Griendel - Brasserie Artisanale (quartier Montcalm)

We went to Avenue Cartier to view the lanterns and stumbled (on purpose) on this place. It proved to be another great find on our travels. Started gently with a Summer Pale Ale which was tasty and refreshing. Then I decided to go for a flight of 4 more “challenging” choices. The Lime and Pepper White Ale will long live in my taste buds memory and the Mango and Passion fruit ale made a fruit ale phobic change his mind We didn’t try the food but it looked good and I’ve only dropped to a four for atmosphere because we went very early on a wet and grey Wednesday. The staff were super friendly and made us feel welcome…sorry you had to speak my language rather than your own by the way. Go see the lanterns…then drink some great ale here.

Great craft beers in a wonderful setting. The back patio is awesome. Beer flights are tasty. Really nice people.

the restaurant was spacious, the staff was nice and attended to us perfectly! the passionfruit beer was a 10/10, perfect for non-beer drinkers. the charcuterie platter was great to share and the saumon & pieuvre was also nice. overall a great experience!

I was told their beers were great, but I was not at all impressed. One IPA was quite off (sulphur taste) which I couldn't finish a 5oz sample, it nearly made me feel ill. The service was abysmal. We would have ordered food if anyone had bothered to ask. I had to stand and stare at the staff for several minutes until we finally got to ask for our bill.

Service was poor, food was average at best and beer selection was fine. A shadow of the place it used to be and the atmosphere they used to have when it was on rue Saint Vallier. It's a real shame.

My husband and I were not sure about the place and so we split our two meals and didn’t get a side either but let me tell you... The burger was delicious and I was sad to only got to eat half of it! That tells you how yummy it is! I immediately told my husband I would 100% come back to eat it whole! The poutine was really good, great cheese and great sauce -however, wouldn’t recommend getting the pulled pork on it! 🙅🏻‍♀️The pulled pork took away from the amazing poutine! Just a regular poutine is the best! 💁🏻‍♀️ Lastly, the beer, my husband wasn’t a fan but many seem to love it so maybe he just didn’t pick the right ones? 🤷🏻‍♀️ Def good food!

A nice pub with an original industial decor. There is a lot of choice for the beer and the quality is really good! The waiters know a lot about their menu and give good advice about the beer! A good place to taste good beer at a fair price! I recommend it to anyone who likes beer and a nice place to drink it!

We had a lovely time at Griendel - enjoyed all of their IPAs and the service was great, highly recommend to stop by when in Québec!
