Really nice juice bar that offers small, healthy food options and juice drinks and smoothies! Great spot to go if you’re looking for something quick and healthy that’s also delicious. When we stopped by, it was close to their opening day so we got the chance to sample a few extra of their juices and they were all really amazing! Really loved the cold brew. They don’t use any refined sugars, only coconut. We also tried the açaí bowl, which was very good. Everything felt fresh and we left satisfied! Overall, tasty healthy food and staff was receptive and kind. We would definitely stop again!

Excellent food, super nice staff, my new local favorite. Found this place walking by it one day, have gone back multiple times; went to look it up online one today and was very surprised at the ratings here online. Multiple one star reviews without any statements have me thinking some local restaurants aren’t playing nice with their neighbors… unfortunately I’ve heard of this happening before. This place is higher quality food than any other place similar to it in the city and here’s to hoping my new local favorite sticks around!

I love greenheart! The signature waffle is incredible. Clean ingredients, made fresh and tastes so good. I recently tried the fall special waffle which was really good. The juices are delicious as well.

This are incredible juices-MJ, Sunshine, Cashew, Watermelon,mint (chai and strawberry)! I traveled to DC and had heavy swelling that would not go down. I did the one day detox. Amazing! Swelling gone by end of night. I went back to buy five more juices for my drive back to Kentucky. They are well balanced and refreshing. Sadly, they are not located in Kentucky. I was wondering why there reviews were not as high. The first four were one stars without comments. I'm guessing they must be intimidated competition. I can see why too! I've been to many juice places. This is tops!

Purchased a mango mania and subbed the bananas for strawberries-- 20/10. So refreshing and delicious. It is also a fairly large portion, I could barely finish. I love a smoothie place that doesn't add 18822928 dairy products. This is a real smoothie and I will be back!

This location is within Union Market. I visited on a busy Saturday afternoon on a very pleasant day with sun outside. It was packed, but the ordering process was simple. They had a couple of Kiosk ordering stations. The menu is customizable to what you want. I tried their Acai bowl and it was refreshing with fresh fruits, chia seeds, hemp seeds. The blueberries were not that good as they were mushy. They have a small fridge where they place made orders. You can add more chia seeds and honey when you pick up. South Block has more locations within the city. It was a nice convenient stop while I was visiting Union Market.

Apparently if you tell people you're going there, you instantly get money sent to you for theirs too ! But I can definitely see why! It was absolutely delicious. The perfectly blended frozen fruit at the bottom and the overloaded top with your choice of fresh fruit is so good! I added extra bananas and agave nectar YUMMY! The portion size is enough to share with someone but who would want to? This bowl was $11.95! Great value for this beautiful bowl! I can now see why my teenage daughter and her friends love this place. Highly recommend

Loved the entire experience. Ordered myself, walked around and them picked it up in the fridge. I absolutely love acai bowls and this one has set the bar way up. So perfectly stacked and filled. If I lived by here I would be eating it for dinner every night

If you are in this area and not getting you açaí bowls from south block then idk what you are doing!! No complaints! Love how I can add how much honey I want to it personally. Shout out to the workers at this location. Keeping a smile on their faces as they work in a busy food hall on a Saturday!!

My friend and I were at Union Market and decided the smoothie bowls sounded nice on a warm day. They have a few screens you can order your food from. It took a bit to get our order but it was a busy Sunday. They will text you when your order is ready though, so you can find a seat and wait for your order is ready text. There is plenty of seating inside and outside, we sat outside and enjoyed the warm weather. My friend and I shared the Sunshine Bowl smoothie bowl and it was very good. All the flavors worked well together and they were generous with the fruit and granola on top.

It was okay but that rude green haired attendant needs some customer service training. He held up the line while talking to a friend on the side of the booth and then gave everyone attitude and could barely explain the options. Will try on another day when he isn't working. I've heard good things about this place but he really set the wrong tone.

The service could be much better but it's still a really good location! The vibe is lit because it's in an open market! It's always busy but the bowls are great! I'll definitely be back to try the pressed juice.

I've been coming to south block for a couple years now. The staff are always amazing and i absolutely can't live without my warrior bowl and cave monkey smoothie. No other place in dc can live up to south block in union market!

The sunshine bowl is amazing really tasty and nice portion size. For the type of traffic they receive they still manage to give quick service. This my go to bowl and it does not miss

It's sad because I love this location they were always quick and fast especially when the guy either the blonde hair works he so nice but today and another day last week the 3 ladies are always chatting instead of working so today I ordered a warrior bowl its literally nobody there and it took 15 mins for them to make the bowl because they decided to chat instead of working then I asked how long she said she is working on it I said how long she said 3 mins more after I've been waiting then when she called my bowl she didn't even call my name she just pushed the bowl very disrespectful I don't get it why it takes so long they have no hair nets and they all keep drinking and chatting instead of working sad

union market crew was so friendly, clean and loved fast despite the crowd. they asked me if I had any changes to my order which was nice. Food was fresh and cold, blended well.

Love south block! Typically, I get the warrior bowl, but tried the almond butter one this time and that's my new fav!!! And this location is especially fun at union market because you can enjoy your food up on the rooftop! I've been here so many times! They always do a great job and it's always yummy!

Whenever my significant other and I want to get acai bowls, we always find ourselves coming to this business. The first time I went here, I didn't know what to expect. I knew acai was good for you but I wasn't sure if it would taste good. I was pleasantly surprised. I have not had a bowl that I did not like. Even more so, I did not find out until recently that they had a skin care line. I absolutely adore skincare products so the fact they had specific items to help with skincare from the inside out got me ecstatic. The location is a small permanent stand in the union market area. There are a multitude of other businesses in the complex. It does tend to get a little crowded in the area during busy hours. If you are not a fan of crowds, I would highly suggest going during slow times and days because it can be very overwhelming. There is a decent amount of parking but because there are some many people that frequent the area, I personally do not feel there are enough spots. I know there is an underground parking garage but you will have to pay for that. That being said, I absolutely love everything about the food and the vibes and will find myself coming here for quite some time.

Fresh, delicious, and healthy! I enjoy their smoothies and smoothie bowls. I order online because they can be pretty busy or you can order in there, but they tend to be pretty fast.

A few days ago I was at Union Market in South Block. It had been a long time since I had a good acai. I ordered the Nutella Bowl. They made sure my experience was the best. The store was a bit busy at the time so it took me a while but a blonde girl, I can't remember if her name was Ainila or Alina, made sure everything was in order and orders were placed quickly, she was very friendly. She looked for my order. She took it upon herself to do it as quickly as possible. I hope all her employees become more like her with a big smile and humility. It helped me, I will never forget it and of course I will return to South Block to try the entire menu and for the attention they gave me at that time.

This place is consistently amazing--they never disappoint! Their açaí base stands out for its rich, thick, and creamy texture, which sets it apart from other spots that often serve watered-down or icy versions. The freshness of their fruit is top-notch, which is rare to find these days. I also love the granola, and the fact that they let you pour your own honey and chia seeds is a bonus. South Block goes down as my favorite açaí and smoothie spot in the area.

I wondered into Union market one morning and stumbled upon south block. I checked the menu and a green smoothie is always my go to. I added blueberries for some extra antioxidant nutrients. After about 10 mins, yes it was busy at the time, I received my smoothie! It was really tasty for a quick snack!

South Block makes delicious smoothies and acai bowls. They are actually located inside the union market. I got their strawberry passion smoothies which had guava juice, strawberries, and bananas. They have two different sizes you can choose from on the smoothies. My smoothies was delicious and loved that they put guava juice in it. They also serve avocado toast. I definitely plan to go back when I want a smoothie. Service was good and my smoothie came out fast in a timely efficient manner

Decent smoothies but nothing really out of the ordinary - surprised there are actually so few options to choose from, a lot are very similar minus one or two different ingredients.

Came here for a quick bite while at a conference down the street. The place itself is clean and has a chill vibe. Some good music was playing. I think the service was nice, we used a kiosk to order. They did take a little longer than expected but it was lunch hour so I'm guessing they had a lot of online orders coming in too. I tried the mini Warrior Bowl. I opted to try that one because it had pineapple juice instead of a milk substitute. The pineapple gave it a little a sweeter and slightly sourness rather than the slightly creamy bowls I'm used to. The açaí blend was pretty great, granola was good (standard) the fruit was very fresh but strawberries were a little sour, and the blueberries and bananas were perfect! I would probably come back next time I'm in town but would get the regular size if it's my lunch. The mini is definitely snack size.

Horrible service. 6 employees were taking and none were making juice. Wasted time there unnecessarily because they were all chatting. No thoughts to customers waiting. Poor customer service and sending the wrong message that our time does not matter.

South Block is one of the stands at Union Market that is holding on strong during the pandemic, and my little family is grateful for that! Other things we are thankful for: their trusty PBJ acai bowl, online ordering system that is fast, reliable, AND gives you a 10 dollar credit every so often. We love picking up their bowls and admittedly do it so often that my 3 year old sometimes wakes up in the morning and tells me that he "NEEDS an acai bowl." When you order ahead, they store your bowl (or smoothie) in a countertop refrigerator with your name on it and you can grab it without any contact. Always great, but especially great during this never-ending pandemic life. Thank you, South Block, for your friendly staff and consistently great offerings!

After a weekend without much (or any) greens, I NEEDED some sustenance. Located inside Union Market, the blenders caught my ears before they caught my eyes. I was too full for an açaí bowl but I wanted a green juice, bad. The Super Green smoothie was perfect. I don't like ginger so I didn't pay the premium on top of the $8 premium price. It's pretty expensive BUT it's basically a meal replacement and we pay well over $10 for a meal when eating out these days. The wait time was probably my real complaint. There seemed to be a backlog before I even made my order. I understand it was a busy Sunday but with so many people behind the bar, I couldn't understand why it would take so long to mix up a smoothie. Even so - I'd definitely come back, especially to try an açaí bowl.

I'm not going to lie, but I am actually shocked I haven't reviewed this spot yet. After discovering this spot a few months ago, I have casually sunk a total of one month's paycheck into this place (yea you're welcome lol) But what can I tell you about true love? Other than it's true love? This week alone I got a bowl 3 days out of the 5 and it's not like it's a convenient walk to work. Nah. These are my daily, in the middle of work day, cravings (sometimes in person, sometimes with Uber) Okay now that I'm done serenading you, let me start by telling you about my favorite meal and honestly the only one I get: ALMOND BUTTER açaí bowl with extra granola and almond butter. One time they ran out of bananas so they kindly substituted strawberries. I'm not going to lie, I was weary until I took a bite and my life changed forever. My bowl ALWAYS has strawberries now. Cost: $15 with all those extras. We've had our share of screwups and though they don't take calls, whoever is being the texting is amazing and so kind and always available to respond. It's like having a one sided relationship with a ghost. Anyway thank you for the wholesomeness you bring to my life because these bowls are EVERYTHING!!!! and this week, this month, this whole freaking year would be nothing without you PSA: I recommend you get it in person. Fresh. No screw ups, etc. most times my order has been wrong is through delivery, either they didn't make it right or the Uber driver picked up the wrong order (I mean how many Vanessas are ordering at the same time on a random Wednesday? Apparently it's TWO!! Uber needs to do better). But like I said if it's Southblock that messed up, they are always there to help, even if a simple sorry) PS: if I checked in every time I had a bowl, I definitely would be check in queen

Located inside of Union Market, you can find this stand with its green signage. They have a small menu that is very straightforward and all of the options sounds delicious. The Food: I opted for a Smoothie and my choice was the "Super Green". Which had pineapple juice, spinach, kale, banana and mangos. You also have the option of adding ginger in there as well. I did and it tasted great! The smoothie was delicious and blended nicely. I saw a lot of people get the Açaí bowl, so this review may need to be updated soon! The Service: Staff was friendly. Orders were out in no time, even with a rush. Prices are a little high in my opinion though. But the drinks were great nonetheless. Overall, a solid 4/5 in my books.

I ordered the super green smoothie and it was really tasty! Not too sweet at all and it just had the freshest and most natural taste. After one drink, it makes you feel like you just cured yourself from anything and everything lol it was a bit pricy but it was good overall.

I've only had an açaí from my favorite place back home, and I've finally found a place that makes granola without nuts! I'm allergic to all nuts and finding a granola that is safe to eat is so hard to find! Although this is a pricy bowl, it's a filling breakfast and such a nutrient rich first meal. Not too sweet and made fresh for you! Would highly recommend as a healthy option in Union Market. Definitely would advise going early in the morning if you're there on a weekend day because it does get a bit crowded (wait around 15-20 min). Otherwise weekdays are super quick!

PBJ Bowl $10.00 Blend / organic acai, peanut butter, bananas, blueberries, almond milk Topped / handmade granola, blueberries, bananas So I'm not a huge granola fan but I was super impressed with how moist and tasty it was. According to their website these are the ingredients: organic rolled oats, organic unsweetened coconut, sunflower seeds, organic brown sugar, non-GMO hemp seeds, organic pumpkin seeds, organic golden flax seeds, brown flax seeds, organic sesame seeds, expeller-pressed non-GMO canola oil, filtered water, organic Fair Trade ground ginger, sea salt. The blend was cold, creamy and berry flavorful. I also was surprisingly full after eating the bowl so it's the perfect portion. I'm interested in trying their Georgetown location because they have 10 bowls versus 2 bowls at the Union Market location.

The Setup is certainly not pandemic friendly! I was highly disappointed in the flow from order to pick up! After you order you are directed to pick your order up on the other side from a clear refrigerator. The fridge is open access to customers and due to the popularity of the place it has tons of customers awaiting orders, including app and online orders. Customers are reaching in freely touching and turning the bowls and smoothies to see names - certainly not sanitary. I even saw a person come up and just grab an order without checking a name or anything, not sure if it was theft but one can assume. After picking up your order they have shared honey and chia seed containers for you to apply as you please, so everyone has to touch it. You then have to go back to the cashier if you would like a bag and request it. Review of the food - We tried the mermaid bowls. They were good, a different take compared to the Açaí bowl. If we're were to return, it would have to be at a time where they aren't busy because this is not an experience we would like to redo.

A great place to get a quick bite to eat. I got the mermaid acai bowl. It was really good. I liked all the toppings that went into it and it was super quick and easy. You can get other smoothies and different acai bowls, which I am excited to check out in the future.

I was missing açaí bowls from Maui and searched the DMV for some quality bowls. My hubby found South Block on Yelp and their three locations. We happened to be at Union Market so my hubby bought me the Warrior Bowl to bring back food memories of Maui. Though the açaí bowl here will not compare to the ones at Maui, it's probably the best I've had in the DMV. The blueberries, strawberries and bananas are fresh. The level of sweetness is just right. The granola with pumpkin seeds, bee pollen and honey adds nice crunch and also not overly sweet. This bowl truly made me so happy that I will probably be visiting their other locations to try more bowls and juices!

The service was amazing. The young lady Jay at the register made great suggestions and was very knowledgeable. The smoothie was amazing definitely coming back!

Came to this location after a workout sesh. with my girlfriends. I got the Warrior Bowl, and my two friends got the Mermaid Bowl. We ordered ahead of time, and by the time we walked over, our bowls were ready for us. What I loved was that they have a mini fridge on the countertop that they place orders in to keep them nice and fresh! Incredible service. I also love that they keep a bottle of chia seeds and honey at their service bar where they keep napkins and spoons, so you can top your bowl off with additional things. Quick, fresh and efficient. A weekend is always made better by a trip to Union Market and a stop by the South Block stall. Here you'll find fresh and delicious treats that can be a meal on their own or compliment any other nearby selection. Perfect for on the go, the South Block smoothies are tasty, healthy, and super filling. You can even customize your order to fit your preferences and support your healthy habits. For example, I always go for the Super Green smoothie and substitute the bananas for blueberries. Add in whey protein and top with ginger and this smoothie is the perfect way to end a workout and start the rest of your day. The Acai Bowls are hearty and just as easy to customize because everything is made to order. While you do have to wait a little bit for your order on a busy weekend day you won't regret it because the staff are super friendly and push out wonderful orders. Don't skip this spot the next time your in Union Market or if you can't wait till then order through Uber Eats!

I love making my own smoothies and often frequent this South Block every time I'm at Union Market, but I've noticed the acai bowls here are quite sweet and more of a dessert than a breakfast food. The blue majik bowl is slightly less sweet. I learned that blue majik itself is just blue spirulina powder that has no taste but is packed with vitamins and protein. The color is beautiful though! They are generous with the fruits and granola and chia seeds are always unlimited at the counter in a squeeze bottle. It's super noisy eating at the small counter next to South Block because of the blender noise and the fact the smoothie always gets stuck at the bottom and they always need to hit the blender to get it to blend smoothly. All the bowls mostly have juice in it. I've substituted greens for pineapple juice because I didn't want the extra sugar. The substitution costs an extra $2 and makes it super watery. If you're looking for a less sugary option, stick to the smoothies.

Came in on a busy Sunday, I was able to get my nutella bowl in less than 10 Minutes. Customer service and attention was great. The Sunday staff was amazing and Leany was very helpful with Kiosk, explaining how it works. The food and ambiance was amazing! Such a chill spot killer

AMAZING! The açaí bowls are super good and shot quick. Great service every week when I get a bowl. The flavors are always consistent and the consistency is always good. I highly recommend coming here if you are looking for a filling meal that won't have you feeling tired and sluggish after you eat it!
