The Best Restaurants In Fairfield County, Connecticut - Fairfield County - The Infatuation

"When you walk into a restaurant and it’s filled with old men eating soup, your meal is either going uphill or downhill, stat. At Greenwich & Delancey, it’s the former. The star of the menu at this upscale kosher deli is undoubtedly the pastrami sandwich, which at $36 is almost $10 more than Katz’s, but you’re in Greenwich, after all, and it’s worth it. The juicy pastrami is piled high onto homemade rye and served simply with spicy brown mustard and excellent all-you-can-eat pickles on the side. If you’re with a group and feeling flush, shell out $80 for the tableside service, where a whole side of pastrami is wheeled out on a cart, unveiled in a fragrant puff of smoke, and sliced like a prime rib for a make-your-own-sandwich adventure. Go on a weekday or Sunday, since the restaurant is closed for Shabbat." - chloe zale, ciera velarde

Greenwich & Delancey Delicatessen - Review - Greenwich - Fairfield County - The Infatuation

"When you walk into a restaurant and it’s filled with old men eating soup, your meal is either going uphill or downhill, stat. Fortunately, at Greenwich & Delancey, it’s the former. The star of the menu at this upscale kosher deli is undoubtedly the pastrami sandwich, which at $36 is almost $10 more than Katz’s on the Lower East Side, but you’re in Greenwich, after all, and it’s worth it. Start with the comforting chicken consomme with pelmeni and then move on to the main event, where the juicy pastrami is piled high onto homemade rye and served simply with spicy brown mustard and excellent all-you-can-eat pickles on the side. If you’re with a group and feeling flush, shell out $80 for the tableside service, where a whole side of pastrami is wheeled out on a cart, unveiled in a fragrant puff of smoke, and sliced like a prime rib for a make-your-own-sandwich adventure. Had a great experience at Greenwich & Delancey. It’s a very cute spot and the service is fantastic. Was there for lunch and enjoyed the Jeff sandwich and the G&D post workout sandwich, the Pastrami and corned beef just melt in your mouth. The cinnamon Babka was also delicious. We definitely plan on coming back.

The food was so fresh and delicious. Everything had amazing flavor. The service was excellent, the waiter Pavel was kind and the free samples of different starters from the kitchen made everything even more fun. We got the BLT, pastrami sandwich and matzo ball soup. Great portion sizes and would recommend all those dishes. The mashgiach Rabbi Tovia was very kind and helpful. I would come back every day if I could !

What a marvelous experience. Friendly staff clean kitchen and great vibes at this kosher pastrami house. Bubbe would be proud of the immaculate mouth watering pastrami, brisket and Eastern European delicacies. You can taste the passion. Even though we trekked from great neck it was worth the trip. Will be coming back!

The pastrami sandwich was phenomenal—easily on par with the legendary one from Katz’s Deli in NYC. The caviar bellinis were another standout and quickly became a personal favorite. They serve excellent dirty martinis and offer a surprisingly good tea selection. And don’t miss the pickles—they’re delicious, out of this world, and served complimentary. Highly recommend! The food is a bit pricey, but a great treat for the week.

The pastrami is uniquely good. It's pricey—$45 for a sandwich—and getting an order in can be tricky (it took me two tries and a bit of a wait) but it's worth it. They have tables but it's a little bit fancy, so you could impress a date, but I ended up eating in my car. Make sure you get some pickles, which are exceptionally good.

An immaculate dining experience from the moment we walked through the door. The glasses were clean and crisp. The water? Straight from Fiji! Delicousness. But in all seriousness, the pastrami was the best I’ve ever had anywhere in the world. It was melt in your mouth tender with a perfect brine and seasoning. The pickles were homemade and bursting of flavor. I am sort of a Karen when it comes to restaurant dining, but I can’t think of a single piece of constructive feedback. Try this place, you won’t regret it. I wish I lived locally so I could come here once a week! Pictured is a half sandwich (we split one).

I think we tried everything on the menu-ABSOLUTELY delicious!!! You will not be disappointed!! I am not a fan of pastrami, but they were kind enough to let me sample it and I have been converted!! It melted in my mouth and the presentation was a class act! We met the Rabbi, the Chef and the carver😊…such wonderful staff, very welcoming!! We will be back, again and again!

Wow!!! From start to finish this was a great experience. We walked and and were seated in seconds. Waiter was very attentive. From the pastrami blintzes to the brisket, everything was delicious, and serious attention was paid to the smallest details. The food is classic deli style with a twist. In addition to the attentive and gracious service,we were comped several appetizers and a dessert. Certified OU Glatt Kosher. If you are in the Greenwich area and craving some classic Jewish deli food this place is for you.
