We visited Greenstar Brewing for dinner the other night and had a reservation which was helpful. We opted to sit inside since we had been outside all day and just wanted a place to stay cool and relax. They had lots of tables in the front of the restaurant near the bar, but for some reason, we were seated in the back room and we were the only table back there. Not sure if that was on purpose or what? But we did have the back room to ourself which was nice, but kinda strange.
Since this was my first visit, I looked over the beer menu and saw a few that looked refreshing and had unique flavors. The descriptions of the beers were fun to read and I knew that no matter which one I chose, I would be happy with the outcome. Our server came over a few moments after we were seated, and provided us some water. We chatted about the options for beer, and I thought about ordering a flight, but opted for the Gabba Gabba pint size since it was the one beer that really had me intrigued. Others at the table ordered different flavors as well so we had a few different styles on the table.
When our server came back with the pints for us, we were ready to order. Let me tell you, their chicken sandwich with arugula, avocado and honey mustard on a ciabatta sounded like a sandwich that was made for me so I had to order it with a side of sweet potato fries. I could not wait to eat it! Oh, and I had never tried cheese curds before, so we decided to try those as an appetizer!
Once we put our order in we did not see our server much. Our meals were delivered by someone else and my friend noticed that the salmon she ordered for her salad was missing; we waited for our server to come by, but it took about 10 minutes before she was at our table. My friend mentioned the salmon and our server was quick to say she would run back to the kitchen to grab it. Of course, the kitchen staff probably had to prep the salmon, so it took a few additional minutes before it was delivered to the table. My sandwich was great and there were so many fries that I was happy to share with others and we were enjoying the beers so we did have a good time, but the service was a a bit off that night. My friend ate most of her salad without the salmon so she said it was just okay.
We each ordered another round of drinks while we finished eating. I asked for a to go box and then we paid the bill and left. It was a good meal with good beer. I think the atmosphere was a little dull since we were in the back all alone at a table, I wish we could have been seated closer to the bar with all the other guests and I still can't understand why we were brought to the back. Maybe next time we can ask to be seated in the main room? Maybe that's what we are supposed to do.
