GRETA OTO Frankfurt - SilverKris

"Housed within the luxurious JW Marriott, this is not a typical hotel restaurant and bar but a swanky, upscale spot where you come for the food and stay for the drinks. The ground-floor bar confidently holds its own against the namesake restaurant located on the floor above. Its drinks menu follows a Latin American concept, with mixologists serving pisco cocktails in several variations, including classic, with cashews and angostura, and with cilantro, lime and salt. The bar opens daily from noon to midnight." - Alethea Tan

Oh my God! I felt as if I was back home, in Kyiv. The service was amazing — something we often miss here in Germany. The atmosphere, the interior, every detail was just perfect. An ideal place for a romantic evening. And of course, the food was absolutely outstanding. I insist that you try the spinach with truffle — it’s unbelievably delicious. In fact, everything we ordered from the menu was exquisite. I highly recommend this place and I would love to come back again and again.

During my recent visit to Frankfurt, I had the pleasure of dining at Greta Oto (located in the JW Marriott hotel), a charming restaurant that offers an authentic taste of Latin America right in the heart of the city. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warm hospitality and a vibrant atmosphere that immediately made me feel welcome. The menu at Greta Oto is a delightful journey through Latin American cuisine, featuring a variety of dishes that showcase the rich flavors and diverse ingredients of the region. What truly stood out was the deliciousness of the food. Each dish was expertly prepared, bursting with vibrant spices and fresh ingredients that transported me straight to Latin America. The balance of flavors was impeccable, and the presentation was both appetizing and colorful, reflecting the lively spirit of Latin cuisine. The service at Greta Oto was exceptional. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about the food they served. They made sure my dining experience was comfortable and enjoyable, offering recommendations and ensuring my needs were met promptly. Overall, my experience at Greta Oto was nothing short of fantastic. The combination of delicious food, attentive service, and inviting ambiance makes it a place I would gladly visit again—any time! Whether you're craving authentic Latin American dishes or looking for a lively spot to enjoy a meal in Frankfurt, Greta Oto is definitely a top choice. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a flavorful escape to Latin America right in the city. I look forward to returning soon for another memorable dining experience!

Such a great restaurant! My husband and I ate here twice while visiting Frankfurt. We traveled through Germany and France and so far the best food we had in the last 10 days was here at Greta oto. The service was great as well.

I visited after seeing a photo of the ceviche, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations. The fish wasn’t seasoned at all and lacked the bright, tangy flavor I usually associate with ceviche. The scallops were nicely cooked, but the accompanying salad was overwhelmingly sour. Perhaps this is just the local interpretation of ceviche here in Germany.

I've dined here with a friend of mine, and this has been one of the very few "upscale" restaurant I've ever been to. The location is very convenient, and the restaurant itself is nice, clean, colorful but not aggressive, thanks also to the soft lighting. Loved the service, the waitress was very kind and attentive. The food was exquisite! The imperial king prawns were so juicy and well seasoned, and the accompanying sauces also delicious! The crackers with cured roast beef where delectable, a perfect starter, although the portions could've been a bit bigger, like 2 more. Dessert was also good, can't remember which one I got. I'm not an expert in fine dining, but I think the prices and quality are fair for the portions I actually got.

We’ve visited this bar twice in the past couple of months, and both times were absolutely fantastic. The first time, we stopped by after a movie planning to have just one drink—but it quickly turned into ten! The service was fabulous, the location is unbeatable, and the cocktails were outstanding. A special shoutout to Andre, the mixologist—he’s exceptional at his craft and makes every drink with such precision and creativity. Our second visit was with our wedding guests, and it turned out to be the perfect spot to gather before our dinner. The atmosphere was lively yet welcoming, and the staff made sure our large group was well taken care of. Everyone had an amazing time, and it felt like the ideal setting to kick off our celebration. This place has definitely become a favorite of ours—whether for a casual drink or a special occasion, it’s always a memorable experience. Highly recommended!

1. A Michelin Guide restaurant, but the hostess did not escort us to the table and only pointed with her hand where to sit. She did not take our outerwear, only did so after we asked. 2. We waited about 30 minutes for someone to take our order. 3. Order: gin and tonic. What we were served was essentially water with gin. After we asked to replace the cocktail, it was not taken away; instead, we were told, “You can drink this for free.” 4. Payment was possible only by card. As we were tourists and visiting the place for the first and last time, we should have been informed about this in advance. The staff showed no interest in the comfort of the guests. 5. A black cashmere coat was dragged on the floor. Apparently as a reaction to the fact that we did not leave a tip for such “excellent” service. The food was good, but the service was terrible.

Beautiful view, forgettable meal! The restaurant benefits from a lovely setting and visually appealing dishes, but the overall execution falls noticeably short of what it aims to be. Food:My octopus was surprisingly tough, and my friend’s salmon arrived overcooked. The plates looked refined, but the cooking did not match the presentation. Drinks:The biggest disappointment was the gin & tonic. It arrived in a plain, cafeteria-style tall glass, with no choice of gin offered and no garnish at all. The gin had already been poured into the glass, and the tonic was simply placed beside it. The result felt more like a basic self-service drink than something from a restaurant positioning itself as premium. Bread:When I asked for bread, I was told, “It’s usually not requested, so I should inform you it’s not fresh.” This kind of comment speaks for itself and is not something one expects at a restaurant presenting itself at a high level. Wine:The bottle we ordered had approximately a six-times markup compared to retail something that could be justified only with flawless service. Instead, the cork was broken during opening and the bottle was still served without offering a replacement. This does not meet professional standards. Service:While polite, the service felt inattentive, reinforcing the impression that the restaurant relies more on its setting than on delivering consistent quality. Overall:A beautiful view cannot compensate for the shortcomings in food, drinks, and service. In the end, the only truly enjoyable part of the evening was seeing my friends sitting across the table; everything else was, unfortunately, forgettable.
