We hired Grico's for our wedding, and they truly knocked it out of the park. From the first tasting with Marissa to the last bite on our wedding day, everything was delicious, beautifully presented, and perfectly executed. Our guests are still raving about the food. The flavors were spot-on, and every dish was served hot, fresh, and exactly how we wanted. They did an amazing job accommodating different dietary needs without sacrificing quality or flavor. On top of that, the service was flawless. The team was professional, kind, and so organized. Marissa answered all of our questions and was very professional and kind. If you’re looking for a caterer who delivers both incredible food and a stress-free experience, go with Grico's. They made our wedding day even more special, and we can’t thank them enough!

My wife and I decided to go out to dinner on Valentine’s Day for the first time in 14 years. I called for reservations a few weeks before. The folks from the restaurant called two days before to verify the reservations. Making sure our Valentines Day dinner was going to be great. The experience at the restaurant was fantastic. Great atmosphere and great food. I had the Crab Bisque with Chicken Marsala. My wife had a Flirtini with the Chicken Francese. We shared the Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte for Dessert. We definitely had a great Valentine’s Day experience and we will be back to try more of the menu!

I was taken here in the Y2K decade. It was a really cool place. You get to eat behind a curtain. Basically, it’s the perfect place for anyone who may get anxious when they eat. It really sets the bar high for creating a vibe. You get to focus on the food as well as the company. There’s no other place like this in the northeast Pennsylvania region and that’s what makes it so special. Sometimes you like to be fully immersed in your plate, especially if you’re a foodie. Personally, I enjoy a variety of eating venues as I love the community. However, this is a really unique place and I’m very happy I remembered it!

Google
First I would definitely recommend a reservation. Grico's is a fine dining establishment with great service and food. Menu is a variety of classic italian, steaks and seafood. The decor is vintage 1930s and 1940s. The private booths provide a unique dining experience for couples or groups of 2-4 people.

Google
I worked with Marissa and her team for our wedding catering at Whitewoods. Grico' s waitstaff and bartenders were efficient and professional during our entire wedding. We had a large wedding, 218 people, and Grico's was wonderful in plating and serving delicious food. Marissa was absolutely wonderful to work with and was so kind, professional, and flexible to help make our day exactly what we wanted. Thank you Grico's for a beautiful evening and wonderful food!!!! Everyone said food was delicious! 🍽🤍

Google
First time at Grico's and I'll definitely be back. We reserved a private room and it is ABSOLUTELY worth it. My guests and I all had wonderful entrées, though we collectively all thought the cocktails were entirely too sweet. Our waiter was very nice, attentive, and conversational. Definitely check out this spot.

Google
Chose Grico's for a special occasion this weekend. The staff, especially Matt our server, is amazing and the food was just delicious. Clams in butter garlic appetizer, house made creamy Bleu cheese dressing, and lump crab casserole is very highly recommended. Great chef. Looking forward to coming back....

Google
I have had dinner there several times. Staff and service are outstanding. There attention to detail is commendable. Dinner courses are uniquely prepared and wonderful. The drinks are fantastic. It has become my favorite place to have dinner and drinks. Shana the manager is very professional and accommodating. If I have to criticise something parking can be difficult otherwise I must say it's the best and I have not been disappointed.

Yelp
Went here for daughter's birthday. Great service and food. Unique environment for privacy when dining in the booth.

Yelp
My dad was celebrating his retirement and wanted to have the family together for dinner. He reserved a private room that seats 8. This was around the holidays. They had the table set beautifully with their holiday menus already waiting for us. A few of us tried their holiday cocktails and some stayed with the regular menu but both were delicious. We had a wide range of food choices across the table and everyone had great things to say. When time for dessert, we all opted for something different. The crème brûlée was out of this world along with their espresso martini. It was everything my dad had hoped for!

Yelp
3 stars for the rigatoni bolognese pasta and the nice waitress. We came in on a Tuesday and had reservations for 7:30pm. We ordered our appetizer and our entrees at the same time hoping they would all come all out at once since we were starving. The appetizer we ordered was fried calamari and it had no salt or pepper at all (probably why it took so fast to come out), 3.4/10. We sat and waited and waited and waited.....the entrees didn't come out until 8:45pm (they close at 9pm). At that point we didn't even want to eat anymore. The capellini vodka pasta with meat balls was a 3.6/10. It didn't taste like vodka sauce but Marinara sauce. The rigatoni bolognese was the star of the show, 8.2/10. We were unsure why it took over an hour to receive our pasta dishes. Not sure if it was an off day or if this is how they operate. Probably won't go back.

Yelp
Fantastic ambience. Wow!! Special place for a special date. Curtains booths. Delicious food. Service is impeccable. Can't go wrong here. Prepare to wow. In a subtle way.
google avatar

Olivia G.

Yelp
Quality food and quality service. Best seafood in the valley!! So glad I went. They have little rooms with curtains - that was adorable. The hot apple crisp was also delish. Can't wait to go back. Wine was reasonably priced but the list of glasses wasn't impressive

David C.

Yelp
The food, drink and ambiance in this small restaurant were better than expected. Karen waited on us and was personable and attentive. When travelling through this area again Grico's will be a repeat meal!

Yelp
I've been coming to Grico's for years but this was the first time I've been here since about 2008 because I moved up the mountain. It's just as good now as it was years ago. Our appetizer was Little Neck Clams in a wine and garlic sauce. It was insanely good. If the brought me a giant pot of these clams, I would have just eaten those all night. Our salads were a nice Garden Salad with Champagne Vinaigrette which was tasty. For dinner I ordered a special which was Walleye with Capers. My first thought when our server told us the specials was, "what fish market sold them walleye?" I never see that on any menu in this area. Did someone who works there go fishing that morning? Regardless of where they got the fish, it was out of this world. Perfectly cooked and the capers amped up the dish with a little bit of tang. My wife ordered Crabmeat Stuffed Shrimp which was delicious. I mean seriously, who doesn't want one shellfish stuffed with another shellfish? Fantastic dish. We are definitely looking forward to going here again.

Yelp
Nice place, great staff ,loved the private booths ,food was good. I only had the pasta. Classic Italian

Jackie K.

Yelp
Booth seating is the way to go. Great food!! Presentation isn't amazing but the taste of the food makes up for it. Delicious wine. And service was great! Loud and noisy but the booth helps keep the experience more personal and enjoyable

Yelp
We grew up in northeast Pennsylvania but we've lived away since 1994. We are visiting as we travel to Florida so decided to go with our family to Grico's. We had a wonderful server, Krista, the menu selection was excellent, and the food was delicious. We had a lovely evening on our first visit to Grico's. We plan to go back next time we're in the area.

Yelp
This was literally one of the only restaurants open on a Monday in both Luzerne and Lackawanna counties and quite literally one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The Chicken Francaise was out of this world and the portion size was perfect. The crisp on that chicken was so spot on, you just knew the chef couldn't have taken his eyes off of it for a second. I was also a huge fan of their generous pours of wine! Unfortunately though, the service was not great at all and probably had something to do with the whole being-the-only-restaurant-open-on-a-monday thing. We sat down at 6 and didn't leave until 8:30.

Yelp
50th birthday dinner with my family. I got the salmon, and the surf n turf. Can't tell you how satisfied I was...but I can say I also finished everyone else's meals because zonal fat and love to eat. Despite my diabetes, I ate everything I could get my hands on. Bread, apps, stuff from other peoples plates. All good, nothing I stuffed into my fat face was bad. I can't recommend NOT trying anything because I feel we tried the whole menu between all 6 of us. They even brought me a birthday dessert, and I of course finished it with an espresso. This place is top notch!

Yelp
Classic Italian recipes prepared well and served in a cost environment. Good service!

Yelp
Great atmosphere, great food and wonderful service. Grico's in Exeter has been around for generations and the food has always been consistently good. I highly recommend it for dinner. Reservations are most definitely required, especially on weekends.

Yelp
Excellent food, exquisite service, personal comfort, and atmosphere make this an indispensable NEPA experience.

Yelp
After many years of wanting to try this restaurant, I was finally there this week for a birthday celebration. Sat in one of the private booths which was really unique (pretty dark, but ok). Our server, Matt, was impeccable in attentiveness and service. Explained some of the entrees and cocktails very well. I can't say anything bad about the appetizers, the entrees, cocktails, and desserts! All incredible! Hope to make it back again at some point!

Annie C.

Yelp
unbelievably fantastic... the service was outstanding the food, best crab cake ever! shrimp with crabmeat plus added mushrooms, and pork milanese was fantastic! PEI mussels and clams casino absolutely delish! Gricos is best restaurant around the area...

Yelp
Cute place, decent drinks, and steak is good. Avoid the oysters though. Caught food poisoning from them.

Yelp
We enjoyed a nice dinner out at Grico's. We sat in a private booth, which I do recommend for a more intimate setting. Our drinks and appetizers were delivered quickly and they were delicious! Our food was great! I highly recommend the Shrimp Savoy as an appetizer. My husband's filet was cooked perfectly, as were my scallops. The waitstaff was phenomenal, especially our server Ashley who was pleasant, attentive, & professional. Everyone from the manager to the bus boy were impressive. Overall we were satisfied with the quality of the food in comparison to the price. The atmosphere was neat. We will definitely return.

Rhea L.

Yelp
Excellent food and service. I had veal and it was tender and tasty. The atmosphere is nice. I would recommend.

Yelp
A fairly straight-forward menu of Italian fare at reasonable prices. A nicely appointed bar upfront where plenty of folks were enjoying their dinner perched on a stool. It didn't seem like the kind of place where eating at the bar was an afterthought. It's nicely lit, well maintained, heavy on the wood decor and old-school in a nice way. The only weird bit was the piped-in music; a rather generic, late-period boomer playlist of 20th century e-z listening classics where you would expect some Louis Prima and Sinatra. It was unobtrusive at least. Had Linguini with white clam sauce, some decent oysters and a nice, Eggplant Fritti that was well-done without being a fried chewy mess. But the real charm of Grico's are the private, curtained booths in the back. Quite cozy and charming. Perfect for two diners...maybe four could squeeze in but it seems designed for a couple. Great for illicit encounters when you want to avoid prying eyes while you wine and dine your secretary without the wifey hearing about it. Not too formal, but a nicely dressed older crowd of locals who are probably going to the same place their grandparents frequented before WWII. Grico's has been around for 86 years! The service was great and attentive without overdoing it. Grico's will hopefully make it another 86 years.

Nikki Z.

Yelp
Great atmosphere! They have private booths to have a more intimate experience. The staff is always friendly. Drink and wine selection is always on point, And the food is delicious. Can't go wrong. Love coming here.
google avatar

Yelp
This old school Italian Retaurant has amazing food and service. We love coming here because of the private room tables. It's really cool on date night!

Yelp
This is one of my favorite restaurants. Beautiful place for a special occasion since they have private booths for dining. One thing I judge a restaurant by is consistency. Grico's is always consistent, excellent food and service. My absolute favorite is Bill's crab cakes. These are the original Hottles "lumpers" Those who have dined there know what I mean. Bill was Hottles. These crab cakes are nothing but crab. People say that about other places but, I HAVE NEVER had better anywhere in the States. I refer to these as my " last dinner before the electric chair". I was there this week and they had, as an appetizer, deviled eggs with smoked salmon on top. I could have eaten 3 dozen of them. Wow were they good my mouth is watering just thinking about them. Of all the restaurants I have left a review this is a favorite. Anyone who knows me trust my options on food, this place is wonderful and has the best crab cakes you will ever eat. I promise you. On the menu they are called Bill's crab cakes. Damn, They are good. So please enjoy when you visit Grico's you will not be disappointed. I promise !

Yelp
Fabulous food with super cool closed-in tables creating a private, intimate feeling that is also fun. Loved the crabcakes and salmon and wine list was superb. Service friendly and fast. We shared the Creme Brulee for dessert. Could not have been happier with meal, drinks, ambience. Don't miss this restaurant!

Yelp
We called the day of and were able to get a reservation on Saturday for 8pm. I called and left a message to see if there were any availabilities and got a call right back. We requested a private booth. It's the perfect place for a date or just to take people to show them a restaurant with private booths (they are 2 to 6 seater tables in a small private room with a curtain to close the doorway)! No one has those so it's a fun change and good for social distancing. We got there around 7:50pm and were immediately seated. We literally live about a mile away from this fabulous place and would love to go more often. We ordered drinks to have with our appetizers. My boyfriend had a Guinness ($5) and I had the special, which was a white peach sangria ($10). The sangria was really good and wasn't overly sweet, which is how I prefer it. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms ($12) and the eggplant fritti ($9) for appetizers. Both were very good. There was a piece of crab shell in the mushrooms that my boyfriend bit into and the fritti could have used a bit of salt, but there was no salt/pepper at the table. We then ordered a bottle of wine to go with our entrees ($45). The wine if purchased from wine and spirits would go for about $15, but that's to be expected when dining out. My boyfriend ordered the Prince steak (my boyfriend said the steak was good, but not the best) with the pepe sauce ($37 plus $4 for the pepe sauce). I ordered a half portion of the penne with vodka sauce ($8). We both got salads although my half portion didn't come with a salad so my salad was an additional $5. If I had realized I would have gotten the full portion with salad included bc it ended up almost being the same price as the full portion would have been (then I'd also have leftovers). Their vodka sauce is soooo good. I'd say the best in our area. It has the perfect amount of spice in it, which I really enjoy. Their salad is always so tender and delicious. The balsamic dressing is really good. We then had the cheesecake ($7) and apple crisp ($6) for dessert. Both were good, but we could have skipped them. Our server Courtney was great and so was everyone else (hostess, bus boy and the woman who brought our meals out). No one skipped a beat. In all we spent $153 and then left a little over 20% for a tip. We spent almost $200, which was worth it. We left happy and felt like we had a good meal. Grico's is a great place to visit. But we can't go too often due to what we usually spend.

Yelp
Excellent food, great service, wasn't rushed! Definitely will return! Would like to try a few more things on the menu.
google avatar

Istvan U.

Yelp
Oh my......awesome! Been going here since the mid-2000s and the restaurant is still the same. Phenomenal food, fantastic service, and if you're looking for a really romantic place for special occasions then the the private 2 or 4 person booths can't be beat. Expect to pay, but truly a great restaurant. Oh, and please dress up. It's not Panera Bread.
google avatar

Roxanne M.

Yelp
Grico's is hands down, one of my favorite places to eat, not only because they did a phenomenal job catering my wedding, but they continue to raise the bar each time I come back. The staff, the prices, the specials, all of it is 5 and worth checking out! Oh also, I love shrimp scampi, and it's not realllllly in the menu, but anytime I request it, they always do it for me!! Bonus!

Ben J.

Yelp
Awesome food and service! Can not stress strongly enough how excellent our experiences have been.
google avatar

Edward A.

Yelp
Used to be my go to for a great dinner. New owners took over. Dinner and service declined. Big disappointment with our last visit. My wife and I wouldn't recommend going here anymore.
google avatar

Annette D.

Yelp
Food was delicious. We had a private booth for a romantic night out. We expected privacy. Instead every 5 minutes, one of 3 servers, they were coming in to check on things. As soon as we would set a plate off to the side, there they were again. They were actually watching for us to set out forks down. Dinner plates weren't off the table for more than 2 minutes and there they were again wanting a desert order. I had to ask for time and privacy. There was nothing intimate about our date night, which was extremely disappointing. We felt very rushed.
google avatar

Donna S.

Yelp
First time here I went with my good friend. My first impression was a nice place for a romantic dinner since they have intimate seating for two in the back. We were greeted with a warm welcome from the hostess that took us to our table and again we were greeted by our waitress. We started with a delicious salad topped w/buffalo mozzarella and a homemade pesto dressing. I don't like to be negative but we had to ask three times for bread and then again two times for butter. Somewhat makes this uncomfortable to keep asking. I had the White Sangria and my friend had a glass of wine. For dinner I had as you can see in the pic the Veal and My friend had the Salmon both good. Prices are high and for just three drinks the bar bill was $28.50. After dinner my friend had again to ask twice for coffee and had to find our waitress to pay the bill. Not sure if I would go back

Sierra E.

Yelp
Had the most lovely, romantic dinner with my boyfriend here tonight. We sat outside under the pavilion/tent. The atmosphere was lovely. It was a cooler night and our waitress put the space heater on for us which kept us nice and toasty the entire meal. My boyfriend got the swordfish special and I got the filet with goat cheese special. He thoroughly enjoyed his meal and I can 100% say this was by far the best filet I've ever had. Great drinks too, I had the apple cider sangria which was soooooo yummy. We ended the night off with the flourless chocolate dessert, OMG so so amazing. We had two women that worked together as our servers and they were absolutely fantastic. To top it all off, we had the entire tent to ourselves. Great meal, great atmosphere, and great service. Thank you Grico's !

Yelp
Love this place ! I could live here I would. All pasta dishes are amazing! Crab cakes - hottles style are amazing I can't get enough. This place is a special place for myself and family to go for birthdays or special occasions. Wine is good Bread is good House dressing amazing Love love love it there ! Creme brûlée is dead on perfect!

Yelp
What an amazing dinner. I had the scallop dinner on the new summer menu was cooked perfectly. My dinner mates had the salmon and raspberry sauce and the Chicken Parm. They both said their meals were delicious. The staff was friendly and the private rooms are awesome. I'll be back!!
google avatar

Ed C.

Yelp
Thought this was going to be a good place because of the reviews but apparently locals have become accustomed to thinking places like this are good but we were highly disappointed. Started off with claims that were extremely fishy & disgusting. I had gotten the bolognese & was nothing more then jar pasta sauce over pasta, weird thing was the sauce was clearly 2 different sauces, one was darker had some meat, the second was really light no meat and clearly poured over the 1st sauce. My bf had the filet mignon & he didn't like it at all, definitely wasn't worth the price.
google avatar

David L.

Yelp
I was highly disappointed with the meal. The filet was mediocre and the accompanying vegetables were dry and flavorless. The clams casino tasted very fishy and not fresh in the least. The only redeeming quality was the creme brulee for dessert.

C C.

Yelp
Nice place going for years but why did you change the salad dressing that Pat had Pricey but only for special occasion
google avatar

Rachel M.

Yelp
I know most of the time we all want a good meal, but let's face it, atmosphere can make or break an experience. Grico's is truly unique because you can reserve a private booth in which you can enjoy your dinner. This is one of our go to spots for a night out with friends. You feel like you are the only party in the restaurant! The dinners are delicious and the martini list is awesome. There are also usually really good martinis on special for the evening. Parking can be tricky in the back of the building, but it's well worth it. Be sure to reserve your private booth!

Sophie G.

Yelp
Loved this restaurant for a romantic night out! You can reserve a private room witn awesome lighting for a great private dinner. Wait staff were attentive and really great! The food was delicious too! Definitely recommend this place
google avatar

Yvonne F.

Yelp
First time at this restaurant. We fully enjoyed everything. The stuffed mushrooms and clams casino were excellent. Felt like I was in little Italy in NY. We had veal dishes that were superb. A nice wine selection with a wait staff that knew everything about the menu and specials. It was our first visit of many more in the future. If your in the area stop in and enjoy a fabulous dinner. We had a private booth which enhanced our dining experience. Kudos to the chef and everyone who made our nite out a happy experience. We will return many times I'm sure.

Amelia H.

Yelp
My mother-in-law picked Grico's for our wedding rehearsal dinner. It was such a cute and festive atmosphere for the occasion. We got Becky's Wedding Cake for dessert, because how could we not? It was so tasty! Thank you!
google avatar

Alex V.

Yelp
Just a quick update here. Grico's is back in business. The food is as good as ever. We ate here twice during the opening week. My old favorites: stuffed mushrooms, shrimp savoi, and seafood fra diavolo were just as good as I remember them and the new menu items are excellent as well.
google avatar

Suzanne K.

Yelp
Great local spot . Food is always fresh , very intimate setting, great for a private romantic night or a group of friends. The drinks are made to perfection, the food is prepared perfect just for you! This place really makes you feel special and go home with a full belly.
google avatar

Patrick D.

Yelp
Everything was amazing from start to finish. We stopped here on our way to a school band concert. Wish we had extra time to savor every moment. We were pleasantly greeted by the host, our server was the sweetest, and the special assorted seafood appetizer, oysters on the half shell, penne vodka sauce, linguine with seafood and linguine with red clam sauce were spectacular! We raved about this fantastic dinner for days!
google avatar

Susan P.

Yelp
Sorry that there is no photo. With the first bite I was smitten. Couldn't stop to take a photo. Salmon with dill sauce and she had blackened salmon with raspberry sauce. Five stars says it all! Be sure to reserve a private booth. If we can add a photo here is the dessert.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely amazing! Came here for my anniversary on the recommendation of a regular here. I made a reservation about 2 weeks in advance for one of the private tables. It was so crowded when we walked in but we were greeted right away and whisked away to our private table. All levels of service exceeded any expectations we had. All of our servers were professional, knowledgeable, and and personable. The martini menu was creative and delicious, apps were big enough to share, the entrees and dessert were all A+. I can't recommend this place enough. Classy and refined, this is one of the best meals we ever had, and we cannot wait for our next sate here! Side note: a well dressed adult atmophere, and not really for kids.
