Absolutely top-notch! One of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food was outstanding, packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. Service was impeccable — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. Generous portion sizes and great value for money. Not a single thing to complain about. Truly worth every penny — I’ll definitely be coming back!

They were kind to fit us in on a busy Friday night. Alessia was our server and very sweet. Cocktails were super fresh and had unique flavor profiles. I had the Side Hustle, and although it has Jalapeño infused tequila, the lime and agave cut the spiciness way down. The Chicken with Mushroom Risotto was a solid dish, could have used a bit more seasoning for my liking. Chicken was tende and juicy, the combo of mushrooms gave great texture to the risotto. The steak was a perfect medium rare and flavors were nice, however, I had a weird situation with my potato side dish. I switched the mash the steak came with for the Colcannon, a local dish that is mash mixed with fresh cabbage, at the servers recommendation. When the kitchen delivered the meal, I asked if these were the special potatoes, she looked confused, so I continued by adding "the ones with the cabbage?" She said she didn't know and rushed my plate back to the kitchen. After several minutes passed, our server came to check and I explained that I had just asked to confirm I had gotten the right side. Side said I confused her when I said special. 😐 They finally redelivered my meal, after several more minutes, while my husband waited for me, and the potatoes were stone cold. Alessia checked back and I told her the potatoes were very cold, and she said they are supposed to be warm and not hot. What?! This was pretty frustrating considering the food runner wasn't even sure what she was bringing to the table when I asked a simple question, and now I'm being told these ice cold potatoes are supposed to be like this?! This was so awkward, and I was ready to just leave. She returned shortly with steaming hot potatoes, which tasted pretty good. Overall, the evening wasn't ruined, but it definitely put a damper on it. Overall, good food, just don't say special 😉

Excellent restaurant. We really enjoyed our food as well as service. However, that waterfall outside was magical. What a beautiful idea and view for your dinning experience. We will be back. Thank you 🙏

This restaurant is amazing and many people had recommended it to me. It did not disappoint! I ordered the duck confit which included in the Christmas menu and it was delicious. The drinks were great too and the service was brilliant. I highly recommend it!

Yelp
I was told by locals to try the seafood at Greenes in Cork, a hidden away cloth napkin restaurant with a waterfall feature and left impressed, satisfied and happy I went. From the entrance where the host took my coat upon arrival to the comfortable seating that was spacious it felt like dinning in a luxury hotel. The scallops appetizer was the best I've ever had, so fresh, light, tender and flavorful , even better than Legal Seafood in Boston! The sea bass was cooked perfectly and also fresh, the presentation of both dishes was well done, artistic and the items all added to the flavor profile. The waiter and waitress were eager to please, knowledgeable of the menu and ensured my gluten and dairy intolerance were considered. I had some Chilean cab that was delicious and the server confirmed a good pairing. The service didn't feel rushed and the sea bass came warm and not too dry. This is a place you cannot see from the sidewalk or street and so truly a hidden gem! The prices were reasonable for the quality of food, service and atmosphere.

Yelp
My hotel recommended this restaurant and it was a pleasant surprise. They offer a tasting menu or a la Carte and we chose a la carte. There's not many options to choose from but the mushroom risotto caught my attention and my husband decided on the lamb. The complementary bread and butter was delicious, we finished it all! My husband said the lamb chops were probably the best he ever had and my risotto was also very good. The best meal we had in Ireland so far, highly recommend.

Yelp
We've been to this establishment on a number of occasions and it never disappoints. This time we had a party of nine. The service was very good and everyone enjoyed their meals. We ordered from the prefix menu, they do have a seven course tasting menu available. I would definitely recommend this place.

Yelp
I cannot give Greenes enough stars. Everything here redefined expectations. The service was not on - professional and attentive, but not stuffy. The ambiance was beautiful. There's a small waterfall right outside one window, and a beautiful, small garden outside the other window. And the food. Wow, the food was magnificent. It all started with the bread and butter. 3 different kinds of homemade artisanal bread, served with deliciously creamy butter perched on a stone. The presentation was perfect - creative, elegant, simple. And that was just the bread. I ordered the pork belly stater and the roasted hake & scallops entree. Before these dishes arrived, I was served three petite amuse bouches: a duck liver paté with wasabi seeds and cherry, a warm and juicy beef ball, and a crisp. Each was incredibly tasty. The pork belly with daikon radish and apple was melt in my mouth scrumptious. Little balls of puffed pork crackling provided a delightful and unexpected crunch.  Between my started and main, I was ordered with another surprise: a lychee and lime foam palate cleanser. And mission accomplished. My palate was both cleansed and tickled. What a wonderful way to cut through the fat of my pork belly and prepare me for my seafood entree. My entree did not disappoint. Super fresh hake and scallops paired with a light cream sauce and smoked sausage. Delicious. I left with my belly feeling incredible happy and full.

Yelp
What a fabulous restaurant! Beautiful setting up against a beautiful waterfall. We sat outside right in front of it. The food is light but very flavorful without being over spiced. We had the Pork Belly and the scallops. Beautiful in appearance and just as tasty. Then we had the duck and the monk fish. The chef was gracious enough to make us a half order of the mushroom risotto which was a Wow! The duck is incredible and the monk fish cooked to perfection. But the risotto is worth coming to Cork just for that. So much so we cancelled our reservations for tomorrow night at another restaurant and are coming back here. Can't get in till 9:00 but I'm willing to wait. Highly recommend and service is amazing.

Yelp
I was in Cork last weekend for the Cork Jazz Festival 2015. I was really excited to try Greenes Restaurant as I had read Bryan McCarthy, the head chef had won chef of the year in Cork 2015. We came here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and I'm not sure why, perhaps something to do with the Jazz festival, but the place was completely empty except for us. The staff seemed to be setting up for an event around us and to be honest we were very close to walking out because it took far too long for us to be served. Anyway thankfully, the food made up for the shortcomings of the staff. I got the cured salmon to start which came with a foam and it was mouth watering. We both had the featherblade steak for our main course which had been slow cooked for several hours. This was served with kale and a carrot puree. This was really nice, but in my opinion, didn't really keep up with the quality of the starter. Finally we shared the creme brûlée for our dessert. This was also mouth watering. Overall our experience at Greenes was a little bit dissapointing. I'm sure it is a very nice venue during the evening and perhaps it is more of a dinner restaurant but in my opinion it lacked the wow factor I had been anticipating.

Yelp
My girlfriend and I had the pleasure to eat at Greenes last April. We could not expect anything better: three courses menú (25€), affordable wine and impeccable service. Moreover, we got the table in front of the waterfall that made the lunch simply special. The dishes were beautifully made and decorated, with a touch of innovation which I found bravery and interesting.

Yelp
Beautiful waterfall. First we were give a bad location to dine. Guests and waiters walking past behind our chair, but however the waiter after hearing that we have booked six weeks in advance gave us a table next to the window by the waterfall. That was very nice of them. I ordered ray wings as a starter and lobster and other seafood as main which was very nice. The scallop was cooked perfectly. However I must say that the starter was very disappointing, not that it was poorly cooked but the I do not believed it was ray wings but more like sheldered chicken breast. I am from Singapore and very familiar with strings ray. You can find them in most hawker center grilled. I talk to the waiter about this and he told me the chef was very busy and he cannot disturbed him. The texture of the protein feel very mush like chicken breast, kind of grainy towards after chewing unlike fish. Future customers please beware. The starter is 17.50 euros.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant with good cocktail. Wine choice not as good. Next to a few other popular bars.

Yelp
Even though I'd read mixed reviews of Greenes, I thought I'd give it a try, especially since it was right across the street from my hotel. Well, I should have walked a little further. What a disappointment. Greenes is a 3 Star restaurant that thinks it's a 5 star...and charges as if it were a 5 Star. The prime example of this was the pianist in the corner playing classical music on and electric piano...a 5 Star idea with a 3 Star execution. It didn't help that the pianist missed more notes than a blind bank teller, and although I was cringing, most people seemed unaware. The atmosphere is casual and not overly stuffy; the decor, a bit out dated. The food is adequate, We shared a starter of Mussels which were nice. I had the Whole Baked Sea Bass which was tasty and my friend had the Boullibase which although it had plenty of fresh fish was a bit bland. We shared a cheese plate for dessert and that was nicely presented. Throw in a 30 euro bottle of wine and a meal for 2 people who shared a dessert without coffee came to about 100 euro. There was nothing horribly wrong with the meal or the restaurant, it's just that there was nothing that great about it either. For the money it was disappointing and in Cork you can do a lot better. As a reviewer before me stated, it's worth going to Greenes for a late dessert and coffee enjoyed by the flood-lit waterfall; but if you are looking for a fabulous dining experience, give Greens a miss.

Yelp
Along with some of the previous reviewers, i was anticipating something a bit more than what was delivered. The service and staff were quite friendly, accommodating (we had a "large" party of 8) , and efficient (4 stars) , so they definitely scored on the mark here. We ordered from the "early bird " 3-course prix-fixe menu, which is available all evening on Monday and Tuesday, so we were spared [what I suspect may be] a considerable amount of the priciness we would have experienced had we ordered the same a la carte. The Prix Fixe Menu was significantly skewed toward the fish selection direction (but hey, this is Cork, remember?) , but, not being anything of an ichthyophile, I opted for a Vegan meal. The Tomato Coriander Soup was absolutely superb (5 stars!) , and I probably should have stopped there. The Ricotta and Spinach Tortellini was quite bland and the sauce mostly milk and quite thin (1/2 to 1 star). A token offering for the lacto-vegans of the world, I suppose. Perhaps they ran out of roux that night, having used it all in the soup. How I wish they would have used some of it in the Tortellini sauce. Fresh ingredients can go a long way in most cases, and most certainly, these were present in abundance, but mediocre preparation can detract significantly from the overall experience, which, unfortunately, on this particular night, happened to be the case The Bailey's Creme Brulee was likewise decent (3 stars), but not as extraordinary as I had hoped. Depending upon what your expectations are, you may or may not come away disappointed.

Yelp
This is that restaurant that everyone praises to the highest degree & I almost feel bad about writing such a crap review, but what's a review without honesty? Now perhaps it's my foreign palate speaking here & maybe this place just tastes different to an American from NYC, but I hated it! It came with such high recommendations & with its not so cheap price tagged menu, I was more than unsatisfied & completely disappointed. I ordered a steak that came dripping with an unsavory sauce that never even allowed me to taste the meat hiding beneath. I could have bought a pre-packaged dinner at Marks & Spencer's that would have tasted better. I'd recommend sitting in their lovely garden for dessert & coffee. Won't break the bank & they've got a waterfall!

Yelp
GREENE'S 01.05.10 What did we ever do before butternut squash? That question was popped in Greene's Restaurant (by the waterfall) last evening as Dine in Cork Week continued with yet another smashing meal for €25.00. The butternut squash came in one of the starters where it was combined with Ardsallagh Goats Cheese in a Spring roll, quite a large one, served with mixed baby leaves and a beetroot dressing. We both enjoyed one. Then on to the main courses. The West Cork confit of duck leg was on parmesan mash, braised red cabbage and a rosemary jus. An excellent deep plateful though the strongish aroma of the Rosemary jus permeated everything. We also had the 8 oz ribeye steak, with a brandy pepper sauce. It was cooked to perfection and the presentation was impressive as the dauphnoise potato stack had a neat layer of onion added before being crowned with a Portobello mushroom. Enjoyed that one! I went for the Irish Liqueur Crème Caramel. It was a lovely dessert but I must say the Crème Brule across the table was really one of the best we've ever come across and to top it off it was served with a few delicious homemade shortbread biscuits and ice-cream, a real five star treat. Very happy too with our bottle of the house red (c €23.00), a Sicilian Ca'di Ponti Nero D'Avola 2008. It was a juicy, easy-drinking treat with "ripe black cherry and plum fruit" and a hint of spice. Coffee was also included in the price and needless to say we got a friendly welcome and excellent service. Highly recommended. Got out and try that Dine in Cork menu. Most restaurants, including Greene's have four choices per course and you won't go wrong! GREENES Had coffee and scones in Greenes by the waterfall this Saturday morning. Great coffee, great scone (not to mention jam and cream) - all well presented by a friendly waitress. Sat back in the comfortable chairs and enjoyed it very much indeed. Cost for two: €10.40.

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant with an excellent menu. I had the Hake Filet with a crab and mackerel starter and every dish was so meticulously prepared that you could see the art displayed. Reservations are recommended as it is a nice and small restaurant.

Yelp
Went here for a family lunch on Sunday. The food was amazing and we throughly enjoyed it! The beef was literally 'melt in your mouth' and the deserts were unlike anything we've ever had! Special thanks to Joanne and the manager Jiri for all their help in resolving a misunderstanding and helping our day stay positive! We will definitely be back soon.

Yelp
Greene's is my favourite restaurant in Cork. The Early Bird menu is outstanding and showcases the best in local products from The English Market.

Yelp
Greenes is probably "the" restaurant to go, if you want to eat with style and if you don't care too much for the money. On the other hand, the service, the food and the location (waterfall in the yard) are worth the high prices. The waitresses and waiters know their business and the food and beverages they are serving. I have been there at least three times in six years and waiting for the next occasion, I will be there again.

Yelp
We went to this restaurant through Isac Hhotel where we had accompdation (anyway as a guest you can get 10 % discount for meal at Greens) however, back to the point. Greens was the best Cork restaurant for 2012 i guess and we know why. Service - Perfect, meal - Delitious, you are getting starter for free as well, wine - super and backgrout so romantice. Just price is little bit higher 50% more than normal restaurant, but it was really great :-)

Yelp
Great food and excellent venue. Always a good commitment to locally sourced ingredients. Use this venue quite frequently for Corporate Dining too and has always gone down well with Clients. I would be inclined to pull a star on the basis of costs though - they really do need to have a look at their pricing structure especially as people are now more cost conscious.

Just finished a great meal at greenes, big portions of tasty food, friendly and efficient staff, I'll come back again next time I'm in cork!

Yelp
Food: Top notch! This restaurant will send your taste buds on holiday. Price: It's worth every cent!

Yelp
Went in for an 'early bird' 6-7pm. Arrived at 6:59pm and still no problem with having the early bird menu. Starter, main, desert & tea/coffee for €28. Fairly good choice, steak, chicken, fish and a veggie. Slightly smaller portion size then the main menu but still went away absolutely stuffed with yummyness. Efficient, friendly, mainly French staff. Over all a good night out I'd say.

Yelp
My wife and I dined in Greene's Restaurant on Tuesday evening last before going to the theatre across the street. We were so glad that we did. We had previously dined there of course and were always most satisfied but on this occasion they excelled. We ordered off the early bird menu and were so impressed with both the choice and beautiful taste of the food. It was just so delicious in every way. Hats off to the chef! We were equally impressed with the service and the attention we received - it was as if we were the most important diners in what was a busy sitting. A particular word of thanks to Joanne who served us and looked after our every need - her attention to detail was exceptional. Indeed, the atmosphere in the dining room was most friendly, welcome and hospitable - this was due in no small way to all of the staff. Well done to all concerned - ye added so much to a wonderful evening!
