Gretna Louisiana Farmers Market

This is a nice farmers market that has a decent mix of items. They really have a lot of variety here with the actual farm fresh produce often being in the minority of the choices. They have some freshly prepared food you can order and eat here and then other things that are packaged you can eat now or later. There are also many arts and crafts to enjoy and then an interesting selection of various other books, crafts and knickknacks. It does seem to be pretty variable here as I've been here when they had lots of amazing things and other times where the selection was blah. I've enjoyed some great live music here and then just had pretty blah times. The good news is this market is located right in downtown Gretna so there are lots of good options to eat and drink at in the area so if you arrive on a less than optimal market day there is still plenty to keep you occupied.

Absolutely wonderful little farmer's market w art as well as food. There's a little something for everyone and the vendors were all extremely friendly. My favorite dish was the spicy chicken tamales from Casita Jasmyn. These were the best tamales I'd ever had and I'm very familiar w/ authentic Mexican food. Please give this booth a try. If you enjoy Mexican food; you won't be disappointed.

This is not a small farmer's market in a parking lot. This is a huge farmer's market that overflows into the streets! There were lots of items from home decor, beauty-aids, health food, local produce, art, etc., etc.,! There were different types of food for sale. We went there to buy some 'bee pollen' from "Fleur de Bees" for my wife. She swears by it but couldn't find any since she moved to the area. Now she is happy! I highly recommend visiting this market!

Come visit MD Jerky @ Gretma Market. 300 Huey P Long Ave in Gretna Louisiana. MD Jerky has pretty good beef jerky, you will not be disappointed.

What fantastic market. Super fresh products. We loved the fresh shucked oysters, the pickled quail eggs, and the gumbo and the butter shrimp and crab takeaway stalls.

Great place for a morning or afternoon stroll. Good shopping for homemade foods and desserts

It was OK, not many vendors. Was disappointed after fighting traffic, parking nightmare. Maybe better when later in the season.

This farmer's market is awesome! Something for everyone, seriously. You gotta check out the BBQ truck – you won't regret it. And that goat milk lady as her products are amazing.
