Greggs

I forgot to write a review about this really Greggs outlet in Holborn, Central London. What reminded me was the lack-lustre service at one in Stratford, E. London yesterday. Anyhoo, back to Greggs, 60 Kingsway. Sam and his team are swift, polite, accurate and considerate even at high-peak lunch time. Food hot, cream fresh, coffee rust right. Its only a Greggs, but it's a good one and I recommend it if you're in the area. Yum!

Guy that served me was nice enough but the manager Paul was so rude to the other staff. Clearly only has the job as a way of bossing others around to make himself feel better. Overheard him saying he’s sick of babysitting as well as other comments and patronising tone.Hopefully he can work out whatever it is making him behave that way and work on it. Awful way to speak to colleagues and especially in front of customers.

At 6 am the cafe was not yet open however it was opened when I knocked on the window by Sam. My complaint is about Grace, how I was treated by the young black woman. Her body language and the way she looked at me and just slammed my receipt on the counter when I politely asked for it was wrong. The manager Sam I later found out her name was very professional & polite.

Bad attitude from the manager/supervisor. Food was cold and I politely asked if they could warm it up. I was told they are not allowed to do this. If they can’t heat the food up then they should make sure the food under the heaters isn’t cold, and drop the attitude.

Delicious affordable food, lovely staff and a nice atmosphere. Great location too! Lots to see while you sit.

Had a sausage roll & chips, a coffee & a cake. £10! Greggs is no longer cheap. It’s now expensive AND unhealthy. But worse still is the hygiene. It wasn’t a busy time, late afternoon on a Tuesday, yet the toilets were filthy, the bins were overflowing and the tables and floor covered in old food. Flys (even in late November due to the filthy conditions) thrive here. It’s such a shame, because a year ago when this branch first opened, it was very nice and clean, now it’s filthy. I won’t be returning. Next time I’ll spend my 10 quid across the road in Wetherspoons where at least the tables are usually clean.

I love the food and options here for a cheap eat. One thing that is consistently happening however with only one lady who always is on the tills, which I try and avoid. Doesn't allow me to scan the Greggs apps. I tell I have it and tells me to scan the app when she has already pushed the transaction to the card machine. So it doesn't register on the app. I've given up arguing the point. Please raise this and fix this. I get attitude when I try and bring this up. I fight the point when I have a free one. Because I know I'm not meant to be getting charged.

The staff and food are great. Only issue was the toilet, I was very shocked at how dirty it was ! It really needs a deep clean , there’s lots of caked on dust everywhere and a lot of flies when I went inside
