I was handed a free burger coupon today. I made it to the front of the packed line after about 10 minutes thinking "this place is probably excellent" but when i got to the front I learned the coupon was only for a plain hamburger. This isn't the reason for the 2 star review. I asked if they could up-charge me for cheese and the manager said no they couldn't no because they are only promoting the basic burger. I've never heard of a manager that refused to up-charge a customer... Not a big deal. The patty was flat and a bit overdone and very salty. Still not a problem, since it was free and what can you expect from fast food, no matter how "modern" they want to call themselves, its still a burger in under 5 minutes.
I am giving the 2 star from the quality of ingredients. The buns while nicely over sized are flavorless white bread and pretty dry. Which I believe is why they squirt on the Griddler's sauce, to moisten up the bun... but since the patty is so salty and then the pickles being naturally salty the sauce didn't even come through, just more salt. Some consistency would be nice too, my burger had very little sauce while another patrons burger was dripping and looked messy. The beef itself had more bone chips and cartilage than I have had in a fast food burger. One little tendon or chip isn't a big deal since thats what we can expect from the industry but get some better quality beef. For a $5.00 burger at regular price people expect more than that out of your beef.
The sweet potato tots were very good.
The soda fountain needs calibration or they need to check their syrup bags, because my Diet Pepsi was almost chemical.
I probably wont give them another chance but who knows. Maybe their hot dogs are better.
