I don't live in the area but have been here a few times when passing through. Each time I've had to wait quite a bit longer than normal for their deli offerings, and although the food is great, I wouldn't say that it's "worth the wait". The cooks behind the scenes obviously know what they're doing, but the deli staff - the ones that should greet you with a smile but don't - are just short of being downright haughty. Yesterday I stopped again for food - won't make this mistake again - and the ruddy-faced girl behind the counter clearly thought from the get-go that she was somehow superior to me; barely communicating at all. Didn't ask for my name, didn't tell me that I would have to wait at all (I just asked for three already-cooked chimichangas not heated up b/c I planned on taking them home and re-heating them there. The chimichangas were sitting in plain sight. Just put them in a bag for me, right?) Instead she takes them to the kitchen, comes back out and doesn't say a thing about how long it might take, or that they'll call my name out (didn't ASK for my name - although I hear them call another customer's name out, a handsome young man - maybe she only caters to them, who knows) - and when, five minutes later I inquired about the food, she behaved as if I was stupid and should have known it would take some time and why don't I go shop while I wait? (another ten minutes, and why???). Is the wait simply a calculated ploy on management's part to get people to buy more of their priced-gouged items? Then, as if to execute her coup-de-tat, she stands at the checkout counter chatting with another staff member about nothing, with me waiting five feet from her, and after yet another five minutes, looks up at me and asks if I'm ready to check out. I don't see the food I ordered on the counter so I say yes, I'm just waiting on the... and I don't even get the word "chimichangas" out before she says, "the chimichangas, yes, I know", all put-out like. So... they were right there, and she did know I was the one waiting on them, and she just.... made me wait. Even longer.. What??? This girl needs to find a job at a snooty country club; she'd fit right in. I did purchase a Christmas gift as well, and when she saw it she said, oh I got one of these too, so cute. Right. Too late to redeem yourself, young lady. Go learn some manners. And respect. I don't know what management is thinking, but they need to hire better staff. Enough is enough. The public that bothers to stop at your store deserves better treatment. I won't go back.
