed it generously. Everything is pretty pricy in Vegas and most aren't worth but we think $15 for this sandwich although a bit steep in other cities was justified here. It tasted great. Can even be shareable if you wanted a nice snack between meals. Doesn't come with chips nor drink as with most Vegas spots. But at least it's tasty! Definitely would go back here for a quick bite. Didn't try anything else since we snacked our way through the hotels and had other lunches and good eats but for what we got it was yummy! It's inside New York New York Hotel and perfectly strategically placed here. So good!
