Andra was so welcoming and nice, she made our experience amusing! We ordered biscuits and gravy (nothing special but good) the eggs Benedict was disappointing but they tried to fix it. Props to the server. I will be back and try more drinks :)

Google
Overall a mid experience. Food was good but the prices are very high for what you get. Bathrooms were gender neutral but not super clean.

Google
The Mac and cheese was a 3.5 over time. The sauce was kind of a lot LOL. Maybe would've been better if there were more carrots to replace the missing broccolini I asked to have removed. The milkshake was great. 100% i would go back for the milkshakes. The Mac and cheese was $27 though and it wasn't on the menu nor did prices appear to be on the menu so I was really shook when the bill came. Just wasn't expecting to pay as much as I did

I recently visited Greenlake Bar and Grill and overall, had a pleasant experience. The ambiance of the place is inviting and well-designed, making it a comfortable spot for a meal. The service was particularly commendable. Our waiter was incredibly friendly and attentive, providing excellent recommendations on what to order. She suggested a couple of dishes, and while some of them were delightful, others fell a bit short. The standout recommendation was definitely the pizza, which quickly became my favorite. It was cooked to perfection, with a crispy crust and flavorful toppings that made every bite enjoyable. On the other hand, the elk burger was a disappointment. Despite the intriguing description, it failed to impress and wasn’t worth the stomach space. Overall, Greenlake Bar and Grill is a nice spot with good service. While not every dish hit the mark, the friendly atmosphere and standout pizza make it a good experience.

Google
Hummus plate, mushroom risotto , lettuce cups, fish and chips all good. Service fast well done.

Google
The food was surprisingly delicious. The wild mushroom risotto was delectable and the mixed greens salad was a generous portion and filling. Good selection of local beers. The worker also gave us great recommendations for things to see in the local area as we were only visiting. Overall, worth a visit for a drink and some food x

Google
Stopped by for a late afternoon appetizer in a quiet booth to work for a bit. Location is great, food is great, it turns out the service is excellent too! Thanks team, I really enjoyed my time with you!

Google
The lobster omelette was amazing. Came with wheat toast jam and breakfast potatoes. I added a greyhound!

Yelp
This is a great and affordable happy hour place! I got their burger for $7 and added a side salad for $4. Together this meal was very filling. This was a good deal but the burger and salad were doused in sauce, which is not my favorite. Next time I go I will definitely ask for the sauce on the side if possible. The restaurant was decorated nicely for Christmas and our server was great! It's a nice place to get some food and then walk over to green lake after. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Slow service, cheap quality food and loud drunk customers.. Not an enjoyable experience. Oh and too expensive for what you get.
google avatar

Tracy A.

Yelp
The location across from the lake draws people in, but the overall experience is underwhelming. The food is mediocre and overpriced for what you get. Service has been hit or miss on all levels. Have had slow service, efficient service, nice servers, and not so nice.

Yelp
The sign does not lie. Those shakes were really good!! The cod and chips were decent but the star of the show really is the milkshake. I think it's worth going to try one. The other stuff is alright and not my personal favorite but I would 100% come for the shakes. They just hit the spot especially if you're with friends. The server was nice and of course the view with green lake is super pleasant. Would recommend coming here for a casual night out with friends!

Yelp
Was drawn in by the world's best milkshake banner. The vanilla milkshake was definitely thick, creamy, and delicious for $10. The inside was a little dirty, but great service and overall a solid classic sports bar.

Yelp
Great flavors and close proximity to the park. Between myself and the part of 5 with me I got to try several things. First the happy hour chicken sandwich. Very flavorful, but also different from the regular menu chicken sandwich. Absent the bacon and other garnishments, it was still very tasty. Second, I had a bite of the happy hour cheeseburger. The cheeseburger was delicious. My favorite thing to snack on was the humus with the perfect pita bread on the side. I highly recommend the blood orange margarita. I believe it's low ABV and really good.

Yelp
Came here after a group activity for some food and drinks. Popular looking spot right in the middle of Greenlake area we were seated inside for our party of 5 quickly as it was nice out all the outdoor seats were taken, so take note if you wish to enjoy that. I got a couple orders of Spicy habanero mac balls. 'Panko crusted' habanero cheese, jalapeño with sweet chili sauce for dipping. off the bat the consistency between the two plate was off, one had more sauce than the other, but I didn't want to raise that big of an issue with it. The mac balls themselves were ok. Slight kick with 5 "balls" per order running about $13-14. The sauce is the same as you get at and on any pub Thai chili wings order. The highlight was absolutely the milkshake. I got the Boston Creme shake, and man. It lived up to its reputation as they have on the menu that they have the best milkshakes. It was SOOO chocolatey, but not too chocolatey. If you're feeling a milkshake while here, I recommend. Not a bad spot come with a group, as it there is a fairly varied menu.
google avatar

Scott G.

Yelp
It's dog friendly!!! I got the breakfast and it was good. Nothing noteworthy but well executed. They have a "biggie deal" on the breakfast items on weekends which makes the food "less inflated". Service was a little chaotic.

Yelp
I've always been intrigued by Greenlake Grill's outdoor sign advertising the "World's Best Milkshakes". When a friend suggested an evening venture for milkshakes, I was ecstatic! We each ordered a milkshake, Reese's peanut butter cup and Oreo, respectively. Our first impression started off strong with a generous heaping of homemade whipped cream. The peanut butter cup was extra peanut buttery and rich, definitely the stand-out of the two. The Oreo was also delicious, though not quite as thick as the Reese's, it didn't stand out as much. For less than $10 apiece and a very large milkshake, we were quite pleased! I even got to bring home my leftover milkshake and drink it for dessert the next evening. Service was prompt, and the restaurant was pretty empty as it was Tuesday evening near closing.

Yelp
This is a nice place to grab a bite and a drink on green lake. The sandwich and the Bloody Mary were very good. The chicken fried chicken was alright

Yelp
Salad was good. Nice and fresh. Liked the margarita. Though, it could have been spicier or had a salt rim instead of a sugar rim. Otherwise, good! Spritz was nice and light as it should be. Overall positive. Tiff, my server was sweet, attentive and smiling. Manager came around to see how things were going. Positive vibes and a great spot!
google avatar

Wei-Wei C.

Yelp
Shake was warm? It wasn't as cold as expected but I love it as someone who likes to drink hot water most of the time. Steak salad was good too. Serve was friendly.

S W.

Yelp
On the positive note, the vibe was cute and I enjoyed sitting near the large open windows enjoying the sun & breeze right near greenlake. The not so great news - the food & drinks were not great. I got the half BLTA with Caesar salad. There layer of mayo was so thick I thought initially it was a slice of mozzarella. Literally there was a 1/4" slab of mayo. The salad was good though. My friend ordered a margarita and it was so strong neither of us could drink it even after diluting it in a tall glass. The server was nice & removed the charge though. Overall, I'd maybe give it another shot but would order something more classic like the burger.

Yelp
Been coming here now about a few times a month ! That Meatloaf is incredible super friendly staff a fan !!

Yelp
We happened upon this place just passing by while walking to our car after walking around the lake. We sat outside with my dog. 89 lbs but well behaved and quiet. The service was accommodating of him. They were a little slow to come around to take our order, probably understaffed, but then the food came quickly. It was so good! They were nicely plated and delicious. We had the Beet salad and Burrata. If they are any indication of the rest of the menu, we plan to come back and try something else, or just have the same yummy items. Thanks to the kitchen for the creativity and effort.

Yelp
If you see a line forming at Wooden City and are considering walking across the street to Greenlake Bar & Grill, don't do it. Stay in line - you'll be glad you did. I live in the neighborhood and have made this mistake several times, hence this overdue review. Unfortunately, every time I visit this restaurant the service is a 0/10 and the food is 5.5/10. It's average (not great, but not bad) but you'll be waiting around for 10+ minutes just to be greeted. By the time your order is taken and your food arrives, you'll have lost track of time for a meal that was more or less forgettable. (Pro tip: don't sit at the bar...the service seems to be worse in that area.)

Laura F.

Yelp
Friendly service. Great location. They try on the food so mostly good. Good presentation. Most entrees are $28,00. They have now added a 5% Livable Wage on the check that I did not notice the first time. The tip choice starts at 23%. This started a week ago. Sorry. I have wanted to help keep this place in business but it's not that special to me.

Yelp
if you want an over price wendy's chicken sandwich this is your place. Took maybe two bites and the bartender clearly noticed we didn't like it and didn't offer to take it off. Had to go back to go back in and talk to a "manager" aka another server and get it void which took way too long. They ended taking care of our bill but frankly there's no ac, it's over priced for how bad the food is, and there's a bit of an attitude from all staff. I don't need a girl yelling from across the restaurant about it being an up charge. Also 80% of their beers were out. Then I misread the menu and when I asked the food runner he wasn't sure about the menu(red flag how does your staff not know about your menu) but then the bartender have to make a scene about her being correct with the menu to make us feel bad? not sure what her intention is. Long story short, save yourself the heat wave and just go literally anywhere else. I can see where this place has such bad reviews. We've always wanted to try it because our house is on greenlake and we were excited to try it but you could pay me to walk back in that door with so many better places around. I agree with the review below, just stay in line anywhere else. there isn't a line here because it's awful.

Yelp
Outdoor seating just opened up and it's nice since it's right by the park and green lake. We ordered a few drinks, fried calamari with curry sauce, and truffle & mushroom flatbread. We particularly liked the spicy pisco sour, but would say the food is average. Since a nice spot to hang out when the weather is nice though, and the staff who served us was very attentive & friendly.
google avatar

Camryn E.

Yelp
The food is great, but my "world's best milkshake" was warm?? Definitely a vibe but the service is mid and the shakes are too.
google avatar

Aubrey O.

Yelp
sooooooo best milkshakes in the world? that's still up for debate but they are pretty damn good. i've had boston cream pie, blueberry lemon(i think), strawberry + nutella, and the peanut butter cup. the boston cream pie is my favorite! excited to try the boozy shakes next time im at greenlake! if you sit in the outdoor portion of the bar area you get a nice view of greenlake! the service was minimal but that is to be expected when only ordering milkshakes.

Jason C.

Yelp
Oh my goodness. We are here now. Beautiful Sunday afternoon October 13th 2024. Ordered an appetizer just before the dinner service. That was great. Thank you. The two drinks we ordered of of the menu taste the same. Completely different drinks. The float of grand Marnier left off of mine and the strawberries left out of my wives. Two key ingredients to both drinks. No bueno. What has happened to this place? We paid up and couldn't wait to move on. I'm so sorry. Very disappointing
google avatar

Yelp
Great atmosphere with Trivia on Wednesday evenings. Lovely customer service & delicious summer eats. Don't forget to try their milkshakes - described as the world's greatest. The mint chocolate chip milkshake was extra minty - perfect for the summer!

Yelp
I'm a bit surprised at the number of positive reviews, to be honest. I hope and willing to believe I keep catching this place at a bad time, because I really want this place to be good. I find GBG to be vastly overpriced, their 20 dollar hamburgers remind me preshaped puck like frozen burger patties you can get at the grocery store. The last few times I've been there it's not been busy, takes forever to anything, water. menus, you name it. And watched my food sit under the warming lamp for longer than ever should happen, especially at this price point. The place is nice and could be a lot better, wait staff is nice but either really new or overwhelmed as it's hard to get service even when it's light attendance. Food is barely "cooked" and more like warmed and assembled.
google avatar

Sarah S.

Yelp
LOVE this place! They are enforcing masking, distancing, and are actively cleaning. The waitstaff was so friendly. :) We ordered a Chicken Buffalo Sandwich (I didn't order it with the blue cheese crumbles, but it comes with that), a Chicken Caesar salad, and black coffee. Whatever coffee they use really hit the spot! The chicken was seasoned well and the salad was fresh! Perfect to accompany the lightest but fullest chicken buffalo sandwich. The bread they use WITH the chicken buffalo is phenomenal-you could easily just eat the bun on its own. The chicken was perfectly breaded, and the buffalo sauce was great! If I could, I would eat that sandwich every day. The price was right for the food, and we loved our waitress. I can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Yelp
Enjoy coming here for their weekend breakfast specials from 9-11am. We hit this place up after our morning walk around Greenlake Park. They have a bunch of their breakfast items that are $9.99 during this time along with free coffee. Can't get a better deal than that for breakfast!!! They have both indoor and outdoor seating.
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
Staff is very nice. Beer is good and the menu is fine. But if you are an industry person yiu will smell dirty fryer and stale Cologne . Food is just ok . They were playing Blink 182. So if that's you you will love this place . Like eating at Costco.

Yelp
Stopped by after walking around Green Lake to get some dinner. We were welcomed and seated quickly during dinner service on a Thursday. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. One of the drinks we ordered was out and she communicated it and got something else going very fast. The decor was nice, I liked a lot of the art they had. Then the food came! To start we had the Tempura cauliflower curry style (Not pictured due to being eaten quickly) and it was phenomenal! The sriracha yogurt sauce was perfect. Mains were Gnocchi and the Fried Chicken. Both were perfect, and everything was cooked and plated nicely. The gnocchi was very cheese and soft, it went really well with the tomato basil soup. The fried chicken was cooked to perfection and the sides were flavorful and classic homestyle deliciousness. There are options for indoor and outdoor seating and street parking, although it is right across the street from a parking lot for the lake if you can walk. We really enjoyed our time and we are glad we checked this place out!

Kelly H.

Yelp
We really like them. This is very straight forward American style food close to green lake. It is a nice location and a nice space, when we were there the patio doors were open which made the whole place feel open and breezy. Service was prompt and attentive. They have a great milkshake menu, and our 6 year old loved it. We'll be back. Reliable kid friendly option.

Sally D.

Yelp
Food was good. Seasoned well, but I don't want to pay $15 for lettuce wraps when the chef just puts stems of cilantro. At least take the leaves off and add, I don't want to spend my time taking the stems off to eat. They also needed more cucumber and daikon(literally one piece of each on each wrap). I asked for extra chili oil, server never brought it out. She seemed nice but not very attentive and just sub par. Also, why are the trash cans right under the paper towels, so when I pull my hand hits the trash. Also the other bathroom had no paper towels and was very dirty, hence the stars I put up. Could be better, just not worth $80 for an app, entree and two cocktails.

Yelp
POOR AND PARTIAL SERVICE!! I received a $25 certificate to use at this location or other locations owned by the company and I happened to call this restaurant on Mother's Day to place an order using this certificate. The front desk immediately says I can't use it there without a second thought. And I asked why can't I use it when it's a certificate that has the business name on it. She says she'll go ask the manager and comes back correcting her words that I can use it... why is she giving me her own made up rules? Anyways, she says I can use it but I can't use it today because it's Mother's Day. This is a certificate, much similar to a gift certificate or card that doesn't have terms and conditions on it. why is it that they make their own rules on the spot? When will I ever be able to use this certificate if they keep on making reasons that's not said on paper that I can't use it?? The food might be good, I don't know. But for sure, the manager is partial and not customer based and the front desk girl needs more training.
google avatar

Yelp
This place has a great atmosphere inside and out. The outside chairs are not the best but good enough for bar type food Started with Mac cheese balls which was amazing and I want more, the sweet chili sauce is a must The food is rather tasty. I got the buffalo chicken sandwich which I would come back again for. It was even great for leftovers. The fries were acceptable for bar fries but not something I would come here for when you have that craving for fries. Also ordered the prime rib dip was really good, and would get again Drink selection for alcohol was sufficient, mix drinks were pretty good. They did have a minimal beer selection Portion size 5 Value for the money 4 Drinks 3 Taste 5 Service 5 Seating 3 Atmosphere- bar
google avatar

Yelp
As someone that lives in the immediate area, every time I come here it's as consolation to Wooden City. Honestly - just wait 20 minutes for wooden city. I've come here multiple occasions and the service is sub par 1/10 (brunch & dinner) and the food is fine, 5.5/10. 15 minutes for water and acknowledgment... probably my last visit here

Yelp
A group of my friends and I were going out for dinner with no restaurant picked. We ended up at Greenlake Grill by walking by and seeing they didn't have a extensive wait on a weekend evening. Food looks great so we added names to list and were seated in about 10 minutes. We ordered many different dishes including the delicious gnocchi, the inside out grilled cheese and tomato soup and the French dip. We loved everything we ordered, had delicious drinks, a really friendly server who seemed really happy to be working which is not always the case and fast service. Food was hot, fresh, and didn't take too long. Highly recommend the grilled cheese even for a dinner. Very good!! Lovely place near multiple other restaurants and bars so can walk around the area afterward and find lots of things to do.
google avatar

Jessica W.

Yelp
The food is very average and overpriced aside from the HH (Monday-Friday 3-5pm tacos are only a couple bucks and they have fun drink deals). I also personally find it irritating/super lazy that the business never attempted to update the decor or menus through all of their branding changes - went from Greenlake Bar AND Grill to Lunchbox Laboratory to now just Greenlake Grill (but it still has the exact same bar as before and the same owners...??). I don't think this place would be nearly as popular if it wasn't walkable from the lake. Three stars because of location and the service isn't bad.
google avatar

Brigid C.

Yelp
this place has a giant banner outside that says WORLDS BEST MILKSHAKE but let me tell ya. it should say worlds average milkshake. i mean idk. it's a good milkshake. but idk if i'd says it's the WORLDS BEST MILKSHAKE. the rest of the food was also average but the servers were nice and cool

Edwin M.

Yelp
We are a group of friends that meet every Saturday, rain or shine to walk around Green Lake. We have been doing this for at least 20 plus years. We have tried a number of eateries in the area to have breakfast afterwards. Green Lake Grill has proven to be the best in terms of quality of food and service. We highly recommend it for large or small group. Their menu is great. The Green Lake Walkers (formerly Runners).

Elisabeth B.

Yelp
Beer - 5 stars; Food - 1 star. So, 3 stars. It's clear that they just heat up frozen food in the back, which can still be good. I had the flatbread and it was worse than any frozen pizza I've ever made.

Irene F.

Yelp
I have been coming to to restaurant for a number of years through its many iterations and it's now back to being a great place to eat. I was very impressed with the salmon entree with a generous portion and great chili glaze. Also, the flatbread pizzas are tasty. Make sure you ask for the honey on the side. It is now in our "go to" restaurant rotation.
google avatar

Jona M.

Yelp
Pretty close to pickleball courts so easy to grab a bite right after sweating it out. Pretty absent minded staff, waited 10 mins to even get acknowledged at the host stand. Decent local beer options and ok food. Food came out fast after we ordered. Not a bad place if you are in rush or in the area.

Rachel F.

Yelp
We went for a late brunch. The food was delicious, I got a breakfast sandwich which was spicy and a little greasy (as a good breakfast sandwich should be!). Eggs were perfectly over easy. Service was friendly and fast, just attentive enough that we never felt either rushed or forgotten about. Honestly, there are more upscale brunch places around, but if you're looking for something cheap and satisfying, this knocks it out of the park.

Yelp
THE FOOD: absolutely delicious! All came out hot and fresh. Everything tasted amazing and was very filling. THE SERVICE: this is where the 4 stars come in. the service wasn't bad but it also wasn't good. just cold and unwelcoming. it wasn't the ideal welcome to the neighborhood we are scouting to move to. THE AMBIANCE: low lit restaurant on the corner of a Main Street. Park view and beautiful. THE PRICE: I felt as though it was overpriced for the portions. $70 for 3 people at lunch service. Meh. Could be better.
google avatar

Allan B.

Yelp
Went in with five others for dinner. Think I probably ordered the worst thing on the menu -- the pepperoni flat bread, which tasted faintly of hot tires. Literally everything else I saw looked and smelled far better. Can't wait to try that meatloaf, the prime dip, the burgers, salads, etc. I did enjoy my cocktail -- but, sheesh, inflation!
google avatar

Kristin R.

Yelp
The staff here was super nice and the food was really good! Walkable from the Lake so a good place to go before or after some outdoor activity! We ordered drinks too and my margarita didn't really hit the spot, but my friend customized one of their specialty non alcoholic drinks and added liquor and it ended up being really good lol
google avatar

Anders V.

Yelp
Food and ambiance was fine but service.ignoring me. I have nothing more to add. Good MRgarita when I. Was finally allowed to order it
google avatar

Sara J.

Yelp
We went here for the first time with moderate expectations based off the reviews, but holy cow were our expectations surpassed! Everything was absolutely delicious and I was pleasantly surprised by every single thing we ordered. Fries were super hot and fresh, Smoked Brisket sandwich was delicious and gooey with fabulous grilled onions, and my parents' Ruby Sandwich, Caesar Salad, and Coconut Prawns looked great too. Special drink was called "The Golden Rose", in honor of Betty White. I ordered the non-alcoholic version and it was fantastic. Clean and modern inside, very friendly host and waitress, and they made sure to check vaccine proof. 10/10 would recommend!

Yelp
I went to this restaurant on a beautiful sunny Sunday. I haven't been to the Greenlake area to eat in years since parking is atrocious. We entered the restaurant and stood by the host table waiting to be seated. Two servers were standing by the counter waiting for food to serve. Both saw us, but didn't acknowledge us. One server finally came to us and I asked for a table for two. She stated that we could only sit inside even though I could count 5 empty tables outside. I said "if we don't have a choice, I guess it's inside". Her facial expressions and body language indicated that she really doesn't enjoy her job. After being seated, the bartender brought us water and asked if we wanted to order a beverage. She was the total opposite of the person that seated us. She was friendly, outgoing and had a great presentation. Both dishes we ordered were great. I had the Ruby. The french fries were phenomenal! I would have given this restaurant four stars if it wasn't for the person that seated us. A first impression is an important impression. I doubt I will go back since it was not a pleasurable experience to be greeted by someone with really bad attitude and not willing to me when they have a lot of tables available.

Yelp
I went here for brunch and got the lentil breakfast. I was very pleased! It was fresh, hot, and arrived quickly. Our server was so kind and considerate.

Yelp
There are two items on a menu that are low hanging fruit, easy to satisfy customers: mimosas and a cheese burger. I had both at Greenlake Grill and let's just say I was highly dissatisfied. The burger patty to the rest of the sandwich (lettuce, onion, tomato, and bread) was undesirable to say the least. Look, if I wanted a salad on bread I would've ordered it. The mimosa was made with cranberry juice and lacked consistency and tasted disgusting.
