I love getting my farm box from Greenhearts. It is always packed with love and full of seasonal delicious produce. Some of my favorites are the Swiss chard, bok choy, strawberries, tomatoes, pluots, green beans, cucumbers, mixed peppers and kale! I highly recommend!

Cassie D.

Google
We’ve been Greenhearts Family Farm members for 4 years and absolutely love it! The produce is always fresh, delicious, and varied—it’s such a treat to cook with what comes in the box each week. Farmer Paul’s weekly letters make it feel so personal and connected to the farm. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a CSA that truly cares about quality and community.

Jeannie D.

Google
Love getting our box every other week! Produce is high quality and varied. Signing up has pushed us to expand our horizons and cook with fresh seasonal produce. We also loved being able to go down to the farm for the pick your own strawberry and flower bouquets event.

Google
I needed a way that I found fun to eat better... Every week I get Greenhearts, it's like this fun game of what to make that week! As a single person, I eat through 95%+ of my box, I've learned to cook with and eat foods I'd never just grab at the farmers market or store and they frickin' deliver in the city... For free!!! My friend in Wisconsin and I compare put CSA boxes ever week and every week she's jealous at my variety 😊

Kylie G.

Google
Produce was amazing! And great value! Great use of $40.

Peggy L.

Google
This is my second box and I’ve been telling all my friends about it! There’s a wide variety of fruits and vegetables that are organic, fresh and delicious. The added sunflowers has been a very nice touch! Highly recommend

Google
I had been wanting to sign up for a CSA to eat more local and better quality produce while reducing plastic use. I received my first box from Greenhearts Family Farm and I’m very pleased! The delivery woman was so gracious, and they even added in a bunch of snapdragon flowers. The box is very reasonable for the quantity and quality, and delivery is included. I will be signing up for a weekly box asap, thank you Greenhearts!!

Google
Got my first box today and was SO happy. Referring all of my friends to get theirs! The flowers alone would have me buying these boxes!

Yelp
The answer was beet kvass all along! Our challenge: Find creative ways to enjoy and consume *100%* of the bounty that our friends at Greenhearts (and their partner organic farms) harvest from here in the greater Bay Area and deliver to our door-step week after week. No root, leaf, or berry will go uneaten. Especially the berries. We've been enjoying this delicious fresh bounty for over 5 years. Everything is amazing. The veggies are always perfect. Best I've ever had. Sweet, ripe, crispy, deliciousness. I even got my parents to sign up. I want to give a fair assessment: After 5+ years, we've received the occasional fruit that is disappointing - Cara Cara oranges are the best oranges I've ever tasted, but the strawberries picked at full ripeness sometimes only have a day or two left before spoiling, and stone-fruit like peaches, nectarines, or plums are occasionally be less juicy or sweet, probably depending on the weather that year. We still eat it all, even the kale, and the abundance of zucchini that arrives each summer. But our most difficult item has always been the beets. I love them, but my household thinks beets taste like dirt. I've tried dozens of different preparations, even my wife's grandmother's polish chocolate beet cake recipe, but to no avail. I had reverted to giving beets away to friends and neighbors because I couldn't eat them all myself. But no longer! Bring on the beets! (Lettuce Turnip the Beet!) I have a new trick up my sleeve: Beet Kvass - and I can drink it all day. Sooooo easy to make. In short: Raw, unpeeled, chopped beets go in a salt water brine, and get left in a warm dark place for about a week or two until the juice is funky, healthy, and delicious. Second stage fermentation (put the juice in a flip-top bottle) is optional and enables carbonation. Delicious! (Posting because I'm overdue for an update, but everything I said in my previous review still stands.)

Yelp
I look forward to receiving my fresh, organic produce from Greenhearts. A vibrant, abundant feast. Thank you, Farmer Paul, family and staff!

Danielle C.

Yelp
Farmer Paul has hand delivered these boxes in rain, wind, cold weather. Him and his amazing team has made sure to keep the box and perishables out of the sweltering heat. They have made awesome efforts to contact us about switching vendors or communicating a refund when there was the infamous egg shortage earlier this year. When the food arrives, it is great quality and so much food. I highly recommend supporting local and getting a box. I do bi-weekly. It helps us get in a variety of foods through all seasons and during the winter, our staple favorites. We also get a lovely note from the team about what we got as well as a blurb about the farm/events. You also have an opportunity to add on local eggs, honey, hot sauce etc. Do yourself a favor and get this box. We will never cancel.

Harini M.

Yelp
The best, most delicious produce. I'm constantly shocked at how flavorful the fruits are and the veggies stay fresh for so long. The person who delivers our orders is also the loveliest human and is always so excited to share the produce they have in stock. Also where else can you get a giant bag of fresh groceries for less than $50? Love them!

Angelina R.

Yelp
I've tried many CSA delivery services and Greenhearts is by far the best. The quality of their produce is top tier, plus it feels good to support local farmers.

Shelby W.

Yelp
Our first CSA box and I'm already so excited for our box next week. Delivery was easy and it came with such an amazing assortment of fresh fruits and veggies.

Kathy C.

Yelp
I have been getting their CSA box every other week for years. Always excited to open it and see the amazingly fresh vegetables and fruits. Everything is delicious. I also love cooking with vegetables that are new to me!

Laura J.

Yelp
Amazing veggies that I receive bi weekly. Aurora is also very helpful when I need to reschedule or reroute deliveries!

Charlotte M.

Yelp
They work with you! Love the strawberries from Coke Farm. Been getting for them for nearly a year. They did work with me when I needed to cancel because of travel. Would recommend them.

Yelp
If you are looking for a family ran and carrying company this is it. Their fruits and vegetables are of the highest quality and importance.

Yelp
We love our bi-weekly CSA box delivery from Greenhearts Family Farm! You can't beat the freshness of the produce. Each week, you'll receive 9-11 items so it's a good variety of produce, mostly veggies with some fruits so far. There are usually one or two items we haven't cooked with much before, so the box has helped us expand our culinary horizons. The delivery folks are a jovial bunch too, which is a bonus!

Lisa P.

Yelp
Greenhearts is an amazing farm. It is a blessing and pleasure to have this beautiful farmer and his family in our community. Can't recommend highly enough their fresh vegetables and fruit box. It is a labor of love.

r s.

Yelp
We just received our first box, it's awesome: blueberries, strawberries, mushrooms (shiitake!), broccolini, spinach, nantes carrots, bokchoys, zucchinis, butter lettuce (huge!) - all very fresh, sweet and delish. Oh and- a bonus bouquet of colorful flowers. I've been looking for a local organic farm to get supplies and am happy to have found Greenhearts. I highly recommend the CSA box and hope you will give it a try to support local farmers. You can't go wrong and I know it would be difficult to find the same quality or amount of vegetables and fruits delivered to the door step for $41, anywhere else. Very reasonable.. Thank you for doing what you do farmer Paul - we are grateful for your service and products.

Yelp
Greenhearts CSA is the thing I look most forward to when it comes to shopping/cooking/eating every week. I've been getting their boxes for over 5 years. The freshest veggies, fruits, and eggs - which means everything tastes better and I know i'm getting nutrient dense, local produce. You can tell there is so much love put into these boxes. The note from Farmer Paul is always a treat, and i'm reminded how grateful I am to live in a part of the country that has amazing farms supporting our health. Thank you Farmer Paul and Aurora!

Yelp
I've subscribed for a few months now and have been so so pleased with both the quality and quantity of produce I receive every week. I used to subscribe to another CSA that closes for the winter and intended to use Greenhearts as a stop gap only, but I've decided to continue here year-round. We get a nice mix of fruit and veg. Staples that we'd otherwise buy at Whole Foods or the farmers market with a few items sprinkled in that we wouldn't have picked ourselves. That's the fun part about CSA life - being challenged to get creative and try different ingredients, leading to a more varied diet. Could not endorse Greenhearts more heartily!

Peggy L.

Yelp
This is my second box and I've been telling all my friends about it! There's a wide variety of fruits and vegetables that are organic, fresh and delicious. The added sunflowers has been a very nice touch! Highly recommend

Yelp
I can't stress enough how wonderful the Greenhearts CSA box is! The flavor of the veggies is beyond compare. and I'm not overreacting. I didn't like cabbage until I started eating this CSA cabbage; so much flavor! The carrots and snap peas are always extra sweet, and I didn't know potatoes had so many different flavors! We always get compliments on our salads, and it is because Greenhearts produce tastes that much better than store bought. It has changed my whole family's eating habbits. My toddler knows that cows say "Moo", and ducks say, "Quack", and Farmer Paul says, "Eat your greens!". And we do! We regularly eat my carrot greens, beat greens and any other green that arrives in the box. Also, I feel connected to the farm and all of Farmer Paul's hard work. We visit the farm for U-picks and enjoy his letter that arrives in every box. Farmer Paul has a way with words. He is a Farmer-Poet! And his glimpses into the daily life and struggles help connect me to the food I'm eating. I would recommend this CSA box to everyone! Eat healthier. Shop locally. Improve your lives and the community. What is not to like?

Yelp
Greenhearts is the best CSA, hands down! Each week, they deliver (to your door) an overflowing box of anything and everything that's currently in season. Each week we look forward to seeing what's going to be on our menu for the week. We've been subscribers since the end of 2019 (just before the pandemic) and let me tell you, it has been a godsend. The most amazing selection of fresh produce, all locally sourced, without having to go shopping. Included in each week's box is the most thoughtful note from Farmer Paul that always includes a list of everything in your delivery and often includes recipe suggestions. Paul also spends a bit of time letting you know whatever's on his mind (including great stories) as well as letting us know what's happening in his world. It's truly a highlight of my week to get a glimpse into what makes Greenhearts tick. They partner with some of the most well respected farms in the area and for us, it's really cool to know where each item comes from. The fresh produce is just on a different level than what you would get in your local supermarket and, as others have said, everything seems to have a great shelf life (in the fridge). Bonus points for the non-standard items I'd be scared to buy on my own, but now magically have in front of me: persimmons, celery root, kohlrabi, rutabaga, pomegranate, the list goes on and on. When they let you know the items in each week's box (a few days prior to delivery) you also have the option to add additional items from their partners. We've tried a few (apple cider, kombucha and the most flavorful whole chickens we've ever roasted!) and we always get half a dozen pasture raised eggs each week. Can't thank them enough for their hard work making sure we're taken care of. Their delivery person is always super friendly and super cautious in this new COVID world - masks, gloves, everything. Thanks, Farmer Paul and Aurora and the whole team. Hope you have a wonderful holiday break and we're already looking forward to our first box in 2021.

Yelp
My experience with this farm is very minimal but already left a great imprint and loved it so much that I am considering joining their CSA program. Today I dragged my boyfriend with me (after all he took someone needed to take these wonderful 'among the flowers' pics:) to have one of those cool experiences 'pick all the flowers you can get in a bucket' for only $10/bucket. Amazing deal and I have to say I was pretty good at pressing the flowers so I could fit tons of different colors, sizes and types. 2 buckets of flowers are now adorning 6 vases at home! I saw one of those Facebook events mentioning the Greehearts farm and the possibility of not only picking flowers, but also heirloom tomatoes and beans. I got obsessed with the flowers, and expecting a foggy day (blame my Alexa:) I was happily surprised with a sunny, magical and shiny day with some sea breezy coming our way. We got easy parking, free (even though there were many other cars there, you don't feel like in one of those cramped pumpkin patches where you have to fight for a spot in the field...in there you could go as further as you wanted that flowers never seemed to end, and perfect place for cute family pictures. You will be surrounded by bees, butterflies and beauty. Plus the people managing the whole thing were super nice to us (and everybody), very welcoming. This was my first experience and I hope not the last one. Flowers make me happy and this place fulfilled my need for beauty and nature.

Yelp
I got my first CSA box from Greenhearts family farm yesterday. There is so much produce in this box - all locally grown and organic! As a vegetarian, I really appreciate the amount of high quality vegetables included in this box. They also sent a small bouquet of fresh flowers along with the box. Thank you Farmer Paul and Aurora! I got 3 varieties of fruits in this box - blueberries, strawberries and pluots! The blueberries are absolutely delicious - very sweet and flavorful. Some of the best blueberries I have ever tasted! No - you won't get these in Whole Foods or anywhere else - it's that good! The strawberries and plutos are also very delicious. I didnt get a chance to try all the vegetables yet, but they are really fresh. I got Nantes Carrots, Swiss Chard, Celery, Broccoli, Zucchini, 2 varieties of Baby lettuce, Baby Chioggia beets with leaves and a broccoli variety named Romanesco! Wow! I highly recommend this CSA box, rather than going to the grocery store and picking up inferior quality vegetables grown in some other parts of the world (most likely harvested a while back). This CSA box is also very good value for money considering all this is locally grown in the Bay Area and organic! Based on my shopping experience, the same amount of regular org produce would cost a little bit more in stores like Whole Foods, Piazzas, Dragger's, Safeway etc. You may be able to buy the same amount of inferior quality produce or bigger bags at Trader Joe's / Costco for $40. But, how do you compare quality, freshness, flavor, uniqueness and variety? It's like comparing apples and oranges. Also, you won't find vegetables like Romanesque, Nantes carrots etc in regular grocery stores! Trust me - these Nantes carrots are sweet, juicy and full of flavor! In my opinion, hands down this is the best option in the Bay Area for produce. I had only tried one other local CSA box from a permaculture farm before, but I had to drive to all the way to HMB or Mountain View to pick up their boxes. Even though their produce was absolutely delicious, they never included fruits. Compared to that, this box includes more produce & delivered to your doorstep. Best experience ever! Please subscribe to this wonderful service and support our local organic farmers. You won't regret it. You can either subscribe for $40/box (weekly / biweekly) or pay $41/box without subscription. Thanks again to farmer Paul & team

Yelp
We love to visit the farm to pick up a CSA box from time to time. Not only do the boxes have amazing fruits and vegetables, but the staff is wonderful, and my daughter (toddler) learns so much during every visit, whether she is picking strawberries or flowers (depending on the season so we talk about where food comes from and how to grow it), or jumping on the hay bales in the kids area. A quick drive down the coast means high quality produce and a tired toddler that regularly asks to return.
google avatar

Paul N.

Yelp
Greenhearts Family Farm is the best! We love the CSA box and get eggs added to the delivery every two weeks. We also love visiting the farm, just a short drive down the coast from SF. Highlights are the UPick flower days and the all you can pick tomato days. There's nothing better than seeing where your produce is grown and the care that goes into growing it.

Mike S.

Yelp
Can't say enough great things about Greenhearts Family Farm! Farmer Paul and his fine crew (not a 'jerk' among them) deliver fresh, wholesome, delicious fruits and vegetables all over the Bay Area each week Having deep roots in California's inland empire area, Paul can personally "curate" the weekly distribution boxes; which often feature the finest sustainably raised produce, eggs, kombucha, honey, and even occasionally poultry. (Along with a witty, informative explanation page which describes the box contents, Cracker Barrel farm wisdom, and more). SO! The serious takeaway (in an age of looming food insecurity) is that having a guaranteed weekly drop off of delicious, life-sustaining food... is a virtual "insurance policyagainst "being super hungry" when you'd rather not be.

Carlos C.

Yelp
We have been a member of their CSA for years. We love that the produce is local and organic. The quality is exceptional. Much better than any grocery store. Also, we are fans of their no-plastic packaging. Each week includes a newsletter, which is enjoyable to read and has some ideas of how to prepare that week's offerings. Finally, the logistics are great - we can pause if we are away, and the delivery is very convenient. We highly recommend Greenhearts CSA!

Mai H.

Yelp
If you're interested in eating more local, fresh, and organic produce, I'd highly recommend Greenhearts Family Farm Subscription Box. Their main farm is in Half Moon Bay - you can see their sign while driving on US 1. Their subscription box is only $40/week with 6-8lbs of seasonal fresh fruits and vegetables, wrapped in mostly sustainable packaging. They always come with some staples as well as some unique produce for you to try out. This box pictured here has Honey Tangerines, Navel Oranges, Nantes Carrots, Savoy Cabbage, Garnet Yams, Bloomsdale Spinach, Broccoli, Red Swiss Chard, Shallots and Celery. In the box, Farmer Paul always includes some thoughtful notes about what's going on in the farm. He mentioned that if we can get more neighbors on the subscription, we all take part in reducing carbon footprint associated with delivery vans. I personally enjoy their produce and service and hope you'll give it a try to support our local farmers and be more sustainable.

Rosa N.

Yelp
I am always blown away by the boxes that arrive with the subscription--always brimming with amazing produce and never a hitch with delivery! I highly recommend to anyone looking to support local farms and up their veggies!
google avatar

Jeremi M.

Yelp
Been feeding my family thanks to Paul for nearly 5 years and love them. My kids will often select Greenhearts produce on their plate as opposed to the carb and meat options in front of them. Always look forward to Paul's notes in the hand picked boxes as well. So grateful for Greenhearts, they truly feel like family.

J H.

Yelp
Amazing CSA box delivered right to your door. You get to eat amazing fresh and nutritious veggies and fruits (and eggs!!) while supporting the local farms. The price is very reasonable for the amount and quality of produce you get. I'm so grateful for what they do.

Audrey G.

Yelp
Such a great CSA box. We've been getting it it for nearly 4 years and have yet to be disappointed.

Natasha A.

Yelp
Greenhearts has been a part of our family for the last decade. They are lovely tasty vegetables and have the best blueberries of my life. Their foods became my son's first foods. Their words in each box ground my family and teach us what it means to make food for people. At one point, I reached out to greenhearts, they helped provide free vegetables for a children's weight management clinic, introducing new seasonal vegetables to children who needed them. Their weekly delivery is consistent and cherished.
google avatar

Camille L.

Yelp
Thrilled with my second order. Paul's notes are wonderfully fun to read, especially for us city folk offered a glimpse of life on a working farm. In my last week's box I had enough veggies to last a week, but just the right amount and variety. Beautiful strawberries and blueberries, so sweet, also peaches, salad greens, arugula, fava beans, snap peas, all my favorites! How did he know....? Thank you, Paul and Aurora!

Maureen M.

Yelp
Amazing fruits and vegetables delivered to your door at a super reasonable price! And amazing fresh eggs! Would definitely sign up!
google avatar

Mai L.

Yelp
I am so glad I found Greenhearts. It's exactly what I was looking for: fresh, locally grown, seasonal produce delivered. The produce is a good mix of familiar and less so. So far there's always been something that can go in my daughter's lunchbox like apples, carrots or grapes. There's also stuff like celery root and kohlrabi, which take more googling (at least for me). I appreciate it because we eat way more veggies now and it's pushed me to be more creative with my cooking. We are 2 adults and a young child and the biweekly delivery is perfect because we do have busy nights when we don't cook. It's easy to skip a week as long as you give them notice. If you enjoying cooking and eating, and want to support local business and agriculture I definitely recommend!
google avatar

Jaylena P.

Yelp
Oh my God did the farm just get delivered to my kitchen!? All of this greenery makes me want to become a vegetarian. Just kidding, I would never. But hot dog! I want to just eat everything all at once. The vegetables look so beautiful I feel like I just pulled them from my own garden. How easy was this process you might ask? Too easy. On Tuesday we signed up, Wednesday the owners confirmed our information then Friday BAM! Wholesome, organic, fresh, local produce from the farm at my doorstep. The food is all seasonal, so it's a wonderful opportunity to try new veggies you might not otherwise purchase from the market - because you don't know what to do with them. Let me tell you Avocados don't grow year round, like you think they do. For me it is Acorn Squash; time to break out the cook books and bring out my inner Julia Child! I couldn't resist tasting the San Marzano Roma tomatoes from the bag. They exude juicy perfection. The eggs from Pasture Chic Ranch were so adorable that I wished it was Easter so I could paint them different colors. Funny thing is they already are different colors and sizes. Just like you and I. They made me appreciate the different hens that laid these eggs. Thanks ladies. You can select a weekly delivery with or without eggs, or a bi-weekly delivery with the same option. The box your food arrives in is collected with your next delivery and they recycle the egg containers and paper bags. So they are also helping you with managing waste. At $89.00 a month for a bi-weekly delivery of magnificent food, I say hurry up two weeks so I can find out what will be in the next box!
google avatar

Yelp
This is terribly long overdue. Greenhearts has become the backbone of our weekly meals for the past year and a half, I honestly don't know what I would do without them. Every Thursday (for us, it may be Wednesday or Friday for you), we eagerly anticipate our bountiful CSA box. It contains both familiar and unique items, always organic and delicious. You can also order extras, depending on the season. Paul and Aurora and all the other Greenhearts staff are the loveliest people and will always make sure your order is perfect. Also, if you have the opportunity to visit the farm on a "you pick" Saturday, definitely do so. It is therapy for the soul.

Yelp
Received my first box. AMAZING! An abundance of beautiful fresh veggies. Can't wait to start eating it all! It even included a recipe!

Yelp
Farmer Paul is an amazing writer. Each week's box comes with a list of what we got, some recipes, and aa well-written story of some aspect of lIfe. Oh, and the veggies, fruits, kombucha, and other options are outstanding as well.

Holly F.

Yelp
Hi Farmers Paul and Aurora, We wanted to let you know how much we appreciate the beautiful, colorful and tasty organic produce and farm-fresh eggs your team delivers to us every two weeks. Along with Farmer Paul's wonderful essayettes. First, the produce: because of your csa boxes, we have become much more appreciative of where our food comes from and the work of many hands involved in growing, harvesting and delivering it. I've now met many vegetables that I never knew existed before (or perhaps had only heard of). I've tried out new recipes and served new delicious dinners because of your box. We appreciate the back-office work that Aurora does to facilitate the operations and keep them running smoothly. Thank you, thank you to both of you! Second, the notes: we always look forward to reading your notes, Farmer Paul. I look forward to digging up the soggy white sheet at the bottom of each box. Sometimes your poignant words make us cry, or laugh, but your observations and insights always go straight to the heart. The recipe ideas are very appreciated, especially when trying to figure out what to do with unfamiliar veggies. We have a stack of your notes piled up on our kitchen table, for re-reading or sharing with family and friends. Paul, you should think about a second career as a writer (yes, I can hear you groaning at the thought)! Anyway, please know how much we enjoy getting your regular notes. Sending our appreciation for you and your whole team!

Taylor A.

Yelp
I look forward to my CSA box every week! The produce is beautiful and I am always amazed at how flavorful and fresh and colorful everything is every single week. I am also glad to know I am supporting local, organic agriculture. Farmer Paul's weekly note is a wonderful addition! I love having the option to add on items from honey to eggs, kombucha, or poultry. Aurora and Farmer Paul and the whole Greenhearts team are so helpful and dedicated, and their commitment to serving the community. It has been a great experience from the start, I recommend Greenhearts to everyone!

Yelp
When we signed up to get a weekly CSA box two years ago, we had no experience in getting any kind of farm box or home grocery delivery. But, hey, lots of new experiences in a pandemic! I was unsure about which one to go with at first, but once I showed my mom the options, it was clear. She immediately looked past all the big guys and gravitated towards Greenhearts. She said they looked kind and friendly, and she had a good feeling about them. Well, I'm so glad I went with her pick because two years and over a hundred boxes later, I can say her gut was right. Greenhearts Family Farm has consistently shown integrity, responsibility, and demonstrated an earth-loving and hard-working ethic. We look forward to their boxes full of seasonal, organic, and delicious goodies every week (and Farmer Paul's letter, of course!). As someone who loves to cook, I also appreciate being introduced to produce I would never have tried otherwise. We've learned a lot and eaten well. Highly recommend!

Yelp
**Edit** Whoa, check out the business's reply! Guess what, I'm actually a business owner myself. I've had to deal with Covid too! One of the parts of being a business owner is being able to take thoughtful feedback respectfully. Notice how I wasn't sarcastic or rude at all in my review. I said many people liked it, but it wasn't for me. However, you responded very sarcastically and poorly! You deserve ONE star for that response! When my customers give me feedback, positive or negative, I thank them and think of ways to do better. I gave you 3 stars, which according to Yelp is "A-OK". I said it's not for me. I'm glad I didn't patronize this business any more! You made me feel terrible. PS. My family actually ran a small farm when I was a kid, so I know it's hard work. We sold vegetables to the supermarkets 2-hour drive away. **Original review** This CSA is fine but I'll probably stick to my shopping at the local grocery/farmer's market. I know they have a lot of glowing reviews and I really wanted to like it too. But, what I get for $40 doesn't quite reach my expectations. While most items are quality, some fruits were similar to what I get at the local grocery (say apples/tomatoes/pluots), except I only get 1-3, instead of a bag. I didn't have the best experience with sign up and scheduling either. I like supporting local farmers, and lots of people like this CSA. So, I wish them the best. Maybe I caught them at a transition time between seasons and the best time is in the midst of summer. I don't know, but for now I'll stick to my local groceries/farmer's markets.

Lauris J.

Yelp
I think I'm in love. Just received my first box and am struck by the robust quality of the produce. No wimpy, limp stuff; a huge head of romaine and a bountiful bunch of red chard really impress. All the other items look amazing as well. I haven't cooked anything yet but plan to start tomorrow. i have a good feeling about this...(ps, thanks for the lovely sunflowers!). A check-in a couple weeks after delivery...I might not order again simply because it's a lot of food descending at one time for a single person. But I had concerns about storage/ extending the life of the produce and received a very gracious reply with suggestions that proved quite helpful. My delivery included some of the most delicious tomatoes (I didn't realize they could taste so good) and grapes I've ever had in my life. If I opt to buy another delivery box, it would be from this wonderful farm. my best wishes, L

Yelp
The best local CSA, the quality and value and Uber local carbon footprint can't be beat. Farmer Paul even writes a weekly note in each box and gives personal recipe ideas to anyone who calls him. Feels like a community/ family to us and delicious veg to boot.

Yelp
LOVE my bi-weekly Greenhearts Family Farm produce box! We've been getting their produce boxes for a couple of years now, and we always get a nice set of great veggies and fruits. I can't recommend their produce boxes more highly!

Yelp
High quality, organic fruits and vegetables delivered to my door! Greenhearts family farm has opened my eyes to new veggies (e.g.,kohlrabi) and is helping my fiancé and I add more produce into our diets. My mouth waters thinking about the perfectly ripened strawberries and blueberries we've received over the past couple of weeks. Mmm! I personally love the note from farmer Paul placed in every box. He offers inspirational thoughts and recipe ideas. Two thumbs up!!

Yelp
I've been getting Greenhearts delivered on and off for nearly three years. I love it! Other reviewers have already gushed about the high quality produce and variety that's delivered every week and I wholeheartedly agree. Everything is lovely and as a single person, the produce lasts a whole week for me--except the fruit -- I always gobble them up right away! If you're trying to decide whether or not to get a delivery, I hope I can encourage you to go for it! I'm in SF and my delivery comes every Friday around the same time. I always feel more in touch with the seasons and passing of time when the fresh, local produce is delivered.

Yelp
We've been getting weekly Greenhearts produce boxes for 5 years now! A big, balanced box of local, delicious produce delivered to your house, with bonus prose from Farmer Paul every week -- what's not to love?? Especially appreciate that the boxes always have some things that can be eaten raw and pretty much always have some fruit, even in the winter. We tried a few other produce delivery services, including other CSAs, before we found Greenhearts, but we haven't looked back now that we found this gem!

Yelp
Topnotch organic produce, always delicious, each box comes with a note from farmer Paul, whose words are often very moving. I'd forgotten what fresh produce tasted like until we started getting these boxes. It's so much more flavorful than the supermarket. The produce actually lasts for a long time in the fridge because it's so fresh. Wow. We can't live without it now. It's like Christmas each week when we get our delivery. :)

Yelp
Bomb dot com! I love you, Greenhearts. I have tried other CSA's (ahem no names but lets just say they are the big dogs in town) and Greenhearts is far superior. Aside from the fact that they deliver delicious, fresh, organic produce, I feel like I know my farm(ers). Paul, the farmer, delivers my box every week, (not some stranger, but the actual farmer!) and I correspond with Aurora, the other owner on my delivery schedule. They are hard working people just trying to make a living doing what they love. Every time I get my box it is STUFFED. Paul (or maybe Aurora?) write a little newsletter to let us know what is in the box and sometimes it just cracks me up. One fine ditty he wrote is "Farmers Markets, they are cocktail hour for the Prius crowd". Is that the truth or what! LOL. He writes about what happened during the week, like one farmer's wife was in labor so we didn't get strawberries in our box. Sometimes there is a simple recipe, like the one for Grilled Padron Peppers (traditional to the Galicia area in northwest Spain). He often gives the name of the farm the produce is from as well which I very much appreciate. There are also new things to try like sunburst squash and emerald pluots and romanesco broccoli. For $35 you can easily feed a family. I am scheduled for every other week delivery and it is a real feat to get through the entire box for 2 people. The value is definitely there, but the real value is in putting your money into something you believe in and that is sustainably grown organics and locally produced food. Some of the nitty gritty: no subscription necessary. I am on an every other week schedule but if I email Aurora before Tuesday I can change that. You can add things to your delivery such as pasture raised eggs, pasture raised chickens, grass fed beef, kombucha tea, kim chi, honey, sauerkraut, and dill pickles. You will get an email from Aurora letting on Wednesday before your delivery to let you know what is coming and what other items you can add to your delivery for a charge. Box from 11.30.12 - 2 heads cheddar cauliflower - 2 heads red butter lettuce - 1 bunch spinach - 7 Jonagold apples - 1 bunch Spring onions - 1 bunch Red Chard - 3 Delicata Squash - Kohlrabi - 2 bunches Nantes carrots - 3 onions, different types - 6 artichokes - parsnips (I didnt get any parsnips but got 6 fresh eggs instead!) I tried to fit everything in the picture but it's too much! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/greenhearts-family-farm-csa-san-francisco?select=vs52D9_oGBD8t6Z1JkbI_w#nNwFb7KawY8sHRD3J-wESw Picture of a delivery in mid August: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/greenhearts-family-farm-csa-san-francisco?select=vs52D9_oGBD8t6Z1JkbI_w#MaFf-JlmX4uijzxkltT1Kw If you are looking for a CSA, great produce, or a way to support local small businesses, please, please use Greenhearts!
