Although I'm late in posting this, I wanted to take a moment to give my feedback on Grey's and their excellent staff. I always believe in supporting local and Grey's is a locally owned restaurant. Back in October, my wife and I were celebrating our 26th anniversary. I chose Grey's because of how great, and consistent, their service and food has always been every time we've been there. Their service is always attentive and friendly, and food is always great. Since we had been there a few times for lunch and my wife loved it, I couldn't go wrong for our anniversary celebration, and I am so glad I made this choice. From the time I contacted them for a reservation, to the time we arrived and throughout our meal, everybody was friendly, professional and made us feel like we were their only priority. I believe the whole staff wished us a happy anniversary at some point during the evening, and thanked us for letting them be a part of it. We had the fondue for two, and it was excellent. We also had a ricotta appetizer that my wife absolutely adored, and pimento cheese, which was great too. Grey's is a small place with a casual atmosphere and they definitely make you feel welcomed. They don't have a huge menu, however, what's everything we've tried so far has been top notch. Special thanks to Jackie for helping me plan our dinner, and for her great communication. And a special shout out to our server, Addison, who took such great care of us. Strongly recommend Grey's, and we're looking forward to attending one of their classes in 2025.

Google
Great girls night or date night! Our group attended Cheese 101, which was awesome. Cheesemonger Kurt was so knowledgeable and answered all questions very well. Highly recommend & look forward to going again.

Google
Such a delightful place! We grabbed a menu and seated ourselves, and it wasn't long before our waiter showed up. He offered recommendations and answered our questions. There wasn't a long wait to get our food. As for what we came for - the cheese.....it was simply divine. First time here, but certainly not the last.

Google
Greys Cheese Shop in Memphis is an absolute gem, and a must-visit for any cheese enthusiast. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by the warm, inviting atmosphere and the incredible aroma of expertly aged cheeses. What truly sets Greys apart, though, is Kurt – a genuinely knowledgeable and passionate cheesemonger. Kurt took the time to understand my tastes and introduced me to some incredible varieties I never would’ve discovered on my own. His enthusiasm is contagious, and his recommendations were spot-on – from Goat Cheese Gruyère to bold blues, every selection was a hit. You can tell he’s not just selling cheese; he lives and breathes it. Whether you’re putting together a stunning charcuterie board or just looking for your new favorite snack, Greys delivers. I left with a bag full of delicious finds and a head full of new cheese knowledge. I can’t wait to go back!

Google
Fantastic spot for lunch, gifts, or just tasting/learning. Had a much better wine and cheese selection than we expected. The sandwich was giant and came with chips which was nice. The charcuterie board was filling and we appreciated how they explained everything on it. We are already planning on going back.

Google
The wedge salad was so good! Definitely recommend. I had them sub the blue cheese for a dill dressing which was really tasty! We also had a charcuterie board.

Google
A wonderful addition to this area. The team was very helpful in recommending pairings. Bradley was beyond awesome! The small plates and wine were delicious. Looking forward to possibly registering for a charcuterie class. The atmosphere is very inviting. We enjoyed the patio as well. You must try the Marinated Feta Plate.

Google
Highly recommend doing one of their classes. Very educational and interesting throughout the entire experience. The cheesemonger was very nice and fun to talk to and will answer any question you can throw at him. Will definitely be going back for a meal sometime. (photo from charcuterie and cheese class)

Yelp
The food here is absolutely delicious My goodness the Service was nothing but outstanding and gracious I can not stress with out giving true light of the ambiance of my dine in experience.

Yelp
Really enjoy this place and the quality food offerings tied to complementary wines. Staff is knowledgeable and loves educating. Never had a cheese or protein I didn't like there, and the sandwiches are huge and creatively delicious. Their chef comes up with creative dips and just knows flavors. Only annoyance is some flies that never leave us alone as we enjoy the visit. I know they come in from outside, but need to take some action. Maybe one of those plug in attractors.

Milynda B.

Yelp
The cheeses and garnishes were absolutely fabulous. The service was decent, though I do wish there had been a sweet sparkling wine available. The ambiance is wonderfully relaxing, and it's refreshing to be able to have a real conversation without music blaring in the background. A lovely spot--especially if you're a woman looking to enjoy some solo time in a comfortable setting.

Yelp
Get the chimichurri and pastrami sandwich. It is the best sandwich in Memphis. The other food is really good, but it's the best sandwich I've ever had in my life. I repeat: get the chimichurri and pastrami sandwich.

Yelp
Love the turkey sandwich and service is top notch. I had a lovely little lunch. It was quiet enough to read but lively enough I didn't have to listen to others chew. I took home a tasty goat milk Gouda and some pimento and cheese. I was apprehensive about the PC. Being raised on my Mawmaw's, I have quite a high standard. It is goood, different but craveable. I'll be back for a grilled cheese!

Yelp
So, let's start by saying that it's a planche board... We'd stopped in to check out the restaurant as it was closing one night and were intrigued. Hubby loves cheese. It does NOT like me But I thought I'd give it chance. We went back for a lunch date during the week. Our server schooled us on the fact if you have cheese and meat, it's called a planche. Let's fast forward to what you really want to know: yes! The food was absolutely delicious. The portions were bigger than what we expected and we were ridiculously full by the time we left. I ordered the wedge salad. Nothing too fancy. Or was it? It was as delicious as it was beautiful. Hubby ordered the Kimchi Reuben. It was ginormous. I didn't try it but it was pretty to look at! We finished our meal with a slice of cheesecake with blueberry lemon compote. The only mistake we made was thinking that we were going to have a light lunch. I felt bad for hubby having to go back to work. I went home and went to sleep ‍ The ingredients were so fresh that I didn't have a strong reaction to the bread or the cheese, which is usually where I struggle. So, we will definitely visit again!

Yelp
Sip Sip Hooray ! I love Grey Cheese and wine. My love for charcuterie got better because of this place. I do have my favorite wine that I always purchase here and it is called Famiglia Pasqua Moscato D'astii. I enjoy sitting on the patio and soaking up the sun, it is very relaxing.

Alison H.

Yelp
Our server was rude. The sign outside had false advertising. Will not return. They promoted 30% bottles on Tuesday and Thursday. When we asked the server and pointed to the sign she rolled her eyes and was clearly very irritated with us. She grabbed the manager who was kind but while she was speaking to us the server continued with the poor attitude. We patron businesses to expect a good time; not to be treated as a nuisance. We left because we felt very uncomfortable.

Yelp
Came to get a sandwich. Walked in and sat at the bar. I wasn't greeted right away, but I did get a menu. It took a while for the guy to look up from what he was doing to ask me if I needed anything or what interested me on the menu. Trying to make eye contact for communication was pretty annoying. It also took a long time for the sandwich to come out. I got it to go. For about 17 dollars, it was okay. It was more than enough on it. Bacon tasted a little burnt to me but maybe it was fried hard. It also came with chips. I just really didn't like the service. Including me there were only 3 ppl at the bar and a handful scattered at the Reg tables.

Yelp
I was just here for a delivery for door dash the orders wasn't ready tho no big deal The Establishment looks great so the management offered. Me a drink of water but what behoove me that he took the water out of the faucet so it was hot then went back around to serve others old water I understand I'm not a paying customer don't worry I won't be eating or spending my money here thanks

Yelp
I truly love this concept - wine and cheese dining ! Grey's offers different cheese dishes and wine parings . They also have patio dining and a retail store inside . The only issues are parking and I wish they offered more fruit and crackers options with their cheese entrees . They also have various tasting events and parings that sell fast !

Yelp
Highly recommend Burrata appetizer and Duke's turkey & bacon sandwich. Clean and relaxed upscale ambiance with great service

Matthew P.

Yelp
Excited there's a place to find the incredible cheese my friends in the Pacific Northwest are always bragging about. The owner's super chill and knowledgeable. Can't wait to go back. Perhaps before a movie date at Paradiso.

Yelp
I've been waiting to give this place a try and I wasn't as impressed as I thought I'd be. We came in to try really unique cheeses and wine, maybe even get a little info on them and...meh. Ordered a charcuterie board and had some unique items but the presentation lacked a bit. I'm really just used to a more dressed up board. I wasn't familiar with the cheeses, but really didn't know much about them. And didn't get much explanation. I had high hopes. It was just okay. I'll check it off the list and continue to frequent my faves.

Yelp
The food and wine were delicious! We made a reservation for 6 people and had the charcuterie table. Well worth it. Had so much fun celebrating friend's birthday. Will definitely do it again.

Mo T.

Yelp
Amazing food and service! Came here on a whim for lunch and the charcuterie board was everything we could ask for. Very personable atmosphere and they were super knowledgeable on everything we ordered. Will be back!

Yelp
This girl loves cheese. When a group of friends suggested we book a couple of tables for Raclette night I knew I had to go. We were given a brief tutorial on the history of raclette and how to melt out cheese and we were off. We had a tray of cornichons, green onions, sliced mini peppers and red onions. There were also trays of sausage and pancetta, a bowl of roasted mini potatoes and a basket of bread. Then there was a plate of stacks and stacks of cheese! Each table got 2 bottles of wine. After you melted your cheese on the Raclette pans you poured it over you combination of meat, veggies and bread. It was so delicious.

Yelp
Absolutely great experience here! We had a party of 6 and ordered the "Greysing" Experience. The manager was very nice and accommodating- they don't normally serve the Greysing experience on Saturday's since it's a busy day and very small limited seating inside. We called a day ahead and manager made it happen for our 2 birthday girls, thank you! The ambiance is clean and quaint, like a boutique cheese shop. The Greysing experience is unbelievable, like a massive charcuterie board and includes 2 bottles of wine. They had a nice selection of cheese, meats and accompaniments and it was massive. All 6 of us stuffed ourselves silly and each couple had a 5lb doggy bag. Everyone was impressed, we will definitely be back. We spent $300 for the table and I don't know how they made a profit. It would've cost me at least that much if I went to the store and bought this myself. They have sandwiches if charcuterie isn't your thing and I hear the kimchi Reuben is stupid good - trying that this weekend. Highly recommend!!

Yelp
I love how professionally paired everything is, and the atmosphere Is very chill. The attention and knowledge from the staff to creating the planche's are amazing. And the cheesecake is to die for! It's velvety and tangy. I love frequenting here for a lighter meal.

Justine M.

Yelp
I love their food and sandwiches, but the service here is TERRIBLE! RUN!First off, no one came to our table or even said anything to us for 10 minutes. Then we said we wanted to order a charcuterie board, but needed help picking out what we wanted. She asked red or white and then just ran off for about 15 minutes. We ordered a charcuterie board and told our waitress we needed help picking cheese, that we liked creamy cheeses, like goat, Gouda, or havarti, nothing smoky, etc. She offered us no suggestions when we asked but just said the list they had was too long and she'd make us one. We wanted to order a sandwich, but she told us the kitchen was about to close which is fine but why not say that as we sit down? She ruined our experience here. Would not recommend!

Yelp
Love Greys! Sat out on the patio today for a glass of wine and lunch. Let me tell you, their Turkey sandwich is the best I've ever had in my life! Is it the cheese? Is it the Duke's Mayo? The herbs? The mile high Turkey? The bread? The answer to all of the above is yes! The sandwich is huge and can easily be split between 2, but my husband and I each love this sandwich too much to share. You won't be disappointed! And all of the other food we saw looked delicious as
google avatar

Justin L.

Yelp
We stopped into Grey's after reading about it on Facebook. We also knew the Chef Jimmy G and Mitchell from our favorite local restaurant PO Press (which is closed) does all their charcuterie. So we ordered a board, and had Gus, the Cheesemonger select some cheeses for us. I'm not a fan of some bleu cheeses, so, of course, there was an extra cheese added, of the bleu variety...it was amazing! The meats were terrific, the pickled cauliflower had a curry hint to it, and was fantastic! I washed it down with some French Sparkling Rose, and my wife had Prosecco. We also split the Kim-Chee Reuben, and it was an amazing sandwich! We will definitely be back to eat, and will be getting our charcuterie from them as well! Make sure to head to Greys!

Yelp
Hello Memphis meet Grey's Fine Cheeses. Few times have I been to a place in Memphis where I couldn't compare a shop to something else we have here. After all, Memphis is a city full of good food. However, there is nothing like Grey's Fine Cheeses here and I'm not sure what we ever did without them. The cheesemonger (yes, seriously!) is super knowledgeable and more than willing to take what you like and push you just a step further. They also have a sommelier that my friend enjoyed the recommendation of. He also made a great host for our afternoon of cheese. The boards were well prepared with an excellent selection of cheeses and charcuterie that felt sort of familiar but left your brain going, "That's really good cheese!" The meats were wonderful and paired beautifully. I love that they came with crusty bread. It was perfect. The pickled items and grapes were the perfect palate cleanser. The food was good and the atmosphere was great. My friend and I recall that it sort of had a Schitt's Creek vibe. That whole "sophisticated, but get over it" vibe is strikingly alluring. One thing remains certain, the whole experience was an epic take away. There are many iconic places where people meet others and share epic times; Friends has Central Perk, the Cheers bar, and now for me at least, Memphis has Grey's Fine Cheeses.

Yelp
Delicious sandwich, lots of options for taking home more treats! Sampled their cheese and fruit plates at an event, visited the store for lunch. Limited but tasty menu, lots of cheeses and other delicacies to take home, friendly staff!
google avatar

Keia J.

Yelp
This was their most popular sandwhich, the turkey back something. The servings are huge, and the atmosphere is quaint and the food is really good. This will be a place that a girls night with cheese and wine will be perfect.
google avatar

Bradley S.

Yelp
Such a fun place to eat or shop! The staff rocks and the food is delicious. Great wine selection
google avatar

D'Marie C.

Yelp
This is a nice quaint spot tucked into a small shopping strip on South Mendenhall. The person at the register was so excited and willing to tell me about any and everything I wanted to know. The smell of smoked meat filled this place seducing you to look to see where it was coming from. My sandwich was being prepared to order and when it was presented, I was like, that's what I'm talking about! As pictured it was enough to share. I can't wait to go back and try more.

Yelp
Only have taken the classes and workshops at Greys. The workshops/classes are fun and informative. A little expensive but understandable for the type of shop it is. It's good date night place.

Katie M.

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience at Grey's Cheese! First of all, everyone who works there is so kind and helpful. Despite being a "fine cheese" restaurant, no one was pretentious or snooty. We got the 5 cheese + 3 meats charcuterie board and it was DELICIOUS! We were very hungry and it was a LOT of food. Happy hour until 6 includes $7 house wine and a dollar off beer. The wine selection is also fantastic and the wine guy was very kind and informative. As we ate, they were preparing the most amazing spread of cheese I've ever seen (see pic). You can get a spread like this for a minimum of 6 people for $300 and it includes 2 bottles of wine! I need to go gather more friends to come back and try this!!

Sarah E.

Yelp
My birthday was this weekend and I was really looking forward to trying this place out. The inside has a beautiful selection of cheeses and spreads. I got the club sandwich and just for 2 board to go. For the price, the charcuterie and cheese was OK. What really made me want to leave a review is that I also ordered the club sandwich to go, and to my extreme disappointment when I opened the box it looked like it had been vigorously shaken amount. For the money, I expected much better.
google avatar

Michaela A.

Yelp
Came in here for the first time today to check it out, and we were definitely impressed! It's great to have a store like this in Memphis. They have a large selection along the wall of nuts, spreads, crackers, and other nice imported accompaniments. When we got up to the counter, we were able to sample a few cheeses with the help of the very knowledgeable staff, and ended up picking three cheeses to take home. All in all, this is a great little store that we will definitely return to in the future. I recommend letting the staff guide you to the right products, or just trying something new that jumps out at you. Definitely looking forward to seeing what they add in the future!

Michelle C.

Yelp
I had heard about this place from a local and made a visit while in town recently. It did not disappoint. The staff was friendly, attentive and helpful. The cheese board was excellent! Loved the thoughtful flavor pairings. Didn't get to try any wines but I will next time. The decor was minimal but tasteful. The shop has so many things I want to try from jams and preserves to new cheeses, there's so much here to enjoy in future visits. A must visit while in Memphis!
google avatar

Dolly R.

Yelp
This place is a gem. Great selection, offering flights of cheeses and different wines.
google avatar

Nicholas T.

Yelp
Such a small classy joint. Great idea for a lunch date. If you're into fine wine/cheese then I would recommend here. They also have a collection of nearly exotic and local pantry items that would hard to purchase elsewhere. They also have group options as well for a party to enjoy as well. Purchased a sandwich just to try and was great tasting and a great portion.

Kevin H.

Yelp
The Situation was the bomb! Legit one of the best sandwiches I've had in a very long time. I will definitely be back.
google avatar

Cindy C.

Yelp
Great sandwiches and fabulous cheeses. I've attended several of their cheese classes and all were wonderful. Staff is great and cute shop. Wish I could give it 10 stars.
google avatar

Bobby M.

Yelp
The expert cheesemonger, Curt, put together a fantastic spread for us - assorted goat cheeses, Spanish olives, whipped ricotta, and a wedge salad with blue cheese buttermilk dressing and smoky bacon. A glass of red for me and a glass of white for her, and the evening was a complete success. We even bought some of the cheese to take home. A marvelous date night. (Crumbl cookies is right next door, too)

Stari B.

Yelp
I ordered a charcuterie board and got a cheeseboard, which was not as pictured or described and not sufficient for my event. And the whole thing was so small and cheaply prepared. There were corn nuts on it. I don't expect gas station snacks on $140 charcuterie board. We were disappointed and won't be ordering again.

S H.

Yelp
THE BEST! Fantastic wine, charcuterie, SANDWICHES, and the service is unmatched. Everyone is so friendly and knowledgeable. One of my fav places in Memphis!
google avatar

Alexandra P.

Yelp
Stopped in for a glass of wine on a Friday night and had a great experience! We sat at the bar and were given great recommendations and had great conversations with the staff about the wines and cheeses they serve! The service was super friendly and is a big part of what made our experience so great. We will definitely be back to try the food!

Richard D.

Yelp
Had a meal there, and went back to buy the excellent imported ham that had been served. Yes, they had, but it was "too special" to sell to just anyone. I patronize local, but not this place. I can get the same from St. James Cheese Company in NOLA or Murray's in NYC. I might pay more, but I will be dealing with people that understand customer service.

Elizabeth T.

Yelp
What a treat for Memphis to have such a sophisticated resource for great cheeses, charcuterie, and LEARNING. Everything is first rate, and over the top quality. The owners are friendly and helpful. Love going in there to shop, taste and eat. Welcome to Memphis, Grey's.

Tijuana C.

Yelp
Everything about this place was great. We were greeted when we walked in. Everyone was very nice and helpful. The food and the bonus cheese was delicious. I can't say who our server was or if we had any because everyone was so very helpful. I got a chance to try different wines as well. Hubby also enjoyed himself especially learning about the different cheese

Dorothy C.

Yelp
i was really looking to find a nice/cute place to go to while my sister from out of town was here. so i found this! i was really excited. the reviews were really hyping it up so we went! we got there and the parking was absolutely RIDICULOUS!!!! there were no refills on the wine, the service was just awful, the music was kinda loud, we were greeted by the owner who wasn't nice to ANYONE at all. im giving this one star and we will not be coming back.
