This is advertised as the first certified organic brewery. However, that doesn’t mean that the beers are well-made or particularly tasty. I haven’t found any beers that I really love, but the artichoke dip was really good.

This place is cool and hip! It was a good meal and a good beer! The staff were super nice and helpful and my food came out quick. I got to tase a few beers before deciding too. Great atmosphere and close to the action of baseball and other bars!

Interesting brewery near Wrigley Field. Good beer and a really friendly staff. I had their chicken sandwich special and it was very good. A really great place visit before a Cubs game.

This is not really a brewery. It's a really mediocre restaurant that serves $10 pints of beer from the mystery brewery. The beer was good enough but the service is awful. The one bartender literally kept ignoring me intentionally even when it was quiet. So weird. If I missed/misjudged something I do apologize and will revisit!

Google
Fantastic brewery with Organic beer. The tour includes a full beer, glass, and great informational guide. This place is attached to a restaurant and beautiful Air BnB (you might find me here soon). The place has an organic certified roof garden and amazing chef. This brewery has it all. It is very close to Wrigley Field so if you are going to a game hit this place up for food, beer, and place to stay.

This place is awesome! Beers and food are delicious. Block north of Wrigley on Clark at Grace. In the uncommon ground space. This is five star! Allen and Hunter rocked!

Absolute awesome brunch and brews! Spooky our waitress was phenomenal. The food was outstanding. Fresh and flavorful. Had the farmer scramble and substituted the regular peppers for jalapeños. Opted for salad instead of potatoes and so glad I did the salad was fantastic! My husband said his breakfast sandwich is one of the best he has ever had. We did make open table reservations because the Cubs were playing today. Never hurts it did seem fairly busy. They do offer inside and outside seating. Outside seating does have cover for shade.

Great experience with a great server! The beer was great for my first time trying a vegan beer. I would recommend highly for anyone who wants a great meal and a great brew. A little expensive but worth it for the quality and taste.

Yelp
At the Lakeview location of the venue Uncommon Ground there's also a brewery. Greenstar Brewing gives yet another thing to like about it. It's all organic. Certainly there's no need to ask, but yes it's also expensive. Try some organic beers and vegan food while having good times. Haven't been to a show at Uncommon Ground in awhile. In this location it's still open for drinking and eating. The Edgewater location also has the beer, but this is the brewing site. A good beer to get here is anything. It's about $8 for most pints. True it's pretty fucking expensive for a beer, but they don't brew a whole lot, only small batches so that's why. How about saving the environment? Try a ZCF. It stands for Zero Carbon Footprint. This is a German lager that's crisp and smooth. As for the food, it's easy to find something healthy. They have meaty options but also plenty for vegetarians. It's about $12 or more for an entree. Try some salad with the vegan Caesar dressing, much healthier than the real stuff. Gets busier for shows of course but go earlier if you want more room and don't care about music and concerts. If you like this one and want to go somewhere bigger, then check out the Edgewater location. They have about the same menu there.

Yelp
The beer was good- not amazing. I had the Berliner and the Pilsner . With so many other choices of breweries, I would skip this dot if you were going just for beer

Yelp
We visited Greenstar Brewing for dinner the other night and had a reservation which was helpful. We opted to sit inside since we had been outside all day and just wanted a place to stay cool and relax. They had lots of tables in the front of the restaurant near the bar, but for some reason, we were seated in the back room and we were the only table back there. Not sure if that was on purpose or what? But we did have the back room to ourself which was nice, but kinda strange. Since this was my first visit, I looked over the beer menu and saw a few that looked refreshing and had unique flavors. The descriptions of the beers were fun to read and I knew that no matter which one I chose, I would be happy with the outcome. Our server came over a few moments after we were seated, and provided us some water. We chatted about the options for beer, and I thought about ordering a flight, but opted for the Gabba Gabba pint size since it was the one beer that really had me intrigued. Others at the table ordered different flavors as well so we had a few different styles on the table. When our server came back with the pints for us, we were ready to order. Let me tell you, their chicken sandwich with arugula, avocado and honey mustard on a ciabatta sounded like a sandwich that was made for me so I had to order it with a side of sweet potato fries. I could not wait to eat it! Oh, and I had never tried cheese curds before, so we decided to try those as an appetizer! Once we put our order in we did not see our server much. Our meals were delivered by someone else and my friend noticed that the salmon she ordered for her salad was missing; we waited for our server to come by, but it took about 10 minutes before she was at our table. My friend mentioned the salmon and our server was quick to say she would run back to the kitchen to grab it. Of course, the kitchen staff probably had to prep the salmon, so it took a few additional minutes before it was delivered to the table. My sandwich was great and there were so many fries that I was happy to share with others and we were enjoying the beers so we did have a good time, but the service was a a bit off that night. My friend ate most of her salad without the salmon so she said it was just okay. We each ordered another round of drinks while we finished eating. I asked for a to go box and then we paid the bill and left. It was a good meal with good beer. I think the atmosphere was a little dull since we were in the back all alone at a table, I wish we could have been seated closer to the bar with all the other guests and I still can't understand why we were brought to the back. Maybe next time we can ask to be seated in the main room? Maybe that's what we are supposed to do.

Yelp
Green Star Brewing is an organic brewery.  It is located inside of Uncommon Ground in Wrigleyville, a few minutes walk from Wrigley Field.  The inside is small with some tables and a full V shaped bar and there is also a music room which has extra seating.  There is also an extensive outside covered area. Tom was my beertender for this beer tasting experience and he was very knowledgeable.  If you sit at the bar, you may be lucky enough to have him serve you. I will talk mostly about the beer, since Uncommon Ground is the restaurant that Green Star Brewing is housed in.  For food we had the bacon wrapped meatloaf which was uber delicious and the sweet potato fries with goat cheese fondue.  If you get the sweet potato fries, you've got to get the goat cheese fondue.  It is well worth it. The BEER: Spaceship IPA 6.9% ABV... this is a solid clean and crisp IPA... really great Zero Zero UFO West Coast IPA 6.9% ABV... slightly juicy and delicious... also great Mutti's Kolsch 5.2% ABV... this Kolsch was heavier than I'm used to which made me like it that much more.  It did have a slight vinegar aftertaste which makes me think it might have been almost ready to go.  I still liked it. Certifiable APA American Pale Ale  4.6% ABV... tasted like a citrus fruit cup, super drinkable pale ale... STUPENDOUS Uncommon Saison 6.9% ABV... it's a hoppy Saison.  The integrity of the saison is still there... this was really good. Love on the Run Belgian Single 4.6%... this one starts Belgian and ends citrusy and a little soapy... it is very drinkable Fun and  Games Belgian Style Strong Ale 8.5% ABV... Big Belgian flavor and packs a punch.  It's a little boozy  and really delicious.  This beer will keep your warm during the Chicago winters. Staff Apreciation Stout 5.9% ABV...My least favorite, it tasted of perfume. Roger's Edge Harvest Ale 5% ABV... Fruity and delicious and finishes a little dry.  Very good. Kudos to Brandon Stern who is the Brewer here because he is definitely doing something right. If you find yourself in Wrigleyville and you are craving some fantastic craft beer and some equally fantastic food, B line to Green Star Brewing.

Yelp
We stopped in before a concert at the Metro. The food was good. Beer was great. Brandon, the brewer, was very helpful and informative. We'll be back!

Yelp
We stopped in as part of a group tasting that a friend had received, what a great place and story behind it. Perhaps the Yelp Overlords will roll this into Uncommon Ground's reviews, don't know but wanted to give them a proper shout out. Greenstar is the first Certified Organic Brewery in Illinois and for those that are Gluten Intolerant who miss having a frosty cold one, you may want to look into this brewery. Martin Coad, Brewmaster, tells a compelling story as to the process that they go through and shares in the story behind their close tie with Uncommon Ground. They look to be expanding the number of vats to increase their ability for output. Currently you can only buy their beer in a Growler at the Clark Street location or on tap at the two Uncommon Grounds locations. We were able to have a taste of a number of their delicious brews including a special tap for 4/20. I highly recommend a visit, best part... they have amazing food just on the other side of the door!

Yelp
The Bloody Mary was so salty that I was unable to drink more than a few sips. We told the bartender and he tried the mix and said it had too much lime. No, it was too salty. If I drank it all, I would have been suffering the rest of the day. He added more tomato juice to the mix for others but still made us pay for our drinks. $14 each. WTH

Yelp
This is the first certified organic brewery in Chicago. Keep in mind there are 167 breweries in Chicago! The most in any major city in the US! I promise I do not work for this company, I'm just very impressed by facts I learned at a recent brewery tour. I went here last Saturday for a free brewery tour and tasting (if you don't subscribe to do312 you should!) and it was amazing. It's a very small operation, without the frills of other breweries in Chicago. But what it lacks in bells and whistles it makes up for in amazing beer and passionate employees. The brewery is located a few doors down from Uncommon Ground, and runs lines underground to the restaurant to have fresh beer on tap there. I had their Spaceship IPA, which is pretty darn good, and I don't even like IPAs! You can definitely taste the hops, but it's not as strong/forward as normal IPAs. I will definitely be visiting the restaurant on the regular to try more of their beers. And they have growlers available at the restaurant! So you could enjoy this beer in the comfort of your home anytime. Or be that beer snob at your friends' parties lol

Yelp
We were in Wrigleyville, and this was one of many breweries in the area. The appeal for me was the organic/sustainable practices. Not only does it have beer, but also it is a coffee house. The beer choices are excellent (loved the kolsch), and the bartenders are friendly and knowledgable. I did not order food, but the menu looked solid. Fair warning...for those expecting TVs for sports, etc, there are none to be had. However, it never advertised as a sports bar. I will definitely be back!
