"Gregory’s isn’t the coolest cafe around, but they have a bunch of locations in useful areas like FiDi and Bryant Park. If you’re looking for coffee and wifi, you’ll likely be able to find a Gregory’s nearby (this particular one is convenient to the 68th Street 6 stop). The pastries are worth checking out as well." - Matt Tervooren

Google
Nice coffee shop close to Hunter College. Have seating as well. I like their lattes and iced coffee. Get the gregorys app to get points and rewards.

Google
This gregorys location is on the street level of my office building (Montague Street). So im a frequent visitor. The staff there is absolutely AMAZING!! Theyre friendly, helpful and just really nice people. Its always a pleasant experience. The coffee is good too! Doesnt have that terrible burned flavor some places have, their almomd chai latte with 1 splenda is absolutely heavenly and i have a soft spot for their banana bread. Its a huge grandma sized portion riddled with nuts and super yummy! Here is definitely worth a stop buy if you need a pick me up.

Google
What a Feeling? Caramel Hot Machiatto, Medium with a Dark Chocolate cookie... Oh, what a feeling... Great coffee, friend service and clean small but comfortable. Just what the community needed. God bless this place on my favor...

Tao L

Google
Pretty good tea and decor. The seating situation is not the most cozy/comfortable, but just a part of the shop's design to keep customers flowing.

Google
Absolutely glorious place near Hunter College. Vanilla lattes are so smooth and the cappuccinos are robust. I love this place. Give this place a try when you are near the East Side of Central Park. It is worth the walk.

Google
Great place for coffee lovers to grab drinks, chit chat or study. They can customize any drink and also have daily fresh bakery goods to go along with it.

Google
I really enjoyed the mocha. Also the carrot cake is awesome! Great place to stop if you like to avoid Starbucks.

Google
surely relaxing place to sit and work here though one of the employee was rushing to ask to order many times, it's no time for customer to respond.

Yelp
Service was standard. Tables inside are pretty small. Wasn't a huge fan of the hall&oats iced coffee, but maybe their other drinks are better.

Hadiya M.

Yelp
I've stopped in here twice in a row this week for my morning coffee and it is divine. Their pumpkin spice latte is not that sweet and really has a lovely warm spiciness that I can't get enough of. Croissant was nice and flaky to go with my coffee. Service is really good, short wait times and a veritable pastry selection in addition to their coffee menu and ample seating.

Betsy S.

Yelp
We went here for coffee - and I always like being able to sit and just enjoy my coffee with a friend. Close location to Sloan Kettering as well. I usually just get a black coffee which I did this time too. I wish I had my frequent visitor card with me -though I don't even know if they still do that. You should check the hours because they differ on the day. (I actually thought my friend was going to treat me, but he did not!). Anyway, they have all kinds of goodies as well so you can treat yourself well here!

Yelp
I didn't try any food, so I can't comment on that. The baristas were friendly and nice. I ordered a matcha latte, which was good. It didn't taste any different than other matcha lattes I've had at other coffee shops. I was surprised by the price, which was $6 or more. While I understand prices are rising everywhere, I don't feel the drink justified the cost. On a positive note, I appreciate that they are a socially responsible company; they donate a pair of eyeglasses to someone in need when you buy a bag of coffee. Their prices are comparable to Starbucks, but like Starbucks, I won't be a regular customer due to personal preference and reluctance to spend $6 or more on a single drink.

Jessie K.

Yelp
Lots of plugs, lots of seating, lots of food options (pastries, but also breakfast sandwiches, avocado toast, smoothies). Free wifi and strong enough for me to take a video call, but it would randomly cut out and I would have to take a few minutes to disconnect and reconnect etc. I got the green smoothie, which was not as green as was advertised and also a bit grainy because there's granola blende

Sean Y.

Yelp
Great spot to sit down and chat with friends or get work done- plenty of variety in seating (small 2 person tables to large group tables). Music isn't too loud and is always pleasant. Drinks are solid, I would say around the same quality as Starbucks. No "third wave" coffee but I don't Gregorys claims this. Baked goods are fantastic and are made in house, which is a plus for me. My one gripe would be that the bathroom could perhaps be cleaned more regularly:/ otherwise this is one of my top coffee shops in NY. Service is consistently good.

Nicole N.

Yelp
Tried Gregory's a couple times and feel like their latte and drinks are great but I didn't like their traditional coffee as compared to other coffee shops. As someone who likes lattes and their coffee mixed with other things, I appreciate how they have a big seasonal menu. For example over the summer, I really liked the Flower Power which featured lavender cold brew with almond milk. While the lavender floral notes were prominent the cold brew was a little watered down. More recently, I tried their Caramel Apple Latte which was perfect for the holiday season! It had a great mix of apple cider and pistachio milk with house made caramel. Loved how you could simultaneously taste the apple as well as the pistachio. It was very smooth and rich. Yes it was sweet as expected but I still enjoyed it! Unfortunately the drip coffee was only alright as it tasted kinda burnt? Maybe it was that batch but I definitely see myself coming back for other drinks. This location has a good amount of seating with appropriate amount of outlets. The AC was a little too strong over the summer but otherwise their wifi is ok, stable enough for basic things. Drinks came out pretty quick too!

Sydney W.

Yelp
This Gregorys is very clean and the staff is very friendly in the morning. The food and drinks are always ready by the time the app estimates

Sofya P.

Yelp
I love Gregorys!! Every single drink I had was made beautifully and it's such great quality ingredients. Pastries are also so yum! Perfect on the go! My go to.

Daniel M.

Yelp
Gregory's has struck the right balance between being a higher-end local coffee chain and enough loyalty perks that sticking with Gregory's means getting good quality coffee at a reasonable price, with excellent food options to boot - many of which are vegan or gluten-free!

Susan K.

Yelp
Gregory's is a well designed cafe with lots of seating. I've been impressed with their scones and pound cake! So good and scrumptious. They have a variety of vegan, gluten free goods. Coffee and matcha is great as well! Download their app and first drink is free!

Domonique M.

Yelp
Everytime I come to this location the staff is rude. You say hello? Crickets. Thank you? Crickets. I just went and the cashier was so rude but expected me to tip and aggressively kept checking to see how much I was tipping. I guess it wasn't to her (maybe their?) liking because they then said something in Spanish and the other barista was laughing then they made my drink incorrectly and with a lot of ice. Usually I don't comment about this specific store but enough is enough

Tati H.

Yelp
I've come to this location for several years and the customer service is great. No complaints from my end. I usually would stop by in the morning or for an afternoon snack. My favorite drink now is the Slow Jam. I also used to enjoy the Turmeric Latte (which has now since been discontinued) and the holiday drinks. In terms of pastries, after going gluten free my go to was the Banana Chocolate Chip Muffin. Sadly I have to report to this has also been discontinued and replaced by an Apple Cinnamon Muffin which is vegan but not gluten free. Sadness! Depending on when you go, it can be quite chill or busy. I appreciate the ability to sit at the cafe and do work since WiFi access is available. Thanks Gregory's Team!

Joey R.

Yelp
LOVE this place. A coworker recommended it to me and I haven't been able to quit you. The coffee is SOLID and the food is awesome too. The peanut butter bites are a solid mid day snack paired with my iced cold brew. Delivery is super quick too. You're missing out if you don't check this place out.

Kristine F.

Yelp
Fast service. The coffee wasn't anything special, nothing to remember. Kind of tasted watery. I got the pumpkin spice latte - had a good pumpkin spice taste but the quality of the coffee itself was okay.

Phil H.

Yelp
When you're looking for an alternative coffee chain over Starbucks then this is a decent choice. Nice place to relax with a tasty cup of java. Ok selection of pastries which I bought home but wasn't overly impressed with. Some were on the stale and dry side. Definitely looked better than they tasted. I'll stick to coffee next time.

Madison R.

Yelp
The 68th and 1st ave location is always a treat to go to! Great coffee and ambiance. Everyone I've interacted with that works there is so nice!

Estrella E.

Yelp
Surprisngly has a lot of vegan options. Definitely love the vegan egg and cheese on the croissant. Convenient for some after work food! Haven't tried their drinks yet but next time will do!

Carol W.

Yelp
I'm always looking for coffee shops to do work at and Gregory's is always reliable. I came here on a Saturday morning (around 11am). There was plenty of open tables, outlets, and free WiFi. I ordered the matcha latte which comes with almond milk. It wasn't too sweet which was nice but also tasted a little watered down (-1 star). They have an interesting holiday menu, the mistletoe's kids includes CBD oil. I didn't try it yet but maybe next time!

Elizabeth B.

Yelp
I opened my drink and realized the straw was broken on the bottom with numerous plastic pieces in the bottom of the drink. Check your straws for breaks before drinking.

Frankie R.

Yelp
Always great coffee and fast service whether delivery or in person. I go to my neighborhood location several times a week.

Erin J.

Yelp
Really horrible, everything I got was disgusting tasting. Do not waste your money here. Just really bad

Robin B.

Yelp
Gregory's Coffee is my go to Happy Place! I discovered them back in 2015- Their almond milk latte- made with Night Vision- is superb- lt was the first latte l drank, after becoming vegan, that didn't make me regret my choice- also made me feel as if l had been asleep for the last 3 years- l became a Gregular-'and have since patronize them on a daily basis exploring every location in the New York city area! l am so glad they weathered 2020 - Their baristas are professional , accommodating and amiable! I recommend it to all coffee lovers- their pastries and vegan burritos are also a wonderful option!

Logan M.

Yelp
Gregorys is my favorite coffee shop in the city! The service is always super quick and the taste is always the same according to your order. If you pass one this is a must stop. They also have an assortment of paste ties and the yogurt parfait is great!!

Nicholas G.

Yelp
Cool open space and a good contrast to some coffee shops where you are literally sitting on top of one another. It felt relaxed and comfortable. It is more than just a coffee shop. It has some unique treats in here. What really caught my eye was the rice crispy chex. Instead of rice krispy treats it was marshmellows with chex. The coffee is solid. You should check this place out. A bonus is that they have a clean bathroom which is always nice to find in nyc. Gregory's coffee is all over nyc so definitely check them out.

Jess L.

Yelp
I've always been a fan of Gregory's and was excited to spend some time here today. The dirty chai here is one of my favorites; I always get it here. I'd skip the vegan poppy seed pound cake next time, though; it was barely edible and needed some more sugar. There's lot of great seating here. I was able to take a phone call in one of the front window seats with some semblance of privacy, though the music in this store is a bit loud. (The phone call went smoothly, though.) The bathroom is also amazingly well kept up. I'd definitely stop by this location again.

Michael S.

Yelp
Delicious and the most accurate, organized delivery in the city. Everything is labeled, and their Seamless menu is updated regularly. Great job!

Kim G.

Yelp
Vegan breakfast sandwiches are so good! Please sell the vegan croissants separately from the sandwich!

NY Lady B.

Yelp
Apparently, Gregory's definition of a "blueberry muffin" is a muffin with ONE blueberry in it?! They also claim they bake their pastries in house and are fresh daily. This was stale, dry and had zero flavor. Tastes like it was sitting out a week. No freshness here whatsoever. This is the second time I've had to throw something out from here. Stop ripping people off, especially for inedible products!

Michael W.

Yelp
Once I heard tale that ol' Greg offers a vegan egg & cheese croissant sandwich you know I had to waddle my penguin arse down to checksky it out in the real real. I have always liked Gregory's hot drip coffee (black, no sugar, few ice cubes because you know I got a baby tongue), and now that they are expanding their selections to include vegans and the ilk it only gave me even more reason to drop in for a cuppa Greg. So... Was it good? Yeah, it wasn't bad. Honestly I'd have to rate it a 6-7/10 because the croissant tasted a little off. It could have been this one location, who knows. I'd certainly give it another shot, but if I was in the area and craving some v-egg I wouldn't hesitate to drop in again. Cheers, Greg!

Jessica C.

Yelp
Had the best customer service here that I have had in a while! The staff was amazing and so friendly! I got the black coffee and it was really good compared to a lot of other coffee shops over on the UES. We got the skinny breakfast sandwich which was good, and the carrot pound cake! Overall a great experience and the food was yummy!

Marianne W.

Yelp
Beautiful new environment. Reasonable price pastries with great flavors plus a huge variety. I'm going to enjoy trying some of the exotic ingredients in their pastry. I've never seen them elsewhere! I searched for Gregory's Coffee farther uptown. Especially after my daughter went to California and came back saying she tried to go but lines were too long. She said it's very popular in California. I said I thought I saw one here. When I looked I didn't see the sign again! Well low and behold I spotted this beautiful place when I was walking after lunch! Just what I need to get me back home and complete my three mile walk today! It's a huge space with plenty of seats. Tables, booth style and counter seats. Two stations with coffee accouterments. One unisex bathroom in back. Like I said, and you can see by my photos, pastry selections are unusual and look delicious for a reasonable price. Although the drip coffee doesn't compare to my other favorite places, I'll be back for a pastry. I may come to get a bunch to take home and taste test!! I'm too full from lunch today to even look at it! If you're in the neighborhood and enjoy Gregory's Coffee you won't be disappointed.

Racquel B.

Yelp
I'm only writing a review because the coffee was surprisingly really good. Maybe because I had a less than great drip coffee from another nearby coffee shop yesterday, I was prepared for a harsh first sip, but this one was smooth and oh so good. A 12 oz drip will run you $2.89 with tax and they carry Califa oat milk. Prior to covid, I'd only ever come to Gregory's for the after hours half-off treats. They were never spectacular but they were so cheap at discount that it was passable. Most recently, I've come for their new vegan deluxe sandwich which is a toasted croissant with plant-based egg, sausage and cheese. I don't know the details behind their supplier or how the eggs and sausage come so believably close to the real thing (it's a science project, I'm sure) but it tastes really good. I try to steer clear of the overly modified vegan eats, but it's nice for a switch up if you're nostalgic of a sausage, egg and cheese. My only gripe was the presence of flies shooting all around. Off putting and especially with open pastries, so I'm hoping they sort that out soon. Other than that, I know my new shop for coffee on the days when I want a treat.

Brigid C.

Yelp
Yes, it's pretty good coffee but in nyc I can find that easy enough. I was less than enthused with the customer service. Pretty rude, no eye contact, no thank you, etc. while this is typical at many retail shops, usually the local coffee shop is the exception. Coffe - nice and strong! Avocado toast - bland with cheap heat (red peppers). Nothing special.

Annette M.

Yelp
Great coffee! The coffee is a coffee drinker's coffee; strong but not too bitter (unlike Starbucks). Delicious and tempting pastries to choose from....I've tried the whole wheat donut, cinnamon blowout, brownies, double chocolate chunk cookies, muffins and banana bread (so good!).....all so Yummy! And displayed beautifully against the glass window, can't help but intice you to try them. The interior itself is modern yet inviting. The staff is friendly and cool!

David L.

Yelp
Coffee and food are quite good, but I could do without the nasty attitude of the cashier.

Phuong D.

Yelp
I always come to Gregory's if I ever need to get some work done while enjoying my coffee. I like that they have reliable wifi, bathroom and located at convenient locations downtown close to major attractions. However, as was the case for may other Gregory's around the city, the place tend to be crowded with high traffic, the tables are too small (enough for a laptop and nothing else) and outlets are not numerous enough for all patrons. Even still, I will come back for Gregory's because it is one of the rare cafes that allows me to sit and do work when I'm downtown.

David N.

Yelp
Better late than never! I am becoming professional critic for restaurants, companies, and local businesses. My experience at each Gregorys Coffee varies! From location to location staff are unique, kind, and great at what they do! However, at this location the Store Manager Stephanie, The Assistant Manager Ryan, and the rest of the staff are amazing! Mainly getting foot traffic during the work hours. It's a spacious place for a business meeting, group meet ups, working from your laptop for freelance or writing a undergraduate or graduate paper! The drinks are served with care and love. Music is full of top hits! At Gregory's all pastries are half off after 5pm! They may start holding weekly or monthly events, just ask the manager Stephanie for any event info!

Justine B.

Yelp
Really love their vegan breakfast sandwich and coffee. Excited to try their vegan wraps and sweets. The customer service at this location is ordinary not bad but not over the top. They seem to all be wearing masks and keeping everyone safe during COVID.

Jessy L.

Yelp
Stopped by one morning prior to starting work for a coffee and a pastry. I must say, they move quickly here! The staff at the front desk was friendly and gladly warmed my pastry of choice (chocolate brownie). I also decided to get a medium iced latte which mainly had the espresso within it. Had to add my half and half milk on my own. This was fine cause I decided to throw in some cinnamon powder at the top of my drink. Although it's a bit pricey, a trip to grab a coffee and a pastry is worth it. I've returned here once after my first visit and I'm certain that I'll return sooner than later.

Nancy C.

Yelp
If you love healthy options, this is your place. Tumeric lattes, matcha lattes, delicious hisbiscious teas. Also the pastries are all delicious and today I had Buzz bowl which was nothing short of amazing. Sweet potato, almond butter, bee pollen, blueberries , maple syrup- this bowl was so so good! I love all the healthy options

Linna F.

Yelp
I mainly come here in the mornings before early start to the work day. Their January promotion got me in the door and I keep on coming back! (If you're new to Gregory's coffee, use the Levelup app with them to pay for your food/drink, and get $10 in credit!) I like their regular coffee (I get the large coffee with some room for milk) - it has notes of hazelnut, chocolate and cherry apparently. Also, I have enjoyed their lattes. I hope to one day have some time to hang out in the coffee shop. It seems like a nice place to relax!

Yuling L.

Yelp
Wow! I use to be so excited that there was another coffee chain that I could like since every street corner was already dominated with Starbucks. Boy was I surprise to find that this chain is even worse. I ordered a $7 avocado toast. And I know it's so expensive compared to making it at home. But I was out and about with my 11 month old and there is only so much he can eat. But wow for $7, I got the thinnest spread of a avocado....which I saw came from a tub. God knows how long that avocado has been kept in the fridge. For the THINNEST already of avocado in history, I felt so jipped and in shock that anyone would sell that. Please don't insult your customers and even bother to sell this garbage and call it avocado toast. As for the coffee, I ordered a cold brew with oats milk, vanilla, and cinnamon. Tasted like all cinnamon which was just gross. I will never go to a Gregory coffee over a Starbucks again. At least they don't try to sell me avocado toast for $7!

Phillip P.

Yelp
Ordered a double espresso and it looked like half a shot. Even had to confirm it with the staff because I was shocked at how little it was. It went down in a hf a sip. I order doubles all the time and this has got to be the most brazen, smallest pour I've ever gotten from a coffee shop. Needless to say, I won't be coming back here. You shouldn't either....

Natasha M.

Yelp
Coffee like crack! Never smoked crack but uno what I mean. Strong coffee tasted great. Thanks guys I found my new spot! See you tomorrow

Isabel G.

Yelp
I usually go over to the location on 66 and Lexington, but I was closer to this location after going to the gym and I wanted a place to just chill and study. There is a lot of seating, which is often lacking in many coffee places in the city. However, it's a bit loud to do work in my opinion. The coffee was delicious (I got it black, which is always a good marker)! However, I tried the new vegan donut and it was very hard and oily. It was good when I dipped it in the coffee, but terrible on its own--I wouldn't get again. Disappointed because I don't eat much dairy and I'm always on the hunt for good vegan dessert. Also kind of pricy ($6.39 for the coffee and donut).

Ahmed F.

Yelp
Great coffee as always. The iced mocha is the best coffee drink on their menu. They also do customized drinks based on request. Lots of rewards on their app. This location on the upper east side is not as crowded and busy. So one of the better Gregory's locations.

Chez V.

Yelp
I came in this morning wanting an açai bowl, they're no longer available here. So I went with a smoothie instead. Due to some dental issues (mandible fractures and wiring that is insanely painful when exposed to cold drinks) I haven't been able to have ice in my drinks/smoothies for about 4 years. I requested my smoothie without ice, which doesn't seem to have posed an issue before, anywhere-- usually volume is made up with a little additional produce/ingredients or at the very least, milk. This is what I got. So just so y'all know-- half the smoothie volume at Gregories is just ice "for volume"-- per their staff on their presentation of this sad mess, to me. Smoothie cost $8.00-- $4.00 worth of ice. Don't come here. Directly across the street from this location is a deli that makes amazing smoothies for several dollars cheaper, with fresh produce and zero issues. Wish I knew that before wasting money here.

Jonathan G.

Yelp
I ordered an iced vanilla latte. They made it hot, and I asked for them to make it iced. Instead of remaking the drink they poured the hot drink over ice and gave me a watered down mess. Won't be returning

Kevin E.

Yelp
3.5 stars Came here to get an iced coffee before work because the heat outside was unbearable! I had high expectations for this place so it ended up falling a little short but I wouldn't say that it's bad. I got the iced Dirty Chai and I thought it was delicious! Very thirst-quenching and bold in flavor. I've never had dirty chai before and I thought this was a great place to try it out. I also got a Caramel Macchiato for my best friend and a Banana nut pound cake, which I found to be alright, a little too nutty for my liking. All of this was $13, which I would say is overpriced but I think the quality makes up for it. Service was meh, not as friendly and helpful as most reviews here make it to be but I think it's because the guy who was preparing my order just started working here. I would come back here once in a while if I am in need of a cold beverage or quick snack.
