Portland Pop-Up Incubator Grey Horse Saloon Opens in a Motorcycle Shop | Eater Portland

"I saw Houser transform the bar within Legion Motorcycle Company into Grey Horse Saloon, a hidden saloon and pop-up incubator inside a motorcycle shop; the “saloon” side is still in development as he awaits a liquor license, so for now the space functions as a home for rotating pop-ups (Third Coast Hot Dogs, Picco Pizza and Sushi Closet) while he refines the bar concept and prepares for a fuller opening." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

Oh boy—this spot quickly became one of my favorite late-night munchies stops. These hot dogs are SO GOOD. Forget the boring, plain sausage-on-a-bun with just ketchup—these are loaded with flavor and color, just like the Colombian hot dogs I grew up with. My personal favorite (of course, as a Colombian) is the one topped with pineapple. YUM. The owner is also super kind and always makes mine with the GF bun I bring along. (If you don’t have your own, he even offers a gluten-free almond flour tortilla option!)

Finally checked this place out. I love hotdogs. Their beef dogs are delicious and i did see they offered meat alternative sausages as well. I got one with Pickled Jalapeños and Tortilla chips. Amazing. Their buns are also delicious. Cool spot inside a motorcycle shop. Very unique idea. Definitely recommend.

Best dog in town! Perfect bun to wiener ratio. Unique flavors but balanced to perfection. Owner and bartenders are so down to earth and welcoming. Def returning regularly.

Sage is incredible. The hot dogs are incredible. Some people have No manners, and don’t deserve hot dogs. Anyone that has any problems with how this place is run needs to seek help. You know who you are.

Best hot dog in town. Period. Vegan and gluten free options as well. Welcoming to everyone. Ride a motorcycle, scooter or bike or walk or car doesn’t matter just go down have a great hot dog. And meet some great people. Very laid back. Grey selection of N.A.’s and good regular drink menu as well. A true gem in Portland.

Went there on an invitation from a friend. The setup was nice. And the music was PERFECT — just how I like it. Music selection was spot on and instantly added to the good vibes. Their benches at floor level? Brilliant! I actually enjoyed leaning forward — gave me a free core workout while hanging out. Two days later and I still feel the burn. Who knew a night out could double as fitness training? And the speaker announcing hot dogs? Pure genius. It cut through the music like an angel from heaven declaring: “Your hot dog has ARRIVED!” Never thought I’d get goosebumps from a concession stand announcement, but here we are. The service people were fantastic, and I LOVED the “do-it-yourself” setup. No fussy table service — just straight to the counter, grab your own drinks, and bus your own table. Exactly like McDonald’s, but with cooler vibes and better food. Efficiency at its finest. Hot dog was delicious, and honestly, I can’t wait to go back.

Looking for a hot dog? Stop looking and come here. Want it vegan and/or gluten free? Come on down. Looking for non-alcoholic options with a chill, down-to-earth vibe? You get the picture. Grey Horse and Third Coast created a great local spot where everyone feels welcome and eclectic music is a feature, not a bug. Leave your ego at the door and order the San Anto.

Motorcycles and hawt dawgs. What else do you want? Some good NA options for when I’m on my moto. Good beer options for when I’m on my bicycle. You can get a good gourmet dog for less than $10, but you’re gonna want to get at least two. The recipes are unique and delicious. Bae City Dog is a must if you like cream cheese wontons. Hell Paso dog is another favorite of me.
