Prior to a show, a friend and I decided to try out Sister, which was nearby our final destination. It came highly recommended by another friend of mine who spoke of it constantly and said I must go. So go I did.
The interior was very cute, intimate, and cozy. The bar area was lovely, and I couldn't help but take a photo.
My friend and I ordered several items and just shared them family-style so we could have a taste of everything.
We ordered the lobster burrata, Wild "Boarnaise" pasta, and the Clams Vongole.
The lobster burrata was good and had a nice flavor. However, I was a bit disappointed with the amount of lobster. While it had a few decent pieces, it was mostly tiny bits. I'd probably pass on that the next time
The Wild "Boarnaise" pasta was very hearty. However, I found the sauce to be a bit excessive in seasoning and in acidity. I did not find the recipe to be very authentic. The pasta itself was cooked perfectly al dente.
The Clams Vongole was probably the highlight of the meal. Everything about it was amazing. The texture, seasoning, etc was just spot on. I would go back just for that alone if I were in the area.
Overall, I would not put Sister on the same level as some of the other Italian restaurants in DFW, especially a particular one that's in Bishop Arts. The service was great. The atmosphere was inviting. However, the only thing I appreciated was the Clams Vongole. Perhaps I'll go back another time in the future and try some of their other offerings.
