"Jackson Memorial Hospital is probably the last place you’d expect to eat great food. But that’s where you’ll find some of the best Haitian food in Miami. Gregs Cookout is on the south side of Jackson’s Allapattah campus and will blow you away with its wings. We like ours with a glossy mango habanero sauce that’s sweet and buzzing with heat. They also have a fantastic griot that comes with your choice of rice, fried plantains, spicy pikliz, and a small side of chicken broth. Go for the savory mushroom for your rice option, and pour that chicken broth all over it. Then take a moment to appreciate how they get their pork shoulder so crunchy outside and juicy inside. If only hospital food was this good. " - ryan pfeffer, virginia otazo, mariana trabanino, carlos c olaechea

Gregs Cookout is on the south side of the Jackson campus and will blow you away with their wings. We like to order ours with a glossy mango habanero sauce that’s sweet and buzzing with heat. Each order comes with nine wings that are first oven roasted, then fried—plus a side of spicy pikliz. The result is meat that falls right off the bone. If only hospital food was this good. "If you’re in need of urgent medical attention, please don’t take the Metrorail to Jackson Hospital. But if you’re visiting for any other reason, then check out Gregs Cookout on the south side of the hospital’s campus. Order their glossy wings with spicy mango habanero sauce or juicy griot that comes with your choice of rice, fried plantains, spicy pikliz, and a small side of chicken broth. If only hospital food was this good." - Virginia Otazo, Ryan Pfeffer

I had wanted a good Haitian meal before I even visited Miami. On my last day, I was determined to go. I turned to Google Maps to help. I was quite surprised at how many there were. I chose Gregg's based on the price range, the convince to my hotel, and I saw turkey on the menu. I need to visit Miami again to try a different one. Maybe I got there too late. They were closing 45 minutes after I got there. My turkey was old and dry, the service was tired, and there's nothing worse than the employees sweeping the floor while I'm eating. Maybe if I revisit, I will get there early, and the dish will be fresh, or maybe I would try something altogether different. They definitely had good business and people coming, and the portions were good. I just was not happy 😔

Decent place food was decent. Wish they had Mac n cheese. The rice could use some salt but overall everything was good. The fried food wasn't fried hard and the meat and legume very flavorful.

I watched a review from a TikTok food reviewer and I was like I have to check this place out for myself. I want to start by saying the waiter was a sweetheart. I didn’t get her name but she was so nice. The ambience is chill. It gives a mixture of lounge and restaurant but very homey. I ordered the Haitian limonade so good. You can taste the lime in it. To eat we ordered the spicy balls w/ plantains and we also had the Tasso Turkey w/ rice and red beans. Sooo delicious. Check them out you won’t be disappointed.

I hate to downgrade my people, but I dropped a star for the food because the portions for the fried pork are the least generous I've ever had at a Haitian restaurant. To take up a spot in the container for just the sauce when it could've been used for more food isn't what most restaurants do. As for the food itself, the rice was on the dry side and the fried pork too. I thinking maybe they made the batch a few hours before I picked it up so it wasn't too fresh. I rate all Haitian restaurants by how well they do griot so unfortunately I rate Greg's average at best and the small portions put it beneath all other restaurants I've eaten at in South Florida. Hopefully they increase the portions going forward if they see this review since I want all my people's restaurants to succeed and do well.

Sorry I forgot to take a picture before eating 😔. This was my first time eating at this restaurant. I found it on Uber Eats. I ordered A side of white rice, the fried pork with black rice entrée, as well as the fried red snapper try, which macaroni, fried plantain, cajun shrimp, red beans, and rice. My food was properly packed and well secured to prevent the possibility of food tampering, during the delivery process. The food was tasty with the exceptions of the following: the fish lacked in salt, the red beans and rice was dry. Lastly, for the amount of money I paid ($113.80) the portion size was small. Despite of the few mishaps, I would definitely order from this place again.

On our layover in Miami, I decided to try a new Haitian restaurant and it did not disappoint at all. We had Griot, oxtail and shrimp. Presentation was great and food was flavorful

Legume was just a plate of oil. I don’t understand how someone can put something like this in a container and think it’s ok to serve. I ended up throwing it away. I had many meals from here that have been good but lately the quality of food has went downhill. The food is not the same. I even tried to taste it before throwing it away and no flavor. Very disappointed.

The legume was probably the best legume I ever had besides from my mom. Lots of beef in it which I appreciate. The rice was cooked to perfection and the beans were flavorful. The Cajun shrimp pasta had an interesting taste. But in a good way. The shrimp was burnt black on one side and only 5 shrimps. If the shrimp wasn’t overcooked I would’ve gave it 5 stars!
